Chapter 3

"So cool!" After meeting up with Acier, and her 4 children after the exam had ended, the 5 Silvas had led Asta to their house. Which was indeed, the Silver Eagles HQ. Upon entering the house, Asta's eyes instantly became starry upon seeing the luxurious exterior. The interior however...was even more fascinating to look at. Especially considering that Asta grew up in Hage Village for pretty much his whole life. "I never would have thought that House Silva was this big!"

"It is quite big." Acier remarked. "But do not worry. I'll be making sure you get a tour of my house, or HQ for our squad so you know where everything is when you need it. Alright Asta?"

"That'd be great, thank you Mrs. Silva!" Asta grinned enthusiastically. Despite his enthusiasm, Solid just scowled in irritation.

"Mother doesn't have time to give you a tour, commoner." Solid told Asta haughtily. "And refer to her as Captain."

"Asta can call me whatever he wants to." Acier replied. "He is a family friend, after all. Isn't he, Nozel?"

"While that is true Mother," Nozel began. "Solid is also right in saying that Asta should call you Captain."

"I suppose." Acier agreed, albeit reluctantly.

"Captain!" Nozel, 3 younger his siblings, and Ast turn to face the approaching light purple-haired woman, wearing earrings, pink eyes, light brown boots as her footwear, as well as wearing the cloak of the Silver Eagles.

"Courtney." Acier greeted. "Meet our newest recruit, Asta."

"Hello!" Asta greeted cheerfully.

"I would have been at the Entrance Exam, but I had to get some of our other members back from missions." Courtney explained. Acier, to Courtney's surprise, brushed the apology aside.

"It's okay Courtney." Acier replied. "Now, I have paperwork to finish up. Why don't you give Asta a tour of the place? I'll be done in a couple hours."

"Alright Captain." Courtney spoke before turning to Asta. "Alright Asta, I'm going to show you around."

"You better not go into my room Courtney!" Solid warned. Courtney rolled her eyes in irritation.

"Yes yes Solid, I know." She retorted. "No need to remind me every time we get a new member."

After Nozel, Nebra, Solid, and Noelle left the area, Courtney led Asta through the massive mansion-sized house. Asta was excited the whole time as Courtney showed him each room that held the most importance to his experience as a Silver Eagle.

"I knew this place would be big, but this big…!" Asta breathed. "Simply amazing!"

"Yes, it is." Courtney remarked. "When Captain Acier recruited me 11 years ago, she gave me a tour of the Silver Eagles HQ. But ever since then, I've been doing the tours for the newbies. I don't mind, of course."

A couple hours pass and the 2 have made it full circle; in front of Captain Acier's office.

"This is the last stop." Courtney told Asta. "The Captain should be finishing up in a bit."

"Does the Captain need to talk to me?" Asta wondered.

"From what she told me before she went to her office, yes." Courtney replied as she turned on her heel to walk away. "Oh, and before I forget, my name is Courtney Roulacase. My younger brothers are Finral and Langris."

"Finral and Langris." Asta repeated. "One is on the Black Bulls, and the other is the Vice-Captain of the Golden Dawn."

"Correct." Courtney confirmed. "Now I have to go and get the other members that are on missions back here safely." As soon as Courtney left, Acier's office door opened.

"Ah Asta!" Acier greeted the ash blonde haired boy.

"Mrs.-I mean Captain Acier!" Asta greeted back.

"I see you just finished the tour with Courtney." Acier remarked.

"Yeah." Asta nodded. "She said you needed to talk to me about something."

"Oh! Yes! Please come in." Acier gestured for Asta to head into her office, which he did. After Asta entered the office, which he just noticed was quite big, and decorative. Acier took a seat at the desk, with Asta sitting on the other side of her desk.

"Captain, how come-" Asta began.

"Why did I want to talk to you privately?" Acier finished Asta's question. Said boy nodded.

"It's about your grimoire and sword." Acier began to explain. "You see, there are more than 1 sword than just the Demon-Slayer Sword."

"There is?" Asta questioned.

"Yes." Acier nodded. "You see, the Silvas have a connection to your grimoire, Asta. Not just that, but the one who used it. Your grimoire is actually the grimoire of the Leader of the Elf Tribe, Licht. Unfortunately, since it was a 4 leaf clover grimoire, and Licht fell into deep despair, his 4 leaf turned into a 5 leaf, which is associated with devils."

"Ehhhh?!" Asta gaped. "So that's why the grimoire has Anti-Magic then?! Because a devil lives within it?!"

"That is right." Acier confirmed. "The devil inside Licht's former grimoire is the Anti-Magic Devil. Hence why you can use Anti-Magic."

"But wait!" Asta spoke up. "If it's a clover grimoire, then shouldn't it have disappeared after Licht died?"

"That normally would be the case." Acier agreed. "However, 5 leaf clover grimoires break that rule and have there own rules. Should the user of a 5 leaf clover grimoire die, the grimoire will not disappear. Instead, they will go into dormancy until a respectable owner is found. They are also known as Grimoires of Despair." Asta's mouth was agape in shock at just how much his Captain knew of the history. He eventually regained his composure after a few minutes.

"You know a lot of Clover's history." Asta remarked.

"I do." Acier spoke before frowning. "It's just a shame that Houses Silva and Vermillion accept the real facts on what happened 500 years ago."

"What do you mean?" Asta questioned.

"I mean that the Royal House of Kira has lied to the people of Clover about its history." Acier answered. "And Houses Silva and Vermillion can do nothing to change it."

"But you know the truth!" Asta shot back. "Surely you could do something!"

"Let's talk about the swords." Acier changed the topic. "For starters, like I said, there is more than 1 sword. And since my family has connections to the Elf Tribe, moreso than the Vermillions." She paused, then added. "In which case, I will teach you something that will help you in your fighting style. Considering you're on a higher ranked squad, these lessons are important. The Golden Dawn, Silver Eagles, and Crimson Lions are usually the ones to take the more dangerous missions compared to the ones like Purple Orcas or the Black Bulls. But they do occasionally get paired up with us."

"Ooooh! What are you going to teach me?!" Asta asked excitedly, stars in his eyes. Acier laughed at his enthusiasm.

"How to read ki." Acier replied.

"Ki?" Asta repeated.

"Yes. It is an energy that Yami Sukehiro learned from his home country, the land of the sun. It is also an energy martial artists use to read and predict the movements of there opponents. Yami can do it, I can do it. And so will you." She glanced at the clock on the wall, then back at Asta. "I will start you on this training come after dinner. And I will continue to train you how to read it correctly for the days to come. Depending on when you get assigned a mission."

A few hours later, Asta sat with the Silvas at their dinner table. Unfortunately, the rest of the squad, minus Courtney, weren't able to make it due to how long there missions were taking/being sent on another one after coming back a few hours ago. No rest for the strong it seems! Courtney sat next to Noelle, who was sitting next to Asta. Solid sat across from Asta, much to his annoyance. Nebra sat next to Solid, and Acier sat at the head of the table while Nozel sat at the tail end of the table. While Solid was giving Asta and angry glare every few seconds, Asta was just outright amazed by...everything in the house really. Asta chatted with Courtney about his time living in Hage Village, much to the irritation of Sold.

If me and him get put on a mission together, I'm ditching him. Solid thought. I just cannot STAND his presence! Sure Nebra tolerates it, as should I. But… Ugh! Ever since Mother saved this runt as a baby and brought him to Hage 15 years ago, things have become different. I'm not sure if it's because of Mother or the brat, but either way, I don't like him at all!

"Something wrong Solid?" Acier asked her 2nd son, snapping him out of his thoughts. The blue-eyed Silva turned to face his Mother and shook his head.

"Nothing is wrong." He replied, but it had an irritated tone. Nozel raised an eyebrow and was about to speak, but Acier spoke first.

"Solid." Acier spoke sternly. "Asta is a commoner, but he is a hard-working one. He became a Magic Knight due to this. True, usually royals don't work hard. But because of him, I've made all 4 of you work hard to become stronger." At Acier's words, Asta stopped eating and turned to face his Captain, a surprised expression on his face.

"You had your children train hard...because of me?" Asta blinked.

"That's right Asta." Acier confirmed. "But not just them."

"Me and the rest of the squad too." Courtney added.

"Mother was inspired by you, Asta." Nozel told the ash blonde boy. "As much as I hate to admit it, so was I."

"I don't know what to say." Asta chuckled. "All I can think of is that I'm glad I made a positive impression on you guys." Solid grunted in irritation, while his other 3 siblings laughed.

"Don't mention it, you brat." Nebra told Asta, but in a joking manner. "I may not like you, but I have to respect you."

The rest of dinner went pretty smoothly. After that, Acier led Asta and Courtney outside to what appeared to be a training area. Asta, of course, got instantly excited.

"Oooooh! So this is where you guys do your magic training!" Asta grinned.

"My children, yes." Acier replied. "But for you, it's going to be different. For you to learn how to read ki, I shall create steel objects with my magic and Courtney will use her Spatial Magic to launch them at you. You will have to do one of two things: 1.) Block or reflect the steel objects with your sword. Or 2.) Dodge. It's preferred that you block and/or reflect the attacks though. Dodging is great, but if you can't hit your opponent, dodging doesn't exactly help you." Asta nodded as he got out his Demon-Slayer Sword and watched Acier create some objects made from her Steel Magic.

"Ready?" Acier asked Asta, to make sure he was prepared.

"Yes ma'am!" Asta confirmed. Acier then glanced at Courtney, who nodded before opening her portals and letting her Captain's magic fly through them and towards the ash blonde boy. Asta unleashed his yelling frenzy as he swung his sword to block the steel objects. While he managed to block most of them, some of them still hit him. Now if he wasn't jacked, the impact of those steel objects would have hurt a lot more. The wind was still knocked out of him, however.

"*cough cough* How did I do?" Asta asked as he regained his breath. Acier smiled at Asta for a brief moment before frowning slightly and approached him.

"Overall, not bad." Acier told him. "You blocked 90% of them despite being new to this concept. However, you were not using your whole body. Just your eyes and ears."

"My whole body?" Asta repeated.

"Yes." Acier nodded. "If you ever want to be able to read ki correctly, that is." Asta clenched his hands around the sword and nodded.

"Let's go again!" Asta declared. Acier nodded in approval; thus creating more objects out of steel and using Courtney's portals once again to launch the steel objects at Asta. But unlike the previous times Asta has done this training, he managed to block all of the objects this time. Acier stopped her magic and approached Asta. She put her right hand on his shoulder in an approving gesture.

"I'm proud of you, Asta." Acier complimented the ash blonde-haired boy. "I know you're not my child, but I'm just so proud of the type of person you're becoming." Asta laughed at his Captain's words.

"Thanks Captain." He replied. "I always aim to do my very best!"

"As you should." Acier agreed. "Come on, we should head to bed. It's getting late."

"Right!" Both Asta and Courtney replied; thus following there Captain inside of there squad's HQ, aka, the House of SIlva.

0713MM: Hey guys! So it's been about a week or so since I posted a chapter, but here it is! Chapter 3! This chapter focused on Asta's ki training. His first mission will be next chapter. As for what, I'm not entirely sure. So I'll let you readers decide what it should be!
