The lights shone, the music began, and the guys, lined up at the back of the runway, took turns walking up and down. Andy, sitting in the corner, watched Kate clap her hands and smile, Michelle shaking her hands in the air and cheering, and Carson jived his shoulders. On the runway, Miz Cracker fluttered his fingers by his face and turned in a whirl of fabric, and Kalorie went next. Andy glanced at Miranda, whose brow grew another line and she bared her teeth.

"Where is the colour on this?"

Kalorie, her face reddening, glanced down at her outfit. Eureka, in the back with the others, piped in.

"Kalorie, I think you're amazing doll, I went for colourful glitter, but I like your black, it's real nice."

The room was still, and Andy eyed Miranda who narrowed her eyes at Eureka.

"Women wear skirts that show off their legs, not bodysuits that cover everything up."

Dusty jumped to see Eureka holding tightly onto his hand, his eyes wet. Andy glanced to Michelle and Carson, whose shared glance was interrupted when Miranda leaned in between them.

"You!"

Aquaria beamed, and went next. Miranda cocked her head to the side with her fist over her mouth, and Aquaria walked back to join the others. Carson and Michelle watched Miranda, who nodded once, then rose.

"Certainly nothing groundbreaking, but it'll have to do."

Miranda turned her back, Michelle shot her a look of loathing, Carson exhaled, and the guys on stage flapped their underarms, while Andy rushed to assist Miranda.

"Emily," Miranda turned, in the corridor where a passing staffer took one look at them and fled in the other direction. "Call RuPaul and tell him I want to see the other girls."

"Um, I think - "

"I won't have you telling me what you think, Ahn-dre-ah. Now fetch me my Starbucks. That is what you are here for, is it not?"
