Of course, just in case to keep appearances, the storage sub was retrofitted with comfortable stalls and kennels, with the smell of hay and dog food faintly, while the ruins on the outside borders, with crystal energy to infuse into the ruins, has become barns and kennels in a way, and between the spaces of the transformed ruins, is soil to be sowed and such with the seeds that has been sent by portal secretly inside the Rogers house after being mailed from the Roosevelts secretly, while the outer spaces from the ruins would be areas for the horses and dogs individually to run around and such.

Wanting to see how and what the fireworks look like in Atlantis, the Roosevelts spent Christmas with their grown children and such before doing the same excuse, wanting to spend New Year's Eve in a week's vacation with the Rogers family, with the slight confession that they felt better to spend time together, and so, they went on the weekend before New Year's Eve, taking the familiar trip in the sub after a car trip.

They were glad to hear the good starting news and were happy to see the beginnings of the slightly unique farms and such on the narwhal trip, and so had another week of vacation, loving the amazing fireworks the Atlanteans imagined up and such, while doing their familiar night talks of mashing things out, with hearts mending better and more, with forgiveness.

And so, it repeated again, without the need to be buying more horses or rescuing dogs off the streets, as it's a good ending to a year, into January, to the last week where it's Franklin's birthday, and not wanting fanfare to his birthday with their grown children in New York as he just wants peace, a quiet day in the Rogers cottage to their knowledge while he actually wants another vacation, and so they went once more, this time to see with their eyes how Atlantean weddings are done, as the two couples of Rebecca and Dazis & Nerissa and Kala would be married, unknowing of the greatest gift for him and Eleanor through it would only be known here in Atlantis as they are to be still married by American standards.

"Wait, hold on, am I mishearing this? You finally uncovered a ceremony to break unwanted marriages?", Franklin asked in shock and hope as he and Eleanor was having breakfast on their third day of vacation, as today is Rebecca's birthday, like she had promised Bucky, for her wedding is to commence in the afternoon.

Kida nodded, "Yes; Milo managed to find something though he got himself a bit roughed up trying to find it since it was located in one of the more unstable ruins. Even I rarely went to that one with just how dangerous it was. Almost a sheer sign of my people's craftsmanship with just how it was able to still stand after so long with so much if it almost broken down.".

Eleanor exhaled, "And it was behind the library?", in stunned astonishment, and Kida replied, "Yes...I was upset at Milo last week when he showed up with bruises and cuts...Gods, even when I knew he was going to be okay in the healer center, he should have told me first, to at least get some people to shore up the unstable roof!", with a huff as Nina whimpered.

Kida cooed, rocking her daughter, "It's okay, I'm not angry...Return to your breakfast, sweet Nina...", kissing her forehead as Nina resumed her meal on her mammy's breast.

Kida took a deep breath, and glanced at the Roosevelt couple, "I'm sorry...I still got a few occasional bad dreams lately even if I know he's alive...", with a side look to see Milo giving Toki a piggyback ride after chasing him when their son decided to be mischievous, stealing cookies, smiling brightly as he tickled Toki's feet, causing him to shriek in giggles.

"I can't blame you. That's probably often a recurring nightmare for couples. The sad truth that many wives and sweethearts back home had those nightmares that sadly came true as of late with the war. A lot of good men, never to return, in eternal service of their country.", Franklin sighed.

Eleanor replied, "At least they would know that they wouldn't be alone, not really, for the Maker, the Great Kings and Queens of the Past, whoever's in charge of the heavens, many good men will always watch over their wives and such...And of course, in their hearts, they would never really leave.", with a nod and a reassuring smile as she reached over to pat Kida's hand.

Kida smiled, taking a deep breath, "I know...Thank you...Where was I? Oh, yes...If you still wish to do this, I could do the divorce ceremony sometime between today's wedding with Rebecca and Dazis, and the day two mornings later with Nerissa and Kala's wedding...", knowing that Rebecca must be both nervous and excited to get married this afternoon, while the reason for the wedding with Nerissa and Kala was that Nerissa had revealed to a stunned and happy Kala on Christmas Eve of her pregnancy, and now being four months along, she is showing.

"I don't know...", Franklin admitted. "I mean, I don't want this sort of thing to be ruining any sort of feelings or moods in between the weddings and such..."

Eleanor nodded, "Me either...It'd be best to do it after both weddings are done...And is it possible to make it small or not public?".

Kida smiled gently, "My father and mother knew which marriages needed to be broken, in public for royals, and in private for commoners...And occasionally, vice versa just in case if one of them asked for it...As you're essentially royals in a way, since being the President and First Lady is sort of a ruling order, if you get my point...I can do it privately and small...However, it's up to you as it's still today and the next two days to think about it before the day afterwards...Which I am not blind to, for it'd be your birthday, Franklin, ironically...".

"I'm aware.", Franklin sighed. "And don't know when another time like this could come around. For all we know, next time we could be able to get away, some more marriages or births would be happening.".

Eleanor nodded, "Indeed. It was a miracle that Truman and the staff hasn't been bothered that we have been having the last two vacations together last year in the last of November and December, and now since it's the new year, tensions would be higher for Franklin here on his presidential work.", with a frown.

Franklin grimaced, feeling tired and upset by thinking about it...Honestly, he felt like he could breathe easier here in Atlantis, and he doesn't know if he can keep this up to '48, even with the crystal..."She's right...It's like that saying, once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern. They will notice if we repeat this again too quickly... Perhaps the summer could be an excuse, but still...".

Kida nodded, "I can understand that. Nonetheless, I wouldn't have dared to push you if you only had one day to think about it, but three days to think about it is better.", with a soft, understanding smile.

"Thank you for giving us at least that much time.", Eleanor told her. "We can certainly discuss all this in some hours anyway, much less a couple of days. How long does the event take place? I have to assume it isn't very long since it's not as much of a ceremony like it is with a wedding.".

Kida replied, "You're certainly right about that, Eleanor. It's only 20 minutes, as the paperwork would take longer to 30 minutes, but with the fact that you can't reveal that to the surface world, which is ridiculous in my opinion, the records in Atlantis will still exist, while the people would have a vague idea of when it happened, but not how it happened or the change of your last names, since they would have been used to saying Elder Roosevelt or Lady Roosevelt in greetings as you have seen on your strolls and such through the city, of course.".

Franklin asked, "They know why we came to do this?", and Kida said, "I wouldn't reveal that if you don't want me to, but the people, well, with the Great Flood, divorce is barely heard of since then, and they would want to understand that well, free love and free will is less existent on the surface world if they would want to question why you two chose to do it. Oh, I wouldn't especially dare to reveal the whole mess, but I'd say to the people the reason behind it is that you two just didn't...what was that word I was looking for? Ah, yes, click very well in the intimate sense, even if you tried.".

"That's one way of putting it.", Eleanor said. "I'm almost jealous of you and your people at times where you seem to at least have things all squared away when it comes to love and passion.".

Franklin mentally was surprised to hear that as he realized he truly hasn't considered Eleanor's feelings...It's no damn wonder that Eleanor has been so amazing to be faithful while he wasn't...He caused her so much pain...and to think that she must have thought that her work, their children would have been enough distraction for her to hide her feelings.

Kida replied, "Well, with the small population, it's simple to build trust, friendship, and admiration first before love and passion, and then of course, with puberty or by prime adult age, they realize that they aren't alone.", with a smile.

"I couldn't argue on that fact.", Franklin smiled, "And thank you, Kida, for telling us the news. We will discuss when we got time between checking out the marketplace, giving some delightful rides to toddlers, and such before the wedding this afternoon, and the next two days.".

Kida chuckled, "Very good.", before turning her attention on her meal while keeping a hold on her nursing daughter, and the Roosevelts went back to their meals.

A couple of hours later, Franklin glanced at Eleanor who walked into the balcony that was off the hallway of their bedroom, carrying a tray of steaming tea, "Was looking for you, Frankie. Guard said that you were out here...Tea?".

Franklin smiled, "Of course...", before Eleanor handed him a cup, and he sipped it slowly, breathing deeply, as Eleanor sat down in her chair, smiling, doing the same, "It's quite a lovely day for a wedding. Rebecca and Dazis will be pleased...".

A chuckle, Franklin nodded, "Indeed...You know, I wouldn't be upset if there was a chance for you to be cherished and loved as Eleanor, not the First Lady or Mrs. Roosevelt or even a woman in activism...", as Eleanor looked at him in shock, "Franklin! You know that I'm 61, and you know even if some things were blacklisted, they would still notice the divorce, and I...I wouldn't even be considered, with the chance of being blamed, and besides, who would want a late-middle aged woman with 5 grown children, and growing grandchildren? Yes, I'm almost jealous of all of this here, but to be honest, I...I just...I don't know...I want to make a difference with my work while I can...and even if I found love again, I would feel strange, even if I know you couldn't be upset...the only guy I could love and cherish in a huge sense of family is Jr...Not that I deeply care for you, Frankie, and I do love you, but not intimately, and I do love our other children, but Jr. made me feel like I was needed...that night...If I would have turned time backwards, if I knew this place...we...I don't know, we might have worked out better, with Jr. getting much better help for his heart condition...", with a sigh.

"I know. He might be alive had we had all that Atlantis had to offer to save him... not that we couldn't have tried, just...", Franklin murmured. "Still too far behind in terms of care even with your family's money. Hell, Penicillin's still a new marvel!", Eleanor said.

Franklin nodded, agreeing with her, "Yes. I have to admit that it certainly helped a lot in the news and all...All the same, I would want you to be happy without feeling like a burden...this is a short, simple thing, I know, but it's like big in a way to us, even if only Atlantis knows the gentle truth compared to America that wouldn't know...Do you want to be a single woman again, at least here in Atlantis, Eleanor?", determined to be considerate and giving her the choice as he knew that even if after mashing most of everything of emotional issues between them through the past two vacations and this vacation, he hasn't exactly been told to be certainly 100% forgiven out loud by her which he couldn't blame her for...

She bit her lip as she went deep into thought about that. Honestly, it wouldn't be too different from what it was already considering she had been living in New York for a long time while he was in office.

And of course, it felt quite catatonic to let out emotions every night during their vacations while talking about many things that had wedged her relationship with Franklin, and her heart has been mending to a similar state her heart was before everything became a mess, and hearing Franklin apologize so many times during those long nights, she knew she wouldn't forget anytime soon, for she is starting to have the courage to find from her heart to forgive him.

And now she's stunned to hear Franklin's confession of wanting her to be happy, and like those nights, he listened to her, to give her a choice in this...She felt so happy to be best friends, silly cousins on the days with Franklin during the strolls and such around the city, and honestly, she long missed the feeling of being herself which has returned stronger and stronger with each vacation which she is sure that many people on the surface hadn't really expected in their surprise while she did her activism work and more.

She took a deep breath, and looked over to Franklin with a warm smile, "Yes, I do want to be a single woman again, at least in Atlantis...", and Franklin gave her a kind smile, "Okay then. We will let Kida tomorrow, since we wouldn't want to ruin this day, especially for the lucky couple on dear Rebecca's birthday.".

"Actually, can we let her know in the morning on your birthday as she offered to do it then, anyway? I...I was hoping that we would just dawdle around, relax, and bask in whatever the Atlanteans are doing between the two weddings and such, that is, if that is not too much trouble or rush?", Eleanor asked softly.

"I won't have any arguments with that. If anything, I'm curious to know what an Atlantean wedding would be like.", Franklin said. "Not like you're a stranger to weddings.", Eleanor chuckled. "How many political and social friends' weddings have you attended?".

Franklin chuckled, "Touche.", with a smile as he sipped at his tea, and Eleanor smiled, and so, they relaxed for a while, taking a small meal of lunch as they were told that the wedding feast would be more than enough, and after taking up some nice clothes, not too nice, but casual enough not to show up the bride and groom, they headed to find some good seats and all in the large clearing that is just beyond the planetarium.

In one of the retrofitted rooms that has recovered cabinets of Atlantean disks that has so many views of deep space and all, Rebecca fussed around her Atlantean dress, glancing in the mirror, "Okay, okay, breathe, Rebecca, this is Dazis we're talking about...He's going to be awestruck when he sees me...Right, Helena?', glancing at her daughter who is watching her mommy twirl around as she gave a toothy smile, "Mommy pretty!".

Rebecca smiled warmly, "Thank you, darling...I'm just so nervous as this is the first time he will see my tattoos!", as she knows that she's already part of Dazis' world, and having tattoos is an indictment that she will never leave him for she loves him so much after he gave her more than she ever dreamed of, which is why her tattoo on her bare arm shows a unique starburst of a constellation, to show her love of the stars and the planetarium and her pet name for Dazis, and her other tattoo on her shoulder above her heart shows a Atlantean symbol that meant family.

She knew that Dazis had added two new tattoos, but she didn't know what they are, for she will see them on him for the first time as well. Helena giggled, "Daddy luv mommy!", and Rebecca chuckled, "Yeah, you're right, Helena...I'm just being silly, aren't I?".

Helena smiled, "Silly mommy!", before her eyes widened in fright, nearly sprinting to her mommy's dress, hiding, "Mommy, strangers!", as she had been taught vigorously to not talk to strangers outside the area of the Irish Whitmore cottage if she wanders off, considering that her father is a guard, and her mother is the sister of a soldier, and of course, her looks are quite unusual as well.
