A/N: Yeah this is the first time I'm writing Gwen dating a guy because I wanted to make her Bi in my Venom fanfic lore. This is set in the Venom movie-verse but also a reference to this indie animator's video Punk Rat Poison.
Gwen Stacy had a rough day, not only was she told to stay in Summer School and miss out on a vacation to New Mexico, but now she had to deal with crime solo for the entire week. Something she never thought would happen after the rise of more superhero individuals—people like those kids in Los Angeles, the duo that combined light and darkness. Not to mention a whole agency founded by some supers (including Venom) which was a way of recruiting Inhumans worldwide.
Truth be told, she escaped Summer School and stayed home alone. It was nice, she didn't find it lonely. However, she had to devise untruths to keep her parents from calling Annie and Dan.
The main good thing was doing whatever she wanted at home. It was pure bliss. She could sleep anywhere, listen to music anywhere (in the house), and play loud music.
Having a dream of being an international rockstar was interrupted by a loud crashing noise from downstairs. Shooting up and looking at her bedroom door, she needed to know if that sound was part of her dream. The sound of something like dishes hitting the ground intensified. This was not good.
She walked cautiously out of her bedroom and downstairs with her phone. After slow movement and reaching the source of the, which was in the kitchen, she realized it wasn't raccoons or rats. The strange thing is that the figure she caught on her phone's flashlight was a man, eating cheese a whole block of cheese. He hissed from the brightness of the light, looking at Gwen his charge. Immediately running to the kitchen to find a knife, but the man pinned her to the wall by the stove. Grunting with the fact that she couldn't suit up at the risk of revealing her secret to a stranger, but was able to grab something's handle. She swung it at the man hard, fortunately he was knocked unconscious. With a heavy breath and switching on the lights she took a closer look at the man. Young, tanned light brown but seemingly off. His clothes made him look like some kind of street thug. She looked at the frying pan that was in her hand. "Rapunzel eat your heart out".
She hoisted up his body and set him on the kitchen chair. This was bad, while calling the police might be logical, she could risk having them snoop around the house and discover Venom's extraterrestrial lab below the house. She also couldn't be in her superhero getup, this man has already seen her face, he could figure it out and expose her to other criminals. The third problem was that the morning was approaching. Neighbors had just begun the normal jogging, she couldn't go out of the house swinging at the moment. So she was trapped with this guy. Great.
Pacing up and down, she tried finding ways to get intel. He may have been just a low-life who liked breaking into peoples' homes. Or he may be working for a gangster group. No, the latter was unlikely. It was still possible.
She made sure the kitchen was still dark, the morning light slowly creeping in. The man was moaning as if he had a restful sleep.
As he woke up, he looked around the kitchen and then felt his hands tied together.
"Good, you're finally awake", a feminine voice spoke. The man stared ahead from across the table. He had realized his face was exposed.
"Ne cehennem-neredeyim", He muttered in Turkish. Looking ahead, he could guess he was looking at a woman's body, then as the morning light crept in more, he saw his captor's face.
A woman who seemed freshly legal, with long blonde hair with clean cut bangs, blue eyes, and in a pink leather jacket, white crop top, and tight latex pants, outfit. She smacked her hand onto the table. "So! You aren't very bright, are you? Breaking into my house huh!"
The man eyed the blonde girl up and down, then smirked. "Hi", he greeted in a seductive pickup tone. He gave a charming grin…that the blonde wasn't falling for. She just glared with more ice in her eyes. "A pretty lady like you lives here? How did you afford such a place?"
The woman grabbed him by the turtleneck and pulled him towards her face-to-face. "I'll ask the questions bucko", she scorned with acid in her voice.
"Oh…this is a turn-on for me", he grinned. The woman pushed him back to the chair. She took a seat across from him.
"Let's get down to business. Why are you here?"
The man wondered why she was asking when she already caught him in her house. "I was hungry. Your fridge has more treats and desserts than any other house. Strange how a doll like you has that much food yet still has a sexy body".
"I may be blonde but I'm not a bimbo, so you only came here to steal food?"
"…Yes, I was planning on bringing some cheese to my friends".
The blonde's eyes widened. "Friends? Are you from a group of gangsters?" The man just laughed at that question.
"No, my friends are lovely rats I met in the cozy sewers".
The blonde scrunched her nose in disgust, "Ew". She was adorable, he liked that. She resumed the questioning. "You are a solo low-life criminal I presume?"
"Sure Taklit etmek".
"What language are you speaking?" She asked, intrigued. The man grinned.
"Turkish".
"You're from Turkey? Cool", she covered her mouth at that slip-up comment. As if she couldn't believe she had just complimented some criminal.
"I'll tell you even more 'cool' things about me if you tell me your name", He smiled flirtatiously. The blonde just eyed him.
"G—Gosaline"
"Gosaline? That's quite a name. Matches your inner fire".
"What's your name?" She demanded. The man cricked his neck a bit before speaking.
"Balian"
Gosaline hummed with interest. "That's quite a name", she repeated with a sneer. Balian chuckled at her attempt at humor.
"You are funny. I don't usually see that in pretty women".
"And I don't usually see many handsome European dudes who are burglars".
"Touché" He sighed in a sad tone. "I wish we had met under better circumstances. You might have been nicer as a girlfriend".
Gosaline scoffed, "I'm pretty sure I'd just tell you to piss off". She froze, looked around, and felt something cold and slimy touching her leg. Looking down, she gasped, "What the f* is this?"
"Ah…I forgot to tell you…I am something…special", He smirked. Gosaline tried to break free. "Now you have two options. Either untie me and let me leave with some cheese OR you can me my next meal. The sludge was crawling up her leg. Balian knew he could be the only one walking out of this house alive.
Gwen couldn't believe that this man had some gross power. He seemed smug, thinking she'd be done for. Unfortunately for him, he attempted to kill the wrong woman. Bending down, her fingers shifted into sharp pitch black claws and she snapped every bit of the sludge, freeing her legs.
Balian hissed with frustrated pain. "Ne oluyor be!" Gwen pulled him up by the cloak seams and glared. She was going to make him regret that attack.
"I should kill you right now" she snarled. Balian laughed nervously. "Okay, look, I'm sorry I tried to kill you but you can't kill me!"
"Why not?" She asked. Balian just made an 'uh' sound as he couldn't come up with an excuse. Gwen was about to punch his lights out but Balian confessed something.
"Scientists!"
"…What?"
"I never asked to be…this! I was someone's lab rat, they did something to me".
"And I should care why?" She asked. As a superhero she SHOULD care, but as someone who was trying to pretend to live like a normal girl…well…
"Some men in suits are on to them because they were chasing me. I need to leave. They might arrest you too".
Gwen just stared at Balian, searching for signs that he was lying. She placed him down on the ground and then untied him. He was surprised by this and stared at the girl who just smirked. "Y'know, maybe I could be nicer to you. Who knows, I just like anyone who is bad news", she smirked seductively as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He smiled in a quirky way, leaning in for a kiss but Gwen pressed her finger on his lips. "You get a kiss when we are comfortable around each other. Now go".
As he left, he peeped from the side door frame and waved. "Goodbye darling ~".
As he was finally out of the house, Gwen dropped the smitten façade and relaxed a bit. The dude was dangerous but not very smart. Otherwise he would have noticed her tracker already. Now she had something to work on and Balian was already her first lead.
A/N: I hope this chapter was a modernized version of Rapunzel meeting Eugene from Tangled.
