When the Latino landed and stepped off the plane he needed a moment to take in the chilly Minnesotan air, which was a total contrast to the hot and drenching Californian heat he got used to over the course of those almost 4 years he's been living there. Feeling some sort of cold was very refreshing and felt like home.
Speaking of home, he wanted to go there on the fastest way possible. He took a bus to the nearest big city, stepped off there and took a ridiculously expensive cab to his parents house. Normally he would never in a million years be able to afford it, but nothing about his life was normal anymore. He was part of one of the biggest and most popular boy bands there is and this popularity came with its perks, but also problems. The amount of money the boys earn a week is something other people only dream of. If they would have access to their bank accounts, where it's stored, Logan could pay for med school 5 times and James could buy the whole Cuda Company, so he would have an unlimited supply of their products, which he is obsessed with.
Having so much money was definitely something he enjoyed about this whole band thing.
The best part of it was though, that he didn't share this experience and the stage with strangers but rather his three best friends who he considers his big brothers. They've been through so much together and this once in a lifetime experience will bond them even more, or so it looked like it in the beginning at least.
In Carlos' eyes they broke the promise they've made the first day, they got to L.A - that this town wouldn't change them.
It flew out the window the first time James showed up as an 'orange freak' as Gustavo called him, meaning he had Hollywood Fever what also got Logan and himself. He justified his behavior with his big crush on the Jennifers and this rare opportunity to spend time with them, without being rejected. It took a lot of snowballs to realize, they were in over their heads and acting like lunatics. Logan threw away his Bongos which he got from Guitar Dude when he transformed into a hippie, Carlos switched from a Fedora back to his helmet and abandoned the Jennifers and James fell face down into the snow and snow-angeled his skin back into its normal color.
They were cured, all thanks to tons of fake snow and Kendall.
It's always been Kendall to get them out of trouble and grounded on their feet. Back then he did it, because he cared more about them as his best friends than his band mates and their reputation - but it seems like that table has turned as well.
Almost two months ago, when BTR had a cameo on Coco.O - Carlos' favorite TV show - the evil executive producer kept telling Kendall and him to stay away from the actress he had a crush on. But when did the boys ever listen to what they were told? Never! So the duo attempted multiple approaches to get to talk to Dara undetected. Needless to say all those attempts failed, so that the producer got fed up and threatened to end the boys' career by tweeting out to Dara's large group of followers that BTR would harass her.
"Well I don't care", were the words that left Carlos' mouth.
"Shut up!", was all Kendall could say to prevent this tragedy from happening. It didn't in the end and after the producer stormed off for the umpteenth time that day, Kendall turned around to Carlos after he asked, what would happen now and screamed in his face: "I'm gonna kick your-", he got interrupted by the ringing bell which means that the show is shooting.
When the Latino got kissed in the end by Dara, all of the guys were happy for him. But he couldn't let go of the feeling, that the leader would've made his threat true. It showed him that even Kendall Knight - the one who was always loyal to his friends, however in what mess they've gotten themselves into and the one who initiated the promise, broke it. And that broke Carlos Garcia's heart.
He didn't recognize his three best hockey-playing goofing friends anymore with whom he arrived at Hollywood almost 4 years ago. This town turned them cold and ignorant to people's feelings other than their girlfriends. It has even gotten so far that it seems like they don't even care about each other anymore unless it has to do with the band. Where there used to be deep and rooted friendship up to the point of brotherhood that lasted over a decade, now there's only shallow interest and dedication to other's problems. Los is not even sure if they would still be talking, if it wasn't for the sake of the band.
And that's why he needed to get away. Away from the Palmwoods, away from Hollywood - the town that gave them amazing opportunities but also destroyed their bond - and most importantly away from his so-called best friends, speaking in the past sadly.
With all that in mind, Carlos stepped on the porch and anticipated the long overdue reunion with his family. He imagined being bombarded by his younger brothers and the stories that happened while he wasn't around, also enjoying the delicious Dominican home-made cooking that their mother spends hours making. No offense to Ms. Knight's cooking, but nothing beats Latin food, not even the yummiest corndogs. Those would be good times but the best would be spending time with his dad, who he idolizes and misses more than he would miss his helmet, if it was gone. Speaking of which, he left it on his bed in 2J. He wouldn't need it, when he was with his dad, he made him invincible, at least that was what he was told as a little boy.
Those thoughts made the Latino smile when he rang the bell and expected either his brothers or parents to open the door and embrace him in a hug, he desperately needed one. None of that happened. He was greeted by his exhausted and angry looking grandma, who he didn't like very much and the feeling was mutual.
"It's about time that you show up. We've got work to do, Roberto."
