Luz was an outcast; a weirdo, simply put. The snake girl. Trash-zura fan. She didn't mind all that much, she liked to be different. But it got worse as she got older. Our Noceda was prone to being harassed, tripped up, called lewd things. But she kept it to herself, because nobody would care about ol' screw-Luz. Her mother, Camila, knew something was up, because Luz would stay in her room all weekend. Even on schooldays if she could. Camila was good to know seclusion wasn't healthy. Mama Noceda would talk to Luz through the door, as much as she wanted to chat face to face. "Luz, you're not planning on spending the next weekend in here, are you? There's more to life than being curled up on your bed."

"'Kay, Mom. I'll come out later, promise."

"Make sure you stick to it. Te quiero."

"Te quiero, mama."

But Luz never did. That night, she snuck out, wanting a place to cry, where no one could hear her. It wasn't like Luz to cry. The kid had gotten used to holding it back, many years ago. But she felt more emotional than usual today. Probably because she had lied to her mom. Luz decided that going deep into the woods, near that shack she had discovered recently, from her other sneak-outs, was a good place. So, she walked through the path she made for it and proceeded to slump down onto its steps and sob. She muffled it, having no good reason why, and cried for a good few minutes. Then Luz went silent. Reason being, she heard a screech. It was like a fork scraping across cutlery, with a woman's shriek shoved into its ambience. She ripped her head from her hands and stared at her surroundings. From the corner of her eye, she could make out a rectangle with a blinding light emitting from it.

'Luz, don't you dare go investigate.'

'Don't listen to them, Luz. One peek wouldn't hurt!'

'Curiosity killed the cat.'

'That's just a saying.'

'True, but it's also not an idiom.'

'Yes, it is!'

'My point still stands.'

Luz shook her head, snapping out of her internal debate. She tentatively trudged over to the inconspicuous light. When her legs had decided to finally get her to her destination, she peered at what seemed to be a portal to another country with...red trees? Luz blinked, and she reached out a hand. As soon as her fingertips made contact withthe 'portal', she was pulled through it, faceplanting into the path that stretched into the darkness. She heard a swoosh, and the definite portal had disappeared. The realisation she was trapped kicked in after staring at a red bush for a minute. She panicked and paced the short length of the path, which was another thing out of the ordinary for Luz, stopping dead in her tracks when shepicked up a rustling. "Who's there?"

A green-haired girl popped out from the foliage, staring at Luz.

"Uhm, are you having a panic attack? Should I just... walk by or...?"

"Yes I am, no, you shouldn't, where am I, what is this place!?"

"Did you walk into a tree? We're in the Boili- Are you a human?"

"Uh.."

The green-haired girl then took one glance at her ears, and gasped.

"What are you doing here? You- I- Go back to your realm!"

"What do you mean, my realm?"

Luz then copied the girl's gaze, staring at her pointed ears, and blacked out.
