Chapter 4:

Gandalf led Frodo, Sam, Byron, and Me to the boarder of The Shire.

We had our packs and were ready to go. Gandalf walked up to me and spoke.

"Take care to protect your secret, there are some who will use it for evil." He said.

I nodded. "Thank you." I said and hugged him. Gandalf chuckled and I turned to Byron and we walked. We walked through fields and suddenly heard a commotion.

Two other hobbits were running though the field with vegetables in their arms.

They literally crashed into Sam and Frodo, which made them fall all the way to a pathway.

Byron and I followed quickly to make sure everyone was ok.

Sam and Frodo got up and so did the other hobbits.

I looked down the road and I felt a chill seep into my bones. "Get off the road now!" I yelled.

The hobbits did so and we hid under a tree root. Suddenly, we heard horses and heard a horrible scream.

It sounded like a monster dying. We hid and held our breath in fear that whatever this was would leave us be.

We heard it retreat and knew we had to get to safety of Rivendell quickly. "What's the fasted way out of The Shire?" I asked.

Pippin nodded. "I would say the ferry. It will take about 10 minutes to get there." He said. I nodded.

"We need to get there as soon as possible." I said. Byron nodded. "Yup, let's go before creepy goth comes back." He said.

We quickly got back on the road and ran to the ferry. It was dark now and hard to see. We ran as fast as we could.

Suddenly, the horses and monsters were on the road chasing us.

We all got on the ferry. I looked back to see Frodo falling behind.

"Hurry Frodo, Run!" I yelled Frodo was almost too us and the ferry was going through the water away from the shore. "Jump!" I yelled.

Frodo jumped and made it right on the ferry just in time. The horses stopped and the creatures screamed. It was horrific.

The horses rode away and we made our way to the next town on the ferry.
