Saving Michiru
100 years after helping Kiyo and recruiting Hone Onna it was now Michiru Sagae's time. Reina remembered what happened in Michiru's past and felt sorry for her as much as she felt sorry for Ai and Yuzuki. Reina had brought her companions to Michiru's town. "This is a nice old town" said Wanyuudou. Ren noticed something happening in someone's house because a lot of people were standing outside. "What are they doing over there?" he asked. "A man named Mr Sagae, who lives here, is starting to put in electric lights into this town; this town hasn't started using electricity yet" said Reina. "So not all towns are up to date yet huh?" said Hone Onna. The group watched Mr Sagae getting praised by the townspeople and they saw his wife and daughter all smiling. "They seem a very nice family" said Wanyuudou. "That man sure is popular because he brought electricity to this town" said Ren. "Yes but that popularity is what's going to get his family into danger if we don't do something now" said Reina.
Reina transported to the landlord's house with her companions. Right not the landlord and his family were complaining due to their jealousy of Mr Sagae. "I take it that's the landlord of this village?" asked Hone Onna. "Yes and right now he is showing his jealousy" said Reina. She explained the landlord hates the fact Mr Sagae is popular then him with the townspeople. "These landlords always wish to be the most respected people in all the lands, but now Mr Sagae is gaining all the respect" said Reina. "What are we going to do Reina-san?" asked Ren. "You'll see tomorrow" said Reina.
The next day Reina and her companions saw the landlord's son Eisaku and his two friends Ippei and Kousuke bullying Michiru and dragging her off somewhere. "Come on you three, Michiru is in terrible danger" said Reina. She didn't have time to explain to her companions what was going to happen now, so they quickly followed the kids. Right now they came to the lake and Eisaku and Ippei and Kousuke started to try and push Michiru into the lake. This was the time for Reina to start taking action.
"Stop right there!" shouted Reina. The kids saw Reina and her companions and the boys panicked. "Grab those boys!" Reina shouted to Ren, Hone Onna and Wanyuudou. The boys tried to run away but Wanyuudou, Ren and Hone Onna were quicker than them. Wanyuudou grabbed Eisaku and Ren and Hone Onna grabbed Ippei and Kousuke. Reina went over to Michiru to comfort her. "Are you okay?" Reina asked her. "Yes but they were" said Michiru. "I know I saw everything Michiru-chan," said Reina "everything is okay now". Reina walked over to the boys. "Is this the way for a son of a landlord to behave?" Reina said to Eisaku. Eisaku just huffed, showing no remorse for what he was going to do. "It's that girl's father's fault!" shouted Eisaku. "It was his fault for trying to be a man greater than my father!" "So you tried to drown the poor girl all because of you and your parents being jealous of Mr Sagae?" asked Wanyuudou. Eiasku huffed again, meaning that was the reason he was about to drown Michiru. Reina knew trying to deal with Eisaku and his parents wasn't going to be easy, but she already had an idea of what to do. She stared hard at the three boy's eyes; she had the power to hypnotise with her eyes. (Kind of like the power in the demon headmaster) "Now you three boys, especially you Eisaku, are going to tell your parents what you did and what you tried to do to Michiru," said Reina, hypnotising them, "and you are going to explain why you did it. Do you understand?" "Yes we understand" said the boys, having no idea they were being hypnotised. After finishing hypnotising the boys, Wanyuudou, Ren and Hone Onna started leading the boys back to the village, while Reina held onto Michiru and continued comforting her.
Back in the village Mr Sage and his wife were talking to some townspeople, but then everyone noticed Reina and her companions holding onto Michiru and the three boys. Mr Sagae went up to Reina and asked her what was going on and Reina told him she will explain what was happening when they get to the landlord's home. Mr and Mrs Sagae and the two boy's parents followed the group to the landlord's house.
Once the group got to the landlord's house the landlord and his wife were told by a servant what was going on. The landlord was not happy to see his son being grabbed onto by somebody. "What's the meaning of this!" he demanded. "Do excuse me Mr Landlord," said Reina, calmly, "but we caught your son Eisaku and his two friends Ippei and Kousuke bullying Michiru Sagae and trying to drown her in the lake". Mr and Mrs Sage were shocked by that and Mrs Sage hugged her daughter at once. "Preposterous!" shouted the landlord's wife "my son would never do such a thing!" "Oh really," said Reina "why don't you ask your son and see if I am lying or not". Wanyuudou let go of Eisaku and the landlord's wife grabbed him to talk to him. "Eisaku you didn't really try to drown the young girl did you?" said the wife. She believed that her son would say he didn't because she didn't believe Eisaku would do nasty things like that, but she was wrong. "Actually mother I did" said Eisaku. Thanks to Reina's hypnotism Eisaku admitted his bullying to Michiru and his plan to drown Michiru all because of he and his family's jealousy of Mr Sagae from being popular with the villagers. The landlord and his wife were shocked by this and so was everyone else. "I suggest Mr Landlord that you teach your son better manners;" said Reina "otherwise he may end up growing up to be a ruthless tyrant, who likes hurting or killing people to his pleasure or because of his emotions such as hate and jealousy". Ren and Hone Onna turned to Ippei and Kousuke's parents. "We suggest you do the same to your boys before they grow up to become tyrants too". Ippei and Kousuke's parents grabbed their boys at once to get them home; they were not happy with what their boys nearly did to Michiru. They apologized to Mr and Mrs Sagae and promised to punish their boys at once. As for the landlord; he ordered his wife to take Eisaku into the house and keep him looked in his room till he says he could come out. Then he reluctantly apologized to the Sagae family and then went into the house, feeling very humiliated.
Mr Sagae walked over to Reina and her assistants. "Thank you for saving my daughter Michiru" he said. "You're welcome sir," said Reina "but I suggest you be careful and aware of the landlord and his family". "Reina-san's right," said Wanyuudou "I have met and seen many landlords in my time. Your landlord is clearly a selfish, greedy and prideful man who hates it when someone is considered greater than him". "But I have no intention of becoming a man greater than the landlord;" said Mr Sagae "I am only helping my town on bringing lights here and making the townspeople happy". "That doesn't matter to him I'm afraid;" said Reina "because you have become popular with the villagers because of your helpfulness, that's what sparked the landlord's jealousy". "It's true Mr Sagae;" said Hone Onna "landlords like yours always wish to be the number 1 person, and get nasty when they don't". Mr Sagae didn't like this, neither did his wife. "His son is no better because he clearly takes after his parents" said Ren. Reina turned to Michiru and told her to stay away from Eisaku and his friends just in case they bully her or try to do something nasty to her again.
"I am still a bit shocked of how those boys were trying to drown that girl, all because the landlord and his family are jealous of that girl's father" said Hone Onna. "I hope you don't mind me asking Reina-san," said Wanyuudou "but what would have happened if we didn't save Michiru-chan?" "I tell you what would have happened" said Reina. She told her companions about how Eisaku and Ippei and Kousuke get themselves drowned in the lake and Michiru gets blamed for their deaths. "The townspeople won't believe her because of the landlord and landlady because they don't believe Eisaku would never do such a thing" said Reina. "Hah well we sure proved them wrong by making the boys confess everything" smirked Ren. Reina continues the story with the Sagae family being ostracized because of what happens to the boys, then the landlady and landlord get these horrible ideas of killing Michiru to make her parents suffer, and then they kill the whole family, so the police will not find out what they had done, with the villagers helping in. "Oh I see," said Ren "so the landlord and landlady are the evil type of people who would easily influence the whole town to do something terrible to those who are innocent". He knew because he met a lot of people like that back when he was a sword. "Then it's a good thing we saved Michiru-chan then" said Hone Onna. "We have saved Michiru and her family now," said Reina "but there is no telling if the landlord will do something terrible or not because of what happened. So we need to be careful and keep an eye on that family". The companions agreed with that.
Eisaku and Ippei and Kousuke were in big trouble with their parents because of what they tried to do to Michiru. Ippei and Kousuke got walloped by their parents and told off a lot and were forbidden to leave their houses for a week. As for Eisaku he got it worst. Because of the humiliation, his father slapped his face really hard and was kept locked up in his room for a whole week. His wife tried to calm her husband down, but he wouldn't have it. Sure he was jealous of Mr Sage, but even he didn't think of killing his family out of jealousy. He wasn't that mad, yet.
The next day Reina went to see the Sage family to check if Michiru was okay now. She was still a bit shaken from yesterday, but still good. Just then the parents of Ippei and Kousuke came to talk to Mr and Mrs Sagae. "We are so sorry about our son's behaviour" said Ippei's Father. "We couldn't believe our boys tried to hurt your daughter," said Kousuke's mother "we really are sorry about that". Reina spoke up. "The reason why that happened was because of the bad influence of the landlord's son," she said "spoiled, selfish brats like him always look down on those with lower status and bully them. Therefore I wouldn't be surprised if the landlord's son and your sons have been bullying other children in this town, without your knowledge, as well. That's why you better teach Ippei and Kousuke better manners or they will end up just like Eisaku". The parents flinched from Reina's words and agreed to discipline their boys more and then they left.
Later that day Reina spoke to her companions; she had asked them to keep an eye on the landlord and his family. "What did you find out?" asked Reina. "The landlord feels humiliated with what his son had done" said Ren. "His wife wasn't happy either and feels very embarrassed too" said Hone Onna. "Eisaku feels no remorse for what he did and feels angry for being found out" said Wanyuudou. "That family are clearly not very good people" said Wanyuudou. "That's why my plan to bring down that family is we tell the townspeople of the landlord's family's evil nature," said Reina "I hate to say it, but with these type of people we have to play dirty ourselves". Ren, Hone Onna and Wanyuudou were surprised, but they understood the situation. (It doesn't matter to Ren and Wanyuudou because they had played dirty themselves back when they were still items, and Hone Onna had worked as a prostitute, so all three now what it's like) "Before we start tattling," said Reina "we first need to give those boys some nightmares of hell".
Reina's plan was to give Eisaku, Ippei and Kousuke nightmares of being put through trials in hell because of their bullying ways, and getting bullied by demons. (I got this idea from disney's cartoon Pluto's trial) Eisaku, Ippei and Kousuke were not going to get a good night's sleep tonight.
The next day Ippei and Kousuke's parents were talking to Mr and Mrs Sagae and Reina again. Some of the other townspeople were listening too. "Last night my son Ippei was having nightmares and he shouted in admitting he had been bullying other children in this town along with the landlord's son" said Ippei's father. "My son Kousuke did the same" said Kousuke's mother. They were feeling more ashamed of their sons' actions because they never knew they did that. "So it seems my thoughts were right," said Reina "the reason why you wouldn't have known about the boys' actions is because bullies always act innocent in front of other people, and they threaten their victims not to say anything about the bulling. I know because I met with loads of bullies before". This made the parents feel more uncomfortable then they already were. "Then I suggest we keep our children away from the landlord's son from now on," said a town person "that brat is clearly a bad influence for our children". The townspeople agreed especially Ippei's father and Kousuke's mother.
Ippei and Kousuke were in more trouble than they already were because of their confessions. Because they admitted to their bullying ways towards other children in the town, their parents made them apologize to everyone they bullied. Ippei and Kousuke felt very humiliated but did as they were told because they didn't want to get in anymore trouble they already were. When they got to Michiru, the boys were forced down onto the ground by their parents, while they apologized to her. Mr Sagae didn't press any charges because he was a good man, but he did warn the parents to make sure the boys never bulled Michiru nor try to kill her or anyone else again, and the parents promised to while the boys just stayed silent. Because of all this the boys were forbidden to hang out with Eisaku and continue being his friend.
As for Eisaku, his parents heard all of his confessions about bullying other children in the town. Of course the landlord and his wife didn't make a fuss of it at first; being selfish and mean themselves, and they were the type of stupid parents who believed their son does no wrong no matter what. But then when they got word that everyone in town heard about the bullying, thanks to Ippei and Kousuke, they felt more embarrassed than ever. Eisaku felt it worst; he didn't want anyone to know about what he had done and had threatened Ippei and Kousuke not to tell anyone. Because of this he wasn't going to have friends in the village anymore.
Later that day Mr and Mrs Sage were talking to Reina and some of the townspeople about how they couldn't stop thinking about Eisaku's bad behaviour. "I still don't understand why the landlord's son tried to hurt Michiru like that, I mean Michiru didn't do anything wrong" said Mr Sagae. "It was as I told you before Mr Sagae," said Reina "because the landlord and his family had been jealous of you becoming more popular and successful than him. And it's that jealousy that made Eisaku mad enough to try and drown Michiru to get even with you. Let me warn all of you now; the landlord, his wife and son are the type of people who would do nasty things to those who upset or anger them, including hurting them. I am not making this up". After what Eisaku, Ippei and Kousuke did, the townspeople started to believe Reina's words. "So my warning advice to all of you is be aware of the landlord and his wife; their bad nature could rub off onto any of you. I've seen this before; people turning from good to bad because of an evil leader".
Ren, Hone Onna and Wanyuudou started telling the other townspeople about what the landlord and his family were like too. This was not going to look good on the family. Reina also decided to have all the townspeople, except the Sagae family, have nightmares about them doing bad things to innocent people due to the landlord's family bad influence tonight. It was going to make the townspeople see her point about her warning. (As it was the landlord and landlady's influence that got the Sagae family killed in the anime, I thought it would be best to scare the townspeople of showing them what the landlord and landlady would make them do) So the townspeople weren't going to have a good night's sleep this time.
The next morning all the townspeople couldn't stop talking about their nightmares Reina gave them. "I couldn't believe I was killing an innocent family because of the landlord's order in my dream light night" said one of them. "I couldn't believe I murdered a man with a metal pipe" said another. "I couldn't believe I burned a woman and her child to death" said another. "I dreamt I locked a poor child in a shed and kept her there till she starved to death, due to the landlady's order" said another. "It seems that woman Reina was right;" said another town person "we do need to be aware of the landlord's family". "I agree; they are bad influences to us" said another town person. The landlord family's reputation was going to go downhill because of this.
After that things started to get worse for the landlord's family. Because Reina and her companions told the whole townspeople the true, evil nature of the landlord's family, it wasn't long till the townspeople started to think and act coldly towards the landlord family. Especially after all the nightmares Reina gave them. So instead of the Sagae family being ostracized by the townspeople, it was the landlord family instead this time. There was worse to come; the police heard about the rumours going around and they had a talk with the landlord. As the landlord or his family members hadn't done anything wrong, they were not exactly in trouble. But having the police over at their house made the landlord family feel more humiliated than they already were. Not to mention the townspeople wouldn't stop talking about it.
When Ippei and Kousuke heard about it, they both decided to behave and not bully anyone anymore from now on. After receiving a lot of punishments from their parents, having those nightmares of hell, having to apologize in public, and hearing about the police visiting the landlord, the two boys learnt their lesson big time. Not to mention they didn't want their nightmares of hell to become a reality.
Because of what's been happening, the landlord decided to send his wife and son to go live with some relatives of his that lived far away. Truth be told the landlady had asked her husband to let her and Eisaku move away because she felt sick having to stay in a town where she was being ostracized by the townspeople, and Eisaku was lonely because of having no friends. The landlord agreed and it wasn't long till the landlady and Eisaku left the town. But no doubt, after all that disgrace, it wasn't going to be easy for everything to settle down for the landlord family.
"We sure messed up that family good" said Ren. Reina and her companions were watching the landlady and Eisaku leave. "As much as I hated having to play dirty, it was the only way to bring that wicked family down," said Reina "I'm sorry all of you but there may be times in the future when we will have to play dirty to bring a villain down". "We understand Reina-san" said Wanyuudou. Wanyuudou, Hone Onna and Ren knew Reina wouldn't go too far and would never kill anyone to achieve her goal of taking down bad people. "So are we finished here now Reina-san?" asked Ren. "I just want to check on the Sagae family one more time before we leave" said Reina.
When Reina and her companions went to visit the Sagae family, they saw Mr and Sagae packing things in boxes. Mr Sagae explained he and his family were moving away to another town. "To tell you the truth my wife and I had been feeling anxious about the landlord and his family ever since you told us about their unkind nature," said Mr Sagae "and even though the landlady and son are gone we still thought it will be better for us to leave". "I call that a good idea," said Reina "with how things have turned out with landlord family, well things might get ugly later on in the future. And who knows, that Eisaku brat might do something again to Michiru in the future if he ever comes back. So I think it's best you do leave for your own safety, especially Michiru's". The Sagae family agreed. It wasn't long till the Sagae family moved away and the townspeople said goodbye to them. The townspeople were disappointed the Sagae family were moving away, but they understood in the end. The Landlord got word of the Sagae family leaving, but he just brushed it away because he had other problems to take care of first. The quest of saving Michiru was now over.
So in the end no one had died and this time the Sagae family was safe and Michiru could live her whole life this time. Reina was happy she saved Michiru, and this time Michiru was going to live a full life and not end up as a wondering spirit like in the anime.
I hope you all like how I've saved Michiru. I decided to rewrite because I thought what I did before wasn't enough and I wanted to have the landlord family suffer more humiliation. I'll do a special chapter about Michiru and Ai later about how their lives went after they were saved.
