You were sleeping soundly on the couch catching up on some rest after what happened at the asylum, that is until you were woken up by Sam raising his voice into Dean's cell phone. You sat up and groggily wiped your eyes as you looked over to see what was going on. "W-we're fine. Dad, where are you? What? Why not?" Sam asked into the phone.

"Is that dad?" Dean asked as he sat up in bed. Once you heard it was John you were widen awake.

"You're after it, aren't you? The thing that killed Mom? A demon? You know for sure?" Sam asked.

"A demon?" Dean asked as he put a shirt on. "Wh-What's he saying?"

"You know where it is?" Sam asked. "Let us help. Why not?"

"Give me the phone." Dean asked Sam as he held his hand out.

"Names? What names? Dad, wh-? Talk to me. Tell me w- What's going on." Sam asked into the phone. Dean stared at the phone with a shocked look on his face. You weren't sure what to do, so you waited for Sam to finish on the phone before getting involved. "No, all right? No way."

"Give me the phone!" Dean yelled at Sam. Sam showed a frustrated look on his face with tears in his eyes as Dean took the phone from him. "Dad, it's me. Where are you? Yes, sir. Uh...Yeah, I got a pen. What are the the names?" Sam had such an angry look on his face that you were worried about what was going to happen now. Especially after what the three of you went through at the asylum.

You guys left early in the morning, even before dawn had a chance to rise, to get to the town where the next job was at. "All right, so the names Dad gave us, they're all couples?" Sam asked as he drove the Impala.

"Three different couples, all missing." Dean stated as he was looking up information on the missing couples.

"And they're all from different towns in different states?" you asked from the backseat.

"Mm, that's right, yeah." Dean mumbled as he was flipping through the information fast. You'd never seen him work so hard or fast before. "Washington, New York, Colorado. Each couple took a road trip cross-country. None of them arrived at their destination or were ever heard from again."

"Well, it's a big country they could be anywhere." Sam pointed out.

"Do they share any of the same pit-stops? Maybe they stopped in the same town and something happened there." you suggested.

"Exactly Y/N, each one's route took them through the same part of Indiana. Always on the second week of April, one year after another after another." Dean explained.

"This is the second week of April." Sam commented.

"Yep." Dean agreed.

"So dad is sending us to Indiana to go hunting for something before another couple vanishes." Sam pieced together.

"Yahtzee, but we have our own couple right here in the car." Dean stated as both you and Sam looked at him for a second. "So Sam wanna rock-paper-scissors to see who has to couple up with Y/N and be bait?"

"Hey, I'm right here you know." you glared from the backseat. "Maybe I don't wanna be bait!"

"Well it's either you and one of us or an innocent couple." Dean said.

"Fine..."you grumbled in the backseat as you folded your arms.

"Can you imagine putting together a pattern like this?" Dean asked as he looked through John's journal. "I mean, the different obits dad had to go through? The man's a master." Suddenly Sam parked the car and turned the engine off. "What are you doing?" Dean asked as he looked over at Sam.

"We're not going to Indiana." Sam stated.

"We're not?" you wondered.

"No, we're going to California. Dad called from a pay phone. With a Sacramento area code." Sam explained.

"Sam." Dean growled.

"Dean, if this demon killed mom and Jess, and dad's closing in, we gotta be there. We gotta help." Sam argued.

"Dad doesn't want our help." Dean argued back.

"But I don't care." Sam stated.

"He's given us an order." Dean growled.

"I don't care." Sam growled. "We don't always have to do what he says."

"Sam, dad is asking us to work jobs, save lives." Dean explained. "It's important."

"All right, i understand. Believe me. But I'm talking one week here, man. To-To get answers. To get revenge." Sam explained back.

"All right, I know how you feel." Dean said.

"Do you?" Sam asked as he scoffed and shook his head. "How old were you when mom died? Four? Jess died six months ago. How the hell would you know how I feel?"

"Dad said it wasn't safe. For any of us." Dean stated. "I mean, he obviously knows something that we don't, so if he says to stay away, we stay away.

"I don't understand the blind faith you have in the man. I mean, it-It's like you don't even question him." Sam retorted.

"Yeah, it's called being a good son." Dean yelled. Then Sam opened his door and got out of the car and Dean followed him. "You're a selfish bastard, you know that? You just do whatever you want, you don't care what anybody thinks." You got out of Impala to try and stop Sam from leaving.

"Sam I know you want to find your dad, and of course Dean wants too also, but there's a couple who are probably gonna die if we don't save them." you reasoned. "John can handle himself, he's been doing it for twenty-two years. That couple won't stand a chance though."

"Y/N stay out of this!" Sam snapped."That's what you really think?" Sam asked as he grabbed his backpack out of the trunk.

"Yes, it is." Dean stated.

"Dean don't say that to him, we don't want Sam to leave." you cried as you turned to face Dean.

"Well, then this selfish bastard is going to California." Sam growled as he started walking away from the car.

"Sam you can't go, it's the middle of the night." you cried out.

"Watch me." Sam stated as he turned to look at you and Dean.

"Hey, I'm taking off, I will leave your as, you hear me!" Dean shouted.

"That's what I want you to do!" Sam taunted at Dean.

"Y/N you make your choice it's me or him!" Dean growled.

"Dean, Sam, come on you two!" you yelled.

"Y/N, go with Dean!" Sam ordered. So, you got in the front seat next to Dean as he started the engine and drove away. You watched through the back window as Sam's figure got smaller and smaller...

You and Dean finally made it to the town in Indiana where all of the couples have gone missing each year. "You should call him." you suggested. "At least to make sure he is all right."

"He made his choice." Dean growled as he drove through town.

"Dean, call him or I will." you growled back tired of the brothers fighting all of the time. You regretted not spending more time with your own siblings now that they were dead. Dean sighed as he stopped the car and pulled his phone out. Then he closed it and put it back in his pocket, stopped the engine and got out. You followed him as you pulled out your own phone and tried to call Sam, but it went straight to voicemail. "Damn it Sam! Why do Winchesters gotta be so stubborn?" you grumbled as you followed Dean.

"Let me guess. Scotty." Dean said as he walked up to a man sitting in a rocking chair outside the local cafe.

"Yep." Scotty replied as he folded his hands.

"Hi, my name's John Bonham, and this is my girlfriend F/N F/L/N." Dean introduced. He decided to still use the fake couple plan since it would probably get you guys the quickest answers.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you." you greeted as you shook Scotty's hand.

"Isn't that the drummer for Led Zeppelin?" Scotty wondered.

"Wow. Good. Classic rock fan. Heh-heh." Dean chuckled.

"Yeah his parents were avid fans of Led Zeppelin." you explained as you smiled lovingly at Dean. You wanted to sell your cover the best you could.

"What can I do for you, John, F/N?" Scotty asked.

"We were wondering if, uh, you've seen these people, by chance." Dean said as he gave some missing persons papers of the couple who went missing last year.

"Nope, who are they?" Scotty asked as he examined the papers.

"They are some friends of ours, they went missing about a year ago." you explained. "They passed through somewhere around here, and we've asked around Scottsburg and Salem-"

"Sorry." Scotty interrupted you as he handed the papers back to Dean. "We don't get many strangers around here."

"Scotty, you got a smile that lights up a room." Dean beamed as he smiled at Scotty. "Anybody ever tell you that?" Scotty just stared blankly at Dean as he chuckled awkwardly. "Nevermind. See you around."

"I think he knows a lot more than he's letting on." you muttered to Dean after you got out of ear-shot.

"You think?" Dean mumbled as he grabbed your hand while you two were walking, to sell the fact that you were a couple.

The next place you checked out was the Jorgeson General Store. "You sure they didn't stop for gas or something?" Dean asked the store owner and his wife as he showed them the papers.

"Nope, don't remember them." The store owner answered. "You said they're friends of yours?"

"That's right." Dean confirmed.

"Yeah, they actually introduced us to each other. Thanks to Holly I met the love of my life." you gushed as you leaned into Dean.

"Did the guy have a tattoo?" A girl asked as she was carried some boxes down from upstairs.

"Yes, he did." Dean replied as you all looked at her.

"You remember?" She asked the store owner as she examined the papers. "They were just married."

"You're right." The store owner agreed with the girl was he held his chin thinking. "They did stop for gas. I forgot, weren't here for more than ten minutes."

"Do you remember anything else?" you wondered.

"I told them how to get back to the interstate, and they left town." The store owner explained as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Could you point us in that same direction?" Dean requested.

"Sure." The store owner answered.

After getting directions Dean drove towards the interstate. "Glad we are out of there, that town gave me the creeps. Everybody seems off except for the girl who helped us." you commented as you looked at the map.

"Well we can't know if they are involved or not until we find some proof." Dean stated as he drove. Suddenly the EMF reader activated as you started driving past a orchard. "What the hell?" Dean wondered, he glanced back at the duffel bag.

"I'll get it," you said as you reached into the backseat and pulled out the EMF reader. Dean pulled off to the side of the road so you two could investigate what was going on. The reader was shooting off the charts. "This has got to be connected to the missing couples." you stated as you and Dean got out of the car.

You followed Dean into the orchard as the EMF reader kept making noise. The orchard was like a maze of trees and someone could get in trouble if they got lost in there. Then you saw the creepiest scarecrow pinned up in a clearing. "Hey Dean!" you called over to Dean. "Ever hunt any scarecrows?" you asked he joined you front of it. It felt like it followed you with it's sockets.

"Dude, you fugly." Dean commented as he shook his head staring up at it. Dean stared at the arm for a second before grabbing the nearby ladder and setting it down in front of the scarecrow.

"Did you see something?" you asked as he climbed the ladder.

"Yep." Dean stated as he moved the sleeve to show you the same tattoo that the missing husband had on his arm.

"Either this farmer's got some weird tastes-" you started to say.

"Or the're using couples limbs to fix their scarecrow." Dean deduced as he jumped off the ladder.

You and Dean returned to the town to investigate the scarecrow and the arm you found attached to him. Dean pulled up to the general store and saw the girl from earlier standing outside, it looked like she was attending the gas station that was attached to the store. "You're back." She smiled as she moved some hair away from her face.

"Never left." Dean stated as you got out of the Impala.

"Are you still looking for your friends?" She asked.

"Yeah we still haven't found them yet, but we aren't giving up that easily." you answered as you walked to the back of the car.

"Mind filling up for us, uh, Emily?" Dean asked as you and him leaned on the trunk of the Impala.

"Someone forgot to get gas before coming into town." you teased as you pointed at Dean.

"You guys seem really close, how long have you been together?" she asked as she worked on filling up the tank.

"Just over six months now." Dean replied as he wrapped his arm around you. "So, did you grow up here?"

"Uh, came here when I was thirteen." she replied. "I lost my parents, in a car accident. My aunt and uncle took me in."

"Oh sorry to hear that, I lost my parents a little over a year ago now." you empathized. "You don't ever get over something like that."

"Well, they're nice people." Dean commented.

"Everybody's nice here." Emily smiled.

"So, what, it's the, uh, perfect little town?" Dean wondered.

"Well, you know, it's the boonies, but I love it." Emily explained. "I mean, the towns around us, people are losing their homes, their farms. But here, it's almost like we're blessed."

"Have you ever been out to the orchard?" you asked as you licked your lips. "Seen that-That scarecrow?"

"Yeah, it creeps me out." Emily chuckled and sighed.

"Whose is it?" Dean asked as he chuckled.

"I don't know." Emily responded shaking her head. "It's just always been there."

"That your aunt and uncle's?" Dean asked referring to the SUV parked under the store's overhang.

"Customer. Had some car troubles." Emily explained.

"Are they are a couple?" you wondered looking towards the building. Emily just nodded in response to your question.

After Emily finished filling up the Impala's tank you and Dean went to Scotty's cafe to try and find the other couple. "Hiya, Scotty." Dean greeted as you two walked into the cafe seeing Scotty serve a man and a woman. "Can I get a coffee, black."

"I'll take a coffee with cream and sugar," you ordered as you and Dean sat down at the table next to the one the other couple was sitting at.

"Oh, and some of that pie too, while you're at it!" Dean called out to Scotty behind the counter. "You want some pie, F/N?"

"Oh no thanks, I don't like pie." you explained.

"Oh come on, can you believe she doesn't like pie." Dean said to the couple as he pointed toward you. "How you doing? Just passing through?"

"Road trip." The woman answered as she swallowed the food in her mouth.

"Oh so are we," you smiled at them as Scotty came over and refilled their drinks.

"I'm sure these people wanna eat in peace." Scotty growled as he glanced at you and Dean.

"Just a little friendly conversation." Dean replied looking over at Scotty. Oh, and those coffees too, by the way. Thanks."

"So why did you two stop here?" you wondered.

"We just stopped for gas, and, uh, the guy at the gas station saved our lives." The woman explained.

"Is that right?" Dean commented.

"Yeah, one of our break lines was leaking. We had no idea. He's fixing it for us." The man explained.

"That's nice of him, how long will it take to fix it?" you asked.

"Sundown." The man said.

"Really? To fix a brake line?" Dean questioned as the man nodded. "You know, I know a thing or two about cars. I could have you running in a hour. Wouldn't charge you anything."

"You know, thanks a lot, but I think we'd rather have a mechanic do it." The woman stated as she raised an eyebrow.

"Right, but it might be a good idea to get back on the road before sundown." you explained.

"Why?" the woman asked you.

"Some travelers have gone missing around here recently, we wouldn't want anything to happen to you." you stated.

"We 'appreciate' your concern, but we're trying to eat, okay?" The man growled at you.

"Well, you know, my brother could give you this puppy-dog look and you'd just buy right into it." Dean muttered as he looked at the floor. You felt bad for Dean and wondered what Sam was up to at that point.

"Hey, thanks for coming, sheriff." Scotty greeted as the sheriff walked into the cafe. Then the sheriff walked over to you and Dean with his hands on his hips.

"Like a word, please." The sheriff demanded.

"Oh, come on. We're having a bad day already." Dean groaned.

"You don't wanna make it worse." The sheriff insinuated as he leaned on the table. Then he escorted you and Dean out of town, following behind Dean until you reached the outskirts of the town.

"I can't believe those two," you growled as Dean drove out of town. "We gotta save that couple."

"We will, we'll come back after dark and go to the orchard to save them." Dean planned as you two waited to night to set.

Once it turned dark you and Dean returned to the orchard to find the couple, you saw their car on the road outside of the orchard. Dean parked the car and you each grabbed a shotgun, then ran into the trees to find the two of them. You ran into them as you ran past some trees and saw the scarecrow behind them. 'Dean!" you yelled to inform him that you found them. "Get back to the car. Go! Go!" you asked as you fired your gun at the scarecrow it made him flinch, but not disappear. Then you ran after them still shooting at the scarecrow and met up Dean on the way back to the car. Once you reached the car you and Dean aimed your guns at the orchard behind you waiting for the scarecrow to appear, but it never showed.

"What-What the hell was that?"The man asked.

"Don't ask." Dean stated as he looked around.

The next day Dean was driving you two to the closest college to find out more about the scarecrow, you were looking through the journal while Dean talked to Sam on the phone. "I'm telling you. Burkitsville, Indiana. Fun town. No, Y/N and I can cope without you know. No, it's more than a spirit. It's a god. A pagan god, anyway. The annual cycle of its killings. And the fact that the victims are always a man and a woman like some kind of fertility rite. And you should see the locals, the way they treated this couple. Fattening them up like a Christmas turkey. Yeah, I'm thinking a ritual sacrifice to appease some pagan god. And the scarecrow takes its sacrifice. And for another year, the crops won't wilt and disease won't spread. Nope, not yet. I know. We're actually on our way to a local community college. We got an appointment with a professor. you know, since we don't have our trusty geek boy to do all the research." Dean explained into the phone as he was driving. "I'm not hinting anything. Actually...Uh...Ahem, I want you to know...I mean, don't think..." Dean chuckled as he was trying to get the words out. "I'm sorry about happened earlier. Sam...you were right. You gotta do your own thing. You gotta live your own life. You've always known what you want, and you go after it. You stand up to Dad, and you always have. Hell, I wish I-Anyway...I admire that about you. I'm proud of you, Sammy. Say you'll take care of yourself. Call us when you find dad." Dean hung up the phone and looked a little emotional.

"I'm so proud of you Dean, you did the right thing there." you smiled at Dean.

"Please, no more chick flick moments," Dean said as he went back to driving.

"Right," you accepted as you looked back at the road a little bit happier.

"It's not every day I get a research question on pagan idolatry." The professor stated as you and Dean followed him down the staircase.

"Yeah, well, call it a hobby of ours." Dean explained.

"But you said you were interested in local lore?" The professor asked.

"Yeah." you confirmed as you three continued walking.

"I'm afraid Indiana isn't really known for its pagan worship." The professor pointed out.

"What if it was imported?" Dean wondered. "You know, like the Pilgrims brought their religion over. Wasn't a lot of this area settled by immigrants?"

"Like that town near here, Burkitsville, where are their ancestors from?" you asked.

"Northern Europe, I believe. Scandinavia." The professor replied.

"What could you tell us about those pagan gods?" Dean questioned.

"Well, there are hundreds of Norse gods and goddesses." The professor said.

"We're actually looking for one. Might live in an orchard." Dean clarified. The professor led you two to his office where he brought out an old, thick book.

"A woods god." The professor stated as he put his reading glasses on. "Well, let's see."

"Wait, wait, wait. What's that one?" Dean asked as the professor stopped on a page with a picture on a scarecrow on it.

"Oh, that's no a woods god, per se." The professor explained as he took off his glasses.

"The V-Vanir?" you read.

""The Vanir were Norse gods of protection and prosperity, keeping the local settlements safe from harm. The villages built effigies of the Vanir in their fields. Other villages practiced human sacrifice, one male and one female." Kind of looks like a scarecrow, huh?" Dean pointed out as he read the book.

"Well, I suppose." The professor mumbled.

"This particular Vanir, its energy sprung from a sacred tree?" Dean questioned.

"Well, pagans believed all sorts of things were infused with magic." The professor explained.

"So, what would happen if the sacred tree was burned down?" you asked. "Would that "kill" the god, so to speak?"

"Girl...these are just legends we're discussing here." The professor insisted.

"Oh, of course." Dean pointed out. "Yeah, you're right. Listen, thank you very much."

"Glad I could help," The professor said as he shook your hands. When Dean tried to open the door to leave the sheriff was on the other side and hit Dean in the face with the butt of his rifle knocking him out. Then you felt something hit you in the back of the causing you to fall unconscious as well...

When you woke up you and Dean were tied to a pair of apple trees. You tried to loosen your hands which bound above your head with twine. "Are you okay Y/N?" Dean asked as he struggled the twine.

"I'll be fine, as soon as we break free and kill that scarecrow." you said as you struggled too. "Have you figured out a plan yet?"

"I'm still working on it." Dean stated as he looked around. A couple of hours later night had fallen, but you were still stuck.

"So, what's the plan?" you growled, irritated at the situation you and Dean were stuck in.

"I'm working on it." Dean repeated as he continued to look around. "Can you see, Y/N? Is he moving yet?"

"I can't see from here." you explained as you saw something moving behind you and Dean from the corner of your eye. "Um, Dean!"

"Dean? Y/N?" Sam questioned as he came around the corner and you and Dean gasped.

"Oh, I take everything back that I said." Dean said relieved to see Sam.

"Sam! I'm so happy to see you, great timing!" you cried happily as Sam helped you out of your bindings. Once you were free he helped Dean get loose.

"How'd you get here?" Dean asked Sam.

"I, uh...I stole a car." Sam explained.

"That's my boy." Dean laughed. "Keep an eye on that scarecrow, Y/N."

"I'm-," you started to say as you rubbed your wrists. "Guys we're got a problem it's gone!" you shouted as Dean shot up off the ground. The pole that the scarecrow hung on was empty and you looked all around to see if you could see it anywhere.

You and the boys were running through the orchard to escape before he found you guys. "All right, now, this sacred tree you're talking about." Sam started to say.

"It's the source of it's power." you explained as you took some deep breaths.

"So let's burn it." Sam suggested.

"No, in the morning. Let's just shag as* before Leatherface catches up." Dean stated as you were running. Suddenly lights shined around you and you were surrounded by the townsfolk. Then you heard eerie groaning coming from the trees around you.

"I'm sorry, but you have to let it take yo-," The store owner started to say until he was stabbed through the chest by a hook and the scarecrow appeared behind him. His wife screamed as the scarecrow grabbed them and started to drag them off. The rest of the townsfolk scattered, while you and the boys ran out of the orchard.

The next day you returned to find and burn the sacred tree. As you looked around you noticed a really old tree with weird writing engraved in it.

"Hey guys I found it!" you shouted and the boys came over and gassed and torched it. Once it caught fire you three left the orchard.

"The townspeople, they're just gonna get away with it?" Sam asked as you three walked back to the Impala.

"What will happen to the town will have to be punishment enough." Dean stated. "So...can we drop you off somewhere?"

"No, I think you're stuck with me." Sam replied.

"What made you change your mind?" Dean wondered.

"I didn't. I still wanna find dad. And you're still a pain in the as, Dean. But Jess and mom, they're both gone. Dad is God knows where. You, me, and Y/N, we're all that's left. So, uh, if we're gonna see this through...we're gonna do it together." Sam explained.

"Hold me, Sam. That was beautiful. Come on." Dean joked as he tried to grab Sam, but Sam smacked his hand away.

"You two should be kissing my as*. You were dead meat." Sam stated as he pointed at you and Dean.

"Yeah right, I'd have gotten us out," Dean claimed.

"Oh come on, it's not like you had any great ideas, until Sam came along." you pointed out as the three of you got into the car and Dean drove away.
