Welcome to my first Bg3 fanfiction, hope you all enjoy this.

It was your average day in the city of Baldur's Gate, shops and taverns were opening their doors, Nobels walked in the most fashionable clothing coin could buy and paperboys were handing out the latest issue of the gazette. Elsewhere in a back alley, two figures were standing in waiting. One was a human dressed in high-fashion clothing with gold threads on the sleeves and the other was a large mountain of a tiefling who stood a foot taller than the man who stood behind with two horns on her head along with a large axe strapped on her back dressed in normal clothing with some bits of armor around. If her large stature didn't intimidate anyone her axe certainly would. The two stood and waited until they were approached by a Dragonborn and two half-orcs acting as the Dragonborn's guards as the human spoke.

"Drereth, I'm pleased you'd take your time to do business with me."

The dragonborn huffed. "If your weapons are as good as you claim to be Gortash then there is no trouble in showing me your newest one?" He said.

"Kharlach be a dear and show Mr. Arziros to his purchase," Gortash said as the tiefling left to retrieve a craft Gortash had stashed nearby the orcs followed leaving the dealer and his client alone as the Dragonborn smiled.

"And Gortash what made you think I'd be buying from you when I can just take it, after the two deal with your demonic friend you will tell me where the rest of your weapons stash is even if takes breaking every single bone in..."

Drereth was cut short by screams, not of a woman but more like a savage animal as Kharlach pushed one of the orcs into a wall while screaming before taking the orc's head and bashing it into the wall about a dozen times splashing herself in gushes of blood and what little brain matter remained from the skull as Gortash casually walked past his enranged guard before retrieving a large crossbow.

"You wanted my new project well..." He then clicked the trigger and a bolt flew from the crossbow and into the Dragonborn's eye and out of his skull as the body collapsed on the ground. "There it is." He smiled before looking at Kharlach. "And where is your axe?"

"Funny thing you see I managed to lodge it into one the brute's head but it got jammed in there and now." She walked to the other orc who was sitting on the ground with the large axe on his forehead, Kharlach pressed her foot on his head before pushing and pulling the axe out of it and placing it on her back as the two then left the area

It soon became night as the two partners sat in a local tavern, Gortash sipping on a fresh glass of wine while Kharlach was chugging down a fifth round of ale as she slammed it on the table. "Look at us two friends at the top of the world!" She said cheerfully with glee in her face as Gortash scoffed.

"No, not yet not until tonight's order goes according to plan, it is of high risk and I trust that you will follow my every instruction?" He said while he took out a few gold coins and tossed them to the bartender. "Give her whatever food and drink she desires." He said as Kharlach looked at him.

"Stop, you're spoiling me, why the rush on food and beer?" She asked while she chowed down on a large meaty leg and a large cup of booze.

"Because Kharlach after tonight you won't have to worry about going hungry for food or drink ever again," Gortash said as a small smirk formed on his mouth as he finished his wine. It had turned to midnight by the time they had arrived at the location the Gortash had organized for the meeting as the two had entered into the sewer system with Kharlach on high alert.

"I don't think this a good place for making weapon deals, too much open space perfect for an ambush." She said as Gortash ignored her warning and proceeded forward before stopping as the sound of loud growls echoed in the sewer. "Sounds like a wolf but it might be an illusion, Gortash I feel like we should..." Kharlach couldn't finish as she was then grabbed by two large creatures, werewolves.

She fought hard but she wasn't prepared for something like this, no silver or holy weapons at hand as she tried to fight barehanded only for the werewolves to quickly overpower her and pin her to the ground while she yelled. "RUN!, Gortash this isn't a deal, it's a fucking slaughter, hurry before they catch you and..." She felt her entire body go still and limb as she was frozen in place, not frozen... paralyzed. She couldn't speak or move her body, she could only see what was happening, and what she saw made her heart stop for a moment.

Gortash didn't run like Kharlach told her to or ever try to save her or fend for himself instead he held a scroll in his hands as he finished the incantation before speaking to the werewolves. "I assure you my payment has been fulfilled?" He asked as the werewolves didn't speak and instead simply handed him a small chest which he took generously before looking at his now former bodyguard. "In all due respect, Kharlach you were good at your job but now you will come to understand why I did this soon but do not worry, Cazador Szarr promised to treat you with a bit more leniency than the others." He said as a group of mercenaries emerged from the shadows and helped Gortash unload the contents of the chest into smaller bags which were then tossed into a cart and pulled as Gortash simply walked away as Kharlach watched while being dragged away by the werewolves.

If she could move her eyes they'd be full of tears.
