Brackets means Someone is thinking
A man had noticed that a door was open and he looked inside, noting how expensive and pricy everything looked, they had opened the door and started ransacking the place, but suddenly they heard a loud gruff voice "Hey, You ransacker!". Surprised by the voice the criminal looked up, grabbed a trophy, and *Bash* *Crash* and *Thud*.
The man had slumped over and had an injury on his head which caused his head to bleed as a shelf had been destroyed.
???: " I can't go to jail. I know who I can blame, I'll just blame his wife."
Courtroom Lobby #4*
Akira:" What a case, eh? Narukami?"
Narukami:" Yeah, a marital murder. What was the Technical Term again?"
Akira's Thought's:" This is Yu Narukami, he's a detective and acts as my partner from time to time. He's very competent, he was trained by his uncle and Naoto Shirogane."
Akira:" That's called… um… I don't know."
???:" The term for a wife killing their husband is Matricide. You should remember that Yu, you are trying to become a detective aren't you?"
A man with Black hair, grey eyes, stubble, and a pair of Broad Shoulders appears.
Narukami:" Thanks Dojima-san, did you get the evidence that I asked for?"
Dojima:" Yeah, Jeez I thought I was going to have a vacation for once."
All Evidence was given to Akira.
Narukami:" Hehe, sorry Dojima-San."
Dojima:" It's fine, besides I'm just going to drop this off, and Mr. Kurusu, I know you'll do well as the defense, you did an amazing job defending Ms. Kujikawa."
Akira:" Oh, thank you, Detective Dojima."
Dojima:" No problem. I should go before Nanako gets angry with me."
With that Dojima had left the lobby.
???:" *Sniffle Sniffle Sniffle* How could this happen to me?"
Akira:" Mrs. Clint, I know that you're innocent."
Clint:" Of course, you do! I can't believe this. I didn't kill him I'd never kill my Darling husband."
Akira:" She seems to be genuinely destroyed by her husband's murder, which makes sense."
Baliff:" Mr. Kurusu the trial will begin right now, enter or else your client will be automatically declared guilty."
Akira:" Let's go Narukami."
Narukami:" Right."
The two of them go inside the courtroom and they go behind the bench.
Judge:" Please Rise for the trial of Mrs. Clint. Are you ready defense, prosecution?"
Akira:" Yes Your Honor."
Payne:" The prosecution is also ready your honor."
Judge:" Very well, Mr. Payne, your opening statement if you will?"
Payne:" Of course, your honor. The suspect is accused of murdering her husband after a robbery gone wrong, the murder weapon was the first trophy the victim got back when he was a football player."
Payne had Submitted 3 pieces of Evidence, 2 were pictures one of which was her unconscious with jewelry on her arm and rings in her hand, the second was of his corpse after getting struck by the trophy, and the 3rd was the trophy.*
Judge:" That trophy looks big enough that even a child could bludgeon someone with it."
Akira:" True, even Nanako could use it as a weapon."
Narukami:" That's not exactly helping our case Akira."
Akira:" I should raise an objection to Mr. Payne, but what would I object to? ……Oh, I know. Your Honor, don't you find it odd? Why would my client rob her own house?"
Judge:" Hmmm, that doesn't make sense, they're a rather… opulent couple."
Payne:" Hehehehehe. Well, if you must know it's because of a side business."
Akira:" S-Side Business?"
Payne:" Yeah, you see she has a side buisness, they had recently dropped a new product, and it was very risky, unfortunately for the accused it flopped, and because of that she wasn't able to pay her employees."
Akira:" D-Don't tell me."
Payne:" That's right. She had thought to steal Jelewry and other objects, then after selling them she was going to pay her employees what she couldn't, however, her was cut short when the husband had gone to surprise her."
Akira:" What was the surprise the husband had planned for my client?"
Payne:" Their Anniversary."
Akira started sweating " Their Anniversary? This is not good, not good at all." Akira had thought to himself.
Payne:" The husband decided to surprise her, by getting a bouquet of flowers, a reservation at an expensive restaurant, a watch made from, pure gold, and a trip to Finland."
Judge:" Finland? I've gone there a few times over my career, for both work and fun. My wife would recommend it."
Payne:" What a coincidence, so did me and my wife, it's a truly breathtaking place. Getting back on topic I'd like to bring the witness to the stand."
Judge:" Very well."
Akira:" This isn't good… A witness what could he have seen?"
A tall, muscular man, with thick leather gloves comes up to the witness stand.
Payne:" Witness. Your name and Occupation if you would."
Witness:" My name is Dieb Rick and I'm a manager at the newest fast food place."
Judge:" So, I have seen you somewhere. I knew that you looked Familiar."
Deib:" Well, your honor it's an absolute pleasure and an honor to be in this Courtroom."
Judge:" Your Testimony if you would."
—————————————————————
My encounter.
I was walking and I spotted a creaked open door.
I was concerned about anyone in there so I opened it and then I saw it.
The wife, the woman accused was holding a trophy covered in blood.
However, she passed out and I alerted the police.
—————————————————————
Judge:" Well I say. That's decisive testimony right there."
Akira:" This is not good. I better find some contradictions in there or else me and the case are dead."
Judge:" Very well. Mr. Kursu you may start your Cross Examination."
I was walking and I spotted a creaked open door.
Akira:" Hold it! How open was the door exactly?"
Deib:" I'd say enough to be noticed."
Akira:" And? Why did you notice it?"
Deib:" Oh that, well… Y'see
I was concerned about anyone in there so I opened it and then I saw it.
Akira:" Hold it! Why were you concerned?"
Deib:" Because they're a wealthy couple, I can only imagine the number of people that tried to rob them."
Akira:" That would make sense."
Deib:" Well anyways, I didn't enter the house but I had seen it from outside."
Akira:" What did you see?"
Deib:" I saw."
The wife, the woman accused was holding a trophy covered in blood.
Akira:" Hold it! How would you describe the scene of the crime?"
Deib:" It was the husband. He was on the floor with his wife standing over him holding a bloody trophy, but it was overall clean minus the blood of course."
Akira:" Was that it? Witness."
Deib:" Yeah, that's all."
Akira:" Your honor. I request that the witness would add that statement to his testimony."
Judge:" Very Well. Witness, if you would?"
Deib:" You got it."
The Accused was Standing over the victim, but the Crime scene was clean… outside of the blood on the floor.
Akira:" Hold it! You're saying that it was clean? So no broken shelves, holes in the wall, Torn-up Carpets, or stuff like that?"
Deib:" Very Correct defense."
Akira:" I see, so what happened after that?"
Deib:" Well, after that she…"
However, she passed out and I alerted the police.
Akira:" Did you call the Police from your cell phone?"
Deib:" No. I left my phone back at my restaurant, so I went to the neighbor's house and used their phone."
Payne:" It's true. We have a report from the neighbor in question."
Judge:" I see. Very well, it'll be added to the court record."
Narukami:" There is a part of the testimony that feels weird."
Akira:" Yeah, I noticed it too. I wonder if it has a deeper meaning?"
The Accused was Standing over the victim, but the Crime scene was clean… outside of the blood on the floor.
Akira:" Objection! Witness you stated that and I quote "It was clean outside of the blood."
Deib:" That's right, why are you bringing this up?"
Akira:" Because I want you to take a gander at this Photo."
The photo of the corpse was shown on the TV.
Payne:" What about it?"
Akira:" [I think he should retire if he can't see it.] Looks like I'll have to "Point" to the answer. Take that! I'm referring to the wall behind the victim, of course."
Payne:" The wall? Peh! Our dear defense attorney is obviously grasping at straws."
Akira:" I'm not grasping at straws. [I think at least]. It doesn't make sense for him to not know that after all. If the accused really used the trophy to bludgeon the victim to death then surely, the witness would have had to have heard the sound of the shelf breaking."
Judge:"… Oh, I think I get it.… actually I don't get it."
Akira:" Look at the Victim." The TV shows the picture again "The Victim is a man of massive stature and has a great build, so if he had fallen over while our witness over here had been at the door like he testified then he should've heard it break."
Judge:" Oh my, why you're absolutely right!"
Payne:" Objection! That's useless information. Who would've noticed a shelf breaking with a murder getting committed right in front of them!?"
Akira:" Objection! Mr. Payne the witness claimed that he could remember the crime scene in detail, so he should remember the shelf being broken. He even said that and I quote "The accused was Standing over the victim, but the Crime scene was clean… outside of the blood on the floor" To which the Witness said that nothing was broken when I asked about it."
Judge:" Mr. Kurusu? How Important to the case is this broken shelf?"
Narukami:"… I've got to agree with the judge. It doesn't seem all that important."
Akira:" I disagree I think it's Very important. Your Honor I want to throw out an idea that will show why the Witness didn't hear the shelf breaking and show why it's important."
Judge:" Very Well, why didn't the witness hear the shelf breaking?"
Akira:" Obviously, it's because he didn't witness the crime."
Judge:" What?! You mean the witness isn't actually a witness?!"
Narukami:" That's crazy, but I've seen weirder."
Payne:" Objection! What about the report from the neighbors? If he didn't witness it then why did he go to the neighbor and report it? And how did he know the crime scene?!"
Akira:" Hmmm, that's a good question. Why did he know the crime scene and report the crime if he wasn't a witness? ……! No way."
Narukami:" Akira? What did you come up with?"
Akira:" Mr. Payne, I have your answer for you."
Payne:" Y-You do?!"
Akira:" Our "Witness" Deib Rick is the killer!"
The jury started going crazy!
Judge:" Order, Order, Order. Mr Kurusu are you serious? You're accusing this witness of murder."
Akira:" I know that Your Honor, but It's the only thing that makes sense. How did he know the crime scene and how did he report the crime if he didn't see the crime? It's because he committed this crime."
Payne:" Objection! That doesn't make any sense. I demand the witness testify for that reasoning."
Deib:" Alright."
—————————————————————
My response.
I'm not the killer.
As for the shelf, it really isn't that important.
But since you'll insist it is I think I might know why I didn't hear it snap.
I didn't hear it snap because of the TV it was really loud they were playing a video and as for your accusation.
Let's say that I was the murderer, then why would I report my own murder?
—————————————————————
Judge:" Hmmm, I see, defense you may cross-examine the witness."
I'm not the killer.
Akira:" Hold it! Do you have proof?"
Deib:" You don't have any proof I did."
Akira starts sweating "Oh yeah anyway let's move on."
As for the shelf, it really isn't that important.
Akira:" Hold it! It is important. Anyone who would've witnessed the crime would have heard the shelf breaking."
Deib:" I think I might know why I didn't hear it snap."
Akira:" Hold it! Why is that?"
Deib:" Well…"
I didn't hear it snap because of the TV it was really loud they were playing a video.
Akira:" Hold it! You're saying that a video was playing?"
Deib:" Yeah, I remember it clearly."
Akira:" Do you know what the video was?"
Deib:" It was a 3d model reviewing people's bedrooms. The model's name was Aquwa_vt… I think. Yeah, that's it."
Akira:" Oh? I had no idea our client was into Vtubers."
Judge:" Mr. Kurusu, what is a Vtuber?"
Akira:" They're people that use a virtual avatar that uses anime avatars as a sort of face for their videos."
Judge:" I see, what an interesting idea, I would have never thought about that, but I'll admit it does sound interesting. It might be nice to watch one of them with my wife tonight."
Narukami:" Not to interrupt this amazing discussion, but Akira didn't something feel odd about that statement?"
Akira:" Yeah, I wonder why?"
Narukami:" There's only one thing to do."
Akira:" Mr. Deib can you add that statement to your testimony?"
Deib:" Fine."
She put on a video probably one of those "Vtubers" you seem to know about.
Akira:" So you're absolutely sure that it was a Vtuber?"
Deib:" Probably, I don't know much about modern trends."
Akira:" Alright." [Now my theory has legs to stand on."]
Deib:" There's something else I want to say…"
And as for your accusation let's say that I was the murderer, then why would I report my own murder?
Akira:" Hold it! Maybe you thought you could get away with it if you made yourself a witness.
Deib:" That's ridiculous. It would be easier to simply slink away than do this."
Akira:" That would make sense. But maybe he thought it would be easier to give testimony."
Narukami:" It's certainly a good point, but there is something wrong with one of his statements."
Akira:" Yeah, there is. I just know it. And I think I know which one that is."
Narukami:" We should look at the court record. You took a quick look before."
Akira:" Right."

Court record
- [Floor Plans.] A room with a couch in the middle of the room and in front of the couch was a trophy shelf, a desk to the right of the shelf, and A TV on the left. The view to the TV was cut off by a kitchen counter the TV was also facing away from the door.
- [Crime Scene photo #1 ] A picture of the defendant unconscious on the floor with Jelewry and other Valuables on her. Oddly enough there looks to be a part missing.
- [Crime Scene photo #2 ] The victim's corpse and behind it was a broken shelf behind his corpse.
- [Murder Weapon.] A trophy the Victim had first gotten when he used to be a football star. The victim was bludgeoned to death with it.
- [Autopsy Report] The Victim was bludgeoned to death with a trophy. His death was instantaneous. The victim was only hit once in the front.
—————————————————————
She put on a video one of those "Vtubers" you seem to know about.
Akira:" Hold it! Mr. Deib you just dug you're own grave."
Deib:" What do you mean?"
Akira:" What I mean is this. You couldn't have known what was playing on the TV."
Judge:" What, why not?"
Payne:" Yes, good question your honor, why couldn't the witness know what was playing?"
Akira:" Simple. The TV's position."
Judge:" … Oh, I get it. The TV was facing away from the door."
Akira:" Right, and remember the defendant himself said he didn't enter the house, so how did the witness know what was on the TV?"
Judge:" I assume you have the answer. You may state it then."
Akira:" Easy, the reason why is because he killed the victim. There is no other way."
Payne:" Objection! T-That's R-Ridiculous. What would his motive be in the first place?"
Akira:" You said it yourself, prosecutor. The motive was an attempted robbery."
Payne:" B-But if it's a robbery then why didn't he take the Jewlewry with him?"
Akira:" That's easy. He did it so he could frame my client for the murder of her husband."
Deib looks like he's on the verge of a breakdown.
Deib:" So what? That doesn't prove anything. I used the trophy? I tried to steal the jewelry? Where's the proof? Evidence is everything after all! Can you prove it? CAN YOU PROVE IT!? I THINK NOT!
Akira starts sweating and collapses against the bench. " He's right, I don't have any definitive evidence."
Narukami:" What if the evidence does exist, but you don't have it?"
Judge:" Mr. Narukami, what do you mean by that?"
Akira was still sweating [That's what I want to know. Just what does he mean by that?]
Narukami:" I can't explain, but isn't there a piece of evidence that's off?"
Akira:" A piece of evidence that's off?" [Now that I think about it, there is something off about one piece of evidence in particular.] "…… Oh, Oh?! I know what you mean."
Judge:" I'm not sure what you're talking about. Mr. Kurusu, show the evidence to clarify what your partner means."
Akira:" Got it. Take that!"
Judge:" The accused's unconscious body?"
Akira:" Right. I want you to look at the arm where the Jewlewry is."
Payne:" What does that have to do with anything?"
Akira:" Well, the Prosecution stated that the motive was a theft, and this photo at its surface level is proof that that, but do you see that gap between the two pieces of Jewlewry?"
Judge:" Oh, I get it. The gap is from when someone, that is the real murderer took a piece of jewelry from the accused."
Akira:" Right, and the question is, why does it exist? Say, that looks like an expensive watch in fact it looks to be made of gold."
Narukami:" Gold? The Victim got a gold watch, didn't he?"
Akira:" Right. It was supposed to be a gift for his wife. Your Honor, I think we should take the watch and find where it came from, I'm sure it'll be from the same watch from the store the Victim attended."
Deib grabs the witness stand and after a few seconds "………HEHEHEHE HAHAHAHAA HO HO HO HO HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH." A bunch of containers of Salt and Sugar pour over him slowly trapping him in a mountain of them "NO WAIT, PLEASE STOP DON'T COVER ME! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *ACHOO* *Thud*
Judge:" Mr. Payne what happened to your witness?"
Payne:" He confessed to the murder and the Robbery."
Judge:" I see, on the case of Ms. Clint I pronounce her Not Guilty."
Courtroom Lobby*
Clint:" Thank you so much, both of you."
Akira:" It's no problem, Ms. Clint."
Narukami:" Yeah, we're just thankful you could get justice for your husband's killer."
Clint:" Oh, yes. Darling, what will I do without you?"
Clint had written both of us checks that were quite pricey.
Akira:" These costs? Aren't they a bit too high?"
Clint:" Nonsense. This doesn't even cover half of what you two fine young gentlemen did for me I'm forever indebted to you two."
Akira:" Thanks, Ma'am, if you need any help simply reach out, and we'll help you in any way you need."
Back then we had never assumed anything crazy would happen, however, we couldn't be more wrong. In the next few months, a ton of memorable events would occur, and those events would end with something to change my life forever.
