Chapter Nine

Miroku

Miroku's P.O.V

Kirara smelled something in the air and turned around to go inspect what it was. We weren't too far from Sango's fathers cabin. I was afraid this little detour would cause us to lose time in finding Sango first before Kuranosuke. To my surprise we ended up finding her and Kohaku. They had been in an accident from a fallen tree in the middle of the path. Kohaku was okay with a few scratches. Sango was bleeding from her forehead.

"Sango? Can you hear me?!" I shouted.

She moved slightly and a moan came out of her mouth. She could barely move. My heart sank with heaviness. I couldn't lose her, not now.

"Miroku… my head." Sango said as she touched her forehead. She panicked when she saw her blood.

I let Sango know that everything was going to be okay. Kuranosuke was nowhere to be found and I had this feeling in my stomach that it wasn't a good sign. He had to be somewhere lurking in these woods. I had this feeling that he was close by watching. Kirara had begun to growl.

"What's wrong Kirara?" I heard Inuyasha ask.

Inuyasha got into his fighting position waiting to take on whatever… whoever it was that was lurking in the shadows. It ended up being a deer. We let our guard down once we watch it run away. Kagome was tending to Sango's injuries.

"Try not to move Sango. Your body is in shock and in no shape to move." I could hear Kagome scolding her.

Kohaku was tending to his own cuts that were on his arms and legs. He was indeed happy to see us and not Kuranosuke. "Where do you think he could be?" Kohaku had asked.

"I'm not sure. But it is best that we try to get you out of here before he happens to show up out of nowhere." I replied.

Once Kagome got Sango cleaned up. We took off on Kirara. I stared at Sango as she slept. I never realized how much I loved this woman, how much I wanted her to bear my children. Seeing her in this much pain was too much for me. I didn't want to leave her side. I didn't want her to leave my side. I should have never left in the first place.

Out of the blue something shot at us and down we went with Kirara. I held onto Sango tightly as we fell.

End Miroku's P.O.V

A/N: Hope you liked. Just one more chapter to go. Will it end in a happy ending or a tragedy?
