Chapter 7
As soon as the girls got their supplies and uniforms for their new school, Sesshomaru seems concern through his stoic exterior. "Is something wrong, Sesshomaru?" Rin asks him. She can tell if at the slightest something bothers Sesshomaru he keeps it to himself. But not this one.
"I'll talk about it when we get home." He simply tells her before getting into their vehicle. Even the ride home was unusually quiet. No one wants to say a word because there's no telling what the outcome or reaction would be. It doesn't take the family long to arrive home.
"Girls, why don't you get yourselves cleaned up and we can have dinner." Rin tells the twins. Towa and Setsuna nod and head upstairs to their rooms.
Rin follows Sesshomaru into the office and closed the door to put a sound barrier so that no one outside of the office would hear them, even for those with a keen sense of sound.
"I have some skepticism about that meeting the twins were in." Sesshomaru starts off. Rin nods. "I may be human, but even I was able to tell that the Headmistress seems a bit off." She adds.
Sesshomaru turns on his laptop and the projector to show the footage that they gave to the twins through a hidden cameras through a pin of their two outfits but in a different design so no one would be able to tell.
As they watched the footage, Sesshomaru was spot on about a few details. "She tells them about a fake legacy." He said to her. Rin narrows her brown eyes to see if she can spot anything unusual. "She said that she's a half demon. But somehow, she doesn't look like it." She comments. Sesshomaru knows for sure that Rin was right.
"The moment she came outside of her office, there was not a scent of human, even if she's wearing a charm to make her look human." Sesshomaru points out the missing piece. Rin nods. "Maybe sending the girls to the school might be a bad idea." She said in doubt.
"Rin." Sesshomaru spoke in his usual stoic attitude. "The girls must be in an area where they feel they belong with other half demons other than themselves. We have to let them do this. We just can't tell them about this. They have to figure this out on their own."
Rin nods. "I'll go get dinner ready." She excuses herself to leave the office. Once she left, Sesshomaru sits in his exquisite leather chair rubbing his eyes. 'I hope I'm wrong about this.'
In Towa's bedroom, Towa is on her desk doing some research about the school's history about the half demons committing suicide. "Hey Sis." Setsuna enters the room and look over Towa's shoulder. "What are you doing?" She asks curiously.
"I'm trying to get information about the school. For what we found out so far doesn't seem convincing." Towa answers the question while remaining focus on the screen. Setsuna tilts her head. "Is it about what the Headmistress said to us about the half demons committing suicide?"
Towa nods. "Yeah. But there's not a single article of such. Even the newspapers don't say anything about it." She leans back in her chair.
"Maybe they don't want the press to know about it." Setsuna gives her one idea. Towa nods. "That's one reason why the town doesn't know about it. But they're half demons. They don't get the attention, not that they wanted it."
Setsuna pulls out her iPad and shows Towa a page about the Sakura Hills Trees. "It says here that a barrier keeps the trees in blossoms mode. So even if it's so cold out, the blossoms won't wither and die." She reads the one article about the trees.
Towa looks up the same page. "Not only does the barrier keeps the trees in that state, it sends out a peculiar scent that is to keep the area in a calming state, so if any negative actions were to accord the scent defuses them."
"Do you think that the scent could have a side effect?" Setsuna asks her twin. Towa holds her chin. "No idea. We need to be close by if we were to get an example of the scent."
"Girls, dinner's ready!" Rin calls to them from downstairs. "Coming!" They both said simultaneously.
Moroha is in the basement doing some martial arts moves. Inuyasha comes through the door room, giving his daughter the space she needs to practice. "Ok, Moroha, you've done enough today." He said to her. Moroha pants a few minutes after going through aggressive movements.
"What's on your mind?" Inuyasha asks her in concern. Moroha grabs her towel to wipe the sweat off her forehead. "Do you think I have what it takes to do this? It seems vague to me." She sits down on the floor crossed leg.
Inuyasha sits next to her in the same sitting position. "You're just stressed out about it. It's a common thing for teenagers. You want everything taken care as fast as possible so you can move on and be down with it. But that's not the right thing to do. You have to be patient and we both know that we're not patient."
Moroha sighs. "I know but who knows what that school might have in store. Conspiracies, coups, anything that no one is noticing under their noses."
Inuyasha takes hold of her shoulder. "Remember how long it took your mom and I to solve the case that you were in?" Moroha nods. "If it weren't for your help, it would've taken a much longer time for us to solve the case."
Just hearing that made her brown eyes fill with tears. "Oh dad." She hugs him. Inuyasha returns the embrace with the rubbing trick he did when Moroha was a kid. "So, no more doubting, and remain stress free." He advises her. "We should head up and have dinner." They both go upstairs turning the light out in the gym.
In the middle of the night, even though Sakura Hills is closed, the blossoms remain in same phase to have its pedal flutter softly down to the ground below.
"It won't be long now." A female voice idly. "As soon as she arrives, I'll make sure that she suffers without realizing. This fragrance is meant to have calming atmosphere here. I might as well make use to this to my advantage. After all, she will fall to something that she will be doubtful about." The voice chuckles wickedly as soon as she disappears.
Inside of the school, the head mistress office is locked up. But someone else was able to unlock the door and enter. "Let's see here." She logs into the school's computer mainframe. It requests a personal password that only the headmistress knows herself.
"Tell me Yuki, what is the password?" The female voice said to the headmistress who is in a trance. Yuki easily types the password to give the woman access to the school system. Once in the woman smiles.
"Thank you for letting me in. You may go home now." The female dismissed Yuki.
The woman types a few seconds to find files on every student who attends.
"Moroha Takahashi. Towa Takahashi, and Setsuna Takahashi. So three individuals are to be here this week. From the looks of it, they're very intelligent, athletic and strong in their own unique way. Interesting. I'll let them settle in for a while. Maybe a few students would like to get to know them. Who knows, I might be able to know their weaknesses are."
The woman logs out of the system and turns off the computer. "Alright, let's see how well you girls do here. I can guarantee that it's nothing like your old school." She vanishes without leaving a trace.
