It's been OVER A YEAR since I last updated this story. I'm sorry I've been off for so long. I've been going through a mix of work & procrastination and have mostly just been reading fanfic instead of writing it.

If you're a follower of this story and/or any of my other works, I'm sorry for not updating my story(ies) for a long time.

I'll apologize more at the end & let you all know what my plans for the future are. Right now, LET'S GET TO THE NEW CHAPTER!

Episode 3 – The Conformatorium (Part 1)

Jonas had a clear goal of travelling to Gravesfield Island, CT. He managed to accomplish that. However, things didn't turn out how he expected when he got there. Hell, things went astray before he even set foot on the island.

First, he gets robbed from a delinquent girl and then when he goes to get it back, he comes across a mysterious woman named "Marilyn", who not only was using a fake name and dealing "prescription drugs" illegally, but apparently ALSO had abilities similar to Jonas's own, a Stand. To make matters even more difficult for the young man, she learned that Jonas has his own secrets too that he preferred stayed secret. So in order to keep her from turning him in, he has to go along with whatever she wants from him.

She was kind enough to patch up his injuries from their little brawl with a first-aid kit she had in her tent. Afterwards though, she instructed him to follow her. With a hood up to cover her long hair, she led the young man through the outskirts of the island to their destination.

Jonas: Mind telling me where we're going exactly?

Eda: Lets just say where we're going and what we'll be doing will be fun.

Jonas: Somehow I doubt that.

After a couple more minutes of following the Owl Lady's lead, she stopped and the teen did the same as he walked next to her. When he looked in the direction she was looking, what he saw wasn't what he was expecting.

Jonas: Wait. Is this….?

What stood before them was a tall tower-like building that was about 3 stories high. However, what really gave the younger stand user an idea on what this place were the words that were above the front entrance, "Gravesfield Police".

Eda: The Gravesfield Police Station. The island's only jail and holding facility.

After Eda said that, she could feel Jonas staring daggers at her.

Eda: What's that look for?

Jonas: If whatever we're about to do is here, than how do I know you're not going to double cross me and leave me here to be questioned by cops while you run off?

Eda could tell by his tone that he had serious distrust in her and that his guard against her was still WAY up. There was something about it though that made Eda wonder why he had such trust issues. To try and soothe his distrust, she turned to him and looked him straight in the eye.

Eda: Calm down would ya! I may be a wanted woman, but I'm not a scumbag. I'll admit what we're about to do here is risky, but I'm taking just as much risk as you are. Either we both succeed or we both fail. It's not gonna be one gets away while one stays behind. I promise you that.

After looking her in the eyes, Jonas could tell Eda was being truthful in her declaration. There wasn't a hint of deception in her stare. Jonas sighed out his nose as he decided to move forward with whatever it is the Owl Lady was planning.

Jonas: (Turns back to look at the police station) If this is the only holding facility, I take it that mean those guilty of major felonies are transported off the island to max security prisons on the mainland?

Eda: Nope.

Jonas: Huh?

Eda: If anything, I'd rather take my chances and go prison. State or federal than come here.

Jonas: Seriously? (Looks at the Police Station) Is this place really that bad?

Eda: Doesn't matter how bad the crime someone commits is. It could be something as bad as murder to something as small as simple loitering. Rumor has it that anyone within holding here will go through such harsh treatment and brutality that they wind up completely different people. Its why this place is often called, "The Conformatorium".

Given what he's just learned, it's clear why Eda has done everything in her power to avoid being brought here by the local authorities. Of course, now, that very place is right within their sight.

Jonas: If this place is so bad, why are we even here?

Eda: Because right now, they have something in there that they will be using as evidence against me. If we don't get it back, I might as well call this place my new home.

Jonas: So, we're pulling off some sort of heist?

Eda: Bingo! Originally, I was gonna have Luz be my partner in this, but a job like this would work better if a team of two had two stand users instead of just one.

Her saying that made something click in the teens head.

Jonas: Hold on, that Luz girl doesn't have a stand?

Eda: Nope. I haven't known her too long, but if she did, I would've seen it by now. Besides, the kid already has enough problems in her life. It's better if she doesn't get involved in something like this.

Jonas: (Glares at Eda) But, it's better if I do?

Aside from that bitter thought, Jonas was surprised that the girl he followed didn't have an ability like his or Eda's especially considering that she works for the older woman. Of course, he just learned that his power is called a "Stand" and that he's not the only one to possess one. That being said…..

Jonas: Eda, is it safe to assume that there are other Stand users in this station?

Eda: It's definitely possible. Especially if they're working under her thumb.

Jonas: Her?

Eda: Don't worry about that. Remember our deal, you help me with this, and I'll forget that I ever saw you.

Jonas: Before we do anything though, care to tell me what exactly we're stealing?

Eda: Let's just say that what we're after is something in the station's evidence room.

Jonas still wasn't entirely sure what he was getting into, especially given everything he learned about the building in front of them. Heck, he still wasn't sure if he could trust Eda 100%. However, he reminded himself about Eda's look of determination and declaration to taking such a gamble. He knew she was serious and had no intention of backing out. So, it's only fair that he should do the same.

Jonas: Got a plan?

Eda: Yep. I've been brought here once or twice, but because I have Free Bird, I got out before they even put me in a holding cell. Of course, I took a couple mental notes on what's in there and what needs to be taken care of before we can move in.

Jonas was hesitant to believe she actually had a solid plan, but even though he's only known her for just a few hours, he's learned that she does think before she acts. A habit he does acknowledge.

Eda: Obviously, we're gonna have to put up with any cops that are still in the building. If my hunch is right, most of them are patrolling different parts of the island and some are simply off duty today. So, it's safe to assume that there are likely 6-8 cops at most in there. Thankfully, this station is understaffed at the moment.

Jonas: Can't you just make an anonymous call to the police about a disturbance or a fake crime taking place in town? Won't that draw the remaining police out of the station?

Eda: Nah. The cops on patrol are likely to respond first. When they see there's nothing going on in town, chances are those in the station will be suspicious and have their guard up. Trust me, this is the better scenario for us.

Jonas: There's still only two of us against the rest in there. Even if we have Stands, they will probably have weapons on them. Not only that, even if we do somehow pull this mission off, they're sure to have camera's in there ready to record us.

Eda: (Snickers) You think I don't know that? That's where YOU come in kid.

Jonas was confused, but quickly put together what Eda had in mind and realized that Smooth Criminal was perfect for this job.

Jonas: (Summons Smooth Criminal and quickly disperses many crows)

The SC crows began to fly towards the building and quickly separated in groups and surround the building. In doing so, Jonas could see many cameras and had his birds fly towards them and chew up or disconnect the wires that connected the cameras to the station's monitoring system.

Back with Eda, she was impressed at how this young man caught on to what she was planning.

Eda: Not bad kid. Now, (Tosses Jonas a bandana, sunglasses and a pair of gloves) put those on and get ready, cuz we're about to make our move (Puts on her own gloves, sunglasses and wraps a bandana around her the lower part of her face).

Jonas knew now that the sunglasses and bandana would be used to keep their identities concealed as soon as they enter the station. He's assuming the gloves were to be used to keep them from leaving any fingerprints behind. Afterall, if they were going to pull off a heist at an actual holding facility, its best if they don't leave behind any evidence at all.

Within building, there were around 6 police officers sitting at their desks while 1 officer sat alone at the welcome desk as he watched over some screens that were supposed to show surveillance around the station. For some reason though, some of the screens were simply black and the words, "Signal Lost" appeared.

Cop #1: Huh? What the hell?

One of his fellow cops noticed his friend's confusion and made their way towards the front desk.

Cop #2: What's wrong?

Cop #1: The camera's outside. For some reason, the damn things just shut off.

Cop #2: What? (Looks over at the monitors) How did that happen? Didn't we just have maintenance checks on these things?

Cop #1: If we did, then our maintenance guys clearly do crappy work. (Gets up) I'm gonna go out and see if I can do anything.

Cop #2: (Follows after him) I'll join you.

In just a matter of seconds, both cops exited the station to look over the security cameras. As soon as they did though, a new pair of S.C. crows quickly flew into the building through the door the cops just exited through.

When the crows landed themselves onto the now empty front desk, they looked around to see if anybody noticed them.

Outside the station, the user of the crows could come to one conclusion.

Jonas: From the looks of things, nobody has noticed my crows.

Eda: Have one of them scout out the rest of the station. Also, take care of the cameras in there too.

Jonas nodded as he did just that. While one S.C. Crow stayed at the front desk to keep an eye on the remaining cops, the other one flew throughout the interior of the building. Along the way, the lone one flying on its own was sabotaging any cameras it came across. Luckily, there weren't as many cameras as Jonas thought there would be. He also took note of everything his crow saw.

Jonas: Aside from the cops, I see a waiting area with a vending machine, a weapons armory, a janitor closet, the restrooms, a drinking fountain….

Eda: Anything about an evidence room?

Jonas: I'm seeing some closed doors. One of them is a door with a small window with bars. I'm guessing THAT's where all the holding cells are.

Eda: Try and see if there's anyone in there.

Jonas's crow flew up to the ridge of the small barred window to see through the window if there was anyone in the jail cells. Upon inspecting, he noticed an odd feature for the room that holds detainees.

Jonas: Woah, talk about "old-school". The walls in these cells are made of old-looking stones. It's like this room is some medieval dungeon or something.

Eda: (Uninterested) You don't say? See anybody in there?

Even though Jonas could see what the walls were made of, it was still dark to get a good view inside. However, he could see some silhouettes within the barred rooms.

Jonas: It's hard to identify, but I see at least 3 people. Each in separate cells. From the looks of it, they all seems to be lying down or sleeping.

Eda didn't show it on her face, but she was mentally concerned. She doesn't know what those three did to get thrown in there, but given the reputation the conformatorium had, she doubts they were simply "sleeping" because they were tired or bored.

Still though, she didn't come here for them, she came because she had something to get.

Eda: Alright, what else?

Jonas couldn't help but wonder if they really were resting or if it was something else. He put the thought aside for now to get back to scouting.

The same bird was flying through the halls looking for their objective room. What it saw next wasn't that, but something Jonas was concerned about.

Jonas: I see what looks like an office. There's a big window with open blinds on the inside and a door right next to it. There's a sign next to the door. The sign says… "Chief Wrath"

The second he said that, Eda's eyes widened slightly as she knew that name well and didn't like it.

Eda: You said the blinds are open right? Try and see if there's anyone in there.

Jonas commanded his crow to do just that. Looking through the blinds, there was nobody in there and nothing in there that would set it apart from an ordinary office.

Jonas: It's empty. Nothing's really standing out in there. Just a big desk with a computer, a chair and a bookshelf with dozens of books on it. But as far as I can tell, there's nobody in there.

Eda: (Eda sighs in relief) Then it looks like we're in the clear. Keep looking for the evidence room. I've got some business to take care of with those two (Looks at the cops outside maintaining the cameras).

Eda slowly, yet confidently made her way towards her targets. Jonas couldn't help but wonder about Eda's worry and relief when he was searching what seemed to be the Police Chief's office. Did Eda have worries regarding the supposed "Chief Wrath"? Of course, if he's not there, then it shouldn't be something Jonas has to worry about.

The owl lady slowly, quietly and yet casually made her way over to the two officers who were currently trying to fix the cameras outside the station. The cops were unaware of their incoming visitor as they were busy.

Cop #1: What the? The camera's wires. It looks like they were pulled out of the cameras themselves.

Cop #2: What? How did that happen?

Eda soon summoned Free Bird right next to her. As she got closer, Free Bird swung its fist down.

WHACK

WHACK

(Free Bird knocks out both guards by punching them in their heads.)

Eda: That takes care of them. But just in case.

(Free Bird touches the stun guns both cops had on their police belts)

Jonas made his way towards Eda. Curious about what she just did. Eda looked his way and explained her action.

Eda: I just had Free Bird here give their stun guns a little job. If they regain consciousness and begin to get up, they'll shock their own owners. Just like how a hostile animal acts when it gives a warning to anything it deems a threat.

Jonas: Even if they get shocked, a stun gun can only incapacitate them for so long right? A couple seconds? Maybe even a minute or two at most?

Eda: That's exactly why we have to get moving. Free Bird was able to knock them out for a while, but not forever. So, we gotta get rolling. But first, I need you to use your crows in there to bring all the remaining cops to one location. Lets say by the entrance.

Jonas wished Eda would've warned him ahead of time that she would need him to do something so quickly. Jonas still had a crow at the front desk with the remaining officers close by at their own desks, oblivious to the Stand bird and another one making its way back to the same location. Luckily, he had an idea to bring the cops to the front door.

Over with the remaining officers, they were busy doing deskwork. The expressions on their faces could make one see they were just itching for their radios to go off saying fellow officers are requesting back-up at a location away from here.

One of the boys in blue decided to go the front desk/waiting area and get a snack from the vending machine there. As the officer was deciding what to eat….

TAP

TAP

Officer #3: Hm?

The officer turns around to hear the source of the tapping sound. It came from the front door. The man was confused though as he could see through the door, that there was no one there. The cop decided to go back to deciding his snack. That wouldn't last long though.

What the officer couldn't see was that one of Jonas's crow's from outside the station was responsible for making the sound by pecking on the glass door.

TAP

TAP

Getting annoyed, the officer looked back to the door he looked at before to find the same result, NOBODY THERE.

Officer #3: Alright, what's going on? (Stomps over to the door and opens it up) I swear, if it's some brat pulling a ding dong ditch or something, I'm gonna-

As he opened the door, the result was the same as what he saw when simply looking from the vending machine, NOTHING. Nothing but dark night sky and the outside of the station.

Officer #3: What the? (Closes the door)

As he just stood there, one of the remaining policeman noticed his partner seemingly staring into space.

Officer #4: Hey, what are you doing?

Officer #3: I- I don't know. I thought I heard someone or something tapping against door. But, there's nothing out there. The tapping stopped too. So what's-

PECK

Suddenly the officer felt something intense poke the back of his neck.

Officer #3: AHH! (Slaps the back of his neck)

Officer #4: Huh?! What's wrong?

Officer #3: Hell if I know. Something pointy just jabbed the back of my-

PECK

PECK

PECK

The same officer found himself feeling the weird pricking feeling again. Three times at once on 3 parts of his body: The left side of his neck, left arm and right knee. Soon enough he was feeling himself getting pricked in multiple places at once. As a result, h's slapping himself all over, trying to stop whatever's making him feel this way. Doing this though, made his partner question what was going on.

Officer #4: OKAY, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH YOU?! (Turns his head to the direction of the other officers at their desks) Hey guys, get over here! Something's not right here and I don't know what it is! He's acting like a lunatic!

The remaining boys in blue came to the front entrance were perplexed at what they were seeing. One of their fellow officers was down on the ground slapping and itching himself as if he had a severe rash.

None of the officers could see that the one responsible for these unknown pokes was the Smooth Criminal Crow that the officer unknowingly let in when he opened the door. Now, both it and the two crows that were already in the station are now pecking the now panicking officer.

Outside, the two stand users were ready for their opportunity to enter. Jonas was certain the time is approaching through the eyes of his crows.

Jonas: That's it. The remaining officers are all together at the front entrance. One of them is on the ground dealing with my crows and the rest are looking down away from the door.

Eda: Nice. (Summons Free Bird and makes her way to the front door) This is where I take over.

Back at the entrance, the officers standing upright had no idea what was going on with their friend on the floor.

Officer #5: What the hell's going with you?! Ya got fleas or what?!

Officer #3: I don't know! Just help me! Call an ambulance if you have to!

WHACK

WHACK

WHACK

Officer #3: Huh?

Suddenly, the suffering cop didn't feel anymore poking. Unfortunately, he was shocked to see his buddies knocked out on the ground next to him. Before he could see what caused this….

WHACK

The last officer was now knocked out as well.

Standing next to the unconscious lawmen was Eda with Free Bird right next to her, crossing their arms and Eda wearing a smirk on her face. She then had her Stand do the same thing to the stun guns they had on their belts as she did with the already senseless pair outside.

Eda: Welp, that takes care of the cameras, & the cops. (Looks at the cops) Thanks to Free Bird, if any of them start to regain consciousness, their own stun guns will knock them out again. I'm gonna disable the radios too.

As Eda took the radios each cop had on their person and worked to turn them off, Jonas was watching things through the eyes of his mini winged-stand(s) that were hanging out on the edges on the outside of the building itself. So far, he couldn't see or hear any incoming police cars. If they move fast, they should be in the clear. However, the teenager couldn't help but notice how "too well" things were going for the pair of thieves. He would think that breaking into a police station and assaulting officers would be make things WAY MORE difficult than this.

Eda: Hey Jonas.

Jonas: Hm?

Eda: I've already disarmed the radios. Lets get to the evidence room.

Jonas looked around the front area of the "conformatorium" and wondered if there was more to come. But until then, he had to get moving before the officers regained consciousness.

(Jonas quickly catches up to Eda)

Unbeknownst to the two, there was something coming their way that would make things as difficult as Jonas had feared. As well as Dangerous.

Over at an unknown location, looking to be a private study, a bulky and towering figure covered in shadows, was sitting at his desk with a police scanner in front of him.

?: All units, this is Police Chief Wrath, requesting updates from all units and officers on duty! Respond.

Unit 1: This is Unit 1 responding. No updates.

Unit 2: This is Unit 2. Same here on our end.

Unit 3: Unit 3, Nothing unusual.

After a couple seconds, the chief was expecting more responses. More specifically, any officers that were pulling the late-shift back at the station. But none were responding. The chief grew suspicious.

Wrath: The fact that there's nobody from the station is answering means something is up. It's not like all of their radios to simply malfunction at the same time.

Unit 2: All officers at the station, please respond to Police Chi-

Wrath: There's no need. All units on duty, carry on with your patrols.

Unit 2: Uh, right. Understood.

Unit 1: Understood

Unit 3: Roger.

Back at his desk, the mysterious head of the officers stood up and made his way out of his personal space.

Wrath: If I had to guess, it's possible some of the people we had thrown in, broke out and pulled something. Of course, after I had my "interrogations" with them, I have my doubts (Grins). The only other possible explanation is that someone infiltrated the station and incapacitated all my officers. In order to do that, they'd have to be a stand user. And there's only one I can think of that's actually reckless enough to do such a thing. I guess I'll have to see for myself, if The Owl Lady really is there.

With Eda & Jonas now the only two people in the building still upright and conscious, they made their way to the evidence room with ease thanks to the young man who remembered the directions thanks to his crow that was soaring around earlier.

They eventually found the metal door with a sign saying "Evidence". Although it was locked, Jonas noticed Eda searching through her long hair. After a couple seconds, she pulled out a small packet of what looked like lock picks.

Jonas: What the? You had something like that….. in your hair?

Eda: Oh please. You'd be surprised how many good's I keep in here. (Brushes her hand against her hair)

At this point, Jonas shouldn't be surprised at how many tricks this woman had up her sleeve. Or in this case, hair.

After a minute of picking the evidence room's lock, Eda was finally able to hear the clicking sound that enabled her to finally open the door.

As Eda opened the door, she held up her hand in order to silently communicate with Jonas and signal him to send a crow in there. Although confused, he obliged and had Smooth Criminal pluck out another feather and throw it through the opening as it morphed into his signature crow.

As the bird entered, he saw why Eda had him send one inside first. There was another camera.

Jonas: Should've figured there'd be cameras in an evidence storage. Better to make sure no one would contaminate or tamper with evidence.

Soon enough, the bird made it to the side of the camera and unplugged it. As it did, the older woman couldn't help but get excited.

Eda: BINGO!

They both saw that there were many shelves with dozens of bins & containers. Each one with different sets of numbers on it.

Eda: Damn, I was hoping they'd sort the evidence alphabetically by last names of detainees. Oh well, guess I'll look through the ones with the highest numbers, since I'm assuming those are the most recently collected evidence.

Jonas: Maybe I can help. What exactly are we looking for in here?

Eda: Nah, you just focus on keeping an eye on the place with your crows. Make sure nobody is leaving or entering.

Her answer only made the teen more suspicious of her. Eda hasn't answered any questions regarding what it is she's looking for. In fact, she seems to avoided giving a straight answer entirely.

Then again, even though Jonas could multitask by watching and looking though confiscated items that were marked as evidence, it would be difficult to focus on both his crows and trying to find whatever it is Eda is searching for, especially when she's being very vague about it.

For now, all he could do is comply with Eda's order.

Jonas: (Nods) Alright.

After a few minutes, the owl lady was still searching through each bin, container & envelope, hoping to find what she came here for. Of course, she was careful to not leave fingerprints behind by still wearing gloves.

Eda: Any updates kid?

Jonas: Nothing so far. No cop cars in sight and the officers both inside AND outside are still out cold.

Things were looking good for Eda. The fact that things are going swimmingly right now are just what Eda was hoping for. Now, it was about to get better when she picked up a big clasp envelope.

Eda: Woah. Wait a minute. Hold the phone. (Opens up envelope, looks inside & smiles) YES!

Jonas: You found it?

Eda: Yep, we can get out of here.

Eda was ecstatic that they managed to pull it off. Infiltrating the rumored "conformatorium", knocking out all the officers guarding the place and now finally obtaining the evidence that Eda needed. Mission Accomplished!

But not over yet.

BREAK

(Jonas's fingers bend as blood begins to drip from his nails.)

Jonas: AH!

Eda: !?

(Eda rushes to his side as she looks at his hurt finger)

Eda: What's wrong?!

Jonas: I don't know, something must have happened to one of my crows.

Eda: Huh? By what? I thought you were eyeing the place.

Jonas: I was! I had crows on the outside and inside of the station. Nobody entered or left. The cops outside and inside are still knocked out where we left them and the only other people in this building are in the holding cells. There's only 3 of them: A male & two females. From the looks of it, none of them seem to be aware of what's going on outside their own cells.

The owl lady knew something wasn't right.

Eda: The only thing that could've taken out the kids birds would have to be a Stand. But, if the cops are still down, then one of the detainees could be a Stand user. It's possible one of them is a police mole and is faking being down. But there's one thing for sure. (Grabs Jonas's wrist and pulls him alongside her) WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW!

DOOR SLAMS

Jonas & Eda: !

(Eda rushes over to the door and attempts to open it to no avail)

Eda: What the hell? I can't open it up! Something's heavy leaning against the wall.

CLICK

Eda: Damn it, now it's locked too.

Jonas: I don't understand. I had crows right by the cops. I didn't see any of them wake up or even move a muscle. I even had some by the front and back doors and nobody entered from either one. How the hell did someone get in without one of my crows noticing?

Eda: Kid! Snap out of it! Help me out here! We have to get out of here before-

?: I knew it. The Owl Lady herself decided to grace this place with her presence.

Eda & Jonas: !

Jonas had no idea who this was as he's never heard this voice before. Eda on the other hand, recognized it as she let go of the door's handle. It was the voice of someone she's crossed paths with before when she was first brought here.

Eda: Wrath.

Jonas: Wrath? (Eyes widen in realization) That office. It belongs to this guy. The Police Chief of this station!

Wrath: Out of everyone here on the island, there was only one person I could think of who'd be foolish enough to actually invade here. And it seemed as I was right.

While they were trapped, Eda knew that things have now escalated to quite a dire situation. If he already knew she was here, there was no point in trying to be anonymous anymore.

Eda: (Nonchalantly) Congratulations. What do you want? A freaking medal?

Wrath: Even in the presence of authority, you still manage to pull off a brave face. Of course, I can't see if you're actually wearing one on the other side.

Eda was just itching to throw a dozen punches at the man arrogantly trapping them.

Eda: (Grins) Why don't you open the door and find out?

Wrath: I would, but right now, I'd recommend we do some "negotiating".

Saying that only confused the two stand users trapped in the room.

Wrath: If I were you, I'd listen and think well while you still have time.

Jonas: Time? What's that supposed to mean?

Jonas soon noticed something about their situation. He realized that the evidence room they were trapped in was suddenly feeling toasty. In fact, it got warm too quickly.

Jonas: ! (Looks at the Door) Shit! Don't tell me. Is he…..?

The teen got closer to the door and was reaching his arm out to it. Before he could even touch it, he felt heat coming off of it. The two captives realized what was going on. It was as if the door was slowly baking out in a hot summer sun. It would only be a matter of time before the two of them get baked.

Wrath: My Stand, Tormentor, is capable of heating up anything I come into contact with. Like the metal door I'm leaning against right now that's keeping you in there. With thermal conductivity occurring, the door heats up and you can feel the heat emitting on the other side. Add to the fact that this room you're in has no ventilation or windows, I can practically make this evidence room into an oven!

The two captives hated to admit it, but he was right. They didn't realize before, but there was indeed no way for cool air to get in. No windows. No AC vents. Nothing.

Jonas was looking around to see if there was anything in the room he or Eda could use to bust the door open. Eda on the other hand, despite the room being heated, kept a cool head.

Eda: I wasn't really expecting this guy to have an ability like this, but if all he's doing is leaning against the door, then all we have to do is get him off of it. It's a good thing I made some "friends" on our way to this room.

As she thought, the "friends" she mentioned, were the stun guns that Eda brought to life with Free Bird. The shock weapons left their unconscious officers belts and slowly made their way to Eda when they sensed her danger.

Despite the situation seeming dire, Jonas noticed his partner's calm expression on her face. Wanting to know what she was up to, he looked through the eyes of one of the crows Wrath hadn't attacked yet at the front desk and had it fly to their location. On the way there, he saw at least three stun guns moving on their own and going the same direction as the crow was with one target in mind, Wrath. Jonas could see the upcoming target's shape and he was definitely big and heavy enough to block a door.

Before the stun guns fired at the Police Chief, Jonas noticed something about the man leaning against the door. More specifically, something he was wearing.

Jonas: Is that….? Eda wait!

ZAP

The woman grinned as she believed she managed to land a triple dose of volts at the condescending chief.

Eda: Got him!

Wrath: Were you hoping that would work?

Eda: Huh?

Eda's grin turned into a look of disbelief as she heard the man's voice and could still feel the heat coming off the door.

Eda: What the…? One shock from the stun gun should've at least put him on his knees for a guy his size. Three of 'em should've done the trick. Why the hell didn't it work?

Jonas: Eda, the stun guns didn't hit him. They hit…..

Wrath: Oh, did I forget to mention that my Stand itself also acts as a shield for me?

Eda:?!

Jonas could see it through his crow. Wrath is definitely a person with a muscular build. What could be seen aside from that, he appeared to be wearing a tan colored suit with purplish-grey patterns shaped like outlines of flames. Attached to the suit was what looked like a rectangular helmet-like hood that covered all of his head except with a thin egg-shaped window for his face to see through.

Jonas: This Stand. It's like he's wearing one of those special aluminized suits firefighters wear to protect themselves from heat. Ironically enough, this bastard is using it to literally bring the heat.

Wrath: If you insist on making futile attempts to get me off the door, then it's only a matter of minutes before it gets too hot in there and you succumb to heat stroke. So, I'll say it again, I highly recommend you listen to what I have to say Owl Lady. Oh, and also, (Looks at the crow) you might want to tell that accomplice of yours to mind their manners too. (Reaches up to grab the crow and squeeze it)

(Another one of Jonas's fingers snaps and bleeds)

Jonas: AH!

Eda: Kid!

Jonas: (Radiates his Stand aura) Smooth Criminal!

(The crow in Wrath's hand reverts back to a feather)

Although still in pain, from newly broken finger and the one from earlier, the pain stopped once he reverted the bird back to a feather.

On the other side, Wrath brought the feather closer to him to inspect it.

Wrath: Interesting. So your partner's a Stand User too huh? I don't know anyone around here that's capable of such an ability. (The feather combusts into a flame)

Jonas: Around here? Does that mean this island has more Stand Users?

Wrath: But lets get back to our little interrogation. Remember, just as the clock is ticking, the temperature is rising.

It was getting warm enough to the point beyond normal sweating for the two. In fact, it was getting too hot for part of their disguises.

(Both their sunglasses become to hot to wear on their faces that they toss them away)

Jonas: Damn, even our sunglasses were beginning to melt. This is bad. If our body temperature goes beyond 104 degrees farenheight, we could pass out. (Looks at Eda)

Eda hated to do this, but she would have no choice but to hear the crooked Police Chief out.

Eda: Fine! Spit it out already.

Wrath: I was hoping you'd say it more nicely, but I'll make an exception this time. Anyway, first I'll start by giving you a rundown of what you and your partner will be charged with.

Eda & Jonas knew this guy was just loving every minute of their misery and thought he would just LOVE the idea of them passing out.

Wrath: According to the State of Connecticut, given how you've trespassed here, a police station, you could spend 6 months in here. But, add to the fact that you've assaulted at least 6 officers, could give you a maximum of 10 years for EACH ONE!

Both of them were gritting their teeth. Eda could possibly face up to 60 years in the slammer. For Jonas, even if he's a minor, he still involved himself in a couple felonies in just one heist. He could be charged as an accessory to all of it. The last thing the guy wanted was to be put away. Especially after everything he went through before reaching this island.

Wrath: Of course, I AM willing to look the other way on charges like that.

The two sweating prisoners took an interest when they heard that. Of course, the man must want something in return if he would really be willing to turn a blind eye.

Wrath: There is ONE condition though. Eda Clawthorne…..

The two were sweating and just wanted the man to spit it out already.

Wrath: I want you… To go out with me.

Eda: Whaa?

Jonas: Huh?

Perhaps the heat was finally getting to them. None of them were certain they heard him right. Maybe they were overheating and it was affecting their minds.

Wrath: You've always eluded capture. You've always been the one who got away. I've found it quite alluring.

Now they were certain that they were hearing him right. Of course, that didn't stop them from thinking how RIDICULOUS that sounded.

Jonas: Is- Is he serious?!

Eda: You…. Want me to what?

Wrath: What I've said couldn't have been clearer. I can make it look like you never set foot here.

Eda: You really expect me to believe you? When your subordinates wake up, they're gonna wonder what happened and want to investigate. Even with you as their boss, there's no way you can just sweep this under the rug without raising suspicion!

Wrath: (Smirks) Then it's a good idea you brought someone with you.

Eda & Jonas: ?

Wrath: If you comply, I can tell my men, that your partner in there with you was responsible for all of this!

Eda & Jonas: !

This is just what Jonas was afraid of. He just knew that before they even set foot on the property, there was a chance Eda could simply turn him while she made off with the evidence she needed. And now, Wrath here just handed that opportunity to Eda on a silver platter.

Wrath: Think about it Eda. You accept me, we can make your partner here take the fall for all the crimes that took place today. You make him the scapegoat and all charges against you will be his alone to face. Even if he denies the allegations, all it takes is MY WORD as the chief here to back YOU up while his is shot down.

The fact that this corrupt cop was willing to try and convince Eda to throw him under the bus like that just for a few dates made his blood boil. With or without the help of the heat.

Jonas: (Looks at the door) This prick. (Looks over at Eda as shadows cover her eyes) Of course, If I was her, I'd consider taking the deal. Afterall, in this world, it's better to prioritize your own self rather than others. I doubt that guy will actually turn a blind eye after only a few dates. He'll probably hold it over her head for a long time just to keep himself quiet about what really happened here. It's not like she has any other choice.

The two were struggling to stand steadily as the heat was beginning to become too much. Chances are, they had a minute at most before they passed out. Eda had to make a choice right now in order to get him to release his ability.

Wrath: So, what do you say? Eda?

The Owl Lady wasted no time answering.

Eda: Eat shit.

Jonas & Wrath: ?!

Wrath: Wha- What did you say?

Eda: You heard me asshole. I said, and I quote, "EAT SHIT!"

Jonas was just as confused as hearing Eda's response as Wrath was. If Eda accepted his deal, it would look like she was never here. Plus, she doesn't even know Jonas all that well aside from his name & Stand. It's would be easy to let go of someone you know nothing about.

Eda: You think I'm gonna accept a deal from a guy who'd torture people just to get what they want? GET REAL! I'm gonna go on a limb here and guess those guys in your holding cells downstairs suffered from your Stand.

Jonas realized Eda was on to something. The people being detained were all lying down in their cells. As if someone had hurt them pretty badly. Or in this case, suffered from heat-related torture and were currently trying to cool off. Wrath is the only one the teen could think of that was capable of doing something so cruel.

Eda: I'd rather roast like a turkey than hold hands with a prick like you!

Wrath didn't like her answer. Within his Stand, he was gritting his teeth in frustration. He put many people arrested by his men through Tormentor's hell and they all suffered so much that they agreed to respect the law. Henceforth, why the "Conformatorium" rumor was born. He heard that The Owl Lady was a stubborn one and hard to catch, but even in the face of life imprisonment or even death, SHE STILL REFUSES TO COMPLY.

Wrath: Fine! Have it your way. Enjoy your heat stroke! When you come to, I'll be looking forward to seeing the judge throw the book at you!

CLICK

Wrath: ?!

Wrath looked around his surroundings frantically. He recognized that sound. On the other side of the heated door, Eda heard it too. She knew what it was too. She just couldn't understand what was going on.

Jonas: You know something Eda, you've got some MAJOR guts. I just assumed you were the type of crook that'd work in the shadows and play it safe. But to toss aside a deal of safety just like that? You're one crazy lady, and I can't help but respect that.

Over with Wrath, he looked in the direction he heard the noise. It was coming from a hallway on his left connecting to the one he was in right now with the evidence room. He wanted to walk over and see if his fears were true, but couldn't afford to take himself off of the door in worry of letting his prisoners go. Instead he saw it in a matter of seconds.

He witnessed 2 crows. One that crow flying while holding a GUN along with another crow that had managed to wrap itself around the weapon while its right foot was right where the trigger was. And the gun was aimed right where Wrath was standing.

Wrath: H- how did…? (Eyes widened) Did Eda's accomplice have more crows lying in wait around here? Did they have the crows act remotely and pick up a gun from one of my fallen officers?

Jonas: You know Eda, I've noticed you've been doing a lot of the heavy lifting during this heist. I think it's only fair that I do the same.

(The crow on the guns trigger squeezed it)

BANG

With a lone bullet incoming, Wrath could see it was incoming right to him. More specifically, towards his head. As if time had just stopped, Wrath had to think quickly.

Wrath: Dammit! Tormentor can withstand some stun guns, but it isn't strong enough to withstand bullets! Especially at my head! I have to get out of the way!

(Wrath leaps to his right and avoids getting hit by the bullet)

Wrath: That was too close. (Looks at the crows with the gun and lunges towards them) I have to get that gun away from them before they can fire another shot!

(Wrath grabs the gun, swats the bird holding the gun and quickly pulls the bird on the trigger away from it.)

Wrath: Got it! I don't know who Eda brought with her, but now I have to get back to the door and-

CLICK

Wrath: Huh?

The clicking sound was different than the one from the gun. It sounded like something was… being unlocked.

Wrath: Dammit! The door!

(The Evidence Room door slowly opens up)

Wrath: But… I locked it. Even though I left, the door should still be hotter than a heated oven top. It couldn't have cooled off so quickly. So how come-

Wrath soon figured things out when two figures walked out of the room and face towards Wrath, ready to face him head on. One was a young man the chief has never seen before while donning sunglasses and a mask to cover his face. THIS must've been the partner Eda had. The other figure Wrath recognized was Eda herself with her firsts clenched. However, Wrath noticed that Eda's right fist was pink and had tiny blisters on it, indicating that it was burned.

Eda: It hurts like a bitch, but some first degree burns are worth it if it meant having my Stand give the door free will to unlock itself and kindly open up for us. Thanks for getting your fat ass off of it. It was still hot, but cooled off just enough for me to risk getting a few burns.

Wrath: Damn you!

Jonas: Personally, I'd want a couple minutes just to cool off. Honestly, I think it's a miracle we didn't overheat. But I think it's safe to say you're not going let us go so easily.

Wrath: OF COURSE NOT YOU MORON! You were attempting to shoot an officer! I'm gonna make sure you two are punished for your crimes!

Eda: Our crimes? Like you're one to talk asshole!

Wrath: Huh?

Jonas: She's right. I'm pretty sure what you put us through, along with those down there in holding is Police Brutality. Personally, I don't give a damn if you are the chief of police. If you think you're above the law just because of that title you have, then we'll be glad to show you that is a useless way of thinking!

Eda: Count me in Kid!

To Be Continued…

Stand: Tormentor

Stand Master: Wrath

Destructive Power: A

Speed: D

Range: E

Stamina: A

Precision: E

Development Potential: E

Abilities: Wrath wears his Stand like a fire proximity suit. When he uses his Stand, anything he makes contact with becomes hot through transference. He can get as hot as 1200 degrees Celsius. This is enough to make concrete melt depending on its composition. It also acts as a thin layer of armor. He himself has resistance to the heat he emits while inside his suit. However, the higher the temperature he uses, the more energy it takes & makes it difficult to maintain control of his Stand before he has to call it back.

SCENE!

First of all, I want to give a special shoutout to a fellow author here on FF, DeathlyJazzHands55! Their story, "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Darkness' Guiding Light!", another TOH x JoJo fanfic, inspired me and snapped me out of my "writers funk" to get back to working on THIS STORY. Thanks for the story and I hope you update that story soon! I recommend any JoJo and/or TOH fans to read it!

Anyway, back to the story.

For Wrath, I decided to make him a Police Chief in this story instead of a Warden from his TOH counterpart. When it came to his Stand, I based it off the fact that he used fire breath in TOH's very first episode. So I figured, "Why not make his ability fire/heat related". Also, I based the appearance/function of his Stand similar to his TOH counterpart, which is basically his purplish-grey skin & warden uniform, along with Ghiaccio's (Golden Wind) White Album. Only, instead of ice, Wrath's suit-like Stand literally brings the heat lol.

Again, I'm sorry I've been out of it for over a year. But, I'm planning on being more active with this and maybe my other stories as well. I've also come up with ideas for new ones as well.

Please Review, Favorite or Follow. I'll see you all Next Time!
