Chapter 34: Happy Endings and Uncertain Futures
Once they were far away from the school and made sure no one could see them, Danny, Star, Sam, Tucker, Val, Jazz and even Ember all felt like a weight had been lifted from their shoulders.
"Finally, it's over..."Danny said, sighing in relief. "I haven't had to scare someone that bad since the incident with Beatrice. Hopefully this will have the same affect on her as it did with the old bat..."He added.
"I got to say, Baby-Pop. I really am liking this ruthless side of you..."Ember said, with a smirk.
"He's taken!..."Star yelled, holding onto Danny and Ember rolled her eyes.
"For now..."Ember said, before grabbing her guitar.
"Well, my work here is done...and remember, you owe me Baby-Pop..."Ember said, arms crossed.
Danny sighed.
"Fine, what is it? And remember, if it's anything illegal or lovey dovey, I'm not doing it..."He said, being serious.
"Relax...I'm not gonna ask for it today. I haven't thought what I want yet but you'll know when I ask..."Ember said.
"Anyway, I gotta go. Got plans with Kitty to go grab a bite since she's still giving Johnny the silent treatment. Ciao babies..."The diva said.
Ember soon vanished in a whirlwind of flames, leaving the heroes alone. Once she was gone, our heroes began to talk more about the other villainess that was arguably less pleasant than the ghostly diva herself.
"Do you think Colette finally got the message?..."Star asked, wanting to be sure.
"If she didn't, she's even more insane than we thought but I'm not worried. You heard your folks...she's lost everything, and everyone thinks she's a maniac and a crook. No one is going to trust her again. She destroyed any credibility she had..."Danny said.
"That's right. That brat played her one-sided game, and she lost. It was going to happen eventually..."Sam said, glad that justice was being served.
"Understatement of the century. I just can't believe after all this time...no more Colette..."Star said, feeling like a great weight has been lifted from her shoulders.
Danny sent her a gentle look.
"If I ever hear someone call me "Mon Amore" again, it'll be too soon ..."The ghost boy said to his true love.
"Don't worry, the only pet name you'll be hearing from now on is Danny-Boo and any other cute pet name I can think of..."Star said, making her man smile.
"Now that, I can totally live with..."Danny said, cheering up at hearing that.
Star sent him a smile and hugged him, feeling catharsis for so many years of anger, pain, sadness, mistreatment, humiliation and suffering. She felt that she was finally avenged for that.
Now everyone saw Colette as the awful girl she was and would no longer be fooled by her lies and tricks. They were finally free. Free from a less powerful but far more dangerous threat.
She really did have similarities to Vlad, though Danny still couldn't help but feel it's an almost unfair comparison at this point given he'd do the right thing if it was in his self-interest. Colette wouldn't help someone if her life depended on it and didn't care what happened to anyone unless it affected her and her scumbag of a dad.
Still...The first time Danny had beaten Vlad, the ghost boy had told him he'd end up miserable and alone and it'd all be his fault
It hasn't happened for the Fruitloop yet, but it had for the little monster who he was glad was finally out of his hair. She was in another version of the big house because all she cared about was taking the good things from other instead of focusing on the good she actually had in her life. Never being happy with what she had and wanting to hurt others for no other reasons than to make herself feel better about herself...or to play the "game" she mentioned so much.
A game she didn't realize she ruined her life over.
She didn't realize or accept that she had a mother who cared about her. She had FIVE mothers who did and for all of his many, many MANY flaws, Jean-Luc did love his daughter, even if he was a lousy father and it was mainly his fault that she turned into such a nightmare in the first place.
On top of that, she wanted even more stuff, even if she already had a lot but didn't even care to notice.
Colette had looks, money, parents who would have done anything for her if she asked...and so many possibilities and opportunities in front of her. She could have have been satisfied with what she had but no she just wanted more and more no one was allowed to be happy but her. Now she had nothing and even her baby brother saw her as a stranger because she never interacted with him, instead seeing him as a diaper stainer only good to one day run her precious daddy's vineyard so she didn't have to. Now, even Pierre knows she is a "bad lady" as he calls her and makes it clear he doesn't like her.
"Pierre really is a smart kid. I'm just glad he didn't take after his sorry excuse of a dad..."Danny thought, hoping the best for his future.
For now, he was just relieved that justice has been served and that Colette lost everything. She had no allies, her family wants nothing to do with her, she had no friends, but she had a list of enemies in the hundreds, spanning across every continent and more countries and cities than Danny could count.
"I still can't believe she hurt that many people...but at least they received justice too..."Danny thought, recalling last week.
After Tucker handed that information to Mr. Strong and the other adults, Stella and Suzette both felt shame and mentioned something about compensation to those people too, while Mr. Strong made sure to add this to the mountain of charges against the brat.
"I still can't believe that someone like her actually exists. It's like something out of a horror movie...and this is coming from a guy who fights ghosts every day..."Danny said.
"She was less monster movie villain and more like a supervillain in a comic book movie, but thankfully she's not getting any sequels..."Star said, just glad that it's all behind them now.
Colette had ruined her life with this rivalry she didn't need to make. She could have been happy, maybe like Vlad had been in that dark future. She could see everything she'd done wrong and be a better person or maybe she wouldn't. Either way, Danny didn't care anymore.
One way or the other, Colette Bevier is history, and he hoped he never saw her again. What will become over her was unknown, but it wasn't something they'd lose sleep over. The ghost boy and his friends didn't want to think about her anymore and move on with his life.
"Looks like we're done..." Tucker said, and his male friend nodded.
"Let's all go home. Frostbite said the natural portal is only going to be around for a little while longer..."Danny said.
"Yeah, let's get out of here. Being around Colette is not my idea of a good time..." Star said.
"It's no one's idea of a good time..." Valerie commented flatly.
"Too bad we couldn't stay a bit. I always did want to see England and It would be cool to see the sights..." Tucker said.
"We can come back some other time...either with Stella's tickets or we can just use the infi-map if we ask Frostbite nicely enough..." Sam suggested.
"Let's just head back home before our parents find out we're no longer in the same continent..."Danny said, "And I don't know about any of you but I rather not have to explain how we're suddenly on the other side of the world..."He said.
Star and the others nodded.
They soon returned to the natural portal that was their ticket home, confident that they finally managed to bring down that spoiled brat who now lost everything she once had.
Serves her right.
"It's finally over..." Danny thought happily.
Unknown to him, things weren't really over yet...at least not his troubles.
Elsewhere
In Colorado
In a certain mountain chalet, a certain billionaire and his wife were outside.
A limo appeared to take him away, but he was still talking with his wife over certain "issues", the same issues they talked about for almost a week.
For surprisingly, both of them were still alive...somehow.
"Got everything, Honey?..."Alicia asked.
"Yes. All of it..."Vlad said, not looking at her but still had to say one last thing. "I think it's best we... take some time apart and...talk this over some other time..." Vlad said, trying to make sure things will still work out in his favor.
His wife nodded.
"Yer probably right. I didn't mean to upset you with how much I used up..." Alicia said.
"Still. You're free to stay here at my chalet... no overspending..." Vlad said.
"I got it. I make my best food from hunts anyway. I think I saw some mongeese 'round these here parts..." Alicia said with a hint of excitement. "I'll leave some stew for ya..."She offered.
"Wonderful but don't trouble yourself..." Vlad said with a fake smile. "I'll see you...when I'm not busy with work..."He said, just wanting to leave this place already.
He already spent a week here and didn't have any more time to waste.
"Alrighty..." Alicia said with a content smile.
Vlad was about to leave but Alicia grabbed his hand and smiled at him.
"Bye, Honey. I'll miss you..."Alicia said as she smiled at him.
"I know..."Vlad said, as he said nothing else.
"Call me when you get there, Sweet Cakes..."Alicia said before kissing his cheek tenderly.
Vlad, surprisingly, just waited for it to be done and made no effort to push her off. Once she was done, she kept saying she'll miss him and say a bunch of other stuff.
The villain ignored her words as he left the chalet and was now in his limo. Once there, he wiped his mouth clean and took a moment to let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding in.
"I can't believe that worked. All I had to do was TALK to her? Well... there goes more money I didn't have to spend..." He said before shaking his head.
He tried not to think about that. He tried to think of more important stuff. Such as world domination and getting what is rightfully his.
"Now..." He stroked his chin. "I'm so out of the loop at what Daniel's been doing, and I can't have that. I need to find some way to give him grief even when I'm not around. Hmm... maybe it's time I had some... assistants..."He said, getting ideas.
That's when he looked up on his tablet, looking up three certain people in the news lately. He was familiar faces. He pondered at the idea.
After all, the little badger had his own little team. Perhaps it was time he had one of his own
Hours Later
In London
It was mealtime and the residents of this school were already being served but Colette had no desire to go eat right now.
She had no appetite and no desire for her, a descendent of nobility, would dine with a bunch of criminal scum. She refused to see herself as one of them. She ignored the orders to go to lunch and would just deal with whatever punishment from those peasants later, not caring what was in-store for her disobedience.
Right now, she just wanted to be alone.
She was devastated, defeated, humiliated and alone. All alone.
She spent the last 3 hours crying her eyes out after Danny and his minions left. Without them, she had no means of escaping. She was still simmering from her earlier outburst and was letting the silence around her set in.
She lost everything, her heart was broken, and she will never see the only boy she ever loved ever again.
"Mon Amore...how could you? I did all of this for you!..."Colette said, as she felt a part of herself break and was unsure what to do next.
Why was he being so stubborn with his pretending to care about the interests of others or his friends and family, then being with her?
She worked so hard to win his heart, and look where it got her?
He betrayed her and abandoned her...just like her mother...just like those gold diggers...and just like her Papa now too.
It wasn't right!
"It wasn't supposed to turn out like this. Why did this happened?..."Colette wept, more tears falling from her eyes, and she didn't bother to wipe them or care how pathetic she looked right now.
Right now, she was lost at this moment and wasn't in the right mind to think straight.
"It's all over now! I lost...I lost everything!..."She thought, crying in silence as she remained in this room, all alone.
There was soon a knock on the door, but Colette didn't bother to open it. She didn't even react when it opened as one of the school's guards appeared.
"Mealtime, Bevier..." A female guard said as she appeared with a tray of food, and she was wearing a hat covering her eyes.
Despite her bitterness and misery, Colette was confused.
"Huh? Didn't that wrinkly old crone say that all students were to eat in that disgusting mess hall?..."She wondered, not understanding.
She and her parents were told that students were to listen to rules and staff, if not they would be punishment properly. She didn't know all the rules and until her orientation and initial meetings with that potbellied quack they employed in this dump tomorrow, she was not allowed to interact with the general population.
While this was a bit out of the ordinary, Colette didn't seem to care all that much as the guard placed the tray in front of her and lifted the metal top, revealing something that surprised Colette.
It was a fancy looking gourmet meal of a fillet mignon with vegetables cooked in a rich broth, escargot, a seemingly freshly baked croissant and even creme brulee for dessert...all with fine silver wear and even a beautiful flower in a vase to add taste.
The brat was surprised. This hardly was the meal she expected in a dump like this
"Huh?..."She went, surprised.
"Not that I am complaining about the suddenly competent service, but what is the meaning of this?..."She asked, not expecting this.
The guard for some reason smirked.
"Let's just say that there's more of that coming your way. Well, as long as you cooperate..."The "guard" said, before taking off her hat.
Once she did, Colette got a good look at her face and instantly recognized her.
"Yolanda?!..."Colette went, shocked.
"The one and only..."The woman said, smirking with pride while the teen girl was confused.
"How did you get here? And what did you do to your hair?..."The brat asked out loud, since her appearance has changed.
Yolanda's hair had changed now a rich blonde with brown highlights. She was also wearing contacts lenses in her eyes giving her gray eyes and the edges of a tattoo poking out of her wrist. However, her face was still the same...only because Colette was smart enough to notice the details.
"It's called disguise, Princess. You ruined my previous cover with your botch job, so I need to lay low for a while. Plus, I needed a new look..."Yolanda said with pride, being vain but Colette didn't have time for this.
"How did you even get in here? The security is supposed to be top notch..."Colette said.
"All places claim they are. There is always a hole, a few gaps to crawl into, that is if you look for the right places...and let's just say I know a guy who knows those places..."Yolanda said dismissively, hinting that she has prior experience of breaking in and out of places.
Colette was still confused by her presence here. It seems there was more to Yolanda than just another gold digger with a pretty face. But something didn't add up.
"How did the police not find you? I was told that you and Cartland were arrested..." Colette demanded to know.
"No, only that moron Cartland did. The cops caught me, but I managed to get away..."Yolanda said nonchalantly, shocking the brat.
"How?..."Colette asked, still surprised by this skill of hers.
"Sorry, but that's my little secret. It's actually a secret of the trade and I prefer to keep certain things to myself..."Yolanda said, not wanting to reveal any personal stuff about herself.
"This isn't the first time I changed my identity either. Heck, Yolanda isn't even my real name...not that I'm telling you it...even Cartland doesn't know it and I was married to him for a year..." Yolanda pointed.
"So, what do I call you then?..."Colette demanded.
"Well, according to the name tag to this uniform I swiped, you can call me Emma for the sake of convenience..."Yolanda, or Emma said with a smirk, meaning it as a joke.
"Fine...whatever...now answer me this Emma...or Yolanda...or whatever...why are you here? You and I are nothing to each other!..." Colette said, wanting to know what bring this gold digger to her.
"Au contraire, you and I can be very good friends...as long as we both help each other, and you cooperate...we can both get what we want in the end..."Yolanda said, which caught Colette's immediate attention.
"I literally have nothing now and I am a prisoner here. What can I possible give you in zhis prison? Whatever is it that your after?..."Colette asked, wondering what she really wanted.
"Easy, you can help me get in good with Jean-Luc so I can have the life I deserve, and I can help you get back in your Papa's good graces...as well as get your precious little boyfriend..."Yolanda/Emma said, smirking.
This got the fake red heads attention.
"I'm listening..."Colette said in an intrigued tone, wanting to hear this.
"First. We need to stop being so impatient and take your time ...and prove to this school that you're not crazy..."Yolanda/Emma said, only to get immediately cut of by the French brat.
"I am not crazy!..." Colette almost shouted back; however, she stopped herself from scream all that loudly because she didn't want to draw any unwanted attention.
"Fine, whatever. I don't care but we need to fix everything you did and you'll need the long game for this one..."Yolanda/ Emma said, pointing out Colette's flaws.
"The problem was with your stupid plan was how short sighted it was..."The woman criticized.
"What are you talking about?..."Colette demanded, not liking being criticized.
"Princess, the only one who really believed your fake evidence was a tub of lard superintendent and two idiot teachers who are probably going to get their license revoked, if they're lucky..."Yolanda said, disgusted at their stupidity.
"It still almost worked! Those minions of Estelle's simply cheated somehow!..."Colette said.
"I heard about what happened. I hadn't seen a party go south that bad since my uncle's birthday with his college buddies..."Yolanda criticized.
"I suppose you could have done better..."Colette said.
"With my hands tied behind my back since I don't allow myself to get caught. Ever..."Yolanda/ Emma said.
"What are you talking about?..."Colette demanded.
"Princess, I have been in this game for much longer than you and I know all the tricks needed...and how to cover your tracks and to actually win...and to win without ever being suspected or caught..."Yolanda/Emma said to the spoiled brat, sounding far more confident in her own skills than Colette.
"If you want to win big, you got to be creative, patient, and use anything useful, no matter how small it is. You can't just rely on blackmail, threats, misdirection and correction ...you got to play the right notes... how to use all these tricks and more to get away with anything. It's almost like playing a clarinet, learn one song is fine and all, but if you learn how to play multiple songs with one instrument than you can make band..."Yolanda said.
"What does that even mean?..."Colette demanded.
"Just shut up and listen. If you wanted to trick people, you needed to create plausible doubt... not over a single weekend...over a long time. You need to use truths mixed in with your lies to get people to trust in your words more so that don't tear down your alibi..."Yolanda said, lecturing the girl and giving her advice.
"Also, if you REALLY want to steal a guy from some stupid woman...you can't be aggressive...that was your mistake..."The criminal said, getting the girls attention.
"If you TRULY want to win that little boyfriends of yours over and steal him away from that blonde brat, you have to make sure he only sees what you want him to see...not let him see what you really are. You have to be careful around those who might be threats and see through you but not be so obvious that you are doing that since he will resent that. You got to do that while you play the person whose indispensable and, become a friend, a confidante and then finally he gives you his heart instead of you stealing it like a fool. That's a surefire way to get a man hooked on you. I know...if worked for me plenty of times..."Yolanda said with a proud look on her face, until she remembered a certain someone who didn't fall for her tricks.
She did frown momentarily as she recalled something.
"Well...99 percent of the time anyway...I still can't believe that Vlad Masters turned me down 3 years ago! And after all that work I put in tracking him down and learning his tastes. I even went to that lame football game just to meet him. All he cared was some lady named Maddie something or whatever!..."She thought before shaking her head and recalling how disgusted she was while pretending to be a football fan.
"Sadly, I'm pretty sure it far too late for this brat to even attempt to try stealing her stepsister's boyfriend at this point. Although Colette doesn't need to know that. Not yet anyway..."She thought, not wanting to think of her one fluke with Masters.
She also tried not to think of the three days of bad luck she endured almost a week ago that nearly resulted in her getting caught by the cops. Thankfully, she managed to outsmart them in the end and is here for her next plan.
All the while Colette was speechless, hearing it spelled out.
It was so obvious in hindsight.
"That certainly sounds like it makes sense. How did I not see it before?..."Colette said.
"Well, you're young. You'll learn..."Yolanda said dismissively.
"Now...enough about that. Let's get back to business. Here's the deal, you help me get a rock on my finger from your dear old daddy and I'll get that kid down on one knee for you..."She said, while Colette still had some doubts.
"So..you will help me with Danny and make sure I don't lose status as heir...and I help you marry Papa and get your name printed in his inheritance as the new Madame Bevier? That is what you want?..."Colette asked and the thief nodded.
"Yeah, even if it does end in divorce, I know the alimony I could get is way more than enough so I can still live in the lap of luxury for the rest of my life...though I still prefer being Madame Bevier for life, if possible, but I'm being realistic here. Your papa is by far the best guy I have found, and I want him. So...what do you say princess? It's a pretty good deal to me..."Yolanda said, thinking of all the money she could soon get as long as she sticks with him and Colette.
"At least this gold digger is honest about it and accepts reality as it is..."Colette thought, before thinking about Yolanda's plan.
This woman certainly seemed to have a few ulterior motives up her sleeves, but she is also the only ally that's approached her as of late. Still, she knew that this expert gold digger was her one and only chance to get her out of here.
"You say I can help you get together with Papa? How? He is not listening to me, and he just abandoned me! He hates me!..."Colette said, while Yolanda rolled her eyes.
"Chill out, brat. He doesn't hate you..."The woman said, annoyed with her whining.
"Yes, he does! If he still loved me, he wouldn't allow me to be trapped in a place like this and he would threaten to make that little diaper stainer his sole heir!..."Colette said, crying now.
The con woman rolled her eyes and decided to spell it out for her.
"Listen her, princess...If your papa really did hate, he would have disinherited you and disowned you on the spot. The fact that he is still considering leaving you something in his will after this shows he still sees value in you and is still holding out hope that you might have been framed deep down..."Yolanda said, getting the girl's attention.
"R-Really? Are you sure Papa still loves me? But he was yelling at me, and I have never seen him THAT angry at me one in my whole life?..."Colette asked, sounding unsure.
"Believe me, that shocked me too. But it's the truth. I've known your papa for a few months and even I can see he loves you...but this whole incident is making him, and his business look bad, so he's got to play bad cop for a while in order to regain favor with his stockbrokers. But the fact that he is still considering not disinheriting you if you learn to play nice is proof that he's still willing to keep you within arms ls length. You still have a chance if you play your cards right..."Yolanda said.
Hearing this made Colette less distracted about her situation and got her thinking as her wanna-be stepmother kept talking to her.
"Now, I assume you now fully understand my proposal of the two of us helping out one another?..."Yolanda asked.
Colette took a moment to think about this new partnership being offered, before speaking up.
"Can you actually help me with Danny and me keeping my status as heiress? Papa despises Mon Amore, and I am on thin ice with him, so it will be hard to turn him into someone worthy of my family's elite name without Papa's support..."Colette went, still wondering how they can get Danny in her Papa's good graces.
"All daddies hate who their little girls date. My parents hated every guy I ever date and told me to immediately dump them without every giving them a chance. And for what? All just because they were married or had criminal records, crashed a car or even call them old man or pops once or twice...like that's a problem..."Yolanda/ Emma retorted, while Colette sent her a confused look.
The con woman ignored it and went back to business.
"Now, here is the deal...your papa said that as long as you behave, then there is a chance you can still inherit your fortune...I can help make sure that happens...all you need to do is help me out in divorcing him from his current wife, What's-her-face...and while you stay here, trying and act like you actually are listening to those quacks and behave like one of those goodie two-shoes. This school acts tough but all they really want is to think you and all the other brats here learned their lesson. So just give them that and let them think that you suddenly turned into the person they want you to be..."Yolanda said.
"So...just pretend to be what they want me to be? Act zee part?..."Colette suggested.
"You did it for that stupid cow stepmom of yours for years... so what makes pretending to be nice around all these nobodies any different?..."Yolanda pointed out and the spoiled brat saw her point.
"Why not keep lying and pretending during your stay here, play the model student...no matter how boring or tough it gets...at least until you can convince your parents you "changed" or whatever it is that they want...and you help me get Jean-Luc's ring on my finger and I'll help you get your precious Danny afterwards. So, is it a deal?..." Yolanda asked, knowing that only one of them will actually end up with the guy they want.
Colette mulled it over.
This was an alliance of convenience, nothing more and yet, this is her best chance of possibly getting her life back. Not to mention getting out of this horrid place faster than her parent's planned.
"I don't trust this woman...yet...maybe I can use her until I no longer have need of her...and if the most she wants is to become Papa's new decoration, then fine. I don't care about that. Papa can marry who he wants, it's all the same to me. All that matters to me is that I get what I want in the end..."The brat thought, as she considered her options and made her decision.
After another moment, the brat smiled evilly and made her decision as she nodded.
"You have a deal, Mon Ami..." Colette held out her hand and Yolanda shook it to agree to the conditions.
"Smart girl. Glad to see you got your Papa's brains at least..."Yolanda said, while Colette smiled.
"Thank you..."Colette said darkly, not knowing that the older woman didn't mean that as a compliment.
Yolanda then handed Colette a burner cellphone.
"Use this to call or text me whenever you are alone and away from the security cameras. Don't lose it and don't break it, I only have one and I am NOT showing up again to give you a replacement..."She said.
"Very well. I can keep track of a simple phone. I'll find a way to keep this hidden from prying eyes..."Colette said, as she quickly hid the new phone in her suitcase, next to something else that she's kept secret.
"Good. See, I knew we would become good friends and I know this is gonna be a really good partnership too..."The con woman said, smirking.
Yolanda/ Emma then pulled out an expensive and organic lemonade and poured it in two glasses. She then handed one to the brat.
"To us getting what we deserve..."Yolanda declared, grinning darkly.
"To us getting what we deserve..."Colette said as their glasses clink, while both of them really meant "I" when they said "we".
Emma/ Yolanda left before anyone caught her here, leaving Colette for now.
Colette smirked as it seemed that things weren't as hopeless as she thought.
She still has a chance!
She still had a chance to make things right and get everything that was meant to be hers all along!
She still has hope...she just had to listen to Yolanda's advice and pretend that this place has truly changed her for the better or whatever during this so-called rehabilitation. Once she was free and had her father's love and obedience again, as well as securing her status as heiress, she will be able to return to her old life and finally regain what is rightfully hers.
Including her king.
"You will be mine, Mon amor. I swear it on the stars..."Colette thought sinisterly as she used her utensils and ate the five-star meal that Yolanda brought her, making sure not to be caught and to eat every last bite.
She wasn't going to leave any evidence of her upgraded meal for anyone to discover. Especially not the Headmistress, who she is calling the old crone. She just had to buy her time and sooner or later, she's going to get what she truly deserves.
She just knew it.
Outside
"Well, that was done..." Yolanda thought, interacting with what's her face was such a hassle.
She had such better people who she could be talking to, but she had to do this. That little nutcase was still a lose end that needed to be taken care of, but she also still had value as one of her backup plans for her earn that easy life that she been desiring for a few years by now.
"I just need her to work with me for now..."Yolanda thought.
Still, she had tons of other people whom she rather be around with plenty of wealth stashed deep in their pockets.
Like her Jean-Luc!
"Just a little while longer and I'll have my Jean-Luc in no time flat..."She thought as she soon arrived to her temporary hideout, a small inn that a friend of hers owned and lets her crash whatever she's in town.
There, displayed on a table and all around her temporary rooms were wigs, passport, ID'S and LOTS of makeup, colored contacts and even spray tans and other features to change her appearance when necessary. There was also a rare looking moisturizer to help make her skin pale if she wanted to use it. Even if the stuff she used to change my temporarily change her appearance certainly wasn't cheap, it does do wonders.
The woman then tried to think of who she will be now.
"Okay...Let's see...should I go as Serenity, the angelic hospital volunteer from Miami this time? That one worked when I was wooing that heart surgeon until his fiancé found out...No...if I remember correctly, she's banned in three states, and I can't use this in Amity Park since that Jeremy Manson guy's family knows the guy and I can't take any chances of being recognized..."Yolanda considered and shook her head.
"Maybe Andrea the glamorous nanny? No...I don't want to risk having to babysit Jean-Luc's other brat..."She thought, shaking her head and rejecting that idea since one nanny job was enough to make her swear her off ever having brats of her own.
She kept looking at her other disguises.
"I could go as Marlene the stewardess from Hawaii who is technically seeing the pilot...and the co-pilot at the same time...No, not a good idea. I might need to use some unconventional identities for this one. Speaking of which, he'll be visiting in a few months I'll have to make sure to be there so he can spoil me rotten until I can get Jean-Luc's ring on my finger..."She thought, while going through her other options.
"Maybe Annabella, the aspiring model. That one got a lot of attention...but she is still technically seeing that Hollywood director...might not be a good idea to showoff that eye candy out just yet. Don't want to risk getting caught by the paparazzi..."Yolanda said, still looking through of her carefully crafted separate identities.
Which one was it? So many identities so many men who spoiled her. She loved that but Yolanda considered herself smart and kept her options open until she found her biggest cash cow. And she finally did find just the right one to proceed her plans with.
Jean-Luc is the richest man she ever came across. He's got every one of the things on her checklist for marriage and possible eventual divorce later since even then, his bank account would set her up for life.
She wanted to marry him more than anything. However, until then, she saw no reason not to continue seeing her "friends" and switch up her lifestyles for some fun and as a plan B.
After all, every girl needs to keep her options open.
She then spotted one disguise and smiled in approval as she eyed it.
"Ahh, perfect. It has been a while since I tried something like this, I almost forgot about this one..."Yolanda said as she put on her new disguise.
With curly blonde wig, sparkling purple contacts that shine like amethysts and enough foundation to hide certain blemishes on her body, she was ready. She was always super cautious about her appearance and never left anything go unnoticed until she was completely satisfied with the final results.
Anyway, she put on a sleek black dress that that she used for special occasions and a pair of her nicest high heels and put on some of her most expensive perfume that she had. She knew that she was a knockout, and that was good for her.
She then made a call and soon was picked up in a limo. One with Jean-Luc Bevier, seemingly wait for her with an expansive gift at the ready. Yolanda sat beside him, fluttering her eyes and sending him a coquette look as she joined him in the limo.
"Hey Jean-Luc, Mon, Amore. I missed you..."Yolanda greeted in a Scottish accent, while the rich man smiled at her.
"Oh, L'amour De Ma Vie. How are you, Mon Cherie Iris?..."Jean Luc said, smiling at her.
"Just happy to see you, Darling..."The woman, now Iris, said before sharing a kiss with him.
Once done, Jean Luc began to complain about recent events.
"Mon Cherie, you have no idea the nightmare I've been through in the past week!..." Jean Luc told her.
"Oh poor baby. Tell your bien-aimée all about it, Darling. You're Iris will make it all better for you..." Yolanda said, listening to her biggest cash cow tell her all about what's her face tarnishing his good name.
She kept listening to him, just happy that at least the cops won't be able to find her in this new look. Not that she'd ever allow it to happen again so easily. They didn't find her before, and they would never find her. She made sure of that.
Her boyfriend then bemoaned the embarrassment what's-her-face put him through.
"I don't know what I am going to do with that child! I gave her everything and this is how she repays me! She just better learn to behave or it's game over for her, I am telling you-..."Jean Luc kept complaining.
Once done, he simply went on to talk about himself and everything that's happen to him from his own point of view. And never once seeming to notice that his latest love...was the same one whom he had lost contact for over a week...not that he really minded or care all that much about his previous love.
The gold digger/crook smirked internally, just enjoying the fact that she was with her cash cow...I mean boyfriend...and he didn't suspect a thing.
"One good thing about men is that they never really pay attention to what's in front of them...which makes this all the easier for me..."Yolanda/Emma/Iris thought as Jean-Luc just kept on talking about himself and never once asked her a question about her.
She didn't care, just glad he was so easy to manipulate.
"Good looking, filthy rich...and gullible. Jackpot!..."The con woman thought, as she and her boyfriend continued their date.
She was sure that once this was all over and convince Jean-Luc to let her deal with Colette, things would go her way.
Meanwhile
In America
Team Phantom returned home, managing to avoid getting caught by their parents and now they could finally relax and take it easy knowing that the worse is finally behind them for good.
Currently, it was sun set and Star and Danny were sitting under a tree on a grassy hill, admiring the view.
"Beautiful..."Star said.
"Yes, you are..."Danny said, making her chuckle.
"Really? You're saying that again..."Star said.
"What? It's true..."Danny said, making her smile and blush.
Star let out a happy sigh, feeling bliss and peace right now.
"This is the life..."She thought as she snuggled closer to Danny as they watched the sunset.
As Danny and Star remained close to each other, they began thinking of how close they came to being permanent apart. They both were just glad that never ended up happening.
"Colette bites..."Danny said, while his girlfriend frowned at the mere mention of that brat's name.
"Tell me something I don't already know, Danny-Boo..."Star said, "She really was as evil as one could possibly get..."She added, her good mood souring a bit.
"I'll say. I can't believe that after all that, she still refuses to own up what she did and had the nerve to blame us for what happened..."Danny said, shaking his head in disgust.
"I believe it. Colette NEVER likes admitting she is wrong..."Star said flatly.
"No kidding, that witch was always a monster. All we did was trick her into showing the world that..."Danny said, recalling what they did at Star's birthday party.
Star sighed.
"I'm sorry, Danny..."She said, feeling down.
"What are you sorry about?..."Danny asked, confused while his girlfriend sighed bitterly.
"Honestly, I can't help but feel a little responsible. I mean... only met Colette because it was my dumb idea to invite you to meet my stepfamily in the first place. If not, she probably would have returned to Paris and never cause you any trouble..."Star said, feeling bad but her boyfriend stopped her.
"Stop, Star. Don't say that. NONE of what happened is your fault. Like we all said to Colette earlier, she's responsible for her own actions. It was all her fault, not yours so don't even think you are to blame for this..."Danny said, being serious.
"I know she's responsible for her own choices, but I still feel bad you got involved in this twisted game she created. I know it was horrible what you went through..."Star said, placing her hand on his.
Her boyfriend frowned.
"Horrible would be putting it mildly. Nightmare is more appropriate. I still can't believe that in Colette's warped mind, "boyfriend" and "slave" are basically the same thing..."Danny said in bitterness.
"She thinks the same thing about the words "friends" and "minions" too..."Star said, frowning as she recalled that.
Danny frowned.
"Why am I not surprised? She really is rotten, enough that she makes Vlad seem almost likeable..."He said, frowning as he recalled those awful days.
His girlfriend knew he didn't like talking about this and wanted to change the subject.
"Let's not give Psycholette a second thought, she's gone and she won't be returning..."Star said in an encouraging way, making Danny smile.
"You're right. She's gone, we're together and that's all that matter, Starlight..."Danny said, making her smile again.
"Couldn't have said it better myself, Danny-Boo..."The blonde girl said and the two shared a hug and remained close like this for a while.
"Hey, Danny?..."Star asked suddenly.
"Yeah?..."Danny responded.
"Remember our half-a-versary last week, Danny-Boo?..."Star said, snuggling closer to him.
Danny smiled.
"How can I forget? It was awesome..."He said with a smile.
"I still can't believe you got us a table at Chateau Prétenche of all places. That place is really exclusive and near impossible to get a reservation..."Star said, still amazed by that.
"Like I said, thank your mom and dad. Them pulling some strings is how I even got in the first place..." Danny said, having asked for their help a month ago to get a table there.
However, he only asked them to help him get the table. He ended up paying for the meal with money he saved up from doing extra chores, odd jobs and he also asked Sam to borrow some money.
Money, which he would pay back but Sam insisted he didn't have to, but he didn't like owing his friends money. So, he knew he would be stuck in her debt for a while.
"Worth it..." Danny thought, recalling the look in Star's eyes when he brought her there.
"It was beyond great..." Star said.
"Only the best for you, Starlight..."Danny said, making her giggle.
The ghost boy smiled as he recalled the look on her face when he brought her to the restaurant where they would celebrate.
A day he knew he would always remember
FLASHBACK
It was the day after Star's birthday party, and it was ALSO the day of Danny and Star's OFFICIAL six-month anniversary.
After the most chaotic birthday party in history, things finally improved, and Colette is currently under house arrest and can't bother them anymore.
That was the BEST part so far!
"I haven't felt this freed since flying in the air for the first time..."Danny thought, smiling in a relaxed way.
Predictably, Colette's party was cancelled, and she was still in a lot of trouble. The families of those she hurt didn't like their names being dragged into a criminal case and had joined Johnathan's suit, giving Jean-Puke and Colette more legal grief.
Serves them right. Not only was Colette a monster, but her father also did nothing to dissuade her from her negative qualities.
"She got what she deserved..."Danny thought, happy she is finally being punished.
Now, our favorite couple could enjoy their special day in peace, something she had robbed her of. Not anymore, they can finally enjoy themselves without any fake redhead Psychollette's to worry about.
As promised, Danny brought Star to a place called Chateau Prétenche, a fancy restaurant that is viewed as one of the most exclusive places in Amity Park. The lovebirds could both see it earned their reputation as a romantic and classy dining establishment.
"Wow, you actually got us a table here..."Star said, wearing a baby blue dress that was the same shade as Danny's eyes.
Danny, wearing his good suit, nodded and smiled at her.
"Only the best for you, Starlight..."Danny said.
"But seriously...this place is pretty expensive. You don't have to phase into a bank or anything..."Star said half-joking, not wanting to burden him but he didn't mind.
"Don't worry. I saved my allowance...and asked Sam to make up the difference which I will be paying off in a month..."He said as they went to the maitre D.
"Table for 2, under Fenton..."Danny said.
The maitre D checked for the name, nodding upon seeing it.
"Ah, of course, Mr. Fenton. Your table is waiting for you both..."He said as he led them inside.
Soon, Danny and Star were seated in the middle of the fancy restaurant. The waiter handed them their menu's and soon took their orders.
The couple was then left alone in the middle of the romantic restaurant as they waited for their meals, but they were not focusing on that. The two lovebirds stared at each other's eyes lovingly, like nothing else mattered in the world. Danny placed his hand on top of hers, smiling lovingly while Star returned that exact same smile.
"Happy anniversary, Starlight..."The ghost boy said with love and affection in his voice.
Happy Anniversary, Danny boo..."Star said, with just as much love and affection in her voice.
Danny and Star soon leaned in and shared a kiss, both just happy that they finally had a a night to themselves.
And a GHOST-FREE and COLETTE-FREE one too.
End Of Flashback
Present Time
That entire day had been nothing short of blissful and it would be a time they would both cherish for a long time.
"What are you thinking about, Boo?..."Star asked, noticing that he seemed deep in thought.
"Oh, just our half-a-versary..."Danny said and his girlfriend smiled.
"What a coincidence. So was I..."Star said, giggling happily.
"Wanna know what my favorite part of it was?..."She said in a playful way.
"What was it?..."Danny asked.
"I'll give you a hint..."Star said as she placed a gentle kiss on his.
Danny smiled and returned it.
"Huh...what a coincident...that was my favorite part too..."He said with a coy smile.
"Oh, Danny-Boo!~..."Star sighed dreamily as she blushed hard.
Danny grinned leaning close to Star.
"We're on top of the world, Starlight. Colette's defeated and gone for good, the fruitloop is out of town doing who knows what and the old hag is still going to be a magic hobo for a few more months. It's perfect..."Danny said.
"Yeah, for sure. We defeated each of our enemy's time and time again and showed that witch who she was messing with. Nothing is standing between you and me..."Star said, glad to be free of her longest thorn in her side.
"Yeah, And I'll beat into oblivion anyone who dares getting between us again..." Danny said, while his girlfriend smiled.
"Good to know, Boo. That's right. Nothing can get between us..."Star said lovingly.
"Yeah, nothing except air, which I'm pushing my way through just to get closer to you..."Danny said, while his girlfriend giggled.
"I like the sound of that, Danny-Boo..." Star said, leaning in close.
The couple soon shared a kiss, both feeling wonderful right now for a lot of reason.
They were finally free of the biggest obstacle in their relationship, and they no longer had to worry about a stalker who just can't take no for an answer. At least for now, they were sure this wasn't the last they would see of Psycolette but they also knew that they would be ready when they crossed paths again.
They also knew that she no longer was a threat. Even if she tried anything, they also knew that both the law and everyone else was on their side now. Nothing would ever go her way again.
In the meantime, all was right with the world and our favorite couple were on top of the world, confident that they both could handle any obstacle life threw at them. They could handle anything that tried to get in their way, and it was true. But now the biggest obstacle was gone now, and they can finally relax.
At least for now...
