Viridian Forest

"Hmm?"

A shadowy figure can be seen sitting on a rock, opening his eyes before looking at the sky. The figure remains silent for a moment.

"...my link with the hatchling is disconnected?" The figure mutters. "Then again, that child had always been rebellious since hatched. If it wasn't for his inner strength and his parents, I would've left him in Dragon's Den."

The figure gets up as he continues to look at the sky before he turns his head around to see an incoming serpent-like Pokemon. The Pokemon approaches the figure, who extends his palm as blue light emits from his palm.

"Go...find the hatchling..." The figure states as the serpent-like Pokemon nods and slithers away. As the Pokemon left, he recalls the connection of him with the hatchling, an image of a boy with red hair and a scar across the bridge of his nose was the last thing he saw before the hatchling's connection was cut off.

"...that boy..."

Back with Tai and Yellow

Yellow's Hut

"So...you too?"

Both Tai and Yellow can be seen sitting on the couch, both looking at each other. Gintama and Dratini, who got out of his 'Pokeball' when he immediately got captured, can be seen on each of Tai's shoulders.

"You...can say that," Tai admits, before pulling out a hologram from his palm. "You can say I'm a living machine for any Pokemon necessity." Tai decided to come clean with Yellow since Yellow chose to confirm her supernatural powers.

"...you're terrible at keeping a secret." Yellow jabs at Tai.

"This coming from casually admits you have power blessed by a magical forest?" Tai asks teasingly as Yellow looks flustered before playfully shoving him away.

"I...I was not paying attention to Yuuki-san's question!" Yellow exclaims.

"Then, don't tease me about something you're also terrible at," Tai states as Yellow pouts at him, causing Tai to chuckle.

"So...are you some sort of a cyborg?" Yellow asks.

"Nah, I just have the power, not the mechanical body and stuff. I'm as durable as a normal human." Tai says as he grabs Gintama and Dratini before hugging them, which makes both Pokemons nuzzle him in return.

"...when did you find out you have this power?" Yellow asks.

"Not long after I wake up without remembering my past..." Tai admits while rubbing his head. "I... woke up yesterday and then, this screen pops right in front of my face."

"Just like that?" Yellow blinks Noctowlish.

"Just like that," Tai replies in an amused tone. "What about you?"

"Well, it happened when I was 5, the first time I ever met Chuchu as Pichu. She was injured by a horde of Beedrill, poisoned and all. Back then, I had no idea what to do, and I panicked...I was crying and all as I tried to reach her before my hand suddenly glowed yellow and she recovered. Before I could register what I just did, I fainted and woke up in my room, with Chuchu lying on my chest." Yellow says while rubbing her head.

"That's an interesting story..." Tai says as he goes deep in thought. He didn't know many details about how Yellow gained her power, but he knew Chuchu and Yellow didn't meet that way. But, before they could continue their conversation, they were called by Wilton.

"All right, kids! Who wants dessert!?" Wilton says as he pulls out a cake from the oven. Yellow perks up as Tai can't help but salivate due to the heavenly scent.

"Awesome! You should taste it, Tai! Uncle Wilton's honey cake is very delicious!" Yellow exclaims before pulling him to the dining room as Wilton places a plate of cake on the table. Yellow immediately grabs a plate and the knife to cut a slice before placing it on the plate and giving it to Tai. "Here, try it!" She says before grabbing a fork and giving it to Tai.

"Y-yeah..." Tai looks at the cake before using the fork and takes a bite from the cake. Tai can't help but brighten up before he continues to eat more. "This is good!"

"Haha! Of course!" Wilton says with a laugh. "I am more than just a normal fisherman, you know!"

"I...never say anything about you," Tai says with a sweatdrop, causing Wilton to facefault.

"Damn it!" Wilton curses as Yellow pats his back while laughing nervously.

"I hope you don't mind, sir. But, may I ask for the recipe for the cake?" Tai asks.

"Sure, why not! It's not like it's a secret recipe or something!" Wilton says with a chuckle. Tai can't help but let a small smile on his face before he feels a chill in his spine. He turns towards the front door with a fearful expression before he notices something.

"...is it me, or does the swarm suddenly go silent?" Tai asks as the uncle-niece looks at the door.

"...you're right. There's no more buzzing from the outside." Wilton mutters.

"...Scyther?" Tai calls as Scyther, who's been walking around the hut, pops his head out of the bathroom door. "You, Gintama and Dratini. Can you sense...any danger?"

The trio looks at Tai in confusion before they pause and look at the door, their expression turns cautious. This confirms Tai's suspicions before he summons a blue Pokeball.

"Yuuki...we need your assistance..." Tai whispers to the ball, causing it to wiggle a bit as Tai gets closer to the door. He grabs the handle and gulps nervously before opening it. His eyes widened when he saw what was outside. A Dragonair stood up, tail swinging left and right, its black eyes staring directly at Tai's soul, and a horde of Beedrills lying on the ground unconscious.

Tai pauses when he feels a shake on his shoulder and turns to see Dratini staring at the Dragonair in fear, its tail wrapping around Tai's neck somewhat tightly, refusing to let go. Tai turns at the Dragonair as its eyes narrow, slightly smirking at Dratini quivering in fear.

"...did you come here for Dratini?" Tai asks as Dragonair merely nods as Dratini went stiff. "...before I decided, may I ask, who sent you?"

As he asked that, Dragonair went still, staring at Tai with a calculative look. Tai feels a bead of sweat falling from his air and into his head. He looks at Dragonair before steeling his nerve and opening his mouth.

"...is it L-!?" The moment Tai spoke, Dragonair immediately charged at him at breakneck speed. Tai, in reflexes, covers his head with his arm before opening his Pokeball, causing a flash of light to blind everyone.

Dragonair was about to hit the boy with his tail but was caught by a pair of white ribbons wrapping on its tail tightly. Before Dragonair can register it, he is pulling away from the boy and slams into the ground, causing a huge crater on the floor. Dratini still quivers on Tai's shoulder before Tai grabs him and comforts him.

"I think you two should stay in the System," Tai suggests as Dratini nods before Tai summons a pair of Pokeball and recalls Dratini and Gintama. "Dragonair's mission is to get Dratini back with it, but the reason is unknown. And judging from how Dratini fears it, I doubt he wants to return." Tai turns around to look at the figure behind him. "We need to keep him awake so you can interrogate it. Could you do it by holding back?"

"That's easy, but what about you?" The figure is revealed to be Yuuki, who lowers his body for Tai as he rides on his back. "That Dragonair is quite fast for his kind, and I didn't mean to brag, but keeping up with him is easy. The same thing couldn't be said with you."

"Then, let's make sure he can't react by outspeed him. That's easy for you, right?" Tai says as Yuuki rolled his eyes good-naturely.

"Of course." Yuuki replies before turning around to see Dragonair getting up and narrow its eyes before widening them when he sees Yuuki and Tai on its back. Without hesitation, Dragonair lets out a Dragon Pulse on them.

"Ice Beam!" Tai exclaims as Yuuki lets out a freezing energy beam to neutralize the attack. "Trailblaze, quick!" In an instant, Yuuki appears right in front of Dragonair, crashing into the dragon. "Follow with another Ice Fang!"

Boom!

Yuuki jumps back from the cloud of fog he created before Dragonair slithers into the sky with the wings on its ear expanding and flapping. Tai notices that the attack was effective based on the injuries and his expression. The Dragonair roars before blasting an energy ball into the sky as it explodes and multiple energy balls fall towards them like a meteor shower.

"Yuuki, get ready for crazy shit! Use Trailblaze to jump into the meteor and climb towards it! Let's finish it immediately with one attack!" Yuuki would give Tai an incredulous expression but he has no time, so he follows his command and to his surprise, it works as he manages to get close to Dragonair. "Now, Blizzard! No mercy!"

At this moment, Dragonair knew that he just fuck up as a point-blank Blizzard hits his body like a violent storm sending him crashing into the ground with a loud boom. Upon crashing, a huge pillar of ice was created, trapping the Dragonair in there.

"Shatter!" Yuuki lands on one of the meteors before using it as a jumping platform as he crashes into the ice and stomps on barely conscious Dragonair.

"To think you're capable of enduring my attack multiple times...whoever sent you truly is a skilled trainer," Yuuki says as he glares holes at Dragonair. "If you simply ask for the Dratini, we could compromise, yet you choose to try and murder my partner. If you want to live, talk. Who sent you and why?"

Tai jumps off from Yuuki and looks at Dragonair, who seemingly glares at Tai and snarls in anger. Tai decided to clear things up and spoke up.

"Is your trainer...called L-!?" Before he could say anything, multiple gusts of wind appeared around them, causing Yuuki to let go of the Dragonair and focus on protecting Tai. Tai covers his head and manages to see a beam of red light recalling Dragonair from the other side of the wind.

Yuuki snarls protectively, sends a powerful wind blade and easily slices through the wall of a tornado. The wind suddenly grows weaker before it disappears completely. Sadly, there are no signs of the Dragonair and even its possible trainer.

"Well...great..." Tai says with a sigh before petting Yuuki, who seems to remain protective around Tai. "Thanks, Yuuki..."

"We didn't catch the culprit..." Yuuki snarls.

"That's my fault. I was too focused on asking my question just to confirm my suspicions." Tai sighs while pinching the bridge of his nose. "I forget that the culprit might be close and try to claim back their Pokemon..."

"But, what makes the Dratini so special that he wants it back? And why didn't he capture it with a Pokeball?" Yuuki asks.

"Dunno...things just got even more complicated," Tai mutters before turning back to the hut, which surprisingly remains intact with no sign of any scratches. Suddenly, the door is open, and Yellow, Scyther, and Wilton pop their heads out with a fearful expression.

"Is it safe to come out now?" They both ask with Scyther growling in a fearful tone, causing Tai and Yuuki to sweatdrop.

Meanwhile

"That was...beyond anyone's prediction..."

The shadowy figure can be seen holding its wrist as the Dragonair whimpers in sadness. The figure turns towards the Dragonair before extending its palm towards the Pokemon as a blue glow appears from it, healing the Pokemon.

"Don't blame yourself for this, no one could predict such outcomes. It's way out of your league..." The figure states. "But still, I would never expect a normal trainer capable of bonding with a Legendary Pokemon. That explains how he could easily capture the hatchling and gain its trust..."

The figure looks at the injured wrist caused by Yuuki's Air Slash before narrowing its eyes.

"...I should keep an eye on him...so he won't interfere with my plan..."
