When humans first arrived, they were a pain in his side. Always getting into things and causing problems. He even felt betrayed by trusting one. Then he showed up. Maxxor believed he was going to be yet another annoyance to get under his skin. However, this ebony haired human was, different. Upon the first meeting. This human had some redhead following him. The human went on a passionate speech concerning Maxxor. The orc didn't know how to exactly process this hero worship. Was it a ploy to let his guard down? Upon Frafdo threatening the red headed human, there was a flash of anger in the ebony haired human's eyes. That worshiping aura now gone replaced with a sharp tone. Which prompted Maxxor to threaten him in order to put him in his place. Upon leaving the cell the two were held in, he overheard the redhead talk about Chaor and how Chaor would never treat him that way. Which made Maxxor suspicious. Throughout that first encounter, that human was a bit hostile but there was a sense of understanding behind the way he looked at Maxxor. Telling the leader that this wasn't just some game to him and he had a name. Even so this Tom went as far as to help them escape from danger in the end. Along with the help of two other humans. Since then, Tom has been constantly helping the Overworld.

Ever since then, Maxxor has been observing humans. He couldn't really do much of this given the unrest between tribal conflict. However, he was able to do so with Tom. Tom was a great ally to him during those times. Though the redhead that followed him, annoying... Though there was clearly a strong unbreakable bond between them. Despite Kaz being a staunch supporter of the Underworld and fanboy of Maxxor's archrival, Chaor. Tom was different than the other humans. He wasn't self-centered and selfish. He had a sense of unwavering loyalty and justice. The more Maxxor spoke with him and spent time with him. The more friendly he gotten with Tom. He was trustworthy. Though... There was always a sense of unease. Maxxor was a busy creature with his duty as ruler. So sometimes Tom's presence was distracting and a tad bit annoying when Maxxor needed to focus. Tom eventually understood this silent complaint. As if he was able to detect Maxxor's annoyance with him. It was rather surprising considering Maxxor didn't want to exactly be rude to Tom. Though he greatly appreciated that Tom knew the appropriate time and place to visit.

Even now, that the war against the M'arrillians is over. Tom still respected the need for distance. Maxxor however wished to spend more time enjoying Tom's company. He isn't sure what exactly happened over the time they knew each other. That once passionate hero idolism was gone. Replaced by an odd sense of uncertainty in Tom. Was it something Maxxor said or did to cause this? He, himself, wasn't sure.

So, he began to really observe his friend's behavior. Upon doing so, he learned there was much more to Tom's feelings than originally thought. Tom was still the helpful person he was to those who needed it. As well as being assertive and partly aggressive to those who deserved it. There was a strong sense of justice in him. He also noted that Tom has a need for excitement and loved to chase after an adrenaline sort of high. A fondness for exploring Perim and enjoying the beauty surrounding it. He also enjoyed hanging out and going on adventures with his friends. Who, Maxxor found out, were supporters of the other tribes. Tom stood firm in his support for the Overworld. Kaz was a fanatic Underworld player. Sarah strongly preferred Danians. With Peyton enjoying the Mipedians, even if he was fine with any creature from the other tribes. It was strange how different their beliefs in their respective tribes were. They got along well and were good friends despite their differences. It was sort of admirable.

Even so, Maxxor kept studying how Tom acted around him. Keeping a fair distance between them when hanging out together. Doing mundane things like walking around Kiru City or even checking on various places within the Overworld. If anyone were to ask Tom on his stance of their friendship. He was a bit hesitant, as if unsure. Tangath had once told Maxxor that Tom had said "Maxxor is my friend." before the human paused and almost questionably corrected, "Well. I'm his friend." Which to Maxxor was, strange. Did Tom not feel their relationship was genuine? It may explain why Tom was the way he is now. Which honestly made Maxxor feel a bit bad about how he treated him in the past. It wasn't his fault he was busy and had to ignore him in favor of more important things. Tom probably didn't like being pushed aside. Though he did come to respect Maxxor's decision.

Tom was a good friend, and Maxxor wouldn't have it any other way. Well... Maybe they could be closer but that wasn't possible given Tom's best friend was Kaz. Maxxor wanted to be best friends, but he supposes he will accept being good friends instead. Still doesn't stop him from allowing Tom to wander freely in the palace. Though it was slightly concerning that Tom knew where Maxxor's chambers were and Maxxor has caught him in there from time to time. Even found Tom hanging out in his study. It was almost like he lived at the palace. The guards were understandably questioning if this was alright. With Maxxor having to reassure them that in fact, it was. Though Maxxor wasn't sure how to go about the fact Tom would randomly be in his bedroom. Not that he minded per say, just curious and confused. Tom did leave out of rooms when told, so that was a plus. He faintly recalls a passing conversation between Tom and Kaz. The latter teasing Tom about why he knew where that was. Tom stuttering a response, claiming it was because of fighting in the dromes. Though Tom knew where a lot of rooms of importance were. It would make sense to go there to see if Maxxor was there. Though if Maxxor wished to find Tom, himself. He would be in one of those rooms, the Armory where Bodal was, or possibly at Najarin's Castle. Seldom chance he was in Prexxor Chasm visiting Smildon.

When the two did have time to hang out. Besides the usual mundane things and walking around Kiru City. As well as when Maxxor wasn't checking on locations due to his duties. They would wander and enjoy the scenery of several locations. Maxxor would even see how excited Tom would be about going on a scan quest. Maxxor took the opportunity to see what a scan quest entailed. Which Maxxor quickly found himself snatching up Tom and hurriedly rushing away from more feral and dangerous creatures. It was to a point Maxxor even scolded him. Tom usually pouted and shrugged. His excuse was that it was part of the thrill. And the whole point of a scan quest was similar in a way to hunting. The prize at the end wasn't a kill to obtain food. The concept was however the same. Just instead humans get a scan to use in their drome battles. Maxxor could understand that. He just wished Tom would learn some form of self-preservation. To which Tom pointed out, his friend Kaz was far more reckless than he was. Great, now Maxxor is partly worried for Tom's friend. Despite how he didn't like the tiny menace. Though, he'll accept that Kaz is and will be an important person to Tom. And he rather Tom be happy to have such a close friendship. Another thing Tom pointed out. Chaotic players can reset their bodies when porting back to Chaotic. So, if they get injured or worse. As long as they port out in time. The damage done to them is undone. Though the only downside is, whatever they experience stays with them. Tom mentions offhand that his best friend got eaten by one of Mommark's creations. This resulted in Maxxor nearly choking on the drink he had in the moment. He'll have to have a word with Mommark, yet again.

One of the interesting things about Tom. Is just like his friend Kaz. Tom liked to collect other things besides scans. He would sometimes show up and show off a cool item he found while adventuring. They weren't that much of an interest to Maxxor. Though he was impressed by the number of things Tom has found. It was to a point that Maxxor eventually gave Tom his own room in the Palace. A place to store all the items Tom saw fit to keep. Apparently, the items are used to barter with creatures for other things, given the fact players can't exactly carry Perim money. Maxxor learned that when humans port out, whatever item from Perim is left behind where they port. That includes gold coins. So, it makes sense.

Another interesting thing about Tom and other humans, Maxxor has learned. Is that despite their body being code, they still experience hunger and thirst despite not actually needing it. Since these bodies of theirs aren't exactly real. However, they can still technically die or coded, as the players call it. At which point, the humans will no longer be able to exist in Perim. So, to some understanding. Maxxor has learned that humans in the world of Perim are both corporeal and discorporate at the same time. A rather astonishing discovery. Their actual bodies remain in their own world, or irl as the players call it. Whatever that meant. Still, Maxxor wasn't sure how to feel if something happened to Tom. It worried him more than he thought. Sure, he would still be alive in their world but in Perim... Maxxor would never see him again. So, in a sense he would in fact be dead by Perim standards. An unnervingly terrifying idea. Something Maxxor didn't wish to dwell on.

All in all, Maxxor enjoys the time he does spend with Tom. Despite everything that has happened with Tom that led up to this point. He will always treasure Tom as his friend. And he looks forward to what the future brings regarding his friend. He also hopes that the bond between them continue to grow and never waiver. He truly enjoys Tom being there to talk to.
