Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or Spider-Man. I do not own the original story this is based on.

"Odessa," Black Cat repeated. Green eyes stared off with hazel eyes for what felt like hours. A cock of her head and she gave a small coo, making Odessa roll her eyes.

The third-wheeling ghost boy zigzagged his gaze between the girls silently. The tension was so thick, he couldn't quip through it. Phasing, he stared at Black Cat and her arched form. Her hands were out, but no claws were seen.

"I take it you're acquainted?" Danny finally said as his gaze bounced between the girls.

"That's confidential." Odessa strode forward. Her arms kept to her side as she gave a dangerous stare towards Phantom while her eyes darted to Black Cat every few seconds. Unlike the ghosts in Amity Park, her gaze gave the impression of a hidden danger, almost unnerving the ghost boy. "And let me guess, you're Davie Phantom."

"That's Danny Phantom."

"Does it matter?" Odessa blew him off with a hand wave. Her poker face pushing down on the boy as he readied a fighting stance.

"Okay. I'm just gonna end this now," Danny's left eye twitched. Rocketing off his position, he went fist first at the new thief. Whoever she is, this girl was now going to know not to mess with the protector of Amity Park.

His fist was a foot away before it are contact with the air. A pale wall cracked in wind while white bolts surged through Danny's body. A flash of light repelled him past the wall, which only remained intact due to his intangibility.

Black Cat stared at the wall where Phantom would crash, turned slowly back to her old acquaintance.

"So, still listening to 80's music?" Odessa sniggered as she solemnly stood. From the collar of the catsuit, a chained medallion was pulled out. It was ancient with hollowed, glowing eyes that dimmed.

The kitten flexed her claws. However, the sight of a cat ready to scratch did not seem to threaten the ex-friend, who tucked the medal back in.

"Think you can take on me?" Odessa teased, hands behind her back. "I assumed so, other wise, you're living on a prayer."

"Funny." Felicia's voice was dry. Her legs moved sideways with long slow steps. The heels of her boots barely clicked on the floor as she watched Odessa sauntered, making the two circle each other.

"Odessa, I know you aren't here just for a social visit...so what's this about?" Felicia's demand was met with momentary silence. Only the clicking of heels was heard as eyes stared off.

"Isn't it obvious? My. My. You've lost your touch."

"Just tell me. Over the phone, what you spoke of." Vocal tones lowered. Despite words barely heard above a whisper, tension rose as the girls continued in their dare off. The rules were simple. "Do you really think stealing from them, and the target, will bring things back to before?"

"I thought cats were patient."

"Odessa, the New York branch has lost its credibility Ever since we lost the formula. Nothing will change that."

"And as I said, I found a way to bring back honor to the guild." Odessa walked up with a bright smile. She leaned into Black Cat's face, stopping only millimeters away. She was practically sharing breath, feeling warmth.

Black Cat-no Felicia froze. She could not tell if it was the words or part of her past rising up, but all attempts to move her body were in vain. Her green eyes caught the smug smirk in the darkness as the girl backpedaled a few feet.

There was so much to take in as the kitten heard the repeated phrase of restoring honor and reputation to the local branch. She was trained with this fact, but it never bothered her, only enticing her to be more daring, aim higher. The better the prize, the more notoriety gained. For her and the guild branch.

"So, you gonna say how it's done?" Black Cat purred.

"So your little ghost boy can fly in and hear everything?" Odessa darkly chuckled. Leaning forward, a hand was placed inside the vest pocket. "But maybe that's why he's here. You let him follow you. And while that seems like a stretch, even for you, I highly doubt he'll get in the way." A sly smirk appeared on Odessa's face, veiled by the darkness as she wagged a finger. "I did my homework."

Danny dusted himself off. Manhattan's streetlights and night sky telegraphed his location as he stared at the exterior of Horizon High. The amulet repelled the ghost boy further than he expected. From the edge of the road, he sighed, contemplating what happened just now.

"Okay. Felicia's old friend has an anti ghost...medal." Danny sighed at the last word. "And I don't think it has anything to do with anti-ghost tech, like my parents. Just my luck."

Knuckles were cracked as the ghost boy stared at the school campus. First round went to Odessa, but she would not win the match. Or that was the idea in his head, but the buzzing of his phone interrupted his thoughts.

At first, it was ignored, but by the third attempt the bumbling device was annoying. This left Danny no choice but to answer.

"Hello?" Danny droned as he kept walking. He did not check to see who called, more concerned about Felicia, and not because he cared. He definitely not cared. no matter how many times he repeated these thoughts in his head.

"Dude! You're never gonna believe this!"

"Mikey?"

"Who else?" The ninja turtle's suave tone was telegraphing the smirk held on the other end of the line.

"I...wasn't expecting a call from you. What's up?"

"Ok, so me the my bros are chilling tonight, doing patrol stuff, and then we see ghost birds. With fezzes! It was awesome. Leo said to ignore them, but I said, 'you know who would like this?' You!"

Danny blinked, pausing his strides as he focused on the call. "And so you called. Do you know where they are, right now?"

"Yeah. I followed them. They're downtown, causing trouble. Some news anchor is there to with these guys called the Extreme Ghostbusters. Spider-Man's there too. He's fighting these weird ghosts the birds are ordering around."

This was all Danny needed to hear as he took to the sky. Tonight was growing out of control, growing an urge within the ghost boy to take control. He stared at Horizon High and the probably cat fight happening while is attention zigzagged between that and the ghost vultures.

"What's the tower called?" he asked solemnly. His gut told him he was going to regret this.

Odessa weaved around the punches, bringing her arm up to block the kick. Her feet slid back from the collision nearly unbalancing her stance. "Not bad," she complimented "But don't forget where you learned your moves."

In response, a black heel was spun towards her head. The thief barely had time to react as her arms flung up, blocking the kick. She felt her body shoot back a few inches, barely able to keep balance.

"I remember." Black Cat slowly reeled herself in as her leg lowered to the ground, her heel clicking on the floor. "If you ask me, You don't seem to remember how we split. You don't know everything I know."

The kitten lunged forward, claws out, with a cool face. Her opponent stepped to the right, but it did not deter her as she landed hands first. A sly smirk grew as her talons dug into the floor, allowing her to redirect the kick at Odessa. This time, there was no time to guard as the foot dug into the latter's stomach.

The wind was knocked out of Odessa, who said nothing. Break falling onto her front, she pushed up with her hands at the same time and getting back up. For a moment, her upper lip curved up, flashing teeth at the tongue-clicking kitten.

A smoke bomb was thrown, blinding Black Cat. Arms were put up for a guard, but Odessa bypassed it, returning the attack with her own kick to the stomach. The Cat's smirk dropped as she stepped back, allowing for another kick aimed at her head to swing over. It was limboed, forcing the thief to complete the sway of her foot while keeping balance.

The tables turned again as claws stopped against the flesh of her neck.

Odessa and Black Cat were now in a stare off with the latter smiling coyly.

"So. About your little heist with a certain group?" Black cat cooed.

"Whatever you say, it's still going to happen. A theft like this would earn respect for the Guild." Odessa dauntlessly leaned her head forward as she allowed the claws to digs softly against her. Her skin threatened to break, but she only grinned in assurance while she spoke. "And I've found a way to bring back certain traditions. Surely you remember the Demon?"

"The Demon?" Black Cat searched her mind. The name sounded familiar yet dangerous. A sense of dread grew upon repetition of the name before finally recollecting its importance. Perfectly white teeth snarled as the kitten went wide eye.

There was no way He would be involved.

"The Demon's Head? Are you crazy!? Thieves and Shadows are barely at peace! What are you thinking?" Black Cat almost screamed, retracting her claws to grab at Odessa's vest.

"What happens when the Guild leader hears of this?"

"Felicia." A smile plastered itself on Odessa's face. Whatever worries or concerns present were distant. "Whatever he hears will be pointless when I find a way to restore dignity to the branch."

"By working with the Shadows?! Do you know what that means?"

"Yes. But that's the least of your worries. You should see what we found within the last few years. Have you ever heard of zero-point energy?"

Odessa brought her hand out of her pocket, flashing a metal gauntlet against the glowing reach of the streetlights that entered through the windows. A blue light radiated from the hand as a pulse emitted from it, encasing Black Cat, freezing her in place.

With all his supernatural might, Danny zigzagged amongst Manhattan's skyscrapers. The sight of OsCorp Tower came into view as fire lit up rising smoke that dissolved into the night. Seems nothing was going his way, but that always seemed to be the norm. Down below, he could see firetrucks and paramedics racing towards the building.

Chaotic was the keyword as his speed rocketed, flying to the tower in minutes.

What awaited him was more than he thought. The entrance lobby at OsCorp Tower was blockaded with rubble from the balcony. Broken hexanal widows decorated random floors as sparks were seen nearing the roof. As every nearby cop around took charge and made perimeters, an explosion erupted from the pointed roof.

"That seemed to be the eye of the storm, or at least where the action was at the moment." Danny was proven correct in snarky assumption as he flew above to see a certain ghostly committee perched on the handlebars of an helipad.

The trio seemed bored as they surveyed the soot, craters, and sparks decorating the landing.

"Are they done yet?" The lead vulture nagged, looking at the imaginary watch on his wing.

"I don't know. Whoever these ghosts are, they're not very good at finding stuff," The glasses wearing vulture said.

"At least we got some more help here. Who was it that sent them?" The last bird asked.

"Please, do tell. I'm just dying to know why you three are here, terrorizing this place." Danny's sarcasm, apathy, and frustration poured out his voice as he hovered silently behind them.

With a jolted jump, the birds flapped off, diving instinctively through the rooftop as the ghost boy followed. They checked behind them as the floors changed, hurriedly changing flight path in their panic before the flood of fear turned to a trickle.

Through the next floor, they thought fast, turning invisible before the ghost boy caught up. Without any kind of trail, he was left to investigate for new clues to follow. But the sound of destruction was everywhere, making it difficult to discern where to go.

"Great. Explosions everywhere, and no directory," Danny snarked, looking everywhere. He placed a hand to his ear, listening for anything discerning. "When in doubt follow the explosion."

Suddenly he felt his ghost sense immediately go off, while hearing the sound of an ectoplasmic blast behind. Using his quick reflexes and fast reaction speed, Danny was able to dodge the sneak attack by doing a flawless back flip. The half ghost boy then turned around to face whoever tried to blindside him.

That was the plan, or at least it was supposed to. Before anything, three ghosts appeared, surrounding him. Grotesque was the best word to describe them, able to be mistaken for lab experiments than ectoplasmic entities.

"Alright. Let's make this quick." Danny cracked his knuckles.

The elevator dinged from around the corner, but nobody paid any mind. However, that allowed four proton beams to snap onto the abominable ghosts. Ectoplasm crackled as shrieks of pain echoed in the room as the ghost boy turned to the source.

The locker wall of Horizon High stood strong as Black Cat landed against their steel cushion. That was going to hurt in the morning but it did not matter as a locker from the opposite wall flew towards her. It was slow and easy to dodge but the hurler was the real problem.

Odessa pointed a gauntleted finger at another locker. Blue energy shot out, encasing the bin before ripping it off the wall. The throw was the same as last time, slow, only because its pitcher swayed her arms at the toss.

It was clear as day how she was playing with the kitten.

"I admit, your new toy looks fun, but stolen tech can only go so far," Black Cat quipped with a flash of her green eyes. She could not help smiling as she watched the gauntlet spark. Before Odessa could react, the zero point energy exploded around her, freezing her in place.

A sultry walk teased the motionless thief as the kitten began to dance around her prey. The opportunity to play would not last, however, it was more of making the former squirm in anticipation.

Nothing was spoken. Only a little dance was done before the kitten crouched in over exaggeration while she reeled a fist back.

Odessa could not even make her eyes wide as she saw the fist fly at her face with the full weight of the kitten behind it. Fear and anger escalated as the fist made contact, only for the zero point energy to encase the kitten. The impact of the punch could be felt continuously contacting her cheek, waiting for the rest of the impact to occur.

The energy around the girls flickered and waned, but held them frozen in place. Only the hallways clock away was heard with its ticking echoing in the room.

Danny saw the three grotesque ghosts swirling in agony as Kylie captured the spirits using the patented ghost trap. With machinal steam whirring as the lid clasped shut, and the ghosts were incapacitated.

Thanks," Danny quipped with a smile. "I'm glad you guys are here."

"When there's something strange and it don't look good, who you gonna call?" Eduardo quipped.

"I cannot believe Perry suggested that for our new slogan," Garrett chided the only missing member.

"You guys want him to join us here?" Roland's question was meat with a collective shake of heads. While they appreciated Perry, the boy could be too much.

Kylie rolled her eyes with a mirthful smirk. Soon, her gaze went towards Danny, who was listening at the alarms going off. The explosions had stopped, yet it felt like the calm before the storm. You alright?" she asked.

"No clue. To be honest, I'm seeing this as too much of a coincidence that ghosts are here while I'm here." Danny looked around the room, now noticing how empty it was of anything of importance. "And something tells me I'll find out why in another room."

"Go." Kylie brought up a PKE Meter, going haywire in every direction. "You can cover more ground than us."

"No duh!" Eduardo gripped the scanner away from the girl. "We're here because we got a call."

The two began to argue as the ghost boy sighed. There was no telling Vlad's target and standing around was doing nothing.

Phasing to the next floor had the ghost boy expecting to enter some kind of laboratory, researching and testing the latest technological advancements. He was partially right, but rather than some experimental facility, this was an Armory with rows of weapons.

"What is all this stuff?" Danny looked around, astonished. "It's like something out of a sci-fi movie."

Everywhere he looked it seemed technology had advanced by decades. Everything on the walls was enough to make his friend Tucker drool faster than an all you can eat steak buffet. There was no making heads or tails of this stuff. All he knew was it was expensive and Vlad's bird brains were trying to steal it.

Some designs were recognizable, such as the suits, guns, and grenades, all bearing similarities to something from a videogame. Except for the suits of armor, which held a more goblinesque appearance. These were all lined up along the walls and on shelves.

And the three vultures were there too. Engrossed in their work, the committee was busy attempting to carry out the suits they never saw Danny fire at them. All it took were a few well aimed ectoplasmic beams and they were down.

"Not gonna lie, I was expecting you back up to put up a better fight than that. Or did you three seriously think that you all could handle a mission ordered by Vlad by their yourselves?" Danny asked, getting ready to used his thermos again.

"Who says we came alone?" The lead vulture smirked, snapping his wing as suddenly, a bunch of ninjas appeared and surrounded him.

"Ok, ninjas!? This is a new one even for-Wait. Are those the same ones I saw at the museum?" Danny cracked his knuckles. His enemies did not respond beyond their dead stare and warbled beeping, serving to make the boy smile.

"Right. Robot ninjas. This is so gonna be easy."

Ectoplasmic energy circulated out of the ghost boy, forced into an orbular form that grew to a two foot diameter. With a bowling pitch, the globe flew at the nearest bracket of cybernetic warriors as they stood still. An explosive collision followed as a smug pose was struck, only to disappear as the mechanical menaces stood intact.

"Hey, what gives? I thought these guys were like bought in packs. Like the cheap stuff at Walkmart," Danny sulked.

The ghost boy sighed, lowering his shoulders as he saw the ninjas lunge. He turned intangible, walking forward as he intended to bypass these mechanical reinforcements and deal with the vultures. But all teenage apathy died as a storm of fists connected everywhere, forcing his progress to a halt.

The half ghost hero was caught completely off guard as he repeatedly pummeled by dozens of metallic punches and kicks randomly striking him all over his body, despite the ghost boy using his intangibility ghost power.

"Ok. Anti-ghost, robot, ninjas," Danny said from the floor. "That's not good."

"Then, let's make it better." Came a familiar neighborly voice. Once Danny turn his head to the source of that familiar sounding voice, he saw that it was indeed his friendly neighborhood all Spider-Man. And the web slinging hero wasn't alone either. in came the Extreme Ghostbusters along for the ride for one of the most unexpected of team ups to rescue Danny Phantom.

"Do my eyes deceive me or are that a small army of robot ninjas? Are we about fight a bunch of robot ninjas with a superhero?! Please tell me that we're about fight a bunch of robot ninjas with superhero!" Garrett asked with excitement in the tone of his voice. His wheelchair shivered to the point the bolts would have popped out.

"Why the heck are their robot ninjas in a high-tech high school of all places?!" Eduardo shout out of confusion.

"Only in New York can something this outlandish even happen, that or Canada," Roland said.

"Enough chitchat boys, let's just these mechanical warriors that we can handle robots just as well as ghosts in a fight." Kylie ordered her team with ecto-pistol ready.

Danny nodded at the back up, turning towards the vultures with a triumphant grin. Looks like it was time for another epic showdown.

The Zero point energy slowly dispersed as the girls' fight resumed, snowballing from a snail's pace. Odessa winced the punch went through, intensifying the pain. Skin slowly rippled as the fist dug deeper.

Less than a minute, the blue glow dimmed as Black Cat rocketed the girl to the wall. Rolling into the ground, the kitten brought herself back upright

Pleased with herself, the kitten got up and blew a kiss at her opponent.

"Just remember, corner a cat, get scratched," Black Cat teased, turning away. "And next time you wanna steal from high profiles, don't include me. I'm just a girl who wants to have fun."

The moment was cut short as the kitten looked around, now noticing she was short one ghost boy.

"That's strange. Where's Danny?" Black Cat did not move from her spot, unaware of what her ex-boyfriend was doing. The silence in the hallway sent a bad vibe shivering down her spine. Her mood became broody as the seconds passed.

Anxiety hit her as a laugh grew. Odessa's voice grew as she got up.

"You think that's strange?" Odessa's voice was alarmingly calm as it accompanied her wicked smile. "Call me crazy, but like I said, I did my homework. And no, this did not just involve the amulet." She stood straight up and dusted herself off.

"I did my research. From the moment I called you, I've been preparing for just in case you little boyfriend showed up with you. So I've been paying attention to every bit of traffic coming in and out of New York."

"Your point?" Black Cat flexed her claws. Her chills continued to dance around her spine.

"There's a heist going on tonight. I may not know all the details, but it seems it's being employed by someone from Amity Park." Odessa smirked as she saw the kitten's eyes widen like saucers. "I wonder if he caught wind yet of ghost troubles at OsCorp Tower."

Black Cat turned to the side, sprinting towards the exit. In all her enthusiasm, she did not realize how long this fight had been going on. Ignoring Odessa was a mistake, but her heart was pulling her in the other direction. By the time the slip in judgement hit her, the kitten had already ran out the campus and began grappling across the street.

But it was too late to go back. Odessa would have been long gone by now with no trail.

With no other choice, she made her way to OsCorp Tower, where she saw Danny on a nearby rooftop, watching as firefighters put out flames. Reporters flooded from the new vans, demanding answers as they raided anyone they met with questions, save for the Ghostbusters, who were leaving in the Ecto-1.

The same was said for Spider-Man, who was seen swinging away.

"How long did that gauntlet keep me busy?" Black Cat asked no one as she took a spot next to her ghost boy, who was silently staring at the tower.

She sat with a leg dangling from the roof edge. Her face held the bruises her catsuit covered. The night had been rough to both of them as exhaustion overcame the ghost boy. The teens sat quietly as they watched the paramedics and firemen handle the situation down below

"So...arch nemesis?" Black Cat turned an eye at Danny.

"That's a word for him," Danny replied bluntly, keeping his eyes on the tower. "He sent vultures to steal suits. I would have handled things with Spider-Man and the ghostbusters, but the ninja robots proved enough of a distraction for them to steal all this tech."

"This is sounds like its going to be bad to worse."

"Definitely. How'd things go with Odessa?"

"The same way here. we fought, I got distracted, didn't notice you were gone till she revealed doing all this meetup during this heist to distract you. Can't say I don't admire her skills in this business."

"Mmm-Hmm. Let me guess, she tried to cut you in on a big heist?"

"Seems like it, but she doesn't trust me enough for the full details."

They sighed, blending their sides against each other for support as they watched fires put out. The iconic siren of the Ecto-1 wailed as it drove into the neighboring city blocks.

Danny could see the Extreme Ghostbusters smiling at their triumph and given respect. He wanted to share in that sentiment, wishing he could call this a victory. He knew better as Vlad was now planning something and this time, he wasn't alone. While there would be plenty of encounters in the future, the older halfa always played his moves like a game of chess, and this ghost boy still did not know how to play.

Felicia turned her heads towards Danny. "This is our life, huh?" she said in a soft, low voice.

"Welcome to my world," Danny snarked with a dry chuckle.

"I think you mean, our world." A small kiss was plant on the ghost boy's cheek, making him blush in static reaction. "And I don't think I'd have it any other way."
