The sun dip itself out of the night, illuminating it's bright and joyous appearance. As the sun rises, everyone living amongst each other, began to walk out of their houses, ready to embark with their daily routine.
Among those people, is person with a muscular body, one that could rival the golden star, Arnold. This person is an oddball to other people, as he walks around, wearing a skin tight suit, that exposed his bare muscles through the tight cloth.
This person, is a super hero. That's right, in this timeline, hero existed and it has become their daily life to fight crime and save the day, but… How on earth did they get such power? Well, no one knows, the entire universe is full of mystery, that no one would dare to know.
In this timeline, 80% of the world population we're gifted with extraordinary power, granting them the ability to become a meta-human. These people we're given a chance to fulfil a dream that no one has reached, however, not all of them are lucky, as the rest of it we'rent so lucky.
Years and Years ago, in Qing Qing China, a newborn baby is reported to be emitting with radiant light that brighten, even the street itself with light. This baby is a meta-human, giving it the name: luminescent baby, the very first human that ever got a super power, since then, many more children all across the world we're reported to have the same reports.
Soon, the government declared a new law, one that would balance the population of those gifted and those who aren't. The gifted we're granted the access to have a job, just by saving other people, while those who aren't well… things never changed.
More and more heroes we're born, and the more the number rises, the more those who rebel against them rises… But this isn't a story of those kind of heroes.
Not everyone is born perfect, equal, or better, no, the entire world is full of cruelty, and deception, you can't trust anything, but yourself.
"Take care!" Waving at a random couple, a teenager with long black hair, bid his farewell with them after they finished eating at his restaurant.
"Whoo! Another day, another sale!" This person, is Kaito Mimura. A boy who is prophesized to be-
"I know right! It felt like more and more people are coming at the shop!" Smiled by his friend who sat at the counter of the shop while looking at the greenboard at their side which says.
"Costumer Visit – 0" "Landlord Visit-10"
"Don't beat yourself, Kiruga-chan! Soon, many people will soon meet the wonders of Kaito's cook!" Kaito said with pure determination in his eyes, a cocky grin plastered at his face as he bawled his fist in victory.
"We're already cut short, don't you think it's time to like, go find a new job-"Just as the woman known as Kiruga finished her words, Kaito laughed it off, cutting her by the end of her words.
Kiruga rolled her eyes before opening the magazine. Kaito stood there smiling, despite the overwhelming false hope, overtaking his pride, he remained steadfast, he promised himself that he will continue his parent's dream.
"How long are we gonna continue this, boss? It's been like half a year now and we barely even get any costumers." From the kitchen, a middle-aged man emerges, wearing a white apron, mask, hairnet, and a formal cooking attire.
"As long as we reached my parent's dream!" Kaito said, with pure determination, yet again.
"Ugh… This is getting us nowhere." Kiruga sighed, shaking her head horizontally.
*DING*
Just then, his ears perked up at the sudden noise of the entrance door bell, he immediately rushed to greet the newcomer.
"WELCOME!" Kaito said, and caught the sight of five people entering the restaurant.
"KYA~ A costumer, and on top of that, it's a whole family too~!" Kaito said, mentally.
"Welcome to Universe Food, may I assist you a seat?" Kaito said in a well-mannered voice.
One of the family members with a lime-colored hair, giggles at the introduction Kaito had for them.
"This place looks so good~! How did we not know about this?" A golden-haired woman said, glancing around the entire restaurant, though, despite its bare minimum size of the room, it still holds a very creative way of making its entire theme be a hero-based quality.
"Who's that hero?" The child of the family, said while pointing at the figurine displayed at the counter where Kiruga is sitting. The design of the figurine was slick, with a cladded armor based off of a magenta theme suit.
"That's Decade!" Kaito said before gesturing his hand to the right, showing a poster of logo that resembles the face of the figurine.
"I've never seen a hero like him before, is he international, somehow?" The man of the group asked, piqued with interest.
"To be honest, I don't know, but all I remember was when he saved me from dying." Kaito said with a soft smile.
"Mama… Papa…" Surrounded by flames and fallen debris, a younger version of Kaito is stuck underneath a rubble, as he struggles to free himself.
The young boy thought that his end came into conclusion, however, something miraculous happened. As he slowly felt life is leaving his body, his eyes we're nearly shutting, until…
"I got you, kid…" Kaito couldn't see it clear, but he definitely knew he is safe. He touches his mask before passing out.
"Don't worry… We'll meet again, soon…"
Half a minute passed by, before Kiruga propel a paper directly at Kaito's head, using a rubber band.
"O-Oh! Sorry, I blurted out there for a second-may I bring you to your seat?"
"It's okay." The bob cut haired woman says. The young boss guided his them to their seats, they each ordered their own food, picking the best of the best that they could order in the restaurant. It was a tough day for both, Kiruga and Kaito, but it was their first costumer to begin with, so they have to atleast make it special.
When everything is all over, Kaito walks out from the kitchen, just as before the family could leave.
"Wait! Wait! Wait!" They stopped their tracks and look back at the young boss who is carrying two plastic bags of the same food they ordered. He handed it to them which very much surprises them.
"What's this for?" The golden-haired woman asked.
"Are you giving it away for us?" The bobcutted haired woman asked.
"Our restaurant barely even gets a costumer, and since you we're our first one this month, we would like to thank you with a free-ordered meal." He said with a smile.
"How thoughtful, but is it really okay for you? It took you all half an hour to cook our meal." The golden-haired woman asked, being doubtful.
"Don't worry, in Universe Food! We make your day better!" He said raising his thumbs horizontally before sliding it vertically as a sign of approvement.
"Thanks cutie! We'll make sure to come again!" The emerald haired woman said. Kaito huffed with confident and thanked them.
They gave them a five-star rating before saying goodbye, but the boy only gave a four-star review, simply because he didn't enjoy Kaito's admiration for heroes. However, the youthful leader seemed unfazed by that.
The family said goodbye to Kaito and returned to the street to resume their stroll, but they had no idea that something unexpected would happen when a tiny particle of light started to following them.
(Later)
"Potatoes, Flour, Baking Powder, Lettuce—Why is there so many?!"
Back to Universe food, Kiruga told Kaito that he needed to buy more ingredients if he wants to feed more costumer, and since the first visit blew up the status of his restaurant, lately, many more people started dining in and eating their foods.
Kaito didn't know how or why, but he thanked Lord, that's for sure. Nevertheless, he can't simply deny a request that stakes his store's life, he had to comply with Kiruga's will, and also, they're understaffed, he's the only one carrying the weight of responsibility on his shoulder.
Kaito proceed browsing through the supermarket section, adding various of delicious vegetables, meats, and fruits on the cart.
"This looks good, Peach…" Kaito smiled.
"Did you hear the news?"
"Yeah, masked vigilantes are all over the news again."
"Yeah, sometimes I worry that my kids would be in danger."
"When will the heroes even catch them?" Did I also mention that? No, well now you know.
Masked Riders or in this world, Masked Vigilantes are very much known throughout Japan, many people believed that they're a secret organization specialized to kill villains, however, no one really get to see or how they speak, but they took several photos and video footage of the vigilantes, fighting and killing villains.
Safe to say that, Kaito is displeased by how much those Masked vigilantes are viewed as a criminal and not heroes, considering the fact that they prevent the death of hundreds, Kaito decided to shrug it off before purchasing all the food and left.
On his way back to the restaurant, he heard a faint noise coming from the playground, his hair perked in interest and decided to see what the commotion was. His head lean slightly above the wall between him and the playground.
His eye scans the entire field, until he saw a familiar face from the distance. There, he saw the same boy from earlier.
"That's the same kid as before…" Kaito muttered, he decided he should take his leave, until he heard another noise, but this time, it didn't seem pleasant to his ears.
"Hey look! It's orphaned boy!" He heard children, laughing.
"Hey water boy, go fill up my bottle… actually don't cause your disgusting!"
"Tch…"
He glances back, eavesdropping on the children.
"Orphan? But who we're those people before?" Kaito muttered to himself and continued surveying.
"Honestly, your parents weren't that even great, they have such a useless Quirk, heh, they should have called All Might, instead, he can take on that villain like a boss!" The other kids said, irritating the child.
"Damn these kids." Kaito gripped his fist, he wasn't gonna let that kind of treatment be slide off… no, he had to teach these kids some manners.
"HEY!" He yelled out, catching their attention.
"Leave that kid alone or I'll call your parents!" Kaito warned, which ia effective and made them run away.
"SCRAM!" Scattering away like an ant, the bullies left, leaving only the bullied.
Kaito enters the playground.
"It's you… Tch! What? You want me to say thank you?" The boy snarked, which was enough to surprise Kaito.
"H-Hey! I was just trying to help!" Kaito defended himself, immediately.
"I don't need your help!" The boy exclaimed and walks away.
"H-HEY! Wait up!" Kaito followed after him.
"Stop following me…" The boy said with both of his hands inside the pocket of his hoodie.
"How can I not? You're walking all by your own, it's dangerous, especially with a city like this, you could get hurt." Kaito spoke back.
"Where are your parents, anyway?"
"Why should I tell you?" He asked, still giving him the cold shoulders.
"Hey! Just because you gave me a 4 star earlier, doesn't really change the fact that your alone and not with your parents." Kaito respond.
"They're not my parents, those we're my aunt and her friends…" The boy answered.
"Huh—well, where are they? They shouldn't be leaving you alone, especially in a place like this." Kaito said, which annoys the child much.
The young boy chooses not to say anything, and continues walking to—God knows where.
"Tell you what! How about I offer you something and you can stay at the restaurant while we wait for your aunt." Kaito suggested, which made the boy stop and look back.
"Can I get something to eat?" He asked.
"I-Uh, well, I invited you stay over, so yeah, I think you can." Kaito answered.
That day, both Kaito and the young boy, went to the restaurant, where he offered the horned-hat child an ice cream.
"Have a nice meal." Kaito said and sat alongside with him. The child picked up a spoon and took a taste of the Ice cream.
"You like it? I made it just exactly as how it's supposed to." Kaito asked, but the boy smacked the ice cream away.
"HEY!" The voice of Kaito and Kiruga alarmed the customers around, as their attention shifted at the noice of glass, shattering.
"It's bad." The boy confessed with a deterrent look.
"AAH! Kiruga-chan! Give me the broom!" Pulling away all the glass fragments, Kaito panicked. When Kiruga gives the young boss a dustpan and broom, he begins cleaning.
The child looks on pitifully; he truly enjoys the ice cream, but if he even remotely shows a display of delight, Kaito will definitely take advantage of it.
Once done, Kaito sighe and handed the dustpan to Kiruga, telling her to take it at the back, he stand infront of the costumers and bow, apologetically.
"I'm sorry everyone for all the noise—Uh! Enjoy your meal." The costumers, calmed down soon and resume to consuming their dish.
Kaito look back at the boy, he wanted to yell at him, but the cost of lecturing the child, will heavily impact the reputation of his restaurant. He sighes and decided to just leave the boy here to wait.
"What was all that noise?" Gento, the old man chef, leans out through the receptionist window.
"Nothing—just a glass shattering." Kaito answered, stealing a glance back at the young boy.
"Hey, isn't that the same kid from earlier? Where are his parents?" Gento asked.
"That's what I wanna know."
"Was he kidnapped?" Gento asked, all of a sudden.
"HUH?! No! no… H-He said that those we're his aunt and her friends, so." Kaito respond.
"Then why is he with you? Kidnap him?" Gento asked, again.
"No! Kaito responded, "I kind of brought him here after seeing him being picked on by other kids—I didn't kidnap him." With a sigh, Gento returned to his work, leaving Kaito to watch the boy.
As time went on, an increasing number of customers began to depart, leaving the boy seated at his dinner table. Kaito finally decided to walk up to him.
"It's been long hour." Kaito serves the young boy a dish of the identical meal that he had previously eaten with his aunt and her friends.
"I haven't gotten your name." Kaito sat down, acting as if the whole glass breaking didn't happen.
"Kota…" The boy muttered. "Thank you for the food." He muttered under his breathe, gently picking up the spoon and slowly took a bite.
"Kota, our name sounds similar, you know." Since he had been waiting here for over three hours, Kaito thought it would be a good idea to strike up a discussion with the youngster before his aunt picked him up.
"What's your name?" Kota asked, this time.
"Kaito Mimura, but you can call me Kaito." The young boss answered, smiling a little that he is slowly making a progress.
"So earlier, those kids from the playground… Just want to let you know that what they say isn't true okay." He continued, he reasoned that it would be preferable to provide some encouragement because Kota's interactions with the bullies from earlier appeared to be ongoing.
"That's none of your business." Kota said while keeping his gaze lower. Kaito didn't understand what's wrong with this kid, he was about to say something, until.
*DRING!*
The entrance bell, rang, and from the door, came his aunt and her friends.
"Kota!" The bobcut haired woman exclaimed, delighted and relieved to see her nephew unharmed. Kaito smiled and stand up.
"Hello, nice to meet you again." He lowered his body, greeting them.
"Hey! It's cutie boy!" The same lime-haired woman said, which made Kaito nervous.
"I-Uh, well… Uh, I brought him here." He motioned his hand to the boy, who still stayed at his seat and eating his meal.
"I'm sorry you had to go through all that trouble." His aunt says.
"Oh, it's all right, besides, I was willing to bring him here after I saw how he is being bullied." Kaito explains.
"Bullied?!" The bulky, an exclaimed, furious by this information.
"Tiger, calm yourself—ah, anyways, thank you for the help." She said and was about to grab a couple of cash from her wallet, but the young boss stops her.
"Oh, no, no, no, it's fine…!" Kaito reassures her.
"Really? Thank you very much." The woman gave a reassuring smile, and walks over to Kota as Kaito stood there, a small smile carved at his face.
"It's nice, isn't it? Ever since he lost his parents, he has nothing but us." The bulky man said and stand beside with Kaito.
"What?" Kaito raised his eyebrows at that information.
"Oh, the names Yawara."
(Yawara Chatora: Is the strongest member of the Wild Wild Pussycats, he is very much the tank of the team, providing more support for civillians who are stuck in a huge rubble, his quirk, Pliabody allows him to bend his body likea rubber, providing a huge advantage on a battlefield or when trying to pushed himself to a small tight space.)
"Kaito." The two shook hands." But, what do you mean by lose his parents?"
"Are you aware of who the Water Hose duo?" Yawara asked.
"You mean the two heroes who passed away three months ago… Wait, don't tell me…" Word's cannot describe how surprise Kaito was, he turn his head back to the boy and with a soften gaze, from that moment, he realized why he's acing like the way he is.
"His parents we're…" Kaito paused.
"He used to smile a lot, but now." The lime haired woman says, otherwise.
"He's just like that now."
(Water Hose Duo: Izou, and Mika Izumi are two aspiring heroes, they are well known around as the best rescue heroes who carries a water-type base quirk. Three months ago, they died after being brutally killed by a villain.)
Knowing about the full story behind their death, Kaito couldn't predict that life will find it's way to had them both meet up, his gaze, still softened, worried for the boy's sake.
Kaito and Kota say their goodbyes as sun sets. The same apply with his staff worker who already left after getting their salary, leaving the young boss, some time to himself to reflect what he has learnt.
"He's just like me… only different."
