Mahaado and Nitesh were standing talking to Baniti when a man in uniform appeared before them. They were on guard not knowing what to expect.

"Greetings, my name is Hogan Mcbride."

"May I ask the name of my new king?"

"My name is Baniti."

"It will be my honor to serve you, King Baniti. May I have full permission to speak?"

Baniti thought that was a strange request but nodded and said, "You may."

"You may wonder why I am happy to serve a new king? I was hired as King Laguz personnel assistant but he assigned me to clean up after Prince Mako. His friends only started coming around last year. I have found out that they are Prince Shane Cady from Elam Trabia. Prince Jounouchi is the next in line for the throne and Shane is his middle brother of five siblings. Prince Wayne Christensen from Breena Carr he's Princess Tea's youngest brother. He's the youngest of six. So he will never see the throne. Princess Tea is the next in line. Prince Sweeney Chikatilo of Zakaria. He's Prince in name only. He's illegitimate. He was born when King Hybrid was a young and foolish prince. He got a girl in his college pregnant. He was given the title prince and they were paid off. But he eventually married Queen Gia of Arethousa. They met and he helped to teach her more English and she taught him her language of Achaikos. Together they have a daughter named Rebecca and a younger son named Drystan. His aunt wanted him to go to school in Arethousa. The king was against it but eventually caved as his wife loved the idea. He lives with his aunt Lady Ona Nass and his uncle Lord Owen Nass. I have no clue as to why he's allowing the heir to the throne to live in another country but that's not in me."

"What exactly do you mean by cleaning up after Prince Mako?" Mahaado asked curiously.

"Every time one of the girls gave birth I was given the task to dispose of the child."

"How many children did those bastards have killed?" Baniti asked.

"I do not have the number of children that were born. This started when the Prince turned 13. I don't know what snapped in his head but he had a thing for girls ages 11-14. He kidnapped a young girl and when I caught him I had him confess to the king. I had hoped the king would seek treatment of some kind. Instead the king slapped this bracelet on me and said I was forbidden to do anything more than to help cover for his son. I could tell no one."

"So how are you able to tell us?" Prince Nitesh asked.

"He said I was bound to obey the crown. That I couldn't speak to anyone about this. I could only speak when given permission by the crown."

"I can't believe they forced you to kill innocent babies." Baniti said, upset.

"Yes, he told me to dispose of them. He never used the word kill. Although I'm sure that's what he meant."

Nitesh was the only one to catch the way he worded it. "You didn't kill any of them did you?"

"The only ones I buried were ones that didn't survive childbirth or died shortly after."

"What did you do with the infants?" Nitesh asked.

"The first time I was so shocked I freaked out and just found a random house in the kingdom and dropped the child off. But it was brought to the king's attention and well you might have noticed he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. I was able to manipulate his memory enough to get him to realize that it couldn't be traced back to Prince Mako and I'd never do that."

"It didn't look like it'd take much to manipulate his pea brain." Mahaado said.

"Yes after that I just opened a portal to anywhere and the first time was to an orphanage and after hearing complaining after the door opened I put the second on the steps of an unofficial orphanage."

The three men cocked their heads, "Unofficial orphanage?" Baniti asked.

"Yes when the orphanage is overflowing with more children than they can handle they usually send older children or problem children to the unofficial orphanage. Potential parents can adopt from there. But most generally the children are sold to people like Prince Mako. They need money to survive and usually when they try to go legal by asking the king or queen they are rejected as they see no need for two or more orphanages when the official one is barely funded."

"If you knew that, why did you leave the baby there?"

"I didn't know until one of Mako's friends bragged about snatching a girl from there. I asked more questions about the unofficial orphanage and was disgusted. So I looked and next time I was given an infant I left so they'd never suspected anything. Then modified a lost and found spell. I searched for a couple desperate for a child but unable to have one. Not just this kingdom, any kingdom. Then sent the child with a spell attached to a note. If the couple truly wanted the child only fearing the parents returning for it. They would only need to pick up the attached blank paper and once both have touched it it becomes an official adoption certificate and their memories go from finding the baby to meeting a young woman and agreeing to adopt her baby. The spell won't affect anyone else unless they try to contradict the narrative. Like how they live in the house too. Whether temporarily or permanently. The moment they touch the note or child their memories will also suddenly change. I rarely wavered from this story. A few times especially in heavy magic kingdom's like the Star Kingdom I've had to physically change my appearance to look poor and offer them the baby claiming anything from my sister, gf or wife died in childbirth and I can't care for the child. Only 2 couples ever rejected me and only 1 doorstep delivery failed."

"Wait, you came into my kingdom and dropped off one or possibly more of these children?" Mahaado asked.

"Why is that a problem? Sorry but even if I wanted to I didn't keep track of each parent."

"You should have come to me and told me what was happening!"

"Yeah, that's rich coming from the guy who married a 11-12 girl. If you had only taken her sooner you would have more than one child by now. Besides what part of his being magically unable to tell anyone but his king wasn't clear."

"Would you lay off! I told you why I married her!"

'Perhaps I was wrong in my faith in these people.'

"Marriage wasn't the only option. The two of you could have kidnapped the girls and the little sister. Then went to war! If the king was truly under some sorta spell then I doubt that the troops would listen to the queen."

"We don't really know what type of control she had on him. These troops were lazy and incompetent. The Sky Kingdom's troops are not. Even combining forces it would have been a long hard battle. Have you ever been in a battle?" Nitesh asked.

"Well, no, but…"

"When you do then you'll have room to talk. Besides my father, the king would have had a fit if I'd come home with a kidnapped Jasmine and started a war, rather than married, saved from execution and no war."

"I wasn't exactly eager to jump into a war. My advisors would have blown their tops."

"You do as you please King Mahaado. I am going to go get ready for the ball. We're going to be late as I'm sure it's already started. Good luck with your new Kingdom King Baniti." With that Nitesh bowed to both before leaving.

Mahaado signed, "He's right. I'm sure, what was your name again?"

"Hogan Mcbride, sire."

"Right, perhaps he can help teach you how to run a kingdom. Diana, will be cross with me, if I don't get there soon myself. I'll keep my word and give advice if you call and ask for it. Farewell." With that Mahaado left Baniti to figure out how to run a kingdom.
