Chapter 51

A/N: Part 2 - 05/04/2024 added

Part 1 - 04/08/2024

Nothing could change Will's mind but there's no need to worry. Will is fine. Will isn't brainwashed or being manipulated. Will just doesn't want to leave Brie because she knows what it's like being alone. As for Lucy, she just doesn't want to leave Will again like she did the last time until she's certain that Will is ready. That's what Faith said. Faith seems to have all the answers including why it would be good for a change of environment. It's one way to make sure that no one is following. It's an opportunity to see if this is a good place to settle which everyone agrees that five months is still too soon to decide. Surrounded by nature is nice but it isn't any better than Toronto because it rains as often even if it's not as cold in the winter. Summer time is nice though since it's not as hot and today is turning out to be the best day of the year so far.

"I can't believe he still remembers me." Amy said as she continued to look at Zander who's enjoying running around the playground set.

"Of course he would. I made sure of that…"

Janet hasn't changed much, still so bubbly, except for the weight. She finally lost it. Months without Nadia's cooking must have helped. With no one except Scud to look after Zander, she must be looking forward to today for quite some time since she has a lot of stories to tell. Anyone would be happy to learn that their child is gifted with a good memory but no one would describe their child as an eavesdropper. Now that's funny. It is until she said Zander overheard her conversation with Scud.

"He wanted to know what a divorce is, where you went, when you'll be back. And the most bizarre thing he said was Waygoway, he meant Reyjavik. He knew where Lucy went. Scud didn't even know at that time. Isn't that weird?"

Not weird at all. Maybe he heard it from Scud when he was talking to Lucy on the phone. Maybe it's just a word he heard before. More detail is needed to determine how he knew. But right now, Amy has no interest in finding out how it happened and when it happened because she now realized why Janet deliberately asked Nadia to go play with Zander for awhile. It's not just to talk about Holly and everything that happened in the past year. It's because she heard about Lucy. Who told? It could be Lucy. It could be Nadia. Regardless, there's no need to hide it from Janet since she needs to know the vaccine isn't 100% effective. "You can still get it. So if you have a sore throat, don't assume it's nothing. Make sure you isolate." That's what happened after that night. A few sneezes one day turned to more cold symptoms the next. It felt like a cold until the self-testing kit for covid came out positive. Luckily, it wasn't serious. The self-testing kit wasn't accurate either. But one thing is certain, staying in one part of the house wasn't enough to stop the spread because Faith got the same symptoms the next day. "Quarantining is necessary." It's a logical reason but not good enough for Janet to think there is nothing wrong. Now it's obvious. Janet is prepared for this because now she's talking about everything that Lucy did, the sacrifice, the pain, how she almost died, and everything she went thru. If Max were here, she would've rolled her eyes because Janet is describing Lucy like she did nothing wrong. Would she still think that if she knows about Ezz? Would she still think that if she knows that Lucy slept with Brooke after hooking up with me? Would she still be able to see Scud the same way if it was Scud, if Scud was once a womanizer? Of course she won't. She too would have nightmares. She too would wonder what else Lucy is hiding. She too would wonder if it will happen again. People don't change. They just get better at hiding who they really are. That's what CJ said. Surprisingly, Faith said the same thing. She is who she's always been. Janet would most definitely disagree because now she's freaking out and being overly-dramatic. "I really don't think she's going to try to blow up Australia again."

"of course not, duhh, she's not crazy but she'll blow up that forbidden island for Brooke and because of you"

Meanwhile

It's been over a year yet it feels like nothing has changed except for the location. Scud still looks the same but apparently, his IQ has improved. An explanation was already given a long time ago. No more questions were asked since then. Now he's not convinced and Anthony is looking like he just realized he had been lied to. It's not a lie. It's because there's no need for them to know the details. But they're right. It is difficult to trust anyone related to Schaeffer, let alone his son. It is difficult to believe that he was able to remove the bomb himself. An expert might not even be able to. But Christian did because he was prepared. All it took was a bucket of liquid nitrogen and a distraction that no one else is supposed to know about, not Anthony and not Scud who, for some reason, realized the summary given doesn't make sense and now he wants to know how two guys in the van failed to notice what Christian did.

"So?" Scud asked since Lucy is in thinking mode as if trying to think of a better reason than what she said before. Wanting to know what she will say cannot be the only reason. "If you're not going to tell us, we could always ask-" Scud didn't continue since it's working. The glare given shows that she must not want Amy to know.

Should I? Lucy takes a gulp of water while remembering that moment of confusion, fear and not knowing what to do. There was nothing she could do other than do what Dr. Hazel once said. It wasn't a suggestion. It was a joke because Dr. Hazel doesn't believe anyone could be hypnotized unless they're willing. Surprisingly, it worked. Somehow banging her head against the wall caused enough pain to overcome Doc's hypnotic drug. What's even more surprising was finding out what Adalyn put herself thru. There weren't just questions. One touch on one hand led to more. Did that happen in every hypnosis session? That's what she was thinking. As inappropriate as it was, she continued with the pretense, doing what she was expected and saying what she had intended because it was the only way to make them believe that she had been telling the truth and that Brooke didn't know anything about the key. She didn't realize that Christian also had his own plan B until she heard the sound of the helicopter and saw the underground tunnel that leads to a panic room which was quite impressive. But none of that is as surprising as what Christian confessed to. It wasn't a plan B. It was Adalyn's plan from the beginning. They both already know but they don't need to know what Adalyn did. "I told them what Brooke and I did. It was very, very detailed. It's not true. But don't mention it again. And don't ask her about Doc. Don't mention Doc's name, ever." They're both smart. They would probably be able to figure it out since they both know what men are most vulnerable to.

"wait, you mean"

Yup. Scud's brain always works faster than everyone else's. Don't ask for details. You're not getting any.

"She believes her?"

Oh. Maybe not this time. Obviously he still doesn't believe Doc. Sadly, Amy does and was even more upset than the time she found out about Brooke. After being told to get out that day, she thought the marriage is over until she was told not to go near Doc and Adalyn again. Each day she slept alone, she wondered if the next day would be the day when Amy would say It's over. After one week, then another and another, she realized what Amy was going thru since she too had that experience when the nightmare about the megastar won't go away. The only way to resolve it is confront it. But in Amy's case, it would be more difficult even if sex didn't happen with Brie because Brie wasn't the only one in the nightmare. Adalyn, Brooke and Ezz were there too. It was a mistake to let Amy know that Doc could be another, one that she wished she could undo. "She believes she could be."

"Do you?" Scud asked, wondering why Lucy still has to think about it when there's no proof. "c'mon, I could be wrong. It was so many years ago." Scud regretted letting her know about the time when she came back with an injured bandage hand. He didn't know why she asked if she had an injury until she said Doc once treated her. "She's making it up to get you to trust her."

I wished that were true. But in this case, it's difficult to deny the possibility. The picture of a younger Doc along with a story of how it happened made it even more possible because it happened around the time after Brooke left. Scud had said many times that she wasn't the same back then after the break-up so it's not hard to believe that her reckless behavior almost killed a man for making too much noise in the hotel room next door while she was trying to sleep. It's not hard to believe that she unknowingly saved the prostitute from the man who wanted his way than the negotiated sex that he paid for and the prostitute called Doc for help instead of going to the hospital since she didn't want the police involved. It's not hard to believe that it was a one-night stand because she remembered the time when she woke up with two naked women after having too much to drink. But in this case, no one was heavily drunk. According to Doc, it happened because she was feeling lonely, exhausted and overwhelmed with the same issues that females have in society especially as a medical student. It happened because there was a connection and mutual understanding. It happened in the same way, for the same reason, as Ezz. Sex for money. That's how. She was drowned in debt like Ezz was. She was older but she was young and beautiful. Why wouldn't I? "You haven't seen her in person. You would too." That would be enough for a reason. They don't need to know about the birthmark near her private or anything else. They need to mind their own business though especially Scud who for some reason thinks he can persuade Amy when he doesn't even know what Amy is going thru. "Who you texting?" Lucy said in case Scud is texting Amy.

"She's not sleeping with you. So I want to know what she's thinking."

How the heck did he find out so fast? One week quarantining at home did not keep him from noticing apparently.

"How long has it been? One month? two? A year?"

Scud always tries to help but sometimes his methods made it worse. That's personal. Now Anthony knows. "It's just temporary. She got the flu. She didn't want to spread it to me."

"Not sleeping with you, not living with you. That's called trial separation. Trial separation leads to divorce."

Scud likes to exaggerate because then it would let others, in this case Anthony know how serious the situation is. "It's not like that. I moved out because" Lucy didn't continue because Scud just extended his phone in her face. That's not close enough. Can't see. She realized it was not meant for her to read it after he quickly took it away.

"She's not going to divorce you because technically, we're not married."

Sometimes Scud can be very confusing. Now with the crazy, illogical, effed up change of the different meanings of pronouns, it's even more confusing. Does he mean he and Janet or me? "What?" Lucy asked, then realized where he's getting the information from after he repeated it in finger quotes. "She said that?"

"She told Janet."

"Well then, you better get down on your knees and beg for forgiveness." Anthony said.

What! For someone who would never do that, it's surprising to get this suggestion from him. He doesn't even know the whole story. Lucy had no intention of letting anyone else know what happened that night but now it's necessary so that they both know why Amy wanted to sleep in separate rooms. One black eye is not fatal but next time could be. Nightmares can't be controlled. Knowing how many there were, who they are is the reason Amy is having the nightmares. Getting the flu then became the reason to continue. Moving next door wasn't Amy's idea but she agreed to Faith's suggestion to see if it would help. "She said she needs time."

"Then she must have realized there's no other solution so you better stop giving her time and start crawling."

Anthony has good advice most of the time but this one sucks! "How's that going to help?"

"Have you tried?"

What's up with him? A moment ago, he's been quietly listening. Now he's responding as quickly as Scud was.

"Look, you can't change the past but you can change the future. The question is would you be able to get over it?"

He must be hanging around with Faith for too long. Now he's talking like her. What does that even mean? Scud looks confused too.

"Look"

I'm looking. Lucy continued to look down from the balcony but still can't understand what she should be looking at. It's still a mess but it's better than an hour ago. Bryan is still setting up the floor. Nothing is standing out except for CJ who's waving her hand. Oh. The flowers are here. Is that what he's referring to? It doesn't make sense if it is. It's not but his suggestion is the worst one yet. "What drugs are you taking?" That would be better than saying 'Are you out of your effing mind?'

"Think about it. It's the only way."

"Thank you for your concern but please keep that to yourself." Lucy shook her head as she walked out to show him how she really feels.

"If I were you, I'd tell her tonight. Or kneel! Do both!"

It must be old age and loneliness. Why else would he make such a ridiculous suggestion? Crazy. It's crazy to think that this would be an easy task. Holy cow. That's a lot of flowers. No wonder CJ needs help. Three hours to go. Shoot. Getting professionals would've been better. Hated when Anthony is right.

"Umm, where are you planning to put those? That's not in the design, is it?"

"I ordered too much." Lucy admitted the mistake before telling Ethan to put them all in the corner for now. Having Ethan here wasn't the original plan but having him here would make this task a lot easier and is the right thing to do. But having him here probably gave Anthony the crazy idea. "Get down here" Lucy waved to Scud while wondering why he's still up there talking to Anthony when he knows why he's asked to be here. What else do they have to talk about? They better not tell Amy. Amy would be so pissed. Amy would probably be pissed about this too.

Three hours later, Lucy realized she's right. But it's worth it.

Pink and ivory roses beautified every wall, table, seat and corner. The water view along with the blue sky and the surrounding nature made this place look even bigger and more attractive than a hotel banquet hall. Who knew an outdoor tent wedding would be this beautiful? Holly did. It's her idea and shockingly, she was able to keep the bride from knowing. Keeping it from others was a piece of cake. It took a few lies but the look on their faces was a moment to remember, even Amy's who was a little ticked off for being kept out of the loop but now she has the same expression as everyone else. Nadia's expression is different from everyone else though. That's because she didn't know Ethan is going to be here until now. Don't stop. Keep going. There will be time to talk later. Now it's time to follow the music which Faith is doing a fantastic job at with the electric piano and with no preparation. Don't trip. With Holly by her side, Nadia didn't but couldn't control her tears from falling. It is difficult to contain the happiness within without crying. Even Ethan couldn't. Alec couldn't either and he's watching from thousands of miles away with his wife who's going to be due any time this week. This wedding is small but it has everything that Nadia wanted, family, friends, gorgeous view, elegant setting, and cute little Zander who made everyone laugh after shouting 'I do' at the same time that Holly did. Not everything worked out as planned but mission accomplished. No one has any complaints. Amy must have a lot since she's still talking with Ethan. It has been over a year. There's a lot to catch up on. But really? Interrupting their conversation would surely get Amy even more pissed. Giving them a moment would be better. There's no need to worry. Ethan is completely over Amy and Amy would never be interested in – Now what? This is a big house. A phone call would be easier but what's the urgency? Why can't he say it over the phone? What did he find out this time? He didn't find out about Doc. Did he? Oh crap if he did. Doc no longer works for anyone. Digging into her past could let others know that she's still alive. No one else is supposed to know. Now it seems like a mistake to keep her secret from him and Scud but letting them know that Doc once belonged to a similar organization like Holly's would probably have the same outcome. Lucy hurried to the entertainment room as told and hoped Anthony's urgency isn't about Adalyn either.

It's not. What…the hell. Anthony always has his own way of thinking. It would be nice if he asks for permission first! He's doing it again! Is this pre-planned? Is this why he suggested to use this place? Ughh. It's too late to hide. It's not too late to yell at Anthony but later. Getting looked at from head to toe is expected. But please don't slap me again. Amy isn't here but if she were, she probably would just wait to see what Brie would do like Anthony is doing now.

"Reallyyy?"

Okay. That's unexpected. "It's necessary." Lucy said before apologizing so that no one else would think that she's apologizing for anything else other than hiding her gender. Getting a hug is better than a slap.

"Thank you" Brie said.

That's not necessary. Really, it's not. Okay. That's too close. Too hard. Too much. If Amy were here, she might think something is going on. Is she trying to feel if my body is real or does she want to get even? Hey, hands off the butt.

"You can tell me all about it later."

What's that supposed to mean? What else is there to tell? Now isn't the time to ask since an introduction is made. That's not necessary either but it is appropriate since this is the first time. Getting words of gratitude and a hug from the one whose life has been difficult from the moment she was born is exactly how she imagined it would feel. She's worth it. "How do you feel?" Lucy asked even though she already knows the answer since Will has been helping Brie. One month was all it took to prove the effectiveness of the vaccine. Four more months made a huge difference, physically and mentally. She does have a pleasant voice, just like Will said. Christian is one lucky guy. Where's he? Anthony didn't invite him? Possible. It's also possible she agreed to this because she wants to talk privately. Okay. Well that's odd. Anthony, like Scud, still doesn't trust Christian but he obviously trusts his girlfriend since he's leaving with Brie without being asked. Maybe he already knows what she wants to talk about? "Want something to drink?" Alcohol would not be suitable but everything else should be okay.

"No, thank you"

Another thank you isn't necessary. A story of how she got infected is good to know. But oh man, if she has never been on the forbidden island, that could mean Lanai and other islands have it too. Poisoned by flowers and bitten by a poisonous spider is one combination that Doc didn't mention. It is possible that Doc didn't know since Christian didn't mention it either but did say Brooke loves taking pictures of nature especially when something is unique. Who knew this love almost killed her. Who knew a few days of vacation in the Aloha state would turn into a nightmare? Christian didn't. He probably would've killed Jack himself if he did since he thinks Jack's intention was to find more about her so he can use her against him if necessary. That is possible. It is odd that Jack just happened to be in the same tour so that can't be a coincidence. But why would he poison her? If he knew about the flowers, then why did he still go to that island? That doesn't make sense. What does is if he was hitting on her, like she said. Her name probably did reminded him of Brooke. She doesn't look like Brooke but she's pretty. She's the type that he would be interested in. She also has a weird way of telling a story. It's not Jack's fault. It's Riley's? What? No one said that. No one did because no one knew, not even Riley herself since the symptoms didn't show up until 2 months later and Riley had none. It was an accident. It was unintentional. Getting the spider off is a spontaneous response to fear. Anyone would have tried to get it off their hand in any way they could without thinking where it will land. It landed on her which then forced her to fall on an area with wild plants and flowers. Jesus. Many is born with bad luck. She is one of them. Riley is too. No one knew Riley was infected because just like Francois, Riley was in a coma after getting struck on the head but she was struck by her ex who tried to assault her. But unlike Francois, Riley's coma lasted only 2 weeks. After she woke up, she too had forgotten certain things including the incident. That is one strange virus. It does seem to affect people differently. Maybe it is from the spider. Maybe she didn't get pricked by the flowers. Maybe she was bitten by a baby gecko but didn't know that she was. That's possible too. Another possibility could be because Riley has never been in love. Flowers of love. That's what Doc said too. Faith was right. It wasn't sex. It's love.

Lucy felt the need to look away into the panoramic window and exhaled a long breath to prevent the tears from forming.

"sorry"

There's no need to apologize. None of this is her fault. "I'm glad you're okay." No one would know the truth if she's not.

"I meant, for Christian and Adalyn."

Ohh. Yes. Apologizing for her boyfriend and friend who did everything they could to try to save her is necessary. "He's one lucky guy." It's a compliment but oddly, it didn't have the effect that she thought it would. There was a smile but that disappeared very quickly. Now she's looking at the window. What's the sigh for? What happened? Please don't tell me they've been lying about their relationship.

Part 2 - 05/04/2024

Meanwhile

Surprise birthdays are common but a surprise wedding? Coming here, Amy was expecting a bbq get-together, not a wedding. This is one surprise she never heard of or expected from Holly. Now learning that Ethan has been here for more than a week, it's hard to believe that Holly came up with this all by herself. It could be her idea to have an outdoor wedding but no doubt, she must have taken advice from Lucy since Lucy once said she prefers a spontaneous wedding because preparing for a wedding is too much of a headache and it would be hilarious to see everyone's reaction. Only Lucy would think that's funny. Everyone else especially Nadia was shocked. She's lucky that Nadia didn't mind; Anyone else would be upset.

"Next time, don't listen to her." Amy puts the plate on the tray. It's good to see him laughing. But what happened? Since when did he start feeling differently about Lucy? It has been a long time. He should be over it by now. But he never talked about Lucy in a good way ever since he found out that she's more than just a friend. Now he's complimenting on her creativity, her fast thinking and her managing skill? "She loves telling others what to do." That's not a joke. That's one of the many flaws that Faith said about Lucy and one that he doesn't like. So why is he laughing again? Why is he talking about the cake? It is delicious. It does look very nice. 5 tier would be too much. Three is perfect. "She made it?" Impossible.

"I meant the design. But she was planning to make this."

What? Did she have trouble ordering one? Are there no bakeries willing to make one for a gay couple? There are more religious zealots here than the US if it is. It's not. It's because Lucy doesn't trust them. That makes sense. Food made outside won't be as clean as home cooking but what was she thinking? She doesn't know how. Maybe a simple one but definitely not this 3 tier wedding cake. "Thank goodness you know how. It would've been a disaster."

"that's why I offered"

Ooh. If Lucy heard, she won't like that. He may have complimented her earlier. Now he's listing the mistakes that she made. Delivery delay is to be expected but ordering too much flowers?

"The heart was her idea. The entrance too."

The heart shaped arch of flowers? That's gigantic. Having a tunnel of artificial flowers in white, pink and violet to the entrance is a nice addition. That must have taken a long time to put it all together. The setup, the food, and this cake are all impressive but it seems that he too doesn't understand Nadia. "That's nice but you know what would be even better?" Letting him know can wait because this is a private party so what is she doing here? No one said she's going to be here. Who invited her? Can't be Lucy. Can't be Will. It could be Anthony since he's the only one here with her. But why? Sending a message to Lucy can wait too. It's more important to tell Ethan to give her a moment of privacy. Conversation can continue later. "I didn't expect to see you here." Amy asked but didn't expect to get a one word response. Really what? What is she looking at? If she were a man, her behavior would be considered pervertic.

"I considered you as my friend. That's why I told you so much about myself. So I expected you to do the same. How could you not tell me?"

"Excuse me?" Amy asked since Brie isn't talking in her normal speed which is faster than most people and this time, it's even faster and more confusing.

"Your girlfriend. I know."

"Actually, she's her wife."

"You're married?"

"Technically they're not, not now. New identity doesn't come with a marriage certificate. Isn't that right?" Anthony smiles at the perplexed face.

"really?" Brie said, hoping she would get an explanation from the one whom she has learned a lot about over the past few months but didn't get one and instead got an apology and blame on her complicated girlfriend. That's not a good excuse but it's understandable. People would do anything for their other half even when they know it's wrong. But what is Hope's excuse? "Well, aren't you looking dashing? Are you the groom, best man, or the photographer?" Hope is no longer Hope. Her behavior had always been different from most woman and now, it's the same as most men. "How could you not tell me?"

Brie is obviously upset with Will too and not just because of Lucy. Anthony didn't tell her or did she just realized there's a wedding going on from the 3 tiered cake? Will does look ravishing with the black shirt and royal blue tie and clearly surprised but also seems to be unaffected by Brie's realization.

"What are you doing?" Brie asked after having her wrist held onto.

"There's someone I want you to meet. C'mon. You too. Everybody. Party is not over."

"I'll be right out." Amy said since she needs to wash her hands first. Anthony must not have seen them together otherwise why would he ask if they're together? Just because Will acts differently towards Brie doesn't mean they are. Will does look good but that certainly does not mean all is well. He should know why Will decided to transition. There wasn't really a choice. Transitioning was the only way to deal with the physical changes caused by the drug. Psychological issues were also inevitable. If he thinks that Will has no more issues, he's as ignorant as Faith said. Ignorant and nosy.

"…wait, I'm on your side. I completely agree with you and I think you should continue-"

"This is a party." Amy interrupted before going outside. This would sound better than 'stay out of this!' since that would be rude. He might be nosy but he has good intentions. Letting Brie know the truth won't help Lucy but it seems to be helping Brie. It must have been a long time or maybe she's never been to this type of wedding. A non-traditional wedding in casual clothing for guests is more comfortable, fun, and funny. Who can resist cute little Zander who's lifting his arms and doing everything that Ethan is doing. It's not a dancing contest but if it is, they would surely win the first place with their silly dance moves since everyone is laughing except for Kato since it's lying on the ground, clearly exhausted from running around this big place earlier. She's not the only one. Janet not only looks tired, she looks like she just came back from using the bathroom. "You okay?"

"I ate too much."

Ohh Janet. Ethan's cooking is hard to resist. The cake is too beautiful not to try a piece even if there's no room for it. Amy laughed until Janet asked:

"Who's that?"

Janet doesn't know about Brie. She knows about Christian's girlfriend though. She's here too? Lucy has seen Brooke when she's still in a coma but has never met her so why are they acting like they've known each other for a long time. What is she doing?

Lucy waved her hand, hoping Holly and Nadia would get the hint. It looks like Holly got it. But if it comes this way, it would be difficult to catch it with Anthony here. "Give it to me if you get it." Lucy said to Anthony.

"No way. You're on your own."

What's up with him? Sick of being alone? He would need more than a good luck bouquet. Or is he just saying that because he found another target? Brie or Brooke? If it's Brie, he might have a chance. If it's Brooke, he's wasting his time. Brooke is not going to be interested. He can continue to use me to joke around though. Laughter is the best way to heal from trauma. She doesn't look like Katya but her smile has the same effect. If that smile stays in place any longer, Nadia's bouquet would've have fallen on the ground if it had flew this way. Are you kidding me? The bouquet toss with the bungy rope now looks like a very bad idea because Holly's toss was so bad, it landed on Will who is standing far off to the side to take pictures. Even Anthony seems shocked to the point where he no longer is smiling and instead stood frozen with his jaws dropped. He's not one that believes in God but does he believe in fate? Faith wouldn't still be here if he didn't ask her to. Will wouldn't be like this if he didn't allow her to go to the Underground chamber. Two bouquets, caught by the two who have been spending a lot of time together. If that's not fate, then what is? Sorry. Anthony. She wouldn't choose you anyway. It is odd though. But Will is no longer the same Will and no one understands Will better than Faith. They do look good together. There's nothing more comfortable than being with someone that they already know a lot about. And there's nothing more annoying than being glared at by a guest who was invited by someone else. Lucy followed after her arm is held onto as long as Anthony doesn't. He's not. He doesn't seem to care so he must be making his move on Brooke. "Where are you going?" This is far enough. No one else will be able to hear.

"Tell me the truth."

"I did. I was trying to change your mind. I wasn't-"

"I meant Faith. How long have they been together?"

Ohh. It must be the hugging earlier. But they're not together, are they? They're doing a pretty good job hiding it if they are. "I don't know."

"Does she know about his condition?"

"mhmm"

"addiction?"

"What addiction?" What? Medication is necessary. It's not an addiction.

"Does she know about his past?"

"mhm, yup" Lucy quickly realized that wasn't good enough after Brie continued with the questions. Does she know about Hope? Does she know what Hope used to do? Does she know why we moved here? Her concern is understood but there's no need to worry. "She knows everything."

"Does she know about Noel?"

Okay. Everything is an exaggeration. "Who?"

"You can't lie to her. That's not right."

Lucy quickly held onto Brie's forearm to stop her since she's not sure what Brie is planning to do. It's not lying. It's information that is irrelevant. Faith can't know everything. Besides, "That's the past. If he wants her to know, he should be the one to tell her."

"You mean like you? You never told me. If you had, I wouldn't have nightmares, over and over and over again."

Ow. Lucy took steps backwards before the pressure from Brie's finger tip creates a bruise on her chest. "sorry" Lucy apologized again even though she doesn't think Brie is telling the truth since she never said that and Will said she's been sleeping very well ever since he moved in to her house. So it's just probably dreams not nightmares. Most likely, it's good dreams too otherwise she wouldn't be doing this. More talking, poking, or a slap is expected not a hug. "mm, what you doin?"

"Is he looking?"

Ohh. This is one way to get Will's attention but is this necessary? "mhmm"

"Is he coming over?"

"mmm, nope"

"What do you think he would do if I kiss you now?"

That's smart but she sucks at hiding her true intention. "You know, it's not too late. I don't think they're together, not yet. But after today, that might change." Lucy didn't have to pull away from the hug since Brie did. But what's that look for? Why is she looking like she has no clue what I'm talking about?

"For someone who has no idea what her used-to-be wife is thinking, you really should not be giving advice."

How the heck did she. She seems to know what Will will do too. Her plan worked. Will is coming. Brie is coming back. Why?

"I think you should know. I really don't want to see her get hurt. She was right there. She saw us. So I suggest you start by telling her about that night. It's not too late. But after today, that might change because the guy she was with, I heard he's looking and he seems to be very interested in her."

How the heck. Amy is no longer there. Was that a coincidence? Now it seems like the hug was for Amy to see not just Will. Where is she? This is one problem with big houses. It would be impossible to find someone if that person doesn't want to be found. A phone call would be faster. That is, if she picks up. "Hey" She picked up so that's good. She can't talk right now. That's not good. She's on the phone with Alexis? Oh. She must be telling Alexis about the wedding and Alexis must be agreeing with her. A surprise wedding! Are you serious! That's probably what she said. But if she sees this setup, the decorations, and this spectacular view, she would agree that this is better than being indoors of a fancy hotel. Night time would be even more romantic. Will would be even more busy taking pictures and Nadia would have a hard time choosing which one to put on a frame.

It would've been if the newlyweds didn't want to go home before the sun sets! Not everything worked out as planned but at least, Amy is here. Who knew all it took was Holly and Nadia to get married to get her to move in? It would be weird to be sleeping next to the newlywed's bedroom on their wedding night. This isn't how she pictured Amy to be watching the sunset but close enough. This view isn't as stunning as watching it from Anthony's place but good enough. Lucy tossed the clothing into the laundry basket before moving closer to hold onto Amy's waist from behind. mmm. It has been a long few months but just like she thought, there's nothing to worry about. Amy just needed time. It's fine. Lucy placed another kiss on Amy's shoulder until she heard:

"Whose idea was it?"

Still upset about the surprise? What's the big deal? It's not a good idea to respond with this so Lucy kept this thought to herself and instead explained how it started. "They were planning to surprise everyone." That's what Holly said. But they haven't set a date since Nadia wanted everyone to be here especially Ethan and Alec. Then after months sleeping in separate bedrooms, Nadia wanted to ditch the plans and just get married without a wedding which Holly didn't agreed to. That's why Holly asked for help. The initial plan was to use video but Scud agreed that a year of waiting to see if they're being followed is long enough. "So I thought why not surprise Nadia too."

"I meant Grace. Did she ask you for help or did you volunteer?"

Oh. Alexis must have found out. "She didn't. I found out. I couldn't just ignore it." If she wants someone to blame, then blame me. Grace did ask but it's not her fault. There was nothing to do. Staying at home to avoid the virus was boring and leading to frustration and insanity. "What?" Why is she looking like she's confused?

"Have you talked to Grace recently?"

"No. Why? What happened?"

Grace must not have told her. Grace wouldn't. Grace knows Lucy would blame herself. It's not Lucy's fault but the apartment that Grace was living in was her idea. There's nothing wrong with the apartment but like every apartment complex even in a nice neighborhood, it would be difficult to prevent intruders. In this case, the intruder's intention wasn't to steal but to kill Grace and burn down the apartment complex to destroy evidence. At least, that's what Alexis thinks after finding out that Grace wasn't there to take courses but was actually working undercover. Lucy didn't go to Grace everyday and night dressed as a man just to talk or show her how to break out of handcuffs and plastic ties but also to stake out a couple suspected of committing bribery and fraud, according to Alexis. If Grace didn't tell her what happened, then there's no need to tell her. She'll probably find out later anyway. This is more important. "She wants to know how to get Grace to quit her job."

"They're still together?" Well, that's odd. Ethan didn't say that, although he did say he's not sure. "Tell her to find someone else."

"I did" Amy said, noticing the confusion on Lucy's face. "You're right. They're not right for her." There's the cocky grin. If she had said neither Alexis or Ethan would be right for Grace because of her job, then it would've made more sense. But instead, she made it sound like she doesn't want anyone to be with Grace. So that's her fault. Even Alexis thought that. "She's not going to give up." Amy said, wondering why Lucy is going to bed, acting like she doesn't care now.

"Tell her to keep trying, then she will."

Keep trying? Persistence can become annoying. When that happens, Grace might break it off. Then Alexis won't have a choice. That could work but would Alexis give up? It was sad to find out that Ethan failed. It was surprising to hear that Alexis succeeded. But it was more shocking to hear how she got Grace to go out with her months ago since she never mentioned it until today. It wasn't just her persistence. It wasn't her charm, her looks, or her outgoing attitude. It was because she had the guts to ignore the police's orders when others stood to watch. It was because she had the courage to go into the burning building to check on Grace while knowing how dangerous it was. She did because there was no reason for Grace to ignore her call when they just had a conversation half an hour ago. The only reason would be because Grace is unable to. That's what she thought. Thank goodness Grace called her back before she went inside. Thank goodness Grace wasn't in her apartment, sleeping like she said. Lying about her location and what she was doing almost got Alexis in trouble. This time, she's lucky. The next time, she might not be. "Can you try talking to Grace?" Amy asked after slipping into bed.

"Why should I?" Lucy said, quickly regretting it after getting a glare. "She didn't pick Ethan. She's not going to be able to stand Alexis. Besides, she's not going to listen to me. She loves her job."

"You got me to quit, so I'm sure you can think of a way."

"Hah" That's funny. But it looks like that's not meant to be funny. Amy looks serious. So what's that supposed to mean? Lucy didn't ask because that would be a really dumb question. Kidnapping her was wrong. Getting her in trouble was not the intention but could not be avoided. None of this would happen if that didn't happen. Is that what she's thinking? Lucy shifts closer since she wants to see those hazel green eyes more clearly and to say this: "You quit because you didn't love your job. You quit because you love me." Those eyes are moving but with the small amount of lighting from the fading sun, it's difficult to tell what she's thinking. "I quit because I love you. And I would do it again." Say you would too. Say it. Say it. No? That's disappointing but that's okay. She should get it now. But just in case she doesn't, "Would Alexis quit for her?" It's not a stupid question. Any job can be dangerous but that's not the point. "I don't think she will." Alexis would never give up fashion design. Creating her own brand has been her goal. She loves Grace but how much? "Ask her. But before you do, want to make a bet?" What? Amy just rolled her eyes. Afraid of losing or not willing to change yet? Oh well. It didn't work but that's okay. She's not expecting anything to happen tonight anyway since her body is a bit sore and her palms have minor scratches from moving things around. Amy wouldn't allow it anyway since noises outside can now be heard. Faith and CJ just came back. Not everything worked as planned but at least, she's allowed to give her a good night kiss and move closer to a cuddling position so today is turning out better than expected. The sun has already set. It's dark out now but tomorrow is looking better already.

That's what she thought until 11 hours later.

"Oh fuck" Amy would have something to say about that if she's here since she always hates her cursing. Lucy quickly reached for the phone until she heard the knock on the door. Amy. Lucy quickly headed for the door without the phone, then realized the mind isn't fully awake after opening the door because Amy wouldn't be knocking.

"Hey"

"Is she downstairs?" Oops. Faith is not supposed to know. Too late. But it's good to know that she saw Amy left with a smile. Amy has always been an early riser but not early enough to prevent Faith from knowing that she slept over last night.

"you okay?"

Faith must have drank a lot last night. Either that or she needs her eyes checked or stopped being so sensitive. Everybody looks like crap in the morning. "Fine" Lucy proceeded towards the bathroom until she heard:

"I can't help you if you don't tell me the truth."

"What?"

"No one is going to believe you."

"What?" Lucy asked again in a more irritated tone since she's tired, sore, and bloated.

"Did you scratch yourself again?"

Lucy wished she had woken up earlier because then she would know how badly she looks before Faith does. Oh crap. "I think I caught something."

"No one's going to believe you."

"It's itchy, from yesterday."

"That's not NORMAL."

"sshh" Lucy said even if Amy isn't here but CJ could be.

"No one else is here." Last night, she didn't think there's anyone in her bedroom until she woke up this morning to go to the bathroom. "She did that?" Confirming is necessary since what she saw an hour ago looked like someone who just made up with her lover but didn't want anyone else to know. She was in a hurry to go back to her side. There was nothing strange about it but now there is. First time is a black eye and scratches. This time is on the neck. This is not good. Living separately is to see if it would help. But this doesn't prove that it doesn't. In fact, this proves that it does since nothing happened in the last five months. "I think you should give it more time!" Faith said loudly since the bathroom door is closed and water is running. "I know it's been a long time but I know what can help!" She didn't like the idea before but she should know it'll work. It did for her. "Meditation" Faith said after the door opened, then quickly added "Not you, her" after noticing her look of confusion. "I told her this before. This will help with the aneurysm too…"

Lucy continued to go into the bedroom to get dressed but even with the door shut, she can still hear Faith. Oh shoot. It's 10? There goes the morning plans. Bryan must be wondering if they have to take down the tent themselves. Putting it up was difficult. Taking it down would be easier but the more help, the better. Everything can wait if the weather is as nice as yesterday. Looks like it's going to be another sunny day but weather here is unpredictable. Oh shit. Everyone is unpredictable today too. Nadia didn't oversleep. Anthony didn't either. Man, he's nosy. It was just a hug. Is he interested in Brie or Brooke? Lucy decided not to respond to Anthony's message since it's more important to go see Amy.

"Slow down!"

Lucy takes the foot off the gas since it's the only way to stop Faith from saying that again. Did she have an accident before? It's not even that fast. It's just a little over the speed limit 75mph and other cars are driving even faster. Either that or she likes to do everything slowly. Why else would she be talking about the effects of eating too fast?

"…you'll swallow more air. That causes bloating and gas. Don't think it's not serious. If you consistently do that, you'll get heartburn, high blood pressure, increase blood sugar, then you could get diabetes…"

It's just today, not all the time. The advice is appreciated but no need to say it again and definitely no need to continue with the trial. Five months is long enough. So it's time to end this. But without Faith's help, it might not be so easy since Amy has been listening to her. And without knowing what happened, Faith is not going to agree. So here goes.

"Have you ever been with anyone?" That is a personal question. Is there a need to think about it?

"There was this guy. He's nice, very good looking. We went out on the Fourth of July to see the fireworks. It was our first date, my first time meeting his family too. None of his family wanted to go so it was just us, in this huge park with hundreds of people…"

Here she goes again. It's a simple question yet the answer is not so simple. There's no need to cut her off though since the destination is 15 minutes away. She must have a point to make. Sometimes, she does that. Sometimes, she comes up with the right words that made the problem seem less of a problem. That's what Will said about her. Lady of wisdom. That's what Will calls her sometimes. But it seems that this time, there is no point to the story other than she regretted going out with him. "Ssso, you didn't sleep with him or was sex that bad?" Lucy kept her eyes on the road since there's no need to look at her face to know that she is offended. The radio is on. It's difficult to listen while driving 75mph at the same time. No need to shout 'I don't do that!' Some do that on the first date. Is that the point of the story? She doesn't do one-night stands. Regardless, she needs to know this. "That's weird. Huge red flag. Huge. A decent man would not buy you a pair of earrings on the first date."

"It's not diamond."

"Doesn't matter. If he gives you something, then he expects something in return. And no normal person would bring their first date to meet their parents."

"His parents weren't there, just aunt and cousins"

"Doesn't matter. That's creepy. They could've done something to you and you wouldn't have a chance. Never go on a date alone with anyone you've only met once."

"I know that. He's not like that. He's a nice guy."

"How do you know? What's he doing now? Is he married?" No answer is given so that could mean she doesn't know. Maybe he's happily married and now she's regretting it. "It's his loss, not yours." Lucy continued to keep her eyes on the road after taking a quick glance at Faith. Getting no comment back, she decided not to continue since Faith is looking like she's no longer in the mood to talk. At least, this proves that she and Will have nothing going on. Or maybe she's comparing that guy with Will. That's not good if it is. That's not good if Will has feelings for her. It's not going to end well. Maybe Anthony is right about them.

But he's definitely wrong about this place. It's beautiful but it's too damn big. This driveway is so long. This ride is longer than expected too. Faith must think so too since she's again talking about that guy as soon as the car engine is turned off.

"He was shy. He didn't say much. If I had given him a second chance, I would know what he's really like. Just like she didn't know about you. So now she needs time to process, to see who you really are."

Just like Will said, sometimes it's difficult to understand what Faith's intention is. She could have just said that without mentioning her boring date. But she has a point. But more time means more time for Amy to think. More time means more choices. "I understand but trial separation leads to separation. She will leave me. Is that what you want?" That's mean. That's wrong. Faith doesn't deserve that but showing frustration may be the only way to get her to reconsider.

"I get it but"

"Then just do it. Pleeease." Lucy hoped that would work since Faith isn't one who can easily be persuaded when she knows she's right.

"She's not going to listen to me. She's going to want to know how you got that. What are you going to say?"

"It's itchy. Really. It is." This is the problem with having outdoor weddings. There are many insects and things that aren't visible to the naked eye. Lucy got off the car before telling Faith how she once woke up with needle-like pain in her back and shoulder and didn't know there was a bee under her pajamas until she took it off. It's a true story but Faith probably won't believe it. She doesn't need to know the truth. It's personal and she might not be able to keep it to herself. She's smart but anyone can slip. Anyone including the fit, nice guy Ethan. Uh oh. Lucy moved closer to assist since he's still sitting on the granite walkway and looking at his palm. "You all right?" He must be fine. That's a big smile. He's not the only one. "What are they doing?" In the message, Nadia said she's going to be here but she didn't say she's here to help take down the setup. More people would get it down faster but this is not a task for the newlyweds. Don't they want to look at the pictures instead? They do look like they're having fun. Weird. Who's also weird is Will. "You should clean that up. Could get an infection." Faith is smart and notices things that others don't but not this time. "Let her help. She's a nurse." That's in case he doesn't know. Faith might not know why but she's doing as told. It's because Ethan is looking like he wants to ask about the bandage and Will was waving. That's the sign for hurry up. Okay. I'm coming. This is a big yard. It would be faster to use the phone to communicate. So there must be a reason why Will chose not to use it. "What happened?"

"What happened to you?"

"bee sting" Okay. This is looking more and more like a stupid excuse. Why is that hard to believe though? Scratching it would make it worse. Will should know better than anyone since he has many scars. He should know a scratch could become a scar if not taken care of properly. He should also know not to invite Brie here! Why is she here again? The truth is out but a heads-up is still necessary. Ohh crap. Guess the Pesticide Yard Control/Do not enter sign didn't work. There goes the plan. No wonder Will led the way without saying anything. There's nothing he can say to make this situation better. "Can you make sure no one else is coming?" This is a big area but getting some privacy is difficult. Besides, Will can't hear this. Ohh. This is not good. Brie is coming. This is not the right time.

"What happened to you?"

"What you doing here?" It's rude to ignore her question but she should know why.

"That's very nice. Did you do that all by yourself?"

Getting a compliment is good to hear but that doesn't mean she hasn't told Amy. "Does she know?"

"She asked." Brie shrugged.

Ohh crap. Sometimes things don't turn out as planned but the outcome does. This time may be different.

"It's fine. Now go kneel before she runs out of patience."

She's beginning to sound more and more like Anthony. Amy does look like she's running out of patience. There's no smile. How long has she been standing here? There's confusion too so she's definitely waiting for an explanation. "I"

"What happened?"

"something bit me, it's fine, just itchy" Lucy quickly moved away not just to avoid the topic but also to get the roses from where she had left it last night. This still looks fresh. "I was planning to show you yesterday when the sun sets." That was the plan until Amy wanted to go home too after the newlyweds decided not to stick around to see the sunset. "let me show you" Seeing this from the balcony would be more beautiful than from here, if Amy is willing to follow.

"So you didn't order too much by mistake?"

How did she. Ethan. No wonder his behavior seemed strange a moment ago. He's not the clumsy type. He must have found out about this but didn't realize what this is for until he showed it to her. This would explain why she thinks that this is created because of a mistake of over-ordering. "It's not like that. I wanted to"

"because Janet told you what I said"

"nnno, I mean, it's not like that" No excuse would explain this so there's only one thing to do. Kneel. But even before the knee touches the ground, the answer can be heard. It's not a no but don't means the same thing. "Amy-"

"I said Don't."

Kneeling didn't work. Would confession make it worse? Lucy quickly picked up the knee off the ground since Amy is walking away. Confession won't work but like Brie said, start with the truth. "Nothing happened. I was trying to change her mind." Lucy immediately stopped since Amy suddenly did. "I was just" Nothing is turning out as expected. Last night, the head was held firmly between 2 strong legs. Now, it's sandwiched between 2 strong hands.

"Once is enough. I don't want it. I don't need it. I just need more time. Okay?"

This time, the ears aren't blocked. This time, those hazel green eyes can be seen clearly but the brain needs a moment to understand. Lucy nodded multiple times, then let Amy get back to doing what she wants without following since persistence is only going to make the situation worse. The outcome is different from the way she imagined it but that's better than a no. This didn't seem like a stupid idea when she got the idea yesterday.

~1 hour later

But now it does. "This doesn't work." Lucy said after pressing the button multiple times from the balcony. Each light should appear one by one. Each character would then be visible. All the lights surrounding the characters would then flash in synchronization. It worked last night. Now it doesn't.

"She said no. Why are you still trying?"

Sometimes Anthony is very understanding. Sometimes, he's an ass. That's not 'I told you so' but it means the same. "She didn't say no. She doesn't need another proposal. We're already married." That's to let him know he was wrong.

"So everything's okay?"

"Everything's fine, except this stupid thing." Lucy said as she pointed the remote in different directions until she noticed where he's looking at. There's no way he can see what the issue is from up here. Lights are covered by the artificial flowers and grass.

"Did you make sure everything's plugged in?"

"Who unplugged it?" Lucy asked but didn't get an answer and only got a confused stare as if to say that's a stupid question. It's not a stupid question. It's not supposed to be unplugged. Maybe Amy did? She did say Don't more than once.

"When are you going to clean that up? It's going to rain."

No, it's not. The sun is out. It's not as bright as an hour ago but there's no chance of rain. It's not humid. It is warmer in the city but not here with the waterview. "fine" For someone who has a difficult time finding love, it must be bothering him. Lucy proceeded towards the exit with the control since she wants to see if it would work downstairs until she got another question, one that he shouldn't have asked unless he heard. No one was around except for Will and Brie but they were standing far away so they couldn't have heard. There are cameras outside. But if he caught the whole thing, why still ask?

"I was wrong."

He must have heard since he has that same look again like he knows something but is not sure if he should say it just like that time in Paris when he hid Brooke's identity.

"I would've done the same thing."

Lucy waited and waited for him to continue, then waited long enough to know that was it. "What?" Is he talking about the proposal?

"Aria, Adalyn, Ezz, Katya, the doctor, what's going to happen if she knows about…the others?"

Just like before, a moment is needed. But this time, she's not waiting for him to continue. This time, she didn't ask for clarification because her heart is pounding and because she's afraid to ask. The hesitation on the last two words seemed deliberate. It was a warning. But what does he mean? Does he mean the others or does he mean he knows about the megastar? If he knows, then Amy…ohh crap.

"Sometimes giving up takes courage. Sometimes giving up is the only way to find it."

What the hell is he talking about? Lucy exited the room without asking or confirming since there's no need to. If he knows, then he knows. If he doesn't know, then more questions would only let him think that he's right.

"Wait"

He can talk all he wants but he should know he's not getting any information. It seems that he does since he's talking about the past again. The past cannot be changed. That's what he said before. Having regrets is normal but regretting to have hooked up with numerous women isn't going to change anything. It certainly won't change Faith's feelings for him. At least, he knows it's time to move on. But what does he mean he wants to change his identity. Faking death would be easy. Giving up the life that he has now could be the only way to find love. But did he forget why he can't? It seems that he has since he's talking like a prisoner who has finally finished serving time. To be able to go anywhere without worrying about getting recognized is a good feeling but even if nobody here recognizes him, even if the world is in chaos, millions have died, his past is old news, and no one has tried to kill him other than his ex, that doesn't mean everyone will believe he's dead. Lucy quickly hold him back from going down the staircase since others can't hear this and he seems to have made up his mind. "They'll start looking for you once you start selling your assets. And what's going to happen to your workers? They'll go after them to find out where you are." It's not impossible so why is he looking like that's another stupid question.

"I thought you're my friend."

"I am. That's why I'm telling you what will happen."

"So you want me to be alone for the rest of my life?"

"Nnno." He's lonely. That's why he said that. Everyone around him has found someone. That's why he's acting this way. He almost got killed by his ex. That's why he has decided. He found out. That's why he's using his situation to make his point. "You're not serious." Yes he is. Lucy quickly followed since this is more important than cleaning-up. "c'mon man, don't do this" Nothing is coming up to get him to change his mind. "Can we just talk about this?"

"I'm trying to help you."

"Well don't. It's none of your biz." Lucy realized that worked since it got him to stop walking.

"Well, that hurts. After everything I did for you. You're a really lousy friend."

"oh c'monnn." Oh crap. He's not joking. Since when did he become so sensitive. Now he's really going to do it. "I'm sorry. That's not what I meant." This is not working. "We're having a baby." Lucy said since that's all she could come up with.

"She's pregnant?"

"will be, soon, it didn't work the first time so we're going to try again, it's not that easy, you know, wait" Damn it. Lying didn't work. The truth won't either. Maybe begging will? Lucy was about to until the noise from the entertainment room got even louder. CJ's laughter can be heard. Nadia's disappointment can be too. That's one long…what, the heck.

"You see what I see now."

No. They're just having fun. That's all. Winning is a good feeling. It's just a high-five, not a hug. They do look like a couple though. A stranger would think so but there are no strangers here besides Brie and she looks pissed. Why? Did she bet on Nadia and Holly?

"you see that?"

Very clearly. Amy is whispering into Ethan's ear like she's

"wait here, I'll find out"

What? No. Lucy tried but failed to prevent him from going inside. Following isn't going to stop him. Besides, he's not going to do it. Everybody is having fun. He's going to wait until the party is over. He's just going to find out what they're talking about. That's all. He's not going to do it. He's not. Uh oh. Amy is no longer smiling. That's not a good sign. She's coming. Oh crap. Lucy quickly walked away from the entertainment room since it would be better to talk outside. The car would've been a good place but okay, the bathroom is good too. Lucy followed without pulling her arm away from Amy's grasp. No one needs to hear this.

"You told him I'm pregnant?"

"What? Nnno. I didn't say that. I said will, future. Misunderstanding." He might not have done it but he obviously did this to see if he's right. Not everything is fine.

"I told you I need more time."

"I know. Take all the time you need." Lucy said even though that's not what she wanted to say but only did so because Amy just exhaled an exhausted breath. "Want to go home?"

"Nnno, I want to have fun. You just ruined it."

"I, sorry" Apologizing would be better than explaining since it will probably get Amy even more upset.

"Just go back in there, have fun or act like you are"

That's not easy to do. Lucy nodded multiple times anyway since it's the only way to reverse that upside down smile which didn't work. What made it even worse is CJ who's standing outside the door. Did she hear? Whether she did or not, Amy obviously doesn't want any input or help in explaining this situation since she closed the bathroom after exiting. That's fine. Have to go anyway.

"What's that about?" CJ asked, expecting to get a better response than 'nothing' from the former agent who's not very good at lying at this moment. "You know, there are 8 bedrooms in this place. Any one of them would be more comfortable than the cold tile floors."

"haha" Amy said, then added. "That's not funny." It would be if she's talking about someone else. At least, CJ is having fun.

"So you're letting her move back in?"

"No. What's up with you and Bryan?" Amy asked to pivot the topic. It's also to let her know if she doesn't stop asking those type of questions, she will get the same questions back. It seems that she doesn't care and more than eager to share. He proposed? "How?" How is not important. Where isn't either but it would get CJ to stop asking about Lucy and continue to talk about herself. There's no need to ask if she accepted the proposal. She's on cloud nine. "When?" When is important because it's to find out who came up with this idea. Bryan or Lucy.

"last night, he brought me up here because he said this room has the best view. He showed me where he saw the shooting star. So I looked up and there it was, down there, each light lit up one by one. I didn't know what it was until the entire word appeared. It's obvious now but without the lights, couldn't see the heart around it, you see it? right there at 11, 1, 5"

"I see" Amy continued to look down, tracing the stack of flowers in clockwise direction. It is difficult to tell. No one would be able to make out the heart or the words 'marry me' from up here or down there unless they took the time to study it. In this case, Brie did. Kato found it. The disorganization of the flowers was what caught her attention along with Kato running around. For someone who's interested in abstract art, she was able to see the pattern on the ground. Ethan didn't nor did he know who it was for but knew where the flowers came from and that was enough for Brie to confirm that she was right. "Very unique" Amy held the urge to ask another question since it would probably cause CJ to think differently of Bryan. Besides, whoever's idea this is doesn't matter. What matters is how well she knows Bryan. "So, you've decided?" That's obvious but maybe she's getting engaged first.

"He's changed. I mean. He still has flaws but no one's perfect. He's far from perfect. Believe me. Don't tell him I said that." CJ chuckled before continuing.

No wonder she's been smiling all day. It's not just because she got Nadia to cook for a whole month after winning the bet. No wonder she didn't tell anyone else. It's not just because it's not appropriate to do so right after Nadia and Holly's wedding. It's also because it's too early and no plans have been made. No wonder she decided to talk about this now. It's not just because she noticed what happened a moment ago. It's because she realized she was wrong about Lucy? "What?"

"I shouldn't have told you to leave her. You were right. I can see why you love her."

"Did you have a lot to drink?" The pina colada was made by Ethan so unless she put stuff in there herself, this would explain her illogical babbling. She was the one who said there's something going on between Lucy and Adalyn and Brie. Then her perception changed after Will got better. She supported the living arrangement even though she doesn't know why. Now, she's apologizing for expressing her opinion?

"I was wrong about Blake too. You were right."

What happened? She never apologized for assuming that Blake was a spy. A little alcohol shouldn't have that effect. A proposal shouldn't either. What's going on? Why is everyone behaving abnormally? First, Ethan. Then Anthony. Then CJ. And now, Faith? Is there a full moon?

-Hours later-

There's no full moon. There's rain. It's light rain now but it could be pouring later. But that's not going to stop Faith from wanting her questions answered. She's still standing here, waiting.

"c'mon, you promised"

She doesn't look like she's lying either. She didn't deny that it was Will who brought her home last night, not that she could since CJ said the proposal occurred around the same time. 'Nothing happened' seemed like a lie though. But is there a reason to lie when she already confessed to having a moment of uncontrollable sexual desire with Will during one of the massage sessions? It doesn't sound impossible since Will is no longer the same person. Will has become more attractive especially with the muscular physique and beard, looking more and more like he should have been born a male. Many has fallen in love with the one they cared for. There's nothing wrong with that, nothing to be embarrassed about and no reason to keep it from anyone other than being too soon. With her knowledge in multiple areas, she could've easily come up with another explanation or deny it so to hear that her attraction for Will was a result of the techniques that she used as an experiment to help with Will's condition is surprising. It did sound like another lie until she said she found out that Will can feel, just not everywhere and not the way normal people can. No proof is provided to back up her theory since no one has use this method before, not that she know of. The brain is too complex to understand how it works. That's true. Kissing and touching in the right areas can stimulate it like cocaine and heroine. That's true too. It is a good feeling. It sounds like it could work. Is there a reason for her to lie? "Nothing happened." Amy used the same words while knowing that Faith won't believe it.

"Then it worked. She can move back, not sleeping in the same room. I mean. One step at a time. See how it goes first."

And there it is. That's the reason she's lying. If she had admitted to having slept with Will last night, that would've been more believable. "What did she say to you?"

"Nothing. That's why I'm asking you."

"You're stuttering."

"No I'm not."

"You're right. You're not but you've always been very confident and now you're not." Amy kept her eyes on those confused brown eyes until she got the same suggestion as before. Five months is enough. Meditation will help. Blah, blah, blah. "Let me tell you how I know." Amy interrupted, then got off the bed. "Ethan was acting strange. He never complimented her on anything but he did yesterday. Anthony is not on her side, surprising, he encouraged this separation and even suggested that I should hook up with someone else. And CJ, she has always supported me but today, she took back all the bad things she said about her because she said she doesn't know enough about her to judge her and she's been wrong many times. And you, you suggested this living arrangement. Now all of a sudden, you want to end this. So, is this her idea?" Speechless? There's the look of defeat.

"I don't agree with her."

Finally!

"But now, I can see why she's afraid you would leave her." It could be nothing but the way she laughed and smiled at Ethan when he was dancing with Zander yesterday showed that she's attracted to him. The way she interacted with Ethan before and after winning the game of pool against the newlyweds showed that they have chemistry. Playing by themselves with no one else around with the door opened showed that she had nothing to hide but also showed that she was having fun. Was that done on purpose to make her partner feel the same way she does? It would've worked if her partner was there but she wasn't. So there's only one other reason. Her feelings has started to change. "Are you attracted to him?" It's not a yes or no so there must be some sparks. Looking outside is one way to hide how she feels. "It's perfectly normal. I get it. You want to forget. But think about this before you do anything. We all have a past. I'm not saying the past doesn't matter. But you weren't there. You don't know why she did what she did. You don't know what she was feeling. But you know what she was like when you fell in love with her. What has changed?" Faith paused, hoping that she would get a response but knew that the possibility is slim. (sigh) "That's all I'm going to say. Good night."

Finally. Amy kept her eyes at the night sky since there's no need to turn around to look at the door to know that Faith finally left. Ignoring her questions is the only way. What happened last night is none of her business. She can't help. No one can. She gets it but she doesn't know how it feels, how hard it is to see her in the same way. Everyone has a past but knowing about her past isn't the same as knowing how many there were and who they are. What has changed? Alot. "You too would feel like this if you know-"

"I know." Faith said without apologizing for rudely entering without knocking first. "I know why."

"What?" Amy asked. For a moment there, she thought Faith had been standing outside, eavesdropping. Why is she panting? Faith is in good shape but she's not a jogger. Faith is not a talker but she is a storyteller when she has a point to make. Sometimes it's interesting like the songs she's written. Sometimes it's slow and boring like now and it's not because she's trying to catch her breath. It could be because she's not certain since she's asking questions again. "just tell me"

"Don't freak out. Okay?" This is a sensitive matter but there's no nice way to say it without freaking her out other than to say it in the form of another question. "Have you ever heard of sleepwalking?" Most people has but not everyone believes in "sleepwalking killer?"
