Another school day had arrived, and everyone had arrived at their homerooms. Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, Marcie, Franklin, Violet, Frieda, the Pattys, Janice, Heather Wold, Pig-Pen, Tommy, Emerald, Scarlet, Spearmint Sammy and Marty had settled in their seats, waiting for Mr. Othmar to call out the roll. When he'd finished, he made an announcement.

"Attention, students." said Mr. Othmar. "I have a very special announcement to make."
"We're all ears." smirked Charlie Brown.

"This Friday, we are going to go to Sparkyville Museum."

"Hooray! Sparkyville Museum!" cheered the kids.

"This sounds like a good enough excuse to help us with any assignments we may have." said Marcie.

"Anyway," said Mr. Othmar. "You'll need permission slips and some money for admission."
And Mr. Othmar handed permission slips to each student. Charlie Brown looked at his slip. He was excited.

When Charlie Brown arrived home that day, he went to tell his folks all about his upcoming field trip.

"Guess what, Mom!" said Charlie Brown. "We're going on a field trip this Friday!"

"Where to? Not the chocolate factory again." said Joyce.

"No." said Charlie Brown. "We're going to the museum."
"The museum? Wow!" said Joyce.

"I know." said Charlie Brown. "Here's my slip."

Joyce signed the permission slip, and gave Charlie Brown some money. When she did this, Sally arrived.

"Hey, everyone! I'm home!" Sally called.

"Hey, Sally." said Charlie Brown. "I'm going to the museum for a field trip this Friday."
"I'm going to the museum too!" said Sally. "Except our trip isn't until next Friday."
"I don't believe it!" said Joyce. "My eldest kids going to the museum!"

Friday arrived, and Snoopy noticed Charlie Brown and Sally leaving for the bus stop. He followed them. There, already waiting, were Lucy, Linus, Lindsey, Heather, Janice, Rerun, Harold Angel and Britney.

"Hey, Charlie Brown." said Heather Wold.

"Hey, Heather. Hey, Janice, Linus, Lucy, Harold Angel, Lindsey, Britney, Rerun." said Charlie Brown.

"Ready for the museum, Charlie Brown?" asked Heather Wold.

"Am I ever." said Charlie Brown.

"We don't go until next week." said Sally.

"Plenty of time." said Harold Angel.

"Hey, Snoopy." said Charlie Brown. "Come to see us off to school?"

Snoopy, due to his inability to talk, said nothing. But as he stared, the bus to Sparkyville Middle School arrived. Snoopy stepped on, but in less than 2 seconds, he was kicked off.

"Ooooh….." Snoopy groaned.

"Sorry, Snoopy." said Charlie Brown. "You can't come with me. Dogs aren't allowed on the school bus."
"Woof." smirked Sally.

"Sally, you're not even in middle school until next year." Charlie Brown sighed as he, Lucy, Linus, Janice, Heather and Lindsey stepped on.

At the next stop, Katie, Heather Clyde-Halverson and Tommy were waiting for their buses.

"Looking forward to your museum trip, Cuz?" asked Heather CH.

"I sure am." said Tommy.

"I don't go until next week." said Katie. "Hopefully Rerun can go too."

"How's little Cora?" asked Heather CH.

"She's good." said Tommy. "Getting to be a big girl already."

"Fred's doing well too." said Katie. "He's sure to be a big boy."

As they talked, the bus arrived.

"Oh. Here's our bus. Goodbye, Katie." said Tommy as he and Katie hugged.

"Have fun, Cuz!" said Katie. "Have fun too, Cuz." she said, turning to Heather CH.

But what neither of the students noticed was that Snoopy was sitting on the back bumper of the bus, playing a harmonica.

When all the students hopped off the bus at Sparkyville Middle School, Snoopy eagerly waited for students to board the buses again, as long as they were to go to the museum. Snoopy really wanted to go. But little did Snoopy realise until just then that Woodstock had boarded the bus too. Because the bus was yellow, Woodstock could camouflage himself when boarding buses. Woodstock explained in his scratching words he had used his colour feathers to board the bus.

"Ooooh!" Snoopy said with wonder.

Snoopy showed in his own sign language he was going to use a bus that went to the museum downtown.

"Yay!" Woodstock cheered. He wanted to go to the museum too.

"Shh…." Snoopy said.

"Oh." Woodstock said, putting his wings over his beak.

Every student who could stepped out of the school, and were hopping on their respective buses. Snoopy watched for the Round-Headed Teen. As soon as he spied Charlie Brown, Snoopy rushed to the bus and sat on the back of it.

"That Round-Headed Teen won't see me." Snoopy thought.

So Snoopy made sure Woodstock was on the bus already. Woodstock chirped his scratchy sounds, sending Snoopy jumping off the bus.

"AAUGH!"

"He he he he!"

Snoopy climbed back on the bus and it drove off.

Soon, the buses arrived at Sparkyville City Museum, and all the students poured out of them, and with each homeroom, everyone stuck together.

"Is everyone here?" asked Mr. Othmar.

Mr. Othmar called out the roll, and as everyone said "Present", they were ready.

Magnolia Sampson called out the roll for her homeroom.

"Here, Mrs. Sampson." said Floyd.

"I'm here too." said Roy.

"Good." said Mrs. Sampson. "Now we're ready to go in."

When every homeroom entered the museum, Snoopy walked in, only to get kicked out instantly.
"Argh." Snoopy muttered. "Ah ha!"

Snoopy changed into a red shirt, sported round sunglasses, Woodstock donned sunglasses too. Both dog and bird walked in, the guard not suspecting anything.

"He he he." Woodstock giggled.

Because of the size of the museum, the teachers decided to let the students roam the museum at their own will. This pleased the students, as they could spend as long as they liked looking at the different exhibits.

"I wonder if there are any exhibits talking about America's history." said Tommy.

"There is a documentary series I starred in which talks about America's history." said Charlie Brown.

"I'd like to see how America's railways were built, Charlie." said Tommy.

"It just so happens they just opened a railroad exhibit here." said Charlie Brown.

"Great! Can't wait to see how America's railways differ from Australia's, and even Great Britain's." said Tommy as he went to look at the railway exhibit.

Unbeknownst to Tommy, Snoopy had snuck into the railway exhibit, and saw a large locomotive that ran on America's railways during their early days.

"Ay!" Snoopy cheered.

Snoopy snuck onto the locomotive and looked around for how to work it.

"Wow! America's trains look so different to Australia's!" said Tommy as he read the description.

Snoopy saw the tender the locomotive was coupled behind.

"Huh." said Snoopy, noticing there was no coal in the tender.

Snoopy hopped out and went to find some coal.

"There goes the World-Famous Joe Cool." sighed Tommy. "I know how Charlie must feel."

"Now where should I go first?" wondered Lucy.

"Lucy!" said Sebastian.

"Oh. Hey, Sebastian." said Lucy. "Just wondering where to go."

"I wonder too." said Sebastian.

"I've got it!" said Lucy. "Let's go to the football exhibit. See how American football started."

"Great idea." said Sebastian.

So Lucy and Sebastian walked over to the football exhibit, little realising Snoopy was snooping behind. He was looking for coal for the engine he was driving.

"Hmm…."

Lucy and Sebastian saw all sorts of football exhibits in this section.

"Wow!" said Sebastian. "So much football around here!"

"I know!" said Lucy. "Hey, I have a neat idea! I'll look for a football I can hold!"

"Okay. If you say so." said Sebastian.

Snoopy snooped into the football exhibit, and he was amazed. He decided 'Forget the coal, football for me!' He was about to watch something interesting.

"Sebastian Moreno, oh Sebastian Moreno!" Lucy cajoled.

"Oh. Hey, Lucy. Found a football, I see." said Sebastian.

"I have a neat idea." said Lucy. "I'll hold the football, and you come running up to it and kick it."
"Okay, Lucy." said Sebastian.

So Sebastian got himself ready, Lucy held the ball in place, and Sebastian ran towards the ball.

"Uh oh." Snoopy said with worry.

Just as Sebastian was about to kick the ball, Lucy pulled it right away, and Sebastian flew right into the air, landing on a football field exhibit.

"Lucy, why did you do that?" asked Sebastian.

"I used to play this kind of gag on Charlie Brown." said Lucy. "Thought I'd try it on someone else for a change."
"Oh. I see." said Sebastian.

Snoopy swiped the ball and ran off.

"Hey!" shouted Lucy.

Snoopy held the ball in place, and Lucy looked at him.

"If he thinks I'm gonna fall for that, he can forget it." said Lucy.

Schroeder was over at the Classical Music exhibit. He was looking for some Beethoven history.

"Hmm….. no Beethoven so far." said Schroeder. "But I'll find a piano to play.

Schroeder looked around further until…..

"Beethoven!" Schroeder said.

Schroeder got on the seat and played the piano. He played Fur Elise. Not far from where he was playing, Mary Stewart was walking by. She heard what was playing.

"Is that what I think it is?" Mary Stewart asked herself.

Mary Stewart walked on over, and at last.

"Oh, Schroeder!" said Mary Stewart.

Mary Stewart was about to get on the piano when Snoopy snuck up onto the piano. He was just about to kiss Schroeder when Mary Stewart pulled him off.

"Do not rest there." said Mary Stewart.

"Aw." sighed Snoopy.

But Mary Stewart sat on the same chair Schroeder was sitting on.

"Oh, Schroeder!" Mary Stewart smiled.

Schroeder looked over toward Mary Stewart and blushed. Snoopy felt left out

Frieda was looking around for another exhibit.

"I wonder if there's any exhibit of people with naturally curly hair?" wondered Frieda.

"You and your naturally curly hair, Frieda!" chuckled Peppermint Patty.

"Although, I wonder where my sweeteridoo has gone?" Frieda asked.

"I think it's in the music exhibit, waiting to be played." joked Peppermint Patty.

"Not Didgeridoo, Sweeteridoo!" said Frieda. "It's what Tommy asked me to call him."

"He must be in the railroad exhibit." said Marcie.

"Oh, he really likes trains that much." said Frieda. "Thanks."
When Frieda went off, Peppermint Patty and Marcie stood.

"Shall we go to the sport exhibit, Marcie?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"Sports aren't really my forte, Sir." said Marcie. "I could go down the science exhibit."
"Okay." said Peppermint Patty. "I'll go on my own."

Snoopy came up, and was looking at the two girls go their own ways.

"Huh?"
Snoopy decided to follow Peppermint Patty to the sports exhibit.

"Oh. Hey, Lucille." said Peppermint Patty. "Hey, Bast."

"Hey, Patty." said Lucy. "Peppermint Patty's great at sports." Lucy then said, turning back to Sebastian.

"I can tell." said Sebastian.

"She wallops our teams all the time." Lucy added.

"Come to kick the old football again?" said Peppermint Patty.

"You'll never believe it!" Lucy said. "Remember the old football trick I used to play on Charlie Brown?"

"She played it on me." said Sebastian.

"She gave up on pulling the football away from Chuck after going to a real psychiatrist." Peppermint Patty explained.

"Is this true?" asked Sebastian.

"Yes." said Lucy. "As it turns out, I only did it because he once said little girls don't belong on the football field."

"But you and Chuck were little kids back then." said Peppermint Patty. "And at least we all buried the hatchet."
"Speaking of hatchets," said Sebastian. "Let's look for any medieval exhibits."

"Good idea, Sebastian." said Lucy.

Lucy and Sebastian left, while Peppermint Patty stayed behind.

"What fun this exhibit is!" said Peppermint Patty.

Snoopy walked up.

"Hey, here's a funny-looking kid with a big nose!" Peppermint Patty said. "Fancy a game of football?"

Snoopy didn't answer. He looked for a sport to simulate. He soon found a baseball exhibit.

"Baseball! How I love baseball!" said Peppermint Patty. "How about a round or two?"
Snoopy held a bat.

"You want me to pitch?" asked Peppermint Patty. "Let me show you how a real pitcher pitches."
And Peppermint Patty found a ball, ready to pitch.

"Here it comes!"

Peppermint Patty threw the ball, only for Snoopy to miss.

"Oh?"

The ball was caught by Thibault.

"Thibault?" said Peppermint Patty.

"I see you're playing ball with this funny looking kid." said Thibault.

"Funny-lookin… oh yeah." chuckled Peppermint Patty.

"At least there are no girls playing here." said Thibault.

"Thibault," said Peppermint Patty. "How many times do I have to tell you I'm a girl?"

Thibault looked at Peppermint Patty once more…..

"Wow. I guess I was wrong." said Thibault. "Girls can play sports."
"That's right, Thibault." said Peppermint Patty.

Snoopy was most surprised. Thibault finally realising once and for all that Peppermint Patty was a girl herself. Could Thibault finally be on the road to redemption?

"Hmm…."
Snoopy decided to look for more exhibits. He snuck past another exhibit, one dedicated to….. Dinosaurs.

"Oooooh!" Snoopy said.

Snoopy was just about to walk in when a guard caught him.

"You're not allowed in." he said. "Doesn't open until next week."
"Aw….." Snoopy sighed in defeat.

Snoopy suddenly found another enclosure, dedicated to the ice age.

"Wow!"
Snoopy looked all around the exhibit. There was a mammoth, a sloth, sabre-toothed tiger, all kinds of ice age creatures.

"Hmmmm….." Snoopy thought it looked familiar.

Snoopy waited for some students to come by.

"Let's look at the ice age stuff, Patty." said Violet.

"Good idea." said Patty Swanson. "Come on, Pig-Pen!"
"Yipe!"

Snoopy removed his Joe Cool outfit and hid in the fake snow. Since Snoopy was white himself, he could very well blend himself inside snow.

"Wow! Look at this woolly mammoth!" said Violet.

"This looks much larger than the elephants that exist now." said Patty Swanson.

"Mind if I get a better look at these creatures?" asked Pig-Pen.

"Yech!" wretched Violet. "He'll make them filthy!"

"Relax, Violet." said Patty Swanson. "A little dirt never hurt anyone."

"Except museum artefacts!" Violet added.

"Uh oh!" said Snoopy.

So Snoopy put his Joe Cool outfit back on and ran off.

"What's that kid's problem?" asked Patty Swanson.

"He's always winking." scoffed Violet, remembering when Snoopy winked at her, and she slapped him in the face.

Peppermint Patty and Thibault remained at the sports exhibit when Franklin arrived.

"Hey, Patty. Hey, Thibault." said Franklin.

"Hey, Frank." said Peppermint Patty. "Wanna game of baseball?"
"Not really." said Franklin. "Just looking at the footballs."
"I guess he's more into football than baseball." said Thibault.

Snoopy ran up to Peppermint Patty and Thibault again.

"Hey! It's the funny-looking kid with a big nose again!" said Peppermint Patty.

"Patty." said Franklin. "I don't think that's a funny looking kid with a big nose."
"Neither do I." said Thibault.

"Heya, Trish! Heya, Tee! Heya, Frank!" said Spearmint Sammy.

"Hiya, Sam!" said Peppermint Patty. "Say, where's Marty?"
"Marty's looking at the science exhibit." said Spearmint Sammy.

"That's where Marcie is too." said Peppermint Patty.

Marcie was indeed at the science exhibit. She relished every one of them, from butterflies to flowers and even eyes. She had Marty for company.

"Did you know the pupils of our eyes change size depending on how dark it is?" asked Marcie.

"I did." said Marty. "In fact, I look at my own eyes in the mirror."
"Really! So do I, Martin." said Marcie.

"And also, did you know your heart beats about 43,000 times a year?" asked Marty.

"Amazing!" said Marcie. "You learn something new every day."

Scarlet Harper walked on over.

"Hey, Marty." said Scarlet. "And is this your girlfriend?"

"No. Of course not." said Marty.

"No I'm not." said Marcie. "Besides, I have Franklin."
"Oh." said Scarlet. "Just teasing, like I used to do to Tommy."

Emerald followed on.

"Hey, what's this here?"

"It's only Marcie and Marty." said Scarlet.

"No, what they're looking at." explained Emerald.

"This," said Scarlet. "is a heart, which beats away kerchunk kerchunk."

"Doesn't look like a heart." said Emerald.

"Actually, Emerald." said Marty. "A heart is a big muscle that gets blood around your body."
"Wow!" said Emerald.

"And now do you see why we got you to slim down?" asked Scarlet. "It could even lead to heart problems."
"Now I know." said Emerald.

Snoopy decided to sneak into the science exhibit, specifically the human body place where Marcie, Marty, Scarlet and Emerald were.

"Ooooh!"

Snoopy saw a heart. He felt love since he has one for his wife Fifi.

"Hey, there's a funny looking kid Peppermint Patty always talks about." said Marcie.

"Funny looking kid, huh?" said Emerald. "I'll give him funny-looking.

Snoopy ran off, fearing what Emerald would do to him.

"Hey, come back here!" called Emerald.

"Let him go, Emerald." said Scarlet. "He has other places to be."

Snoopy was looking for somewhere to hide when he ran into a Moai.

"Huh?"
"HEY! JOE COOL!" came a voice.

"Huh?" quizzed Snoopy.

"You look cool!" said the voice again.

Snoopy was surprised. The Moai could talk, or so he thought.

"The way you run around the museum is fun."

Snoopy was so terrified, he ran away to find Woodstock. The one who was hiding behind the Moai was Linus hidden under his blanket.

"Good one, Linus!" chuckled Janice.

"Thanks." said Linus. "Where to next, Janice?"
"How about the human body?" decided Janice.

"Great idea." said Linus.

Snoopy was looking everywhere for Woodstock. He searched the whole science exhibit, including the insect exhibit, the human body exhibit….

"AAUGH!"

Snoopy looked at the railway exhibit, remembering that was where he saw Woodstock last, but all he could see were Tommy and Frieda.

"Doesn't a train's steam remind you of my naturally curly hair?" asked Frieda.

"I guess it does." chuckled Tommy.

"Bah!" Snoopy scoffed as he kicked the locomotive's cowcatcher.

Snoopy looked at the cartoon exhibit where Charlie Brown was. He was intrigued by all the cartoons. Heather Wold was there by his side.

"What's wrong, Charlie Brown?" asked Heather.

"Still thinking about Captain Sparky and how he'd lost his Little Red-Haired Girl." said Charlie Brown.

"Well," said Heather, hugging him from behind. "I'm gonna make sure you don't lose me."
"Oh!" Snoopy groaned.

And Snoopy ran into the sports exhibit again. He looked around every football, baseball, everything, but no Woodstock.

"Oh!"

Snoopy ran back into the Moai once again.

"AAAH!"

Snoopy ran away from it again, and, without realising it, ran into the closed dinosaur enclosure.

"Huh?" said the guard.

Snoopy ran in. He was amazed by what was in the dinosaur exhibit. He suddenly found an archaeopteryx.

"Hmm….."
Snoopy looked more carefully at the archaeopteryx. This was no ordinary archaeopteryx. It looked more like….. Woodstock!

"Ay!"
Snoopy grabbed Woodstock and hugged him.

"He he!" Woodstock chirped.

Snoopy was happy he'd found his bird friend, but his happiness would be short-lived. The security guard grabbed him.

"What did I tell you? This exhibit is closed until next week!"

And he kicked Snoopy and Woodstock out of the museum.

After Snoopy and Woodstock were kicked out, everyone came to the cafeteria for some lunch.

"Hey, Charlie Brown." said Linus. "You'll never believe what we just saw!"

"I saw someone unusual, Chuck." said Peppermint Patty.

"Who?" asked Charlie Brown.

"We saw a funny-looking kid with a big nose." said Peppermint Patty.

"Funny-looking kid with a big nose?" quizzed Marcie.

"He interrupted my game of football." said Lucy.

"One where Lucy pulled the ball away from me." said Sebastian.

"Just like you used to do with me." said Charlie Brown.

"And Linus played a trick on him." said Janice.

"We made him think a Moai was talking." laughed Linus.

"Not all went wrong, Charlie." said Tommy. "Frieda said smoke from a train reminds her of her hair."
"Again with her naturally curly hair." sighed Charlie Brown.

"I enjoyed the Beethoven exhibit." said Schroeder.

"So did I." sighed Mary Stewart dreamily. "But I would've enjoyed it more without Lila."
Lila looked at Mary Stewart sheepishly.

"I think we might have seen him in the ice age exhibit." said Violet. "But not without Pig-Pen making everything all filthy!"

"Come on, Violet." said Patty Swanson. "A little dirt never hurt anyone."

"Hey, Charlie Brown. Wanna check out the baseball exhibit after lunch?" asked Shermy.

Later, Charlie Brown was checking out the baseball exhibit with Shermy.

"Just like when we were kids, huh, Charlie Brown?" asked Shermy.

"Yes." said Charlie Brown. "But look at this mess!"
"Real museum mayhem, huh, Charlie Brown?" asked Shermy.

"You could say that." said Charlie Brown.

"Maybe we should clean this up when we're done." said Shermy. "Make up for any mayhem that went on."

"Okay." said Charlie Brown.

When it was time to go home, everyone was waiting.

"What's taking them so long?" huffed Lucy.

"I need to get home and watch After!" said Emerald.

At last, Charlie Brown and Shermy came out.

"Sorry, guys." said Shermy. "We were cleaning up the museum."
"That really was museum mayhem in there." said Charlie Brown.

The next week, it was Sally's turn to go to the museum with her class and school. Sally was amazed by what she saw open.

"Look, Eudora! Sweet angel!" Sally said to Harold Angel and Eudora.

"Dinosaurs! Cool!" said Harold Angel.

"I don't like dinosaurs." said Eudora fearfully.

"Come on!" said Sally. "Dinosaurs are long dead! They can't hurt us!"

And that was what Sally, Eudora and Harold Angel did; Go into the dinosaur exhibit.

"I'm going to see if there are any fungus exhibits." said Truffles. "My grandfather says I'm as rare as a truffle."

"I'll look to see if there's an exhibit with my face on it." said Tapioca Pudding. "After all, my father says my face on every kind of merchandise brings in the money."

"And I'll look at the flower exhibit." said Mimi. "I love flowers so much."

Meanwhile, Snoopy decided he was not beat yet. He donned a different disguise. He put on a security guard outfit and walked in to see the dinosaur exhibit.

"There goes the World-Famous Security Guard." said Sally.

"Just like your brother would always say." said Eudora.

Snoopy was intrigued by all the dinosaur skeletons in the exhibit. As soon as he saw a tyrannosaurus skeleton, he snuck in.

"Look!" said Sally. "A tyrannosaurus rex! The king of the tyrant reptiles!"

Suddenly, the T-Rex skeleton's lower jaw moved.

"Did you see that?" whimpered Eudora worriedly.

The T-Rex's mouth moved again.

"I did too." whimpered Sally.

"Let's get outta here!" said Harold Angel.

And the three kids ran out of the dinosaur exhibit. Little did they realise it was Snoopy hiding in the T-Rex's skull, moving its lower jaw down.

"He he he!" Snoopy giggled.

Later that afternoon, it was time for Birchwood Elementary to go home for the night.

"Let's see….." said Miss Clyde, Sally's teacher. "Who's missing?"

She looked around and…..

"I don't think anyone's missing." decided Miss Clyde.

"That's a relief." said Mimi.

As everyone got on the bus, Sally suddenly had a thought.

"I kind of feel like we are missing something." Sally said to herself.

"I'm sure it was nothing." said Harold Angel. "Now we must get home. My sister's first birthday is soon."

They did miss something. Crybaby Boobie, Molly Volley's old tennis opponent, was locked in the museum. She looked for her class.

"Hello? Mrs. Horstpommel! I'm ready to go!" called Crybaby Boobie.

Crybaby Boobie tried to get out, but to no avail.

"I'm trapped! In this museum! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

Will Crybaby Boobie find a way out? Find out next time.
