I do not own The Mr. Men Show or any of its characters, but I do own Elizabeth and the idea for this story.

As he watched his best friend walk away, Mr. Small frowned, and when he was out of sight, he turned his feet toward the center of town. He kicked a rock that was in his path, sighing deeply as he did so.

Why am I doing this? he asked himself. Why didn't I just go home when I had the chance?

Even if he didn't want to admit it, he knew the answer to that question. Deep down he didn't want to leave Mr. Nosy in this world alone. Knowing him, he might screw up and expose our secret, and then somehow news of the portal might get to our world and that would be it. I'll never see Elizabeth again…

Yet he felt like there was more to it than simply worrying about being cut off from his girlfriend. Mr. Nosy was still his friend, and no matter how much Mr. Small may change, he will always want to help him, even at the risk of revealing their portal.

He had been so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even realize that he had entered the town until he heard voices around him. Looking up, he saw the counterparts of his friends walking past him. Some of them called out greetings to him, believing he was the Mr. Small from this Dillydale. He forced a cheerful smile and waved at them, putting on the same act he did in his own world

Despite himself, he found enjoyment in fooling them, just like he did with his real friends. Sometimes he wondered how it wasn't so obvious that he wasn't who he pretended to be, but then he reminded himself that he was just really good at acting.

He almost forgot the whole reason he was here; but when he caught a glimpse of a familiar color, his plan returned to him. I need to talk him into coming with me, which shouldn't be that hard, he thought as he watched his best friend's counterpart cross the street.

He ran after him, calling his name. To his surprise, the light green Mr. Man rounded on him, glaring down at him.

"Go away!" he snapped.

Mr. Small blinked, too shocked to speak for several moments. Then he recovered himself and calmly said," Hello. I have something to show you, so please follow–"

Mr. Nosy continued to glare at him. "I said go away," he repeated.

Mr. Small took a step back. He didn't understand. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"What's wrong?" Mr. Nosy echoed, widening his eyes. "A-Are you serious?" Groaning dramatically, he turned away and started to leave. "I didn't think you could get any dumber," he said over his shoulder.

Now over his shock, pure rage ran through Mr. Small, and he ran in front of the nosy Mr. Man. "I'm dumb?" he shouted. "Are you kidding me? I can't believe you called me dumb!"

Clearly taken aback, Mr. Nosy stumbled backwards and stared down at him. "Um…" He obviously didn't know what to say, but Mr. Small didn't wait for him to regain his senses.

Having no patience whatsoever anymore, Mr. Small grabbed his hand and pulled him away from town. He was leading him toward the abandoned observatory. He didn't really care about whatever happened between his and Mr. Nosy's counterparts, and he just wanted to go home. But he wasn't going to let Mr. Nosy– this one or his– get away with calling him dumb.

After several moments, Mr. Nosy found his voice again. "Where are you taking me?" he demanded, and he pulled his hand out of Mr. Small's grip. He stopped and looked around. Recognition entered his eyes and then anger. "When I thought you couldn't get any lower," he growled, glaring at him. "Why are we going back there?"

"I don't have time to explain, but if you follow me, all will make sense."

Mr. Nosy shook his head. "No, I'm not going back. Why can't you just leave me alone?" His voice broke and his eyes started watering. But then he shook his head and quickly turned away.

Groaning, Mr. Small took a step toward him, but before he could say anything, he heard voices– familiar voices, and he realized his Mr. Nosy was coming up the path with the other Mr. Small.

The Mr. Nosy from this Dillydale didn't seem to have heard them and he started walking away. Then he froze, just as the two Mr. Men appeared. He stared at them with huge eyes, mouth open in shock.

As soon as Mr. Small's counterpart saw the light green Mr. Man, he ran over there, but stopped a ways from him. "H-Hello, Mr. Nosy."

His friend looked at him, and then turned to the other Mr. Small. A shocked expression on his face, he started backing away, shaking his head. "No… No… There can't be two of you…" He kept retreating until he ran into the observatory, unable to take his eyes off the same Mr. Men who now stood beside each other.

Mr. Nosy from the other Dillydale stepped forward and faced his counterpart. "Breathe. In and out. I know this is a lot."

At first the other Mr. Nosy just stared at him; then his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he slid down to the ground. Mr. Small realized that he just got the shock of a lifetime and he had blacked out.

"Well, that went great," he muttered sarcastically.

His counterpart glanced at him before running to his friend. "Nose? Mr. Nosy, can you hear me?" He poked him hesitantly, before touching him on the shoulder. When the light green Mr. Man didn't respond, his worried friend started shaking him. "Please, wake up!"

Mr. Small rolled his eyes and stepped forward. Small glanced at him nervously. Ignoring him, Mr. Small hopped onto Nosy's stomach and slapped him in the face. His counterpart gasped, at the same time the Mr. Nosy from this world jerked up, throwing Mr. Small off him.

His Mr. Nosy helped him to his feet, and they watched as Nosy got up and shook his head. He looked down at his friend, rubbing his cheek. "Did you slap me?" he asked.

Small quickly shook his head. "He did," he said, gesturing to the other Mr. Small.

Nosy looked at him. "So, it wasn't a dream." He still looked really shocked. "What is going on?" he demanded. "Why are there two of us?"

"We're from another world; another Dillydale," Mr. Nosy told him.

Mr. Small shifted positions. He wouldn't have been so straight forward, but he realized now it was no use in hiding the truth from them. He cleared his throat and started to explain, but before he could say anything, Mr. Nosy stepped forward and gestured to the broken down observatory. "What happened?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. "And why aren't you friends anymore?"

Nosy glared at Small. "Ask him," he snorted.

Small sighed and looked at the others. "It's my fault. I… I made a terrible mistake…" He glanced at Nosy who turned away. "Look, Nose, I–"

"Don't call me that!" Nosy shouted, turning back to him. Anger blazed in his eyes. "You ruined this friendship the moment you decided to trick me! You know I would never have agreed to that sober!"

Mr. Small exchanged a glance with his friend. There was a part of him that wondered what happened, but mostly, he couldn't bring himself to care. He just wanted to go home. Their absence from their world would be noticed soon, if not already.

But clearly Mr. Nosy wasn't ready to go yet. "Agree to what?" he asked curiously.

Nosy looked at him. "He tricked me into sleeping with him," he finally admitted, and he shuddered as if the memory of it was so horrible.

Mr. Small stared at his counterpart, not believing that someone who looked just like him could sleep with another Mr. Man. And what did he mean by "he tricked him"? How do you trick someone into sleeping with you?

"I came home drunk one night," Nosy explained as if he could sense the questions running through Mr. Small's mind. "I don't remember much because I drank a lot. But the next morning, I woke up in his bed, and he admitted to taking advantage of me. I left immediately afterwards and I refused to see him again. But he still bugs me. I mean, why would you do that and still think I'll want to be friends with you?" This world's Mr. Nosy's voice rose until he was screaming at his former best friend, anger and hurt in his voice.

Small just stood there, staring at the ground and looking very guilty.

Mr. Nosy stepped forward to calm his counterpart. "Have you ever asked him why he did it?" he asked quietly.

Nosy stared at him and finally shook his head.

Crouching down in front of Small, Mr. Nosy lifted his head until the small Mr. Man was looking at him. "Why did you trick him into sleeping with you?" he asked.

Small widened his eyes. "I… I…" He sighed. "I couldn't help myself… I had a crush on him for a very long time, and… And when the opportunity presented itself… Well, I took it… I knew it was a mistake, but I was so desperate to please him…" He turned to Nosy. "I'm so, so, so very sorry, Nose– I mean, Mr. Nosy… I never meant to hurt you. Can-Can you ever forgive me?"

Nosy looked torn for a very long time. Then he frowned and shook his head. "No, I don't think I can. You broke my trust and once would have been bad enough, but you tricked me twice."

Mr. Small sighed. This is pathetic! I just want to go home! But he said nothing as Mr. Nosy turned a questioning look on Small.

"I told you; nothing happened that second time!" Small insisted. "We kissed for a bit, but I stopped myself from giving in, and I let you sleep it off, alone! I didn't even share the bed with you that night!"

Nosy shook his head. "I don't believe you," he murmured. "You took advantage of me once. Why should I believe you didn't again?" He turned his back on Small and started walking away. "I'm done here. Never speak to me again."

"Wait!" Small started after him, but then stopped and sat on the ground, looking very miserable.

Mr. Nosy looked at him worriedly, before looking at his best friend. Mr. Small knew what he wanted even though he didn't say it. He was about to say no, but the look Mr. Nosy was giving him made him groan and follow the other Mr. Nosy, running to catch up to him.

"Hey!" he called, but Nosy didn't stop. "Wait up!" He tried running faster and he was so focused on watching where he was putting his feet that he didn't see that this world's Mr. Nosy stopped and he ran into him. He stumbled backwards and instinctively shot the light green Mr. Man a glare. Then he took a breath to calm down.

"What do you want?" Mr. Nosy demanded, turning. He eyed him. "You're the other one, right?"

"Yes." Mr. Small took a few steps forward, heading away from town. "Walk with me. Let's talk."

At first Mr. Nosy hesitated. He glanced back toward the observatory. Then he sighed and started to follow his former best friend's counterpart.
