Imperfect Reincarnation
Chapter Four
Sailor Moon looked up as a silver armored guard knocked on the open door to her sitting room.
"Forgive the interruption Sailor Moon, but his highness Prince Endymion is here to see you. He is waiting for you at the front entrance to the palace." The guard informed her.
"Thank you." Sailor Moon said with a grateful smile before she got up from the couch she was sitting on.
She closed the book she had been reading as she stepped toward her desk and placed it on the flat surface before she walked across the room toward the doorway. She closed the door as she stepped out into the hallway and began to walk along the quiet hall. She calmly walked through the palace and down to the main level and toward the front doors.
"Thank you." She told the guard as he opened one of the doors before she stepped through and saw the heir to the throne of the Earth standing at the bottom of the stairs.
She walked down to him and before she could say anything he bowed and grasped her gloved hand and kissed the back of her hand.
"Good day." Endymion said as he stood up straight.
"Good day." Sailor Moon said with a blush on her cheeks.
"I hope I am not interrupting anything." He said.
"No." She replied as she shook her head. "I was only reading."
"In that case, would you accompany me to the Earth?" Endymion asked. "I want to show you my garden."
"The royal garden?" She said.
"It is part of the royal garden, but it is my section. I grew it and maintain it." He said.
Sailor Moon nodded and he placed the hand he still held on his arm and held it there firmly as he focused. The next thing she knew there was a soft flash of gold and they were standing in the sunlight in front of the Earth's royal palace.
She blinked in the light and began to follow him as he silently guided her around the side of the palace and toward what was clearly a very large garden. He bypassed the entrance to that garden and she looked up to him before she looked back to the path and enjoyed the view and warmth of the sun.
They reached the back of the palace after a few minutes and that was when he led her into a subtle opening in a tall hedge wall.
Sailor Moon gasped. She had been impressed with the knowledge that he had his own garden that he actually tended to, and was now even more so when they arrived in said garden. It was a rose garden that smelled divine. She had never smelled something so fragrant and relaxing.
She could immediately see that there were different colors but red was the dominant color, and as they walked she realized when he said his section he actually meant a whole separate garden that was attached to the other royal garden. Each section of his garden had a different color of roses, but red was always the center of attention.
"Your garden is absolutely beautiful." She said as they walked. "You must enjoy it every chance you get. I know I would if I lived here."
"I do indeed." Endymion confirmed. "It is very peaceful and good for quiet meditation."
"I am sure it is." She replied softly as she looked around.
"Tell me my lady, what were you reading when my request interrupted you?" He asked curiously.
Sailor Moon smiled and began to describe what she had read so far on the book of architecture of Venus.
oOo
"Endymion!" She cried out and hurried toward him, quickly dropping to her knees at his side as she placed a hand on his shoulder and grabbed his hand with the other.
"Why?! Why did you do this?" She asked, angry and sad. "It is my duty to protect my princess!"
"No. It is not your duty and never has been." Endymion said weakly. "You were never supposed to be Sailor Moon. Your destiny was taken from you."
"I do not understand." Sailor Moon said in confusion.
This man had just saved her life, taking a clearly mortal wound for her, and it was clear from his words that he did it for her and not her princess. She had already admitted to herself that she loved him, but seeing him so hurt and knowing he was dying shattered something deep inside her.
They heard a scream and she looked up to see her princess being attacked by an earth soldier. She moved to get up but looked back to Endymion as she felt him squeeze her hand.
Sailor Moon looked frantically between Endymion and her barely struggling princess. She knew she needed to protect her, but her body was already settling back at his side and it made her abruptly aware that his life was more important to her then her princess' was.
"I do not want you to die. You cannot die. I love you too much for you to leave me." She said sadly as she gently ran her fingers through his hair.
"I love you as well my Serenity. I will find you again, and you will remember what we had." He said quietly.
Serena's eyes popped open when the sound of her alarm disturbed her sleep, and she groaned quietly before she reached over and turned it off. She flopped back on her back and relaxed as her eyes blinked to help wake herself further and her mind drifted back to her dream.
She found that she recalled more details of the memory dream then she had before. Such as remembering that the guy was called Prince Endymion, and was apparently heir to the throne of the Earth. He was tall since she remembered having to look up at him and he had short dark hair.
Unfortunately that was all she could remember about him, but she thought back to the other dream she had and briefly wondered if Endy was short for Endymion.
It's possible. She admitted. But it's so confusing! Both Sailor Earth and Sailor Moon look like me. It can't be the same guy. And Sailor Moon is a soldier, a guardian to the Moon Princess, so why would the prince of a planet be showing her any attention? He should've been dating a princess or some court lady that would've grown up in that type of life and could live it with him.
But then Endy seemed pretty interested in Sailor Earth and she was presumably a soldier just like Sailor Moon, so if they are the same guy then perhaps he was into the strong female type and not a delicate princess. She considered.
But that still doesn't explain how, if he's the same guy, both girls look like me. Serena thought with a slight frown.
She couldn't have been both scouts at the same time, so they had to be two separate lives. But how could he be in both of her past lives?
She considered telling Luna about the memory dreams, but she wasn't sure she wanted to. After all, what would she think about the possibility of her having two sets of past memories.
I'll just ask in a way that won't risk revealing my memories. She decided as she looked over to Luna who was stretched out on the side of her bed.
"I've been thinking about the past you mentioned, including the princess, and I wonder if there was a prince in the picture?" Serena asked as she watched the black feline sit up slightly.
"No." Luna answered thoughtfully. "I don't remember a moon prince. Actually I believe the princess was an only child, and I don't recall if she was close to a prince of one of the other planets."
Serena nodded. That doesn't explain anything about the man I'm dreaming about or rather remembering, but it also could mean Luna doesn't remember whereas I do. She thought before deciding to try a different question.
"You mentioned there were five guardian scouts, all from planets incidentally closest to and including the Moon. Was there no scout of the Earth?" She asked curiously.
"No." Luna answered as she shook her head. "I've never heard of a Sailor Earth. There's no such scout."
Serena hummed and nodded, but frowned internally. She didn't understand that. She was dreaming about a scout called Sailor Earth, that looked exactly like her, but Luna said there was no such scout.
She could easily say that Luna just didn't remember yet, but she had no problem remembering the other five scouts. She didn't know what to think; of that or of her dreams.
My memories. She reminded herself, because there was no way she could have made up any of the dreams she had so far.
She didn't think she had a good enough imagination to think up a whole new identity like Sailor Earth. Nor could she have made up such a realistic scene of being invited by the prince of a planet on what was basically a nice little date.
Although this time it was Sailor Moon that was present instead of Sailor Earth. Her outfit had been the same as the scout uniform she wore now; right down to the last detail, and her hair was styled in the same twin bun style she was used to.
And there is definitely no imagining the sadness I've been trying to ignore since I woke up. She told herself.
There was the same intense sadness that she had experienced from the first memory dream filling her being and she still couldn't explain it. Although at least now she knew she wasn't imagining it.
Serena sighed heavily and shook her head as she pushed her covers back and got up to start getting ready for school. As she gathered her uniform she remembered back on her date with Darien to distract herself from her dream and the answers she had gotten from Luna.
She'd had such a good time. She had grown a bit more comfortable with him, and gotten to know him better. Her feelings for him had definitely gone up a notch at his understanding attitude when she'd had to run out in the middle of their date without an explanation.
She remembered being so worried on her way home from the fight that his understanding would have faded as time passed, and he might have become angry with her for ditching him and not want anything to do with her.
So understandably she had been a nervous wreck when she called him.
oOo
"Hello?" Serena heard Darien's familiar voice answer.
"Hi; it's Serena." She said.
"Oh. Did you make it home okay?" He asked in concern.
"I did." She answered easily. "I just, I wanted say sorry again for leaving like I did."
"It's okay. As long as it wasn't my fault." He said.
"Oh no! No! You had nothing to do with it." She assured him. "I was having a good time with you, and was very disappointed to have to leave."
"In that case do not worry about it." He said, this time his tone reassuring. "How about we take this time to plan our next date? Do you have any ideas? Anything you would like to do?"
oOo
Serena could hardly believe how relieved she was that he really didn't mind her running out on their date, and that he really did want to go out on another one.
Already she couldn't wait for it. They had planned a simple outing to a movie after she got out of school that very day, and then to grab something to eat at the closest restaurant afterward.
As she showered she thought of how they were going to meet up at the arcade and then head to the theater. She would be in her school uniform, but he didn't seem to mind that. She wondered what they would talk about. They would likely describe their day so far, but after that what could they talk about before the movie.
She sighed and hoped it would be enough to last before the movie, and after the movie they could discuss what they saw. That should keep them going for a little while.
Serena turned off the water and quickly dried off before she began to get dressed. Once she was fully dressed in her uniform she let her two streams of hair down from where she had them pinned so they wouldn't get wet and left the bathroom with her pajamas.
As soon as she had all her things together she would grab herself a quick bite to eat and head out and off to school.

Four young men knelt lined up on the glossy black marble tile floor in the center of a large cavernous like room with floor to ceiling pillars around the room.
On the end to the left of the line was a young man with thick wavy maroon hair that reached down to the middle of his back. He had dark blue eyes and wore a light gray uniform with gold trim, a black belt, and tall black boots.
At the other end of the line the young man had straight white hair pass his shoulders yet not reaching his mid back, and blue eyes. He too wore a light gray uniform with a black belt, and black boots. However, unlike the first man his uniform was trimmed with dark gray and his boots were covered by his pants. Attached to his shoulders was a white cape with a gray inner lining, white gloves covered his hands, and in his ears were narrow diamond shaped earrings.
Next to this man was a young man with very pale very short blond hair that was closely cropped and parted off to the right side of his head. He had gray eyes and also wore a light gray uniform with a black belt around his waist though his uniform had red accent lining, and knee high black boots.
The last young man had long blond hair he wore in a low ponytail and green eyes. Like the other three men he wore the light gray uniform with green trimming, with the black belt, and tall black boots.
A few dozen feet in front of them were two evenly spaced stands with green fire tinged with black flickering at the top. Between those two stands was a set of slightly steep gray stairs leading up to a tall slender black throne, and on that throne sat a striking woman of slender build; noticeable even in her seated position.
Piercing red eyes gazed down at the young men lined up before her, and she had wavy red hair so long that she was sitting on it as it spilled over the chair and just touched the throne floor. She wore a floor length strapless sleeveless form fitting purple dress with a split down the front showing her lower legs, and red high heels.
A thick black tiara that looked like an upside down boomerang graced her forehead. It had two white dots at the top and bottom of the v-juncture with a silver stone wrapped in gray attached. On her pointed ears hung large silver teardrop stone earrings wrapped in gray and a long matching necklace draped around her neck, wrapped around each wrist was a black bracelet with a small horn attached to it, and wrapped loosely around her waist was a silver stone belt.
On each shoulder a small horn poked out through her skin, deep red lipstick painted her lips, and her pointed nails shined with red nail polish.
The woman stood up silently, showing how tall she was, and slowly began to step down the stairs to the floor of the cavernous room.
"It has been weeks since operations began in Tokyo, and you have yet to bring back any energy." The woman said quietly, her tone slightly menacing as she looked at the young men before her; red eyes stopping on one.
"Jedite!" She said, and the young man with short pale blond hair tensed and looked up. "You sent out the last minion yet returned with no energy. What happened with it?" She demanded to know.
"My Queen. The trouble preventing us from gathering energy is a single female fighter. " Jedite began. "Well, her and a guy that shows up out of nowhere to help her."
"The female is dressed as a sailor and goes by the name Sailor Moon. The guy helping her dresses in a tuxedo, cape, and mask, but his name is unknown. The monster I sent out was thwarted by them." He explained as he recalled out loud what happened.
oOo
Jedite stood in a medium sized room with a waist high podium made of black rock in the center. Above it, floating a few feet in the air, was a swirling ball of white energy. He placed a palm beneath the ball and gently lifted it so its warm light rested in his hand.
He smirked slightly as he watched the ball of energy steadily grow larger. Iguara was doing well. Who would have thought the energy of children would be so vibrant and easy to gather. If this kept up they would no longer have trouble collecting energy.
Suddenly he frowned as the steady flow of energy began to slow before it stopped altogether. That wasn't right. The energy had been coming just fine and now it wasn't. What was going on?
He moved his hand away and watched as the energy ball lowered and returned to its position floating above the podium. Then he walked from the room and down the hall to yet another room that had no door. Inside, against the far wall, was a small rectangular tub-like structure elaborately decorated and full of liquid that looked black.
Jedite placed his hand just on top of the liquid and focused his thoughts on his latest minion. The liquid swirled before it began to glow, and he stood straight as the glow lessened and allowed him to see his minion Iguara and what she was doing.
And instantly frowned angrily at the sight that met his eyes.
His minion was in the process of picking herself up from the debris on the ground that had clearly come from a blown out hole in the wall of a building. Stepping through the hole came Sailor Moon and the masked man that seemed to always show up and aid her since she made her first appearance.
He watched as his minion switched from her human disguise to her true appearance of a blue scaled humanoid iguana with a long tail, long red wild hair, and narrow lime green eyes.
The three started fighting almost as soon as her transformation was done. The masked man threw red roses and Sailor Moon seemed to be able to use her tiara as a weapon while Iguara used her long tail and claws.
His eyes flickered all over as they jumped around and dodged each other's attacks while staying at a distance, but he watched as Sailor Moon and the masked man gradually began to move closer to Iguara without seemingly saying a word to each other.
Jedite grimaced as he saw that their attacks were more effective with them being closer to her, and how Sailor Moon eventually found Iguara's weak spot with her tiara. She screamed, in a clear show of pain, as her body steadily began to turn an ashy white. Her screams stopped and her body crumbled into a small pile of dust before that disappeared as if she had never existed.
He sighed heavily in disappointment. He didn't have to go back to the room to know that the energy she had gathered was now gone.
oOo
"I'm unaware if the two fighters are acquainted with each other, but from what I saw they work well together." Jedite said.
"My Queen, perhaps we need to utilize a stronger monster with a different plan." The man with the long blond hair spoke up as he lifted his head. "Something more subtle until we can learn more about the fighters and deal with them once and for all."
"Hmm...at least you have a direction." The Queen said calmly as she looked to him. "Very well Zoycite. Since it is your idea you are to flesh it out and put it into action." She said as she stepped toward him.
"I expect you to produce results." She added coldly.
"Yes my Queen." Zoycite said before he stood up and stepped back away from the line of his fellow generals. "Flau! To me!" He called commandingly, summoning the minion he had in mind for the plan that was beginning to form in his mind.
Within moments in teleported a female with pinkish lavender tinted skin wearing a turquoise toga like dress. She stood at Zoycite's side and bowed to him and, after looking around, then the Queen.
"Very good." The Queen said with a slight nod as she looked at the minion; pleased that he already knew who he intended to use for his idea. "Go then and get started on your idea Zoycite. The rest of you had best pay attention to what he does and start producing results!" She commanded menacingly before she turned and began to step back toward the stairs leading to her throne.

As the days and weeks passed Serena and Darien continued to hangout after she got out of school, meeting up at the cafe and either staying there or going elsewhere to spend their time together, and had even been on a few dates on the weekends.
The two of them had gone to the movies, walking in various parks, to free musical concerts in parks, exploring bookstores, and going to smaller quieter cafes when they didn't want friends watching them at the Crown. It was all fun and entertaining, and of course it let them spend time together growing closer and more familiar with each other.
Currently Serena and Darien were hanging out at the Crown cafe as the day shifted into early evening when Serena began to sense dark energy again, this being the fourth time since the ability revealed itself. Unless she counted the little instances she had been experiencing recently.
Why does this always happen when I'm with Darien? She asked herself as she held in an irritated groan. Probably because I've been spending nearly all of my free time with him. She thought with a sigh.
"I should be getting home." She told Darien as she grabbed her school bag from the space on booth seat beside her.
"Alright. I'll call you later this evening okay?" He said as he watched her finish off her drink and nod to him.
"I look forward to it." Serena said as she stood up. She stepped over to his seated form and kissed his cheek shyly even though she had begun to make it a habit when she parted ways from him.
"Bye." She said softly as she straightened.
"Bye." He said with a smile.
She smiled in return before she began to walk away. It took her only moments to exit the cafe and begin to follow her senses.
Serena had been seeing her classmates and various adults wearing purple flower blossoms over the last few days. They were very pretty, but she could sense dark energy from them. The problem she had was that she wasn't sensing it outside the flowers, so she couldn't follow it to its source.
Now she was finally sensing it in a way that she could follow, and follow she did.
It actually started off heading in the direction she would take to get home, but thankfully it veered away in another direction. After walking down sidewalk after sidewalk she eventually found herself standing outside a large building that housed a radio station.
She took a deep breath and looked around for a subtle place to transform since she didn't particularly want to go into the building as herself and only transform after she found the source of the dark energy. That would be foolish, and she refused to be that.
She finally spotted a good enough place and hurried over to it. She looked around to make sure she couldn't be seen before she grasped her brooch from the bow on her chest.
"Moon Prism Power." Serena said firmly, and was instantly surrounded by bright pink light. When it finally cleared long moments later she looked down at herself to see she was clothed in the now familiar scout uniform, and her school bag was nowhere to be seen.
Sailor Moon looked up toward the building again, and began to jog around it to find a way in that wasn't through the front door.
oOo
Darien watched Serena leave and sighed. He wished their time hadn't been interrupted, because he knew that's exactly what it was. She didn't have to go home just yet. She was distracted and he had come to recognize what that meant.
It means that soon I'm going to be aiding my Serenity in a fight with a monster. He thought as he began to finish off his drink.
He gave her a few minutes to gain some distance from the cafe before he got up and followed her exit out of the cafe. He jogged to the closest park where he knew he would be able to find a subtle place to transform, and once he had found that spot he did just that.
With a mere thought his body was instantly surrounded in a bright gold light before it cleared leaving him standing in his now familiar black tuxedo, matching cape, white gloves, and matching mask.
Now that he was ready he raced through the park in the direction his soulmate had gone before he leapt into a tree and sprung off a branch onto a light pole. From there he jumped onto the nearest rooftop and continued onward until he felt the familiar ache in his head that signaled she had transformed.
He adjusted his path as well as his speed and began to follow the unknowing call she was sending him. Within minutes he found her standing among some trees looking up at the building on the property with a serious frown.
"Hello." He calmly greeted.
"Hey." Sailor Moon returned softly as she watched him walk toward her. "So there's a monster inside that building, but I can't think of a way to get in that won't alert the entire building and therefore the monster as well."
"I checked all the exit doors besides the main door, and found they all have security cameras over them. Even if I went in there untransformed I would still draw attention because I wouldn't look like I belonged there, and if by some miracle it did work I'd still risk being seen transforming." She explained.
"Ah. I wouldn't have any better luck if I went in without being transformed." Tuxedo Mask said understandably. "Perhaps we should wait a little while longer for more people to leave. I doubt the monster will be going anywhere."
"Yeah that's probably for the best." Sailor Moon agreed, and they subtly moved out of the area to avoid bringing attention to their presence.
Just as it began to grow dark out the two warriors moved in.
They had watched people steadily trickle out, and realized the work day must be over. They should only have to deal with the people working the night shift, and likely a security guard or two.
They went through the front door, prepared to be confronted with a security guard, but found there was no one there at the desk clearly meant for one.
The two breathed a sigh of relief and were thankful for the unexpected luck as they headed for the elevator instead of the stairway. They wanted to save energy and not be tired from running up flights of stairs.
Once inside the elevator they knew it was going to be a bit of a hit or miss as Sailor Moon tried to pin point where the dark energy was as they rose higher in the building. So they started by going up to one of the top floors.
As they reached the floor Sailor Moon shook her head and pressed the button for the next floor since she could sense the energy was further up. Twice more she did this until she quietly informed Tuxedo Mask that the monster was on the very top floor, and to be ready when the doors opened.
When the doors opened all was quiet and there was no one in sight, so they cautiously stepped onto the gray carpeted floor and looked around. There were three large hallways; one to their left and right and one directly in front of them, and somewhat off to the side of the hallway in front of them, at a slight angle, was a desk that was clearly for a receptionist.
They looked down each hallway before they looked at each other as they wondered which way to go.
Sailor Moon sighed and closed her eyes and hoped that the dark energy she was sensing could tell her which way they needed to go.
She tried to focus more on the disturbing feel of the energy, the sinister darkness, and took a step toward her left and continued before she opened her eyes and began to walk in that direction sensing that the dark energy was stronger in that direction.
Tuxedo Mask watched his Serenity closely, had been watching her closely since she closed her eyes and started walking off down the hallway.
What is she doing? He wondered curiously. Is she trying to use some sense to find the monster? Was that what she was doing in the elevator?
Then it occurred to him that his soulmate might be able to sense the darkness in the monster; the same ability to sense something that didn't belong on the planet like she had in the past.
That possibility made hope blossom in his chest. She may not remember who she truly was, but her true instincts might be coming through. He would keep a watch out for any other clues he could catch to see if he was right.
As they walked down the quiet carpeted hallway they saw that offices were dark and empty, but as they turned a corner they saw light coming from the windows and doorway of a room near the end of the hall.
They exchanged a glance before cautiously continuing forward, internally preparing themselves for an attack. As they reached the windows where the light was coming from they slowed as they saw that the windows were floor to ceiling.
Sailor Moon slowed to a stop and knelt at the side of the window and slowly peeked in. Above and behind her Tuxedo Mask peeked as well. They saw a woman with a green long sleeve top and short red hair walking away down a short hallway.
"She's the monster." Sailor Moon said quietly.
"Then let's go before she turns around and spots us." Tuxedo Mask said.
"Right." She said before she stood up, and followed him as he stepped around her and silently pulled open the glass door. They stepped inside and cautiously began to follow the disguised monster.
"Should we make it seem like there's only one of us?" Sailor Moon quietly asked as she looked away from the woman.
Tuxedo Mask nodded as he kept his eyes on the woman. "I'll draw her attention." He whispered as he looked away from the woman.
Sailor Moon nodded and silently stepped away and to the side out of view of the hallway and crouched down against the wall, making sure her hair was out of sight.
Tuxedo Mask looked away from his soulmate and pulled a red rose from thin air as he continued to step toward the hallway. He threw it at the disguised monster, aiming for its face, and had another one in his hand while the other was speeding through the air.
The monster turned as if it might have sensed his attack just as he tossed his second rose, and cried out as its face was cut by the flower passing by. Still, it had enough awareness despite the pain to dodge the next one.
Tuxedo Mask watched as the monster turned fully and got a good look at him. He threw another rose at it and watched the monsters eyes narrow before it dodged. Its eyes began to glow lightly as it opened its mouth, and he tensed slightly as he narrowed his eyes wondering what it was going to do.
Suddenly a blast of dark energy came bursting from its open mouth coming out pink despite its nature, and his eyes widened in surprise as he saw it widen the further out it went. He took a step back as he realized he wouldn't be able to dodge since there wasn't enough room in the hallway, and brought his arms up and braced himself for the impact.
Sailor Moon listened carefully after Tuxedo Mask stepped out of her view, and tilted her head slightly as she heard the monster's cry of pain. Then she frowned as she heard her companion's masculine voice grunt before her eyes widened at the sight of him flying into her view and pass before he smashed through the glass door they had come through.
She held in a gasp of shocked surprise, but even though she was concerned she forced herself to remain where she was. She could see from his movements that he was okay and not seriously hurt if he was hurt.
Then she blinked as the disguised monster stepped into her view and walked pass her toward Tuxedo Mask. She glanced to Tuxedo Mask before she returned her eyes to the monster and silently stood up.
She glanced back down the hallway to make sure there wasn't another unexpected monster before she stepped up behind the monster and kicked it hard in the back.
The monster flew forward with a surprised cry, and Tuxedo Mask stepped back out of the way before the monster slammed into the wall. As it bounced slightly back and onto the floor he kicked the monster hard down the hallway, and watched it roll and tumble slightly before it came to a stop on its stomach.
The monster groaned as it quickly tried to get to its feet. It looked up in time to see Sailor Moon step out and stand next to the masked man, and narrowed its eyes at them before standing straight as it turned and began to run.
Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask ran down the hallway after the monster, determined not to let it out of their sight so it could get away or surprise them. It turned a corner and they followed as it raced down the hallway before it burst through a door at the end that had an exit sign over it.
As they reached it Tuxedo Mask burst through first and Sailor Moon followed so closely that she could feel the end of his cape brushing against her legs as it fluttered out behind him.
They ran up a short flight of stairs to what they knew would be the roof before Tuxedo Mask burst through the door. His eyes were instantly on the monster that was running toward the medal railing that bordered the roof.
Sailor Moon pushed open the door in time to see the disguised monster stop and turn toward them since it had nowhere else to go. They were too high up to jump and there were no other rooftops close enough to leap to.
As Sailor Moon stepped up beside Tuxedo Mask they watched as the monster's eyes glowed brighter, easily visible in the surrounding night, then its body followed, glowing with a magenta light that covered it from view before it flashed brightly to reveal the monster.
It was changed; no longer was it disguised as a woman, although it still looked female in appearance. Its red hair had darkened slightly and grew longer and was styled so it was flowing upward.
It wore a sleeveless dark teal toga-like dress, cinched around the waist, and was barefoot. It had pale almost light purple skin, pointed elf-like ears, a black splotch mark on the middle of its forehead, eyes that were a bright red, and its lips were painted a purplish blue.
"Be careful." Tuxedo Mask quietly warned Sailor Moon as the three stared at each other. "The monster can shoot blasts of dark energy from its mouth, and it can widen after it's left its mouth."
"Okay." Sailor Moon said softly as she kept her eyes on the monster, understanding that that must have been why he hadn't avoided the blast earlier.
Suddenly the monster opened its mouth and they could see a glow coming from within, and they quickly parted, moving away from each other and to their side as a beam of dark energy came streaking toward them.
Tuxedo Mask quickly began to throw roses at the monster, and Sailor Moon took off her tiara and charged it up until it was a glowing white disk. She hoped it would work quickly and this monster wouldn't give them too much trouble. She wasn't interested in fighting this monster up close even if she was beginning to suspect all it had was the energy blast.
The monster dodged all the roses Tuxedo Mask threw at it appearing very agile on its bare feet, and Sailor Moon decided now was the time to act since the monster was somewhat distracted.
She threw her tiara hard and watched it sail through the air toward the monster, but at the last moment the monster turned and saw it and was able to lean out of the way to avoid the spinning disk.
Immediately the monster responded by shooting blasts of pink dark energy her way as well as toward Tuxedo Mask.
Sailor Moon jumped to the side away from the blast and frowned as she was prevented from grabbing her returning tiara. She looked up to try and see where her tiara was, but was distracted by yet another beam of dark energy coming her way.
She jumped back and off to her right, back toward where she had originally been standing, and saw that Tuxedo Mask was also dodging. She was irritated that this monster was shooting off blasts to try and keep them from attacking or at least getting in a good hit.
I'll just continue to dodge, and wait for an opportunity to grab my tiara. She decided since she knew it would follow her and be floating above her waiting for her to use it.
Tuxedo Mask ran and jumped around as he tossed his roses at the monster and dodged the energy blasts. It was distracting but not enough that he didn't see what was happening with his soulmate.
The monster was attacking her as well, and while she was perfectly able to dodge she was being prevented from using her only weapon.
He frowned as he tried to think up a solution as he continued to dodge. All he had to use were his roses, but so far that wasn't working. Maybe he needed to use more roses to distract it further and keep all its focus on him.
Yes, that is what I will do. He decided. After all, it would keep her safe in the process of allowing her some breathing room to get her hands on her tiara.
He pulled out a hand full of roses and threw them all at the monster, distracting it as it was in the middle of shooting another energy blast at him. The monster jumped up to avoid the roses and he threw another hand full of roses up at the monster while it was still in the air hoping it wouldn't be able to dodge.
Sailor Moon jumped back and looked around at the area as she listened to the monster cry out in pain as it was hit with the flowers.
She spotted the door they had come through and realized it was connected to its own little building. As she looked it over she realized it must house the buildings air conditioning and/or heating and likely the ventilation as well.
She looked back to the monster and Tuxedo Mask and saw that he was keeping the monster busy, so she subtly back away and out of sight before she jumped onto the little roof of the little building and crouched down.
Her eyes shifted upward and she saw her tiara hovering above her, and she finally grabbed it and shifted it until it floated above her fingertips. Then she carefully moved toward the edge and looked over to see the monster blasting at Tuxedo Mask and him dodging and throwing roses.
I should try and destroy it. She told herself as she watched. It's not paying attention to me, I have the high ground, and hopefully it doesn't even know where I am.
She wanted this fight done and over with, especially since she wanted to make sure Tuxedo Mask was truly okay after being blasted through the glass door.
With that concern firmly in her mind Sailor Moon carefully aimed as she steadied herself, and threw her tiara hard at the monster.
Tuxedo Mask pulled out yet another hand full of roses and was about to throw them when the monster was suddenly hit in the stomach with a glowing disk with such forced it bent forward at the waist and screamed as it was forced backward.
The scream continued but was cut off suddenly as the disk cut right through the monster tearing it in half. The two parts of the monster fell to the roof floor and gradually began to turn gray before they began to crumble to dust.
Tuxedo Mask looked over as Sailor Moon landed on the roof floor next to him with her tiara back on her forehead.
"Nice aim." He said.
"Thanks!" Sailor Moon said with a slight grin. "And thanks for keeping the monster distracted." She added.
"No problem." He replied.
"Are you okay?" She suddenly asked as she turned to face him fully. "The glass didn't hurt you?" She added in concern.
"I'm perfectly fine." Tuxedo Mask assured her. "My clothing kept the glass from cutting into my skin."
"Good." She said, and sighed in relief at that fact as well as at the sight of the remains of the monster disappearing.
Tuxedo Mask was just about to put his roses away when they heard a masculine voice.
"You! You ruined my plans!" The voice yelled angrily.
They turned and looked up to see a young man with blond hair pulled back into a low ponytail, green eyes, and wearing a light gray uniform with green trimming standing on the roof of the small building housing the roof door.
Who is this man? Sailor Moon wondered as she frowned. He was clearly not a monster, but it was also clear that he had a connection to the monster since he claimed they ruined his plans.
Maybe he's the one that was controlling the monster. She considered. Is he the one sending out all the monsters?
She tried to see if she could sense any dark energy coming from him since it wasn't readily apparent and radiating off him like it had with the monsters. If she could sense it perhaps she would know for sure.
Tuxedo Mask's eyes widened at the sight of the young man. Zoycite. He couldn't believe he was seeing one of his generals. Although it was clear from his words and expression that he had once again ended up being corrupted.
Have they all been found? Have Malachite, Jedite, and Neflite been corrupted as well? Does his appearance also mean Beryl herself has been corrupted? He wondered rapidly, his eyes never leaving the man.
"Who are you?" Sailor Moon asked.
"Dead people don't need to know my name." He replied haughtily.
Sailor Moon narrowed her eyes at his words, and held in a wary sigh as she braced herself to move in any direction when he attacked. She would attack first but removing her tiara was very visible and he would likely dodge and attack before she finished charging it.
Tuxedo Mask narrowed his eyes as he briefly considered trying to force him to speak his name, but decided against it for the time being. It wasn't really important for his soulmate to know Zoycite's name at present, but it was important to keep her safe and Zoycite had just verbally threatened her.
He too was included in that threat but he didn't particularly care about that. What he cared about was the implied threat against his Serenity.
He didn't even have time to contemplate trying to save or rescue his unaware general. Not when his Serenity was at his side, still unaware of her true self, likely already believing Zoycite was a new player with the enemy monsters, and needing his protection.
With that thought in mind he quickly threw the roses he still had in his hand at Zoycite before he summoned some more.
Seeing this Sailor Moon pulled off her tiara as quickly as she could and began to charge it as she watched the green eyed young man jump over the roses and down to the roof floor where they were.
Once it was floating above her fingertips she threw it at him hard and Tuxedo Mask followed up by throwing his roses at Zoycite's body, to his sides, and above him making it harder for him to dodge and avoid the spinning tiara.
The green eyed man narrowed his eyes before he seemed to almost disappear from their sight, both instantly thinking that he must have teleported away, when he reappeared to the right of where he had been standing closer to the metal railing.
"I'll remember this!" He said, practically spitting out the words in his anger. "You won't get away with interfering with my plans again!"
As soon as the last word was out of his mouth he teleported again, and the two fighters stood tense looking around cautiously for a long minute before they were sure that he was truly gone.
"That was unexpected." Sailor Moon said as she finally allowed herself to relax.
"Yes it was." Tuxedo Mask said as looked at her. "We'll have to be careful of him and any others like him at the next monster attack." He added, and she nodded.
"Do you think he's the one sending out those monsters?" She asked thoughtfully.
"It's highly likely, but there's always the possibility that there's someone above him giving him orders." He replied, knowing that there was, in fact, someone above his tainted general; whether it was Beryl or someone else he was unsure.
Sailor Moon nodded again as she considered for the first time that there was more to the enemy than just monsters attacking people around the city.
Luna had said 'agents' but hadn't elaborated, so she only thought it was monsters. Now it made sense that someone was sending out those monsters; especially since they were collecting energy. They had to be collecting energy for a reason after all.
Sailor Moon sighed. "We better get out of here." She said to her companion.
Tuxedo Mask nodded before they both headed for the roof door to begin making their way down through the building.

Days had passed since Serena's last fight against a monster, and considering all the fights she had been in since becoming a scout she believed things were going well in her still fairly new capacity.
Tuxedo Mask was still showing up and helping her, which she appreciated since it made her feel like she wasn't alone. She was starting to see him like a coworker, an experienced one at that since he sometimes spoke like he was used to fighting monsters; or at least soldier-like fighting in general.
He was such a helpful guy, and patient. She couldn't help remembering back on the last encounter with a monster. They'd had to wait nearly two hours before going after it, and he hadn't seemed to have a problem with that.
Had actually filled the time talking about general things in their lives that wouldn't reveal who they were in their everyday lives, but that she noticed still helped her learn more about him.
He was a quiet guy, and had a very deep soothing voice that set her at ease. She learned that they were both in school, and seeing someone.
She'd revealed that she had had to run out on one of her dates to deal with a monster, and that it was the first time she realized there was a downside to this fighting business. He'd said that had yet to happen to him, but he could understand how she must have felt.
Then they switched to talking about how they were doing in school, and how they were managing to keep up with their studies but both were concerned that the fighting would become more frequent and interfere with that.
After that Tuxedo Mask had asked if she trained, and she replied that she didn't. That the thought hadn't even occurred to her since she had become a scout, but she wondered if she should try since she was still concerned about only having her tiara as a weapon. Maybe practicing with it would help.
He had agreed and offered to help whenever she wanted.
Serena had appreciated that so much. She couldn't believe training hadn't occurred to her, and not even to Luna! She had only spoke of instincts. If anything training would bring out her instincts, so she would be able to fight better.
Of course she knew that meant making time to do that, which she was still trying to figure out how.
Beyond her better understanding of her 'coworker' she had wondered if she should tell Luna about the green eyed guy she had briefly fought with. He hadn't been a monster, but he was clearly working with the bad guys.
After some thought she had gone on and told Luna about him since she figured Luna might know who he was. However, it turned out that she hadn't known who he was. She hadn't recalled anyone of his description from the past either, and had warned her to keep on her toes around him.
That was easy for her to do, so she had agreed easily.
Serena's thoughts shifted away from her life as a scout, and to how things were going between her and Darien. They were still going well, which she was incredibly happy about.
Darien was such a gentleman, understanding, and attentive. She always enjoyed her time with him whether they were out having fun or just spending quiet relaxing time together. Even when they were just studying together he somehow made it enjoyable, and she ended up learning more than her teachers likely intended for this level of her education.
He would take a subject that she was studying and expand on it with what he had learned in the years since he had learned what she had. It was something that she always appreciated and it never failed to impress her.
Now it was yet another Saturday and she and Darien were about to go out on another date. She was in her room and had just finished getting dressed for the outing. He was taking her rock climbing, so she was currently wearing green legging type yoga pants, a brown tank top, and a black sports bra underneath.
She grabbed a brown suede hip bag that reached mid-thigh. Something she had gotten especially for the occasion since she couldn't bring a purse, or rather a purse wouldn't be appropriate for the occasion, and she needed to have her brooch on her.
She unzipped it and placed her brooch inside then her wallet, keys, and some lip-gloss before she zipped it back up. She calmly wrapped it around her waist and snapped it closed, and twisted it so it rested comfortably on her right hip.
She glanced out her balcony window at the bright sunlight and was thankful it was a warm day or she would have to worry about picking out a coat or sweater to wear with her outfit.
Serena sighed as she looked around to make sure she wasn't forgetting anything. She had already redone her hair, put in some simple stud earrings, brushed her teeth, and put on her lip-gloss so now she simply had to wait for her date to arrive.
Can I call Darien my boyfriend now? She wondered idly as she sat on her bed and leaned back against her pillows.
It had been just over two months since they had met, but they had been spending nearly every day together.
Definitely every weekday, and then once or more on some weekends. He clearly liked her and seemed to be spending a great deal of his free time with her. Even when he didn't have time and needed to study he was sharing that time with her.
He hasn't said anything and I obviously haven't, but I don't want to just assume anything. She thought as she nibbled lightly on her lip. Should I ask? She wondered. It was sure to be a bit embarrassing but she was comfortable enough with him that she knew he wouldn't laugh at her or make her feel foolish for asking.
Yeah. I'll ask him after he picks me up. She decided. She would be pleased to call him her boyfriend, and be known as his girlfriend.
Suddenly the doorbell rang through the house and she got up and looked out her balcony window to see Darien's red car shining in the sunlight. She smiled and hurried out of her room and downstairs to see her mom approaching the door.
"I got it! It's my date!" Serena called out to her mom, and watched her pause and nod as she looked toward her.
"Alright. Have a good time dear." Her mother said.
"Thanks." Serena said as she watched her walk back into the living room. She opened the door and smiled to see Darien standing there in a pair of black sweat pants and a gray tank top.
"Serena." Darien said, her name sounding like a greeting and caress rolled into one. She shivered, and wasn't sure if she hoped he hadn't or had noticed her reaction.
"You look good." He added.
"Thank you." Serena said as she stepped out and closed the door. "You're looking good yourself; more comfortable and relaxed than I've ever seen you."
"Do you think it's a good look on me?" Darien asked as they walked away from the door.
"Oh definitely. I wouldn't mind seeing you this way more often." She answered easily, and he smiled.
"If you wish it then I will." Darien said simply.
Serena blushed and focused on where she was stepping as he led her to his car. He led her to the passenger side and opened the door for her, and waited until she had all of her hair inside before he closed the door and she sighed as she pulled on the seatbelt.
She couldn't believe he had said that. Would he actually dress more casually if I wanted him to? Clearly he would be doing it because he wanted to, but the way he made it sound it was as if all she had to do was speak the words and he would do it, like her want was that important.
Surely if he has no problem implying such a thing he can think of me as his girlfriend. She told herself.
Despite being slightly embarrassed this had definitely given her the opening she needed to ask the question she wanted to ask. Now all she had to do was pull up her courage and ask him. No problem, right?
Darien pulled open the driver side door and slipped into his seat before he closed the door and started the engine. As he pulled on his seatbelt he looked over to his soulmate and wondered what she was thinking that had her nibbling on her lip and looking thoughtful.
Does she even know she's doing it? He wondered idly. When will I be able to claim that as my right? I certainly would love to nibble on her lips. He thought as he sighed lightly.
Hmm...when should I initiate our first kiss? He wondered. Enough time had definitely passed, but so far the moment had never been right.
What he needed to do was create the moment. As he pulled away from the curb he figured he needed to arrange a date that would set the mood for what he wanted.
"What has you so thoughtful?" He asked, glancing back to her, as he drove them down the street.
Serena blinked and looked over at him, and took a deep breath before she let it out slowly.
Now's the time. She told herself.
"We've been dating for over two months, and I was wondering what we are?" She asked.
Darien glanced over to her before focusing on the road.
"We are a couple, an exclusive couple." He said outright. "I want you, and no one else; I want to be your first thought when you wake and your last thought before you go to sleep." He elaborated before he stopped at a red light behind a car.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked his soulmate as he looked over to her.
Serena gasped as her eyes lit up. She had been hoping he would see her as his girlfriend, and thought he would say that they were dating or that she was his girlfriend, but hadn't thought he would ask.
And he was so calmly romantic about it. He simply stated what he thought without hesitation, and it rolled off his tongue in his deep tone to sound like romanticism in her ears. Not to mention he was once again being considerate, and proving that he respected her for him to ask and not just assume.
"I would love to be your girlfriend." She answered softly.
Darien smiled happily as his eyes softened. He was one step closer to regaining his soulmate's love. Her question told him that she wanted them to be an official couple, that she wanted him to be hers alone.
He was more than happy to give it to her; whatever she wanted she would have. Now he really needed to take steps to initiate their first kiss. He had a girlfriend to please.
"It feels good to have a girlfriend." He said, turning his attention back to the road as the light turned green. "It probably shouldn't feel different than it did minutes ago, but there's something about it being official."
"I completely know what you mean." Serena admitted; and she truly did. The quiet questions in the back of her mind were no longer there.
No more wondering if she was the only girl he was seeing or if his eyes were roving for another. Not that he had ever given her reason to question him. He was so very attentive to her; spending seemingly all his free time with her, and even his study time.
Now I need to get myself my first kiss! She thought with a smile. She glanced over to him and saw a little smile on his lips. But not right now. I need to push this thought away for later and focus on my date.
"Do you think the rock climbing will be hard?" She asked.
"I think it will take us a little while to get the rules down and learn how to use the harness, but I don't think the climbing itself will be a problem for either of us." Darien answered thoughtfully, and she nodded.
"I can't wait. It's sure to be fun." Serena said.
"I agree." He said as he glanced her way.
Serena looked out the window with a smile curling her lips. It was a warm, blue sky, sunny day, and she thought it had gotten even sunnier since Darien had picked her up. Maybe she was just seeing things because she was so happy. Either way, she didn't mind. It was a nice day and she was with nice company. She just hoped it wasn't interrupted by any monsters.
The newly official couple rode along in comfortable silence, Darien paying attention to the road and Serena gazing out at the view. She had never been to this part of the city before and looked on curiously at the office buildings, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and stores they passed.
A half an hour passed before Darien pulled into a parking lot attached to a large building with a large sign that said Fitness Climbing Gym: Indoor Rock Climbing.
"This is a less known establishment to my understanding," Darien said as he parked in a shaded spot. "so there might not be a lot of people. Of course it's the weekend so there might be people like us here enjoying the sport."
"This place looks rather large, so I think even if there's a lot of people there will still be plenty of room for everyone." Serena replied.
Darien finished parking and they got out of the car, and made their way inside the building hand in hand. The air inside was cool, but not uncomfortably so.
They went to the front desk and Serena listened to Darien say to the person that he had reserved two spots for the Intro Climbing class. He gave his name when asked, and then they were directed to a set of doors down a hallway.
Walking into the room they found themselves faced with one of the advertised five story walls. It was a gray straight up and down wall with different colored grips up and down the wall, so there was no chance of not having somewhere to put your hands and feet while climbing.
After looking away from the wall they noticed that there was a little less than a dozen people there. They didn't know if there would be more, but there was still time before the class started so they stepped toward them and began to wait.
A little over ten minutes passed, and in that time more people arrived; some that they could see were clearly their instructors from the look of them and their behavior. It became more obvious when they went and unlocked a locker and began to pull out ropes and harnesses.
Within minutes the class started and they were all listening carefully to the instructors and learning how to wear and secure a harness. Once everyone knew how to put on and remove a harness, and were wearing them comfortably, they turned their attention to learning how to tie a type of knot in the rope.
Once the hour was up everyone had learned the basics of climbing, and had practiced with the harnesses and ropes until they were confident.
Now they moved toward the wall and picked a spot before they began to get hooked up to the ropes. This gym had it where one could use a partner to handle the rope so they wouldn't fall or an anchor that worked the same way only automatically.
Serena and Darien chose to use the anchor so they could climb together, and that was exactly what they did.
They stood side by side with only a couple of feet between them and grabbed on to the grips, which they had been told were holds, before they began to climb.
As they gradually moved higher and higher, keeping pace with each other, they talked about different things.
"Can you imagine what doing this outside would be like?" Serena asked Darien.
"There are different places that have rock walls outside for just that reason." He replied as he looked over to her. "If you wish to we can do that another time."
"Definitely." She said as she reached for another hold. "I hope we have good weather on that day."
"So, is there anything in particular you want to do on our next date?" Darien asked after a few silent moments.
"No. I'm up for almost anything." Serena answered as she glanced his way. "Do you have any ideas?"
From there they began to toss ideas back and forth. Bike riding, the outdoor rock wall climbing they had just mentioned, maybe going to a sports game, skating on roller or ice skates, or hiking.
Unsurprisingly they were having a bit of a hard time picking, but they weren't in a hurry and they knew they would eventually get to each one of them with time.
All while they were talking they continued to climb higher and higher, and when they reached the top they slowly made their way back down before doing it all over again.
They both had a good time and over an hour later when they decided they had done enough climbing they left the climbing gym and went to get something to eat.
All in all they both were satisfied with the date. They made their relationship official, had fun, and best of all there were no interruptions, which Serena was very happy about.

The tall red eyed woman stood at her post surrounded by thin fog, her body at attention and her eyes watchful, but her mind was focused on recent happenings. She had been keeping watch on events since Sailor Moon had been awakened just as she had initially decided to, and she had learned a great deal.
After watching the entire fight, and picking up every detail, she had let her thoughts run free. Sailor Moon had done a good job, but she knew she could have done a great deal better and handled the situation quicker, if she was who she was supposed to be.
However, as she was going over the fight again she had not stopped watching, and had watched as Sailor Moon scaled the room and made it to and through the skylight window to the mysterious man that had aided her.
Looking at him dressed as he was still didn't trigger any familiarity in her. Who was he? Was he someone new or had he been in the Silver Millennium?
She watched the man's body language and listened as he told Sailor Moon that he was there to help her. He made it clear that he meant Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon alone.
His words caused her to consider any males that had been around the scout in the past, and only one name came to her mind. It was very possible, and would be preferable considering what needed to happen, that he could be who she had in mind.
She pushed that thought aside and continued to watch Sailor Moon, following along as she left the scene with the black cat, and made her way back to what was apparently her home. The scout released her transformation, and she listened closely as she and the cat began to converse.
She was all ears as they spoke of Sailor Moon's shock at being a scout and having actually fought people and monsters as if she had done it before, and the cat informing her that it was her instincts coming through.
Memories were brought up next and the feline's hope that she would begin to remember her past as it would help her overall as a scout and with her task of finding the princess.
Obviously there was only one princess that needed to be found, but the tall woman ignored that since it was not something she needed to care about beyond what would happen when the reincarnated royal was found.
She continued to listen as they began to speak of the past and where the Scouts were born in terms of their planets, and what they and the princess had been like in the past. They even touched on the feline's role.
That too was something the woman ignored as the feline would have no part to play in the future since she was too close to the princess. She knew the feline's personality well enough to know her loyalty to that royal would blind her to the reality of her serious flaws and how they affect others; not to mention how she had so blatantly and irresponsibly changed the past and so many lives.
She narrowed her eyes as the feline spoke of her impression of there being another feline advisor. There was one, who was also loyal to the royal that had yet to be found, but she was aware that he was the more reasonable of the two, and it was very possible that his loyalties would change once he knew the truth of what had happened in the past.
Sailor Moon had gone to sleep not long after her conversation with the cat, but the night had not lasted long passing very quickly to one in her position.
The days had progressed from there with her constantly keeping watch, and she had since learned that the newly awakened scout was Serena Tsukino, seventeen year old, high school student.
The young woman's identity and awakening were important, because she was also the reincarnation of Serenity; the young woman she had been looking for.
Watching as she had been she had seen her encounter with a young man she had clearly had a run in with before.
His appearance had seemed vaguely familiar to the red eyed woman, and his behavior toward Serena/Serenity was suspicious in its intensity. He seemed to take an instant liking to her and watched her all the time as if he was trying to do more than get to know her.
From then on she had watched the young man, whom she discovered was named Darien Shields, almost as closely as she watched Serena/Serenity.
She learned that he was a quiet mature twenty-one year old university student that lived alone. Judging by what classes he was taking she could tell that he was intelligent and wanted to help people.
And watching him as she was she was only slightly surprised to find out that he was the masked man that had helped Sailor Moon at her first fight; Tuxedo Mask as the newly awakened scout had apparently dubbed him.
Seeing him transform and immediately head directly for Sailor Moon was eye opening, but she was still unsure about his possible involvement in the past.
The woman continued to watch the pair, seeing them get to know each other and become closer as the days passed until they went on their first date. She followed along and listened to them talk as he drove them to their destination and later to the restaurant where their conversation continued.
They seemed to be in the middle of eating when Serena/Serenity suddenly needed to leave. She wasn't the only one surprised and confused, but Darien seemed to take it in stride and wasn't at all angry.
Instead of watching Serena/Serenity she stuck with Darien, and watched as he left the restaurant only a few minutes after her. Instead of heading to his car he transformed and immediately took to a rooftop before running along in one direction.
She raised an eyebrow as he ended up joining up quickly with Sailor Moon, and then blinked as she realized he must have known before he left the restaurant that she was going to be fighting.
And just like that she understood that he knew that Serena/Serenity was Sailor Moon.
She watched the proceeding fight, seeing how Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask worked together, and defeat of the monster. Then she watched as he retrieved her tiara and gently placed it back on her forehead.
The red eyed woman understood their civilian personas were getting close, but he was being much more gentle with her than was warranted. Perhaps it was only because of her shock over how she had injured the monster.
As they parted ways she continued to watch the young man hoping to see or hear some clue that would help her discover who exactly he was.
He headed back toward the restaurant, eventually releasing his transformation, and drove himself back to what was his home after he retrieved his car.
She watched him sit on his couch and turn on the television and seemed to simply relax as he stared at the screen. Just as she was deciding that there was nothing more to see his phone rang and he jumped up to get it.
She heard him ask if the person had made it home okay, and realized that it was Serena/Serenity on the line. After some reassurance in which it was further impressed on her that he knew she was Sailor Moon, she also came to understand that Serena/Serenity didn't know he was the masked man that had been constantly aiding her.
She listened as they made plans for their next outing before he got off the phone and returned to his seat on the couch. She was about to return her focus to Serena/Serenity when she heard him sigh heavily.
"Soon my Serenity; it will not be long." He said quietly as he closed his eyes.
The woman's red eyes widened slightly as it was confirmed with his whispered words. This young man, Darien, who was also Tuxedo Mask, was the Earth Prince; Prince Endymion.
And it was clear that by using the name Serenity he remembered the past.
