"Can't we do something?" Mr. Nosy asked as he looked over at his best friend's counterpart. The small Mr. Man was still beside the closet even though it's been nearly three days since the other Mr. Small took his boyfriend. He refuses to leave the spot and he very rarely eats or drinks. Part of Mr. Nosy is worried about him, but mostly he was just bored and wanted to move on. Yet Small insists on staying beside the closet "in case Mr. Nosy comes back" as he always said whenever the Mr. Nosy from the other Dillydale tries talking him into doing absolutely anything else.

Mr. Nosy had been upset with his Mr. Small and grew to hate how he always bossed him around. But at least they did something every day instead of moping around the house. He groaned loudly and rubbed his hand down his face. He needed to do something before he died of boredom!

The small Mr. Man didn't reply to him or even look up. Mr. Nosy was starting to get very, very frustrated. He wondered if Mr. Small was having any better luck with his counterpart.

"Shut up!" Mr. Small snapped after the tenth question Nosy had asked him. Rage was burning in him and it was only nine in the morning! Why did his best friend's counterpart have to ask question after question? It was so annoying!

Nosy jumped back, startled. "I just asked if you wanted to go get lunch," he said, frowning.

"Yes, but before that you were asking stupid questions like if you can go visit your– friend." He refused to call his counterpart this Mr. Man's boyfriend. Why did he have to pick this Mr. Nosy to replace his old one? His former best friend never had feelings for his Mr. Small. He got extremely upset when Mr. Small took advantage of him while he was drunk…

Wait… Was that true? Now it was all coming back to him. He had replaced his Mr. Nosy before, with another Mr. Nosy that came from a very different Dillydale than the one he and their gay counterparts live in.

They have alcohol there, Mr. Small remembered. And that Mr. Nosy got drunk and came home and his Mr. Small slept with him and they stopped being friends. So when me and my… first Mr. Nosy came to their world, I told the other Mr. Nosy to come back with me and it was us that hurt Elizabeth. It's all coming back to me. History is repeating itself. Suddenly all this felt wrong. He shouldn't have tried to replace another Mr. Nosy. He got along better with his second one than with his first one. And this one is just so annoying and stupid, he thought, not even listening to Nosy anymore as he continued to ask questions.

Briefly, for like a split second, he wondered how his first Mr. Nosy was doing. Then he shook his head and realized what he had to do. He had to get his second Mr. Nosy back and return this one.

He felt kind of uncomfortable at that thought because it sounded like these Mr. Nosys were just books he borrowed from a library and he could take which one he wanted and return them if he didn't like them. But then he hardened his heart and told himself that he didn't care. After he took this one back, he would never replace Mr. Nosy ever again.

Jumping to his feet, he grabbed Nosy's hand and dragged him to the bedroom.

"Where are we going?" he gasped.

Mr. Small stopped in front of the closet. "I'm taking you home."

"Really?" Hope shone in his eyes. Then wary crept in and he eyed him nervously. "Why?"

Mr. Small was kind of annoyed but also proud that Nosy clearly thought this was a trap. "I just decided I don't want you anymore," he said dismissively, refusing to even admit that he missed his old Mr. Nosy. "So I decided I'll take you home and get back the other one." He shrugged and reached for the doorknob, ignoring the warm feeling he got when Nosy said," Thank you."

Mr. Nosy was about to ask again if they could do something when suddenly a bright light appeared in the closet and the door opened. A Mr. Nosy ran in and immediately Small jumped to his feet and threw himself at his friend. Mr. Nosy watched them curiously, wondering how they each knew it was their friend.

Then he spotted his Mr. Small walking out of the closet, recognizing him by the disgusted look he shot at their counterparts.

Mr. Nosy stood up and slowly made his way over to him. "What's going on?" he asked cautiously.

"Come on, we're going home," the small Mr. Man said, gesturing to the open closet.

Mr. Nosy glanced at the other them. Nosy was holding Small and they were hugging, sobbing happily. Then Mr. Nosy turned to Mr. Small. "Why did you come back?" he asked. He knew he should be wary, especially if this was a trick, but he was curious to know what made Mr. Small change his mind.

For a moment, Mr. Small was silent and just watched the two Mr. Men embrace each other. Finally, the small Mr. Man said," He wasn't you." It was a few moments before Mr. Small added," Now come on. Let's go home."

For some reason Mr. Nosy felt like Mr. Small said instead," I missed you." But he knew he wouldn't actually say those words. He had to accept that he would never truly admit he liked him, so he shrugged and followed his best friend to their world, closing the door. But before he did that, he looked once more at their counterparts, who seemed unwilling to let each other go. Then he closed the door and the light shining through told him the other world was closed, and hopefully he'll never have to go there ever again.
