A/N: I would like to apologize for not updating this story for over a month. I had to rewrite major parts of this chapter and the next because I didn't like the original draft anymore. I am currently rewriting the second part of this chapter as well, but I wanted to update again, so I split it into two.

Also another lame excuse: It's kinda hard to write fictional characters fighting, when the real life people they are based on (just released two amazing songs and) had an adorable group hug that showed, how much they love each other :3

Silence. The female Knights were stunned by everything that was confessed in the last couple minutes. They had no idea what had been going on with the boys lately. Jennifer felt like she failed as a mother and guardian. Those boys are her responsibility, she's been taking care of them ever since they all moved to L.A and even long before that she considered her son's best friends her own. She should've known something was wrong, solely for the reason that she has known the four almost their entire lives.

"Ok, I can tell there is some heavy tension in the room and I think it's time for you boys to have a heart-to-heart talk. You used to do that all the time, when you were kids and it always helped to solve the problem.
Katie and I need to finish packing, so we'll leave you alone. Dinner's in the fridge, if you're hungry.
It breaks my heart to see you like this, so please promise me that when we get back, you guys will be friends again and find out where Carlos is. I love you, all four of you."

With those words and a kiss on Kendalls forehead, Mrs. Knight went to her bedroom. Katie did the same after giving all three boys a hug and her big brother a kiss on the cheek. She would never admit it out loud, but the whole situation burdened her as well, so she was kinda glad to escape it for a while, even though she wasn't affected directly. She felt bad for her brothers and wanted them to be happy again.

Once the girls were gone, silence fell upon the trio once again. Nobody wanted to start that lovingly titled heart-to-heart-talk. Quick glances were exchanged, but words didn't leave any of their mouths.

The only sound was a ringing cell phone and - to no one's surprise - it belonged to the brunette. "Lucy ❤️" was written on the screen. James declined her call. This was more important than a fancy dinner with his girlfriend. All the things he heard, while he was getting ready in the bathroom, really got him thinking. If it was really as bad as Logan had pictured it, he would need to apologise. But not before he knew exactly what for.

"I'm not going. She'll understand", he announced.

Kendall highly doubted that, but remained silent.

"Why are you here?", Logan asked, pissed. Right at the moment he had nothing but anger left for James and was about to let him know that.

"Because of all the things you said about me behind my back. You could've said them directly to my face, y'know. But at least I now know, how you two backstabbers feel about me. You are the worst fucking friends in the world!", was his angry response. Two can play the blame game and James wasn't about to go down without a fight.

"Oh no no no. You earned that title for yourself, shithead.", the genius had plenty of comebacks up his sleeve.

"What the hell are you talking about, what did I do?", his voice got defensive. He honestly had no idea, why he was Logan's verbal punching bag right now.

"Oh, shut up! You don't remember, for real?! Then let me give you a little friendly reminder: Not only did you almost punch me, your best friend, because I failed to do this one dance move right; you also told Carlos that he was a, and I qoute you on this `talentless dumbass' and yelled at him, till he cried. I'm pretty sure Carlos, y'know the guy you call your little brother, is still emotionally scarred by this.
You straight up BULLIED the people, you fucking vowed to protect from bullies. That's pathetic Diamond, just pathetic.", the genius was fuming at this point, barely able to keep his voice below a yelling tone.

That last statement hit him. The horrible pictures of what happened on these days, that he pushed in the far back of his mind for a few months, slowly came back to him and were displayed before his inner eye. James remembered the things Logan described and started to feel bad for them.

"I…I…I'm sorry…", he didn't know how to word his apology so that the guys would believe him. Expressing his inner feelings was never his strong suit.

"Yeah right, please spare us your lies". Logan was done listening to and believing anything James had to say. He wasn't sorry at all. He knew the pretty one well enough to know, that what he put up right now, was nothing but an act.

However, the brunette took offense to that (because he really did feel regret for what he'd done) and started to raise his voice again. If Logan really wanted to rile him up, than he would give him exactly that.

"Look Mitchell, I'm trying to be sincere here, I AM sorry for what I did to you and Carlos, but if you don't even have the decency to let me finish, then maybe you don't deserve my apology in the first place, simple as that."

"I'm impressed that you even know what decency means. Maybe you're not as stupid as you always act", the shorter brunette was back in sass mode.

Kendall, who so far has been experiencing that whole word battle as a silent observer, thought the yelling part was finally over. Oh, how wrong he was.
