I woke up the next day to see that Aragorn had already gotten up and left the room. There was a knock on the door. "Come in." I said. It was Lady Eowin. "My Lady Lola. I've come to check on you and help you pack for the journey." She said.
I nodded. "I'm ok, just tired." I said. "Journey to where?" I asked. She smiled. "We are traveling to helms deep. For safety from the orcs and to have battle." She said. "I sighed. "I know Aragorn will not let me fight in my condition." I said. Eowin looked at me. "You love him?" she asked. I knew she was fishing for information. "Yes, I do love him." I said. I then realized what I had just said.
I did love my husband. She sighed. "Alas, I thought maybe he and I could be together, but I see that he dotes on you and truly loves you too." She said. I smiled. "I am a very lucky woman." I said. She smiled. "I can see that." She said. She left the room quickly, due to the fact that I knew she needed a moment alone. I got dressed and headed to the great hall to see Aragorn. He smiled up at me as I entered the room. "Did you sleep good?" he asked. "I didn't want to wake you." He said. I smiled and kissed him. "I slept good thank you." I said.
Aragorn smiled. "I will have you ride your own horse that way you don't have to walk so much. Apparently, Lady Eowin told me that if you walk too much you could go into labor." He said. I nodded. "Yes, a horse is the best opion." I said.
We started the journey and it was a good day before we could camp. The people rested and then the next day we continued. All of a sudden, I hard a loud growl. I knew that growl. It was of the beast that the orcs used. I heard Aragorn's voice. "SCOUTS! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" Most of the men rode forward and Eowin was in task of getting the people to Helms Deep. We arrived soon and I waited at the gate for to hear about Aragorn. The gates opened and everyone but Aragorn walked in. Legolas came to me and pulled me into a hug. "I'm sorry. He fell." He said.
I gasped. "NO!" I yelled. My love was dead. I was going to have his children. I would have to raise them myself. I would have to tell them of what a great warrior their father was. I knew now, that I was indeed in danger of the curse affecting me and my children. I ran from the gate and went to my room.
I cried for hours. A day passed and I was utterly exhausted from crying. My belly had grown some more and I knew that I would give birth soon. I went to the great hall to see Gandalf and the King. Eowin and Eomer were there. Gimley and Legolas were there too. We were talking and suddenly, the double doors were thrown open and none other than Aragorn was standing there. Bloody and beaten. He looked wet and cold. I rushed to him and started to cry.
"Aragorn, You're alive. Oh you scared me." I said. "We need to get you checked out." I said. Aragorn smiled and pulled me to him and kissed me. "The only thing I thought about was you and it brought me to the light." He said.
I smiled. We got him to sit down and a healer came and looked at him. He had a gash on his arm and the healer stitched it up. I brought Aragorn to our room and had a bath drawn up for him. He soaked in it and I knew that he was in pain. He cleaned himself up and put on the clothes that were left for him.
Then he turned to me and studied me. His face paled a little, but his eyes were always on me. "You are to give birth soon." He said as he came and pulled me into his arms. We laid down and he spoke some more.
" I want you to stay behind in battle. You are too pregnant and if something were to happen to you. Our children could die and so could you." He said. I nodded. "Even if I wanted to I can barley walk." I said. Aragorn chuckled. "I will see you again. I promise." He said.
I nodded and he kissed me, which led to other things as well. Tomorrow was the battle and I wanted to make every memory I could with my husband. If I had learned anything it was to never take anything for granted.
