Intro Notes:

This story will belong to a two or three-piece series, one being 'To Mourn', another 'Black Mist', and, possibly, a third 'The Singularity'. 'To Mourn' and 'Black Mist' can be read as stand-alones, since it's the same story told from different POVs and focused on different pairings, 'The Singularity' has to be read after one of those, since it's the ending. (well, right now we have only this story so I am not even sure why I am writing this ).
Also, the first chapter is ultra short but then we'll have normal 5-10k, I expect.
The notes from now on will be at the end of chapters, not to distract.
Ah, and, of course, this is a canon ending fix-it so of course, it spoils manga ending.

Chapter 01 The End

888

His body was decaying. There was no stopping it. He was falling apart and these were his last seconds of existence, of being.

They said you could see your whole life when death came for you. They weren't wrong. You took one last glimpse at everything you had ever done and you died satisfied. Or not.

And when he looked at his own life that was ending... He knew one thing. His whole life was a lie.

The only real thing was hatred.

He hated heroes.

Now he knew he should have hated everyone. Every single person. Heroes, like All Might, villains, like All for One, civilians, like his father.

(Especially All for One.)

"Izuku Midoriya, if Spinner is still alive, tell him this, Tomura Shigaraki fought until the end to destroy."

The big emerald eyes were looking at him without loathing, without fear, the way they had been looking at him for a long time – seeing him for what he was. Seeing him as a person.

('vessel')

Seeing him as a human being to be saved not killed.

"And you did it."

Tomura's eyes widened at those words. He almost killed this boy, he almost killed his friends, and still, the boy's last words to him were not of hatred, not of anger, not even of pity. He said the words Tomura wanted to hear. He, to the very end, thought of what would be good for Tomura.

(A true hero, the only one, among those fakes.)

He was almost gone, the time was almost up, and he hesitated. All he had ever done and he wanted to do was to destroy. This was his whole life and he was happy to die having destroyed the one who...

(was his father figure, sensei, beloved, lied to him, manipulated him, ruined him, disdained him).

But the last thing he saw, the last thing he would ever see, were those emerald eyes, those eyes of someone who wanted to save him, help him, until the end.

The only true hero.

Stain was right.

And he would be Quirkless now.

With his dying breath, with a final effort, Tomura pushed all his will to do the last thing in his life.

And then darkness swallowed him as his body turned to dust.
