A/N Just another time of Autumn and Sawyer playing with their trainsonas. These are just to have something to share when I don't have something else public I'm working on.
Autumn was over at Sawyers and they were playing with their trainsonas. Sawyer's brother Nathaniel was hanging out with an old friend.
Sawyer said, "I've got a special train to pull.", acting as her trainsona.
Autumn said, "I've got some passengers to take on the Killdane Branch Line. They work at the ice cream factory.", in character.
Sawyer said, "I'm taking on coal for my journey."
Autumn said, "I'm thirsty, so I shall have a drink at the water column before my journey.".
Sawyer said, "ACHOO-SHOO! I've taken on bad coal and my smokebox was feeling all stuffed up, so I just sneezed ashes all over.".
Autumn said, "I've got a stuffed up smokebox myself. ACHOO-SHOO! I couldn't breathe so I just sneezed ashes all over the station.".
Sawyer said, "I'm at the station and I see your crew cleaning up.".
Autumn said, "They're making sure my smokebox is cleaned out next, so I'm not Autumn the Stuffed Up Engine. Now, I know how Henry felt when he sneezed ashes all over some boys.".
Sawyer said, "ACHOO-SHOO! I think I've got bad coal, too. My crew will make sure my smoke box is empty of ashes, after they clear up."
Autumn said, "Must be Sodor got a poor lot of coal. I keep encountering ACHOO-SHOOs.".
Sawyer said, "Maybe there's a coal shortage.".
The girls finished their game when Autumn had to go home.
Autumn went through the rest of her day, including her bedtime routine. She fell asleep after reading herself a bedtime story from The Railway Series, hugging her cuddle Thomas and dreamed of being her trainsona.
Engine Autumn had crossed the Vicarstown Bridge. She went to the Steamworks for a bath at the washdown and a check. The Steamworks was loud and she began to cry, having a wailing meltdown, her face wet with tears and she sniffled, long and loud. Her driver heard her wailing sobs and came to comfort her, with her fireman patting her cab, offering his comfort.
Autumn's driver said, "There, there, Autumn. It shall be fine. Just let it all out. All the noise upset you, but it's over now.". He rubbed her sodden cheeks and wiped her teary eyes, listening attentively as he tried to understand how she was feeling, offering his empathy and compassion.
Autumn went on crying and wailing, fresh tears filling her eyes. She sniffled again, hard, coughed as she choked on her wailing sobs and hiccupped. She gasped and gulped, shaking as her uncontrollable tears poured from her eyes, not once stopping and let her driver comfort her.
He said, as he continued to wipe her tears away, "I'm here for you. Take all the time you need. Feel how you feel. I wish I could wipe your unhappiness, so I shall wipe your eyes. I love to wipe your eyes, so let the tears out.". He looked for anything that might provide relief or comfort, reassured her while trying not to be overbearing, pushy or intrusive, patiently listening and supporting her as he pressed her hanky to her eyes and wiped all her tears away as best he could.
Autumn wailed and cried until her tears ran dry. Her driver wiped her nose and helped her blow, finishing with a final wipe, then dried her last tears away, wiping her cheeks and eyes dry of tears and her fireman offered inspiration.
"Autumn," he began, "you're a locomotive—a powerful engine with a heart that beats in sync with the rhythm of the rails. Yes, there are moments when the noise overwhelms you, when the tears flow freely. But remember this: every drop of rain that falls on your steel skin only adds to your strength. It's not weakness; it's resilience.
You see, Autumn, those tears? They're not a sign of defeat; they're a testament to your capacity to feel deeply. And feeling deeply is what makes you extraordinary. So let them flow, my dear engine. Let them cleanse your firebox, wash away the soot of worry and doubt. And when the storm subsides, you'll emerge even more magnificent—a locomotive with a heart that knows both sorrow and joy.
And as for the noise? It's just the world trying to drown out your song. But you have a melody within you, Autumn—a melody of determination, compassion, and unwavering purpose. So let it rise above the clatter, louder than any whistle, and know that you're not alone. We're here, your crew, standing by your side, wiping away the tears and cheering you on.
You're not just an engine, Autumn. You're a symphony of steel and spirit, and your journey is filled with crescendos and quiet moments alike. So keep chugging forward, my resilient friend. The tracks may twist and turn, but your fire burns bright, lighting the way for others. And remember, even in the loudest storms, there's always a calm—a place where your heart finds solace and your wheels find purpose.".
Autumn left the Steamworks feeling better, then woke up from her dream of being Engine Autumn.
A/N Not sure when I'll do this kind of thing again, I'm doing an AOAMIA story about Autumn's 11th birthday, then slow the timeline way down, as I got a year ahead of real time. 11's a rough age for Autumn, so she'll daydream of Sodor every day for a time, but I'll write only 1 chapter a week.
