Sherman Archer is beyond frustrated about trying to get a job in this economy.

For all businesses claim they try to hire people, they don't actually want to hire people. They want to look like they are hiring people and then claim that no one wants to work.

His father has been saying that the economy is going down ever since he was a child, and it's not like time has made it better.

If anything, it seems to be worse.

Still, he is dutifully trying.

And for the record, he is aware that his current interview is at a place that is a front for a mafia business.

He lives in a Mafia town, he knows the signs. And it's hard to find places of business without Mafia connections, so honestly why even bother?

It's probably steadier work than trying to go legit.

Who cares?

He knows his assumption was spot on when he is given a houndour and told to guard a wearhouse, and given half upfront for his first job.

He can use this to get on his feet.

Maybe enough to go somewhere with better job prospects.

Or maybe not. It's not like the other regions are doing any better.

Might as well see what he can learn while he is here.

Maybe if he rises high enough, he can get his friends Jobs. Petral is too nice, and would get taken advantage of and Proton was too quick to anger to be easily hired.

They protect each other, but maybe it will be put to a nobler purpose here.
