As soon as he heard the nickname his friend gave him such a long time ago, Mr. Small's eyes narrowed, anger pulsing through him; he was still mad at him for pulling him away from his counterpart when he was trying to show him that nobody got in his way. But now he found himself getting even more upset with Mr. Nosy for calling him that stupid name he came up with shortly after they became close friends.
"I decide when we go home," he reminded him, glaring up at him. Suddenly an idea popped in his head, and he pushed past the light green Mr. Man. "And I might not even return with you."
He noticed that Mr. Nosy's eyes grew huge, and Mr. Small smiled slightly. The trap is set, he thought with satisfaction, knowing now he just needed his friend to take the bait, then he'll never dare go against him ever again.
"W-What do you mean?" the light green guy stuttered.
Mr. Small didn't stop until he was beside his best friend's counterpart. "I can replace you in a heartbeat," he announced, grabbing hold of Nosy's hand and yanking him away from his boyfriend. The small man from this world looked up, pain still shining in his eyes from when Mr. Small kicked him, but he was clearly more concerned about his friend than he was of himself.
Mr. Nosy gasped as he stared at Mr. Small. "Y-You wouldn't."
"Try me." Mr. Small glared at him. "He looks exactly like you; nobody will recognize the difference." Wanting to test something, the small man turned sharply to Nosy and pulled with all his might on his hand, which caused him to fall to his knees. Mr. Small stared into his eyes, noticing the fear in them. "Get up," he ordered, and he stumbled back to his feet when Mr. Small let go of him. Turning back to Mr. Nosy, he added," And I can have him trained in no time."
Nosy looked down at him. "Trained?" he echoed, but Mr. Small didn't respond to him, only kept his gaze fixed on his best friend.
The nosy Mr. Man from another world had an uneasy expression on his face as his eyes met Mr. Small's, and he began to hope that he was ready to give in.
But then he switched his gaze to the small man who still sat on the floor like he had no idea what to do. Mr. Small noticed that his eyes suddenly hardened as he stared at his best friend's counterpart and he walked over there, gently helping him back to his feet.
Small blinked up at him in surprise. The pain was gone from his expression.
"I can replace you, too," Mr. Nosy suddenly admitted, turning to his Mr. Small. "He will be nicer than you, and I can live here with him. I can actually be happy again." He crossed his arms, fear flashing on his face, but he continued to stand his ground.
Anger boiled up inside Mr. Small, and he took a step forward. "He won't smell like disgusting cigarette smoke!" he nearly shouted.
Mr. Nosy walked closer to his friend as well. "You drove me to smoke!" he insisted, glaring at him as he showed no fear now. "If I stay here, I can quit because I won't be stressed all the time!"
"What the hell do you have to be stressed about?" Mr. Small took another step.
The light green Mr. Man did as well as he spoke. "You order me around!" he reminded his friend. "If it isn't making your lunch, it's hurting your girlfriend!"
Mr. Small froze and just stared at him. Then he murmured," Fine," and turned back to Nosy. He started pushing him toward the bedroom. Mr. Nosy grabbed Small's hand and yanked him toward the kitchen. The best friends from another world didn't say anything else to each other, but the Mr. Men from this Dillydale glanced at each other with sadness.
Mr. Small pushed Nosy into the bedroom and toward the closet. He quickly opened the portal and pointed into it. When Nosy didn't move, he shoved him into it, watching as he stumbled through worlds. He stepped out of the portal beside him as he landed on his hands and knees.
Well that didn't go as planned, Mr. Small thought, gazing into the closet at their counterparts' bedroom. But I'm not backing down until he does. With an angry huff, he slammed the door, closing the portal.
Gasping, Nosy jumped to his feet and flung the door open, but his world was gone. He stared into the closet, fear flashing across his face. "W-What…" He slowly turned his head and looked down at Mr. Small. "W-What just h-happened?"
"I've replaced him," the small man growled, jerking his head at the closet, meaning his old Mr. Nosy. Now this light green Mr. Man was his best friend and he needed to train him to act like him— around their friends and in the privacy of their home. "Come on," he ordered, walking away from the closet and away from his old friend. But he stopped when he saw that Nosy wasn't following him. "I said, come!"
Nosy hurried over to him, frowning. "Why did you bring me here?" he asked. "What about… the other Mr. Small?"
"He's not here," the small man snapped. "Get over it. Now, come on. We have work to do!"
"Work?" the nosy man echoed.
Mr. Small groaned and rolled his eyes. First thing's first, I have to break him of that annoying habit, asking questions all the time! This is gonna be harder than I realized!
