White Fang Secret Train (Morning)
Raven knew who she was facing. She just didn't expect him to be so strong.
Russo had burned his way through the metal walls of the train once he sensed the woman's presence. The iris in his working eye had turned blazing red. With a feral scream, he lunged at Raven like a wild animal. She had no time to react as Vesuvius tore into her Aura, sending her flying out the cabin through the back door. The bandit used the sheath of her weapon to take the brunt of the impact with the tracks as she tumbled on the ground. With a snarl, Russo jumped out of the door as well to continue the battle.
"I know you have Ivy." Raven said.
"Ivy? What do you want with her?" Russo asked, raising his weapon. Slowly, he began to put the pieces together. "Wait, we met her in the Emerald Forest after she ran away from something. Or...someone..."
It suddenly clicked why Ivy didn't like talking about her past. Why she was in the Emerald Forest when nobody should've been there. Why she could use magic.
"Ivy's a Maiden." Russo said quietly, the revelation clearing up so much about his friend. His mother had told him legends about the Four Maidens, and given his and Sapphire's unique talents, he was inclined to believe at least most of the story. His Aura blazed to life as his eye ignited. "And you want to take her power for yourself."
"You have no idea what being the Spring Maiden means." Raven said, getting ready for a fight.
"Oh, spare me." Russo said, opening Vesuvius' blade. He savagely thrust it into the ground, causing the ground below to explode and sending shrapnel and flames at his opponent. "I couldn't care less what someone like you has to say."
Raven was launched into a wall, severely damaging her Aura. Despite having years of experience, the bandit had nowhere near enough physical strength to handle this fight. She didn't like it, but she used her Semblance to open a portal back to her encampment. Unfortunately, this wasn't a battle she could just run away from.
"Time to test out my new attack!" Russo shouted, raising his hand and closing it into a fist. In an instant, the portal was ripped apart by blades of stone that jutted from the ground. "Yarara! This is real fun! Time for another one!" Another blade shot out from underneath Raven, hitting her in the stomach and breaking three of her ribs.
'This is insane.' Raven thought to herself as she clutched her side. How was a child giving her such a hard time?
"Yararara! This is amazing!" Russo exclaimed as flames appeared around him. "Now...I can finally let loose!" An oppressive Aura rippled throughout the entire cavern, and the boy's blood vessels began to glow beneath his skin. "Let's see how you handle this!"
White Fang Secret Train (Morning)
Welter, enshrouded by dark magic, blasted the White Fang member with a stream of black lightning from his staff. "You're in my way." the boy said blankly to the Faunus. "If you allow me to proceed to the next room, no further harm will come to your being."
"Screw off. I'm not letting you or your stupid sister leave this room in anything but a body bag." the man growled, making Welter sigh. The Schnee put Weiss down. Seconds later, her body glowed in a rainbow of colors before vanishing. "Where'd she go?"
"Someplace where our conflict won't disturb her." Welter replied simply. He then raised his staff toward his opponent, shooting another beam of lightning. The White Fang member took the attack, using his fists as a shield. The power of the strike was too strong, though, and corroded his Aura like rust on metal.
"AGH!" he cried as the lightning dissipated. "What the hell are you?" he asked. His semblance had never been challenged in terms of strength by anyone except Sienna Khan herself. For a kid to accomplish that...
"You don't need to know that." Welter said as shadows took over the entire room, covering everything in darkness. "The only thing you need to know is that anyone who opposes my family, friend or foe, must face the consequences!"
The metal walls and ceiling shattered, but instead of the rocky tunnel the train was rushing through, the outside appeared as a night sky littered with stars and planets. A handful of the celestial bodies transformed into glowing green spears that surged with black lightning. The spears all pointed at the White Fang member, then shot at him like comets. The Faunus tried using his semblance as a shield again, this time succeeding in deflecting Welter's magic.
The boy began smirking as he launched another barrage of spears. He was so engaged in the fight, that he barely noticed the temperature steadily rising.
