Suddenly with a burst of energy and power, Kagome came running bursting through the ages, and fell to the ground. She quickly made her way out, stumbling, turned, and held out her hand, and with even more power, she destroyed the well.
"Kagome!" Sango ran up to her. "What took you so long!"
Kagome panted. She was wearing a simple white dress, spaghetti strapped, made with chiffon, and had a ruffled layered hem that sat above her knee. With it was an odd pairing of black combat boots that had small bags attached to the side.
The dress got muddy when she landed on the ground but she didn't much care.
"I had to say goodbye while I could,"
"I hope you aren't already too late," Sango said quickly,
"Too late for what?" Her eyebrows drew in as she pushed her hair behind her ear. Sango looked at Miroku for help. "Lord Sesshomaru is taking a wife,"
Kagome's heart stopped for a moment. "What?" She whispered, "I've only been gone nine days."
"He thought you left him; we all did," Miroku stated,
"Yet you are here," She stated.
They could not argue with that.
Kagome had mixed feelings on the matter. Her first thought was to run to him because, well, damn it, he was her husband. But then she recalled how and why, and yet something had changed, and she found herself wanting more, needing more.
The whole time she was back home, she missed him. She came back for him. But perhaps that was a mistake. But it couldn't be.
"He loved you," Sango blurted out.
Miroku smacked his own forehead.
"Do you love him?"
She honestly didn't know; she knew she felt something, and he loved her? Perhaps a stretch, but there was only one way to find out. She needed to know because she had just given up all chances of ever going back to her old life, and he was the reason.
He was the reason the well let her back in. He was all the reason she needed.
Kagome bolted. She wasn't sure if he still wanted her. She wasn't sure if she could even reach him. But the more she ran, the closer she got, the more she wanted to see him.
She knew how to get where she was going, how she didn't know but her feet kept going.
Like a wild wind and blind power, she burst through the doors of the dimly lit room. "Sesshomaru!" She yelled; she didn't even stop; she kept moving till she leaped into the air over the pool.
He turned, shocked, and caught her. Her chest pressed against his, and his arms wrapped around her waist. "Sesshomaru!" Then, without his consent or thought to anyone else in the room, her mouth claimed his.
His chest rumbled in both pleasure and anger.
She kissed him bravely with need but slowed it and then broke it.
"Get out," His voice was deadly, and the women in the room vanished, closing the door quickly behind them.
"You left me," He said darkly, angry.
"I, I was coming back."
"You looked dead at me and left,"
"I came back,"
"You did not know if that portal would allow you to return," He snapped,
"I knew It would,"
"Brave assumption, woman," He yanked her hair, making her neck bend back. He licked her neck, and her eyes rolled,
"I knew it, why didn't you?"
He growled, "I am not a romantic woman; that won't work on me," His fangs scraped her mark, and it made her gasp. "Do not claim to love me, Kagome; lies do not look good on you,"
Her hands went to his arms. "I came back, didn't I?"
"To me?"
"For you,"
"You think I need you?" He asked. Kagome closed her eyes; she had to do this; she had to be brave, a woman.
"I need you,"
He pushed her back till her back hit the edge of the pool. "Careful woman, you may get more than you are asking for, and I am full of rage and pent-up-
"Need of me?"
"Arent we being brave, it won't make me gentle," He kissed her hard. He should be punishing her. Instead, she was punishing him. He was hard with the need to take her.
This time, she would not be leaving him, and he wasn't holding back.
