Roxanne had another productive year during her junior college year. She continued to get amazing grades for her impressive work at Spoonerville College and she continued to be an amazing assistant teacher at Unique Flowers School and impress the principal, the other teachers, the students and the students' parents.
And now that she could drive herself, life became easier for both her and me. I still like it when she's in the car with me and she's great car company, but it was helpful that she could drive when she had to go somewhere when I couldn't go with her, so it was a win for all of us. And Roxanne was so glad that she could drive herself instead of relying on me to drive for her and she could give me a ride sometimes and her best friends a ride as well. This was another skill her dad didn't want her to learn, because he didn't want her to get into a car accident and get a broken arm or whiplash or die in a car crash. She always loved her dad and she never forgot that he always did the very best he could for her, but she just couldn't view him a role model at all let alone the very best one in the history of role models and the more she did things he didn't want her to do, like learning to drive a car or doing cheerleading or learning to swim, the more she felt like she was living life to the fullest and the happiest.
And speaking of cheerleading, Roxanne continued to be a great one and helped her fellow cheerleaders perform many incredible cheerleader dances and support Spoonerville College at many sports events and at other cheerleading events and winning many more awards including the college's third Cheerleader Goddess Award and becoming one of the most popular cheerleading teams ever in the whole wide world.
In fact, due to her excellent cheerleading skills and her marvellous motivational skills for helping new cheerleaders to overcome their fears and give it their very best no matter what, the cheer coaches promoted Roxanne as the new captain of the cheerleading team. She was nervous about it at first, but she went for it and, as time went on, she did a very good job at it and the cheer coaches all agreed that, out of all the cheer captains Spoonerville College has ever had, she was the very best one that they ever had. Remember when she thought she would never be in a cheerleading team at all in her whole life? Well, she thought even less about being the captain of one. And she still to this very day can't believe she was the captain of one of the very best cheerleading teams ever. And even though she knew I couldn't go to see her at every cheerleading event she and her team did, she always knew that, even when I couldn't go to see her cheerlead in person, I would always still support her in spirit and she would always appreciate that as much as she did every time I would go and support her in person whenever I could. It always made her very happy, gave her more confidence and it was concrete proof to her that I meant so much to her and that she meant so much to me as well.
As for the college's drama production that college year, Hayden decided to do Mamma Mia, the jukebox musical with ABBA songs. Roxanne was very excited about this one. She didn't even know about the musical yet alone see it, but she loved ABBA. They were her favorite after Powerline and her dad loved them as well. It was one of the very few interests they had in common.
For the musical, Roxanne earned the role of Tanya, while her friends Vicky earned the role of Ali, Valeria earned the role of Lisa and Kenny earned the role of Sky. She really liked the role of Tanya and the songs she would have to sing, especially Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, Does Your Mother Know? and Waterloo, were her four favorite ABBA songs.
The show premiered at the Spoonerville College Theater in February 2008 and again I was there on opening night to see the opening performance. Even though I saw Roxanne and her co-stars rehearse when I helped Hayden and his crew with the sets, the costumes and the props and I even helped her rehearsed when we were at home, she and the whole cast still amazed me with the show they did. After the show was over, I told her how wonderful the show was and how great she was in it. Then she told me how very glad she was that I went to see her when I did. Even though I had been seeing her in every show she starred in ever since she joined Spoonerville College and she knew I would go to see her in every show she would do, like her cheerleading, she still appreciated every time I would go to watch her and she felt better when I did.
Once again, my dad, Sylvia and Hannah came to see me one day and I managed to get tickets so they could go and see Roxanne perform in the show on that night. They liked the show a lot and they were very impressed with her acting. Once the show was over and they told her how much they enjoyed it and seeing her, she was very pleased to hear that and she was very happy that they came to see her.
The show was once again a huge success, selling out every day for the two weeks it ran, and it won a lot of awards including the Best College Theatre Production Award and Hayden's third Best Director in A College Theatre Production Award. And on the last night, Hayden brought me and the rest of the crew on stage in front of the audience to give us the credit we deserve for helping him make this production the best it could be. Then, as a bonus, the real life members of ABBA came on stage to tell us all how much they enjoyed our production of Mamma Mia and then they sang Waterloo with us. It was all amazing.
For Spring Break 2008, the college students went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico and I went with them. It was Roxanne's first time in Mexico and she quickly liked it. She like the amazing culture, the unique dangerous food and the friendly people. We all liked the hotel we stayed at. Roxanne and I liked the room we had and the bed, the ensuite, the TV and the balcony with it. And we enjoyed exploring Playa del Carmen.
I enjoyed the day when Roxanne and I with her friends went to explore Chichen Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World. We enjoyed looking around, seeing the remains of the buildings with the pyramid El Castillo, the astronomical observatory El Caracol and the Mesoamerican ball ballgame court among them and enjoyed learning about them and Mesoamerican history in general.
I remember the day when Roxanne and I with her friends went to the Yucatan Jungle. We enjoyed exploring it and seeing many incredible sights with the pyramid Nohoch Mul among them and lots of wildlife including monkeys and toucans among them.
I'll never forget the day when Roxanne and I rented an ATV and went for a ride to explore a lot of Playa del Carmen. As usual, I did all the steering and she rode behind me, but we all enjoyed the experience.
I remember the day when we went to visit the 3D Museum of Wonders and we were amazed by all the incredible paintings we saw. We also visited another museum and that was the Frida Kahlo Museum. And we all enjoyed seeing the legend's incredible art and learning about her life and everything there was to know about her.
I'll also never forget the day when we went to explore the large, beautiful and amazing Rio Secreto Caverns.
As for the other days of the Spring Break trip, we did a lot of swimming and snorkelling in the sea, we relaxed on lots of lovely beaches, ate at a lot of lovely cafes and restaurants where they provided many delicious Mexican food and did some Mexican shopping.
As for our relationship for that year, it still went strong and we both felt that it kept getting stronger. Once again, Roxanne and I did the Thanksgiving service at Spoonerville College for Thanksgiving Day 2007 and Roxanne's friends helped us again. And again, Roxanne and I went to Big Sky to spend Christmas 2007 and New Year 2008 with my family and we had a great time there. And when we weren't too busy, we still went on dates together and we caught up with my family and our friends and she even went on a few girls' trips with her friends Stacey and Lauren. Yeah, this college year was so amazing for the both of us.
