"Where are we?" I ask CelestiCat, though I like sitting on the puffy white clouds. "Adrien is struggling to get to the healer, and your body grows weaker, Marinette. Here, your in no danger. Come, I have things to show you." "My head feels kinda funny, now that you mention it." I rub at my temples, like I'm getting a headache. "Here, take my hand. I promise you'll feel better soon."

I place my hand in his, gasping at the softness. Celesticat drapes his wings around me for a moment, and I feel safe here, hidden from the world below. Then we're off, and I spy a small waterfall pool up ahead.

"You may rest or drink here, or you may play in the water," he says, leaving me to my own thoughts. I take a look at myself on the water's surface. Curious, I scoop up a handful of cloud, surprised it stays together in my hand. It sinks upon the water, causing ripples to form. Adrien.

Droplets of water now from my own eyes, as I miss him terribly. Am I going to die? Will I see Adrien again? CelestiCat is right there with me, once again shielding me with those feathers. "Being apart from your loved one is hard, I know. Its not easy for him either." "How do you know these things?" I blow my nose on a hankie he kindly offers. "Because under the mask and suit, I'm Adrien, but not your Adrien. More like your Guardian cat."

"Would you like some tea? Tea is very calming." I nod, and in an instant a fragrant cup of blueberry tea and a cookie appear in my hand.

I curl up in the white softness, the shifting of the clouds rocking me to sleep. In my dream, I'm floating slowly downwards, earthwards, and a bitter taste fills my mouth. It becomes so bitter I want to gag and turn my head away, but the taste grows stronger, consuming me.

And then my eyes flutter open, finding myself back on Earth. "What happened? Adrien?" I'm still on my pile of leaves and Adrien is here, corking a small vial. An older man in a charcoal gray cloak smiles at me.

"Welcome back to the land of living, Marinette." "Was I dead?" "Very near to it. Adrien reached me just in time, and got the potion in you right before the end."

"I missed you, but I was busy. I was in "The Space Between." Adrien strokes my cheek with his fingers, giving me a loving look. "I'm sure it was a lovely place, my love, but your nearly dead." I want to tell him about CelestiCat, and the clouds, but for now, I'll keep it secret.

Moving is difficult, but I can turn my head, once again looking at Master Fu. "Are you the man who can wake Adrien's mother?" I hold my baited breath. He chuckles. "I may have the vial, but it will be you, who wakes her, Marinette." "Me? Why me?" "Because, your heart is pure, and you were the one to make the vow. Though I give you the potion now, guard it wisely and carefully. Evil hands would love to take from you, and use it for their own selfish purposes."

The vial is about as long as my finger, a green glowing liquid sloshes within. I transform, carefully putting it in my compact. After, I select the mirror setting, happy to see my face again, though I look so tired, and black circles ring my eyes. My cheeks have sunk a little, but as if reading my thoughts, Master Fu assures me its an easy fix.

"You should be heading back to Paris soon, and don't worry, Marinette, you'll feel right as rain in no time." "But how do we get home from Paris?" Adrien asks, and Master Fu chuckles, pulling a item from his voluminous cloak. "With this," he tells us, and Adrien and I shield our eyes as a shimmering light bursts forth. "Another Kwami!" I exclaim. "I'm not just another Kwami," this horse Kwami with a British accent snaps at me. "My name is Khali." "Marinette has Plagg, Nikki, and Dussu helping her and Adrien," Master Fu tells it. "It doesn't think any else of you. Now, would you send them home to Paris?"

With a small sniff, the Kwami nods. "I'd be glad to." A portal opens and Adrien helps me to my feet, supporting me. Already, I can feel myself grower stronger.

"Goodbye and thank you," I wave, taking one last look at the kindly man as I step through the light. Surprisingly enough, we are back in my office at work, and I flop down in my desk chair.

"Whew, and I'll I was trying to do was get home from the park!" "That was quite adventure, but I don't know what I'd do without you in my life now, Marinette."

I stand up, walking over to him. "We've certainly come a long way since I splashed you with coffee, eh, Agreste?" I nudge him. He takes my arm, pulling me in close. "That we have, Miss Dupain-Cheng. Now, with your permission, I'd like to kiss you."

"And what if I say no?" I tease playfully, tapping his nose. "Then I shall pout for the rest of my life." "My, my, that is a long time, for nine lives…." Adrien cuts me off, and I melt into the kiss. I forget where I am, expect that Adrien is here.

"And here I thought I was a normal girl, with a normal life," I whisper as Adrien finds unexplored areas of my face to kiss.

"Oh, Marinette, you are no ordinary girl, but an extraordinary one." "Good, because if you botched that answer, you'd be fending for yourself for dinner tonight. Though I do love pasta…."

Adrien and I exit my office, and ride down the elevator, finding more time to kiss. Just as I go to exit, I feel a sharp stabbing pain and the world grows fuzzy, though this time I'm not ill as I fall instantly asleep.
