Chapter 2 Advice from the Dads

Bennet's POV

I was reciting my poem in front of my dads.

When I was done, they broke out into a loud applause.

I smiled nervously as I rubbed the back of my neck.

"That was so beautiful, Bennet", one of my dads stated as he wiped away a tear.

"Who knew that our son was such a poet", another one of my dads asked.

"Who knew that our son was such a little Romeo", another one of my dads asked as he put his arm around my shoulder.

"So", another one of my dads started. "What did Fischl say after you read her the poem?"

"She asked me why I had written her the poem", I started. "So I told her that I thought she was cool."

"And what did she say after that", one of my dads asked.

"She…", I started, before realising something. "Actually, now that I think about it. I don't think that Fischl actually said anything else after that."

"Oh dear", one of my dads said.

"So", I started. "What do you guys think I should do now?"

"Perhaps you should go back to Fischl and ask her what her feelings for you are", one of my dads suggested.

"No no no", another one of my dads replied. "You can't do that Bennet! You must play hard to get! Don't let her know how much you like her!"

"That's ridiculous", another one of my dad's stated. "She may end up thinking that he doesn't like her at all!"

"Alright", one of my dads started as he broke the other two up. "Calm down you two."

After my dad said this, he looked at me.

"Why don't you ask Fischl to go on an adventure with you", he suggested. "Then, pay close attention to how she's acting to see how she feels about you."

"That's…actually a good idea", I stated. "Expect, is going on an adventure with Fischl really a good idea? I mean, what if my bad luck ends up getting her in trouble? Or worse, what if she ends up hurt because of me?"

"Bennet", one of my dads started as he put his hand on my shoulder. "You want to pursue a relationship with this girl, don't you?"

"Yeah", I replied.

"Then you have to be brave and take a chance, my boy!"

After my dad said this, I began to think it over.

"You know what", I started. "You're absolutely right, dad! Even with my bad luck, I've gotta give this a shot!"

Fischl's POV

I was lying in bed, staring at Bennet's poem.

"Mein Fräulein", Oz started. "Don't tell me that you actually have feelings for this boy?"

"Why do you speak as that is an issue, Oz", I asked.

"I just wonder", Oz started. "Is that boy really worthy of being with the Prinzessin?"

"Oz", I started. "It is only I who can decide who is worthy of being with me or not."
