Chapter 1

On a snowy field, two children stood together as enemies converged on them.

One was a young boy, and beside him, was a young girl.

Both looked tired and had injuries across their bodies.

But in turn, the snowy mountain they were on had many people laid defeated, wounds across their bodies, unable to fight after the two had come together, and defeated them.

"They just keep coming. Like cockroaches." The girl called out.

The boy looks at her, showing a determined smile. "Not stopping now are you?"

The girl half smirks. "Just about to ask you the same thing actually, I can keep going for a while yet."

"Don't worry about me, lets take these bastards out together." The boy tightens his hand, readying to fight.

All around them, were a group of people dressed in cloaks, weapons in hand.

The boy and girl looked to one another, their fingers curling into fists.

"I'll take the left, you take the right." The girl advised.

The boy playfully salutes. "Leave the right to me."

They raised their hands, energies swirling around their hands as they activated their unique powers, aiming at the enemy, unleashing torrents of energy, bombarding the enemies coming closer...

"Ugh..." Laying on a bed, a young man tosses and switches off the alarm ringing beside his bed.

Brushing his to the neck length golden blonde hair, with sky blue tips on his bangs, out of his sapphire blue eyes, the young man begins lifting his head off the pillow.

Yawning, the boy named Kazuto looks to the light streaming through the windows.

"…Those dream again…that girl…I didn't even see how it ended..." Kazuto murmured, rubbing his eyes, when he felt something fall against his head.

He looked, and saw next to his face, was a stuffed white Dragon plush.

He looked at the plush with a small smile, before he pulled himself off the bed, his arms firing into the air as he continued stretching.

Cracking his shoulder, he walked and exited his bedroom, going towards the bathroom on the second floor of his house, stepped inside of the shower, and begins doing his morning routine.

After he was finished, he came to his bedroom, and got dressed in his school uniform, consisting of a black blazer with white accents, a white shirt with a black ribbon tied there, and finally black pants, leaving the top two buttons undone, and once checking he had everything, he exited his room.

His feet whisked him down the stairs, seeing that at the bottom of the stairs, his grandmother, an elderly woman in her late sixties stood there, showing a toothy smile.

"Morning Grams." He smiles with a little yawn.

The elderly woman snickers. "Kazuto, what is a baby shark? And I don't mean an actual shark baby."

Kazuto snickered. "Eeh, its a song, usually for kids."

"So that's what those kids were talking about. I'd love to hear it, can you get it up on the little device in the kitchen?"

"I can if you want, but I'm not sure you'd love it Grams, might drive you nuts." Kazuto walked to the kitchen with a laugh.

The old woman followed, her eyes displaying an excitable look to them. "So, are you making breakfast my dear grandson?"

"Sure, I've got breakfast, Grams." The boy fiddled around in the kitchen, and soon put on some eggs and bacon. "Aah right Grams, gonna be late tonight, got work, pulling a double."

The woman showed an elegant smile. "I think its because you've got a girl there, and you're embarrassed to tell me who it really is. Can I take a guess on who it might be Kazuto?"

Kazuto snickers ever so slightly. "Ooh yeah, if that's what you wanna believe Grams, I wont stop you."

Kazuto's grandmother playfully rolled her eyes. "Its fine you don't want to tell me, I'll find out eventually anyway. I have a way and means."

Kazuto gives her a curious look, finding it intriguing by how she'd do that.

But he shrugged, and continued making breakfast, while his grandmother showed a proud smile on her face.

However, as he made breakfast, he noticed his grandmother looking a little faint. "You alright Grams? Taken your med's this morning?"

"I have~" Kazuto looked amused at his grandmothers blasé nature. "I'm alright my boy, just my old bones and body catching up with my youthful spirit. Don't worry about me." Kazuto slowly hums, and quickly dishes out the food once it was made. "By the way, been keeping up your training regime?"

"Yeah, been keeping in shape."

"Good, its good to keep a healthy body. You never know when you're going to need it."

Kazuto curiously stares at his grandmother, as she usually asked that question.

Though he put it to her just wanting the best for him.

Sitting down together, Kazuto and his grandmother casually chit-chatted away about various things, though Kazuto could see his grandmother had something on her mind, something that she wouldn't tell him about, only making him worry about her.

The day started off as pretty normal, and Kazuto went to his class. He walked through a sea of students, who spoke rather pleasantly to him, so he exchanged pleasantries as well to all those that spoke to him.

Though when he got to his classroom, he was suddenly bombarded by a young woman with brown hair, glasses, and a perverted look on her face.

"No." Kazuto rejected.

"I didn't say anything yet!" The girl complains.

"You didn't have to, I can see that look in your eye, its a no." Kazuto strolled towards his seat.

The girl named Aika Kiryuu gave semi bemused, and semi serious eyes.

"The Prince needs a Princess, and if rumours are to be believed, then the Princess of the school and you have been hanging out after school. Going to tell me about this?"

"What's to tell? Yumi-chan and I work at the same place, we talk, and we're friends."

"Well yeah, but you know who I heard you were seeing?"

Kazuto let out a small breath. "I'm going to dread this, but who is it?"

"I heard rumours that you and Rias Gremory-senpai met one another secretly, and are dating."

Kazuto gives her a strange look. "You shouldn't believe rumours, I've interacted with her, maybe twice when we've bumped into one another. She's certainly a beautiful woman, I can't deny that, but we haven't really talked to one another all that much."

"Aah right. I get it now, this 'bumping' into her really was you enticing her to your job, and then you allure the Senpai with sweet promises of kisses, and cuddles~?"

"Exactly yes, I secretly work as a host, and seduce clients so they can be my Onee-sama's and teach me naughty things while treating me kindly~"

Kiryuu began laughing, while two boys rushed over, one was bald and the other wore glasses.

They were called Matsuda and Motohama.

They got right in Kazuto's face, who quietly pushed them back.

"Damn handsome! I heard you're with Gremory-senpai!"

"And what's this about Himejima-senpai and you dating?!"

Kazuto rolled his eyes at their antics.

"If you guys used your heads, rather than think with your libido..." Kazuto's eyes looked amused, with the two boys scowling. "...then you'd come to realize that I don't interact with them. And even if I did, that would be our business, not yours."

Matsuda and Motohama scowled.

But then a few girls rushed closer, and began yelling at the pair.

"You leave the Prince alone!"

"Yeah, go away you awful beings!"

"Disappear!"

Kazuto blinked, then shrugged as Kiryuu laughed at the sight.

"By the way Kazuto-kun, I also think you and Koneko-chan would be good."

Kazuto slaps himself in the head. "So, just the entire Occult Research Club then?"

"Pretty much~!"

Kazuto let out an exasperated sigh while Kiryuu continued to laugh rather loudly.

After school that day with nothing of note really happening, Kazuto went towards his job.

It was a small cafe, but it did bring a lot of fringe benefits.

Like being able to get discounts on the food, and the drinks if he so desired, and he got to speak to a fair few good interesting people. Though there was a downsides to speaking to the not so pleasant people.

When he got inside, he saw a blonde haired young woman, his age, wearing her school uniform and an apron at the same time. Having a mole under one of her beautiful blue grey eyes, she was quite the beauty, and Kazuto couldn't deny people calling her a Princess was quite deserved, as she was a nice sweet girl.

Her name is Yumi Kiba, and she was known as the Princess of the school.

When she saw him, she gave a small wave.

"Kazuto-kun, I didn't know you were working today."

"Yeah, picked up an extra shift."

"Then at least we can spend even more time together." She said with a soft voice, as Kazuto went into the back room, and got an apron.

He quickly came out again, looking towards Yumi, who was behind the counter, serving some customers, so he began doing the duties.

Yumi took a glance at him, before turning to a customer.

Kazuto then got on with his duties, and glanced at Yumi who would look at him at some points.

"Something on my face?" Kazuto joked, and pulled a funny face, something that made Yumi smile to herself.

"No...aah, I mean...erm...aha, s-say Kazuto-kun, are you busy on Sunday?" She said a little shyly.

"Erm, no, I'm free. Wanna meet up?"

"Sure, sounds great." Yumi inhales, her heart thudding in her chest. "I need to get something from the back, I'll be right out."

Yumi disappeared into the back, leaving Kazuto manning the counter.

As the shift went on, a girl with long black hair came into the cafe.

She wore a cute dress that showed off her assets, and she made sure to give off an innocent appearance as she walked over.

Getting to the counter, the young woman bequeathed a smile towards him.

"Hello, my names Yuuma~"

As peppy as she could, she spoke towards Kazuto who in turn gave a soft smile right back.

"Hey Yuuma-san, what can I get you today?"

Yuuma pursed her lips, and pushed a finger to said lips. "What's good here?"

"The special of the day is nice, the cappuccinos are pretty good too."

"Hmmm, well maybe a cappuccino?"

"One cup coming up right away."

Yuuma smiled, as he turned to the machine to make one.

As he did, she moistens her lips.

He turned back, presenting the coffee. "Here you go."

"Thank you." Yuuma giggled, and paid for the drink, but then stopped, and peered into his eyes. "Say, this is going to be out of the blue...but, I did have another motive for coming here today."

"You did?"

"That's right. Actually, I have two tickets to a concert on Sunday, and I was wondering, if you would be free? I've heard of you, the Prince of Kuoh, I wouldn't mind going together with you~ How about it?"

"Well...Sunday huh...sorry, I have plans."

Yuuma's face takes a notable dip. "Excuse me?"

Noticing her change in tone to a more annoyed one, he tried to smooth it over. "I got asked out by a good friend of mine."

Yuuma sharpened her eyes. "I think you're lying to me."

"I assure you I'm not."

Yuuma breathed through her nose. "No, this can't be happening again. You, are rejecting someone like me? Seriously!?"

"Eh...it's alright, you don't have to get angry..."

"I'm completely calm!" Kazuto cringed as Yumi came out of the back room, seeing Yuuma, and Kazuto, feeling what Yuuma was, and became suspicious. "It's fine, rejection always happens to me anyway! Don't feel bad…" She paused when she saw Yumi approach, and shuddered. "Shit…"

Yumi got before her, noticing others speaking about Yuuma, who was shaking with anger, and worry that she had been found out by Yumi.

"Excuse me, the other customers are becoming worried..."

Yuuma deeply sighed.

She didn't know what she was going to do.

She looked at Kazuto, and then towards Yumi.

It was clear as day that Yumi knew what Yuuma was, and Yuuma didn't hide the fact that she also was aware of who Yumi was as well.

Yuuma grasped the cup in her hand, and turned to Yumi.

"Leave me alone!" She launches the cup at Yumi with high speeds.

Yumi went to move, when Kazuto did something that surprised her, and he moved fast enough to slap the cup down to the ground before it hit either of them.

They looked to Yuuma, but she was already running down the street.

"Shit, what the hell was that about?" Kazuto murmured, while Yumi looked over him.

"That was…yeah, that was crazy, wasn't it?"

Kazuto rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, anyway, I'll clean this."

Yumi looked amused at what was going on, and watched Kazuto clean up.

"Did he just move really fast?" Yumi pondered. " He reacted really well to that drink, though he does train his body, so maybe it was just reflexes…hmm, at least the Fallen Angel is gone for now."

Yumi then thought of Yuuma, and wondered what her true motives were, knowing she'd have to inform her Master of this situation.

More than that, Yumi looked towards Kazuto, and saw his movements, furrowing her eyebrows ever so slightly, but for now, pushed it to the back of her mind.

A small time later, Yumi went towards the Occult Research Clubroom, and entered.

She saw Rias, a young voluptuous woman with long red hair, sat together with her Queen, a slightly more voluptuous young woman with black hair tied into a ponytail, a woman named Akeno Himejima, and finally a young small girl with white hair, eating an orange.

In fact, everyone was eating an orange, Yumi didn't know why.

"Hello Yumi, want an orange? Koneko just got them on her request, we have like a months supply." Rias offered.

"Erm…sure, thanks." Yumi took an orange and began eating it, while mulling over on what happened, something Rias noticed.

"Ara Yumi, you okay?" Rias asked kindly.

Yumi shakes her head. "Buchou, I have to tell you. I came across a Fallen Angel today."

"A Fallen Angel?" Rias didn't sound pleased. "What happened? Did you fight? Though I didn't sense any fighting within Kuoh..."

"No, we didn't fight. In fact, she was surprised I was there. At my contract. She came in and she was speaking to Kazuto-kun."

"Kazuto...right, yes, the boy you..." Akeno lightly tapped Rias, who in turn giggled awkwardly. "Anyway, so the Fallen Angel came to him? What did she say?"

Rias became concerned, wondering what the Fallen Angel was up to.

"I didn't hear the majority of the conversation. She seemed to be trying to win a date with him from what he told me. And when she saw me, she quickly fled the scene. And he said she acted strange when he kindly rejected her. It was very odd Buchou."

Rias didn't look like she was happy in the slightest.

"What is this Fallen Angel up to? Targeting him...Yumi, you've spent more time with him than us, do you know anything about him that we don't? Like, maybe a Sacred Gear perhaps?"

"I can't say that I have sensed anything, Sacred Gear, or anything. To be honest, whenever I am close to him, I don't really sense anything at all."

Rias furrowed her brows. "That's curious...could he be the one concealing his identity from us?"

Yumi shook her head. "Kazuto-kun's always been nice to me, if he was aware I was a Devil, he's never made it obvious, and he's never said anything about us. So I'm going to have to assume he doesn't know about the supernatural."

As Yumi thought about it, she wondered more about Kazuto, and what if Rias was right.

But she didn't have any concrete evidence either, so she wasn't sure.

Akeno hummed. "Ara, a real mystery after all. So, he is gaining the attention of the Fallen Angels but we can't sense anything of note from him, perhaps they are more knowledgeable than we are. Though, we can't simply go and ask them, we have to play it carefully with their leaders potentially involved, don't we Buchou?"

"Yes, that's right Akeno. But first, I want more information on Kazuto-kun, why Yumi can't sense anything. Koneko, may I ask you get close to him, even without...your unique skill, you should be able to tell something's about him through your neko side, right?"

"I can try Buchou." Koneko said from the corner of the room, keeping her head down.

"Great. Then Akeno, I'll leave personal history to you. Yumi, I'll also let you speak directly to him, ask him subtle questions, and see if there's anything you can get. Finally, I'll also do some research. But, at all times, we have to keep eyes on this boy, if he is being targeted by the Fallen Angels in my town, then I wont stand for it."

[Yes Buchou!]

Being rather pumped up, the group got to work right away, Rias leaned back, and furrowed her brows, wondering more about what made Kazuto special, and why he was being targeted like this.

A small time later, Kazuto went back home, and put his bag down, turning to his grandmother.

When she saw her grandsons thoughtful eyes, she tilted her neck. "Something going on Kazuto?"

"Actually yeah. I came across a strange girl."

Kazuto's grandmother raised a brow. "Something happen with this girl?"

"She acted a bit crazed. Not sure what that was about. Though, something else did happen..."

Kazuto's grandmother raised a brow. "What's that?"

"I moved quite fast today...it was quite weird, like my dreams..."

Kazuto's grandmother pets the side of her, so he goes over, where her hand finds his.

"Dreams can bring out many different possibilities, unfortunately real life isn't the same. I'm sure its just because you're athletic, and you're keeping up with your training regime, a healthy body and all that."

Kazuto nods slowly, glancing down and saw for a moment a glow.

When he fully looked, he saw nothing.

"What was that?"

"What was what my dear?" The elderly woman pants his hand, Kazuto's eyes flicker, letting out a little yawn. "I didn't notice anything. Anyway, its been a long day, why don't you get a nice hot bath, and get some rest."

Kazuto nods slowly. "You okay Grams? Have a good day?"

"I did actually, connecting with my little friend group~"

"I'm glad~ Well, I'm off for a bath..." Kazuto stands up, and goes up the stairs, but stops, and turns to his grandmother. "You know Grams, they might be dreams...but, if they were real, I think it would be pretty interesting."

The elderly woman smiles. "It would be, wouldn't it?"

Kazuto grins, and takes off up the stairs, while the elderly woman looks on, her eyes narrowing ever so slightly.

Meanwhile, Yuuma returned back to her allies, and she didn't look happy in the slightest. No, in fact she looked rather pissed off at that moment in time.

The trio of Fallen Angels, Kalawarner, Mittelt, and Dohnaseek looked at said woman and saw that she was a bit upset, angry and scared wrapped up into one.

Mittelt showed a small humble smile, but Yuuma snarled "Not now loli-sama!" causing Mittelt to bite back her worries.

"Ah, my favourite Fallen Angel…" Dohnaseek attempted to speak, but all he got was a middle finger from Yuuma as she strode on by him.

Kalawarner scowled when Yuuma even gave her a dismissive look at the same time.

"What the hell is wrong with you Raynare? Sure, yell at Dohnaseek, but not Mittelt."

Mittelt agreed, while Dohnaseek snarled but so did Kalawarner.

Raynare steeled her will, and turned towards Kalawarner with sad eyes. "Well, I was rejected by a high school boy, and what's worse, the damn Devils got in the way. I had it all figured out. Go on a date, lure him to us, take his power, and then...damn it all to hell! This was for Azazel-sama...but now, its not going to how we planned...all I wanted to do was kill the boy, kill Asia, and get the hell out of here...but now, the Devils know about us, we have to be smart, and think about how to deal with this..."

Dohnaseek went over to Raynare, and touched her shoulder, only to stop when she shot a glare in his direction. "Raynare, it seems this boy rejected you, but don't worry, I wont let your efforts go to waste. I shall get him myself."

"Geez, don't do anything stupid Dohnaseek. We are on a mission from Azazel-sama to recruit Sacred Gear wielders, while having Asia to deal with, we got tipped off about this boy, but we aren't going to be doing stupid shit, got it?" Raynare murmured, as Dohnaseek raised his fist to the sky.

"Don't worry about it Raynare, I can make the plan go off without a hitch, and without those damn Devils getting in the way, they might be on alert for you, but not for me. Just leave it with me, I've got to go and get some extra Exorcists, need fodder after all."

"Don't be a fool!" Raynare snapped.

But, Dohnaseek with determination in his eyes, took off, leaving everyone else behind.

Mittelt took a snack out, and began chopping down, while Raynare glanced at her.

Mittelt offered her some, so Raynare smiled, and accepted. "Thank you Mittelt, I'm sorry for yelling, been quite stressed lately. I shouldn't have taken that out on you."

"Its fine, don't worry about it." Mittelt said sweetly.

"Thank you, Mittelt." Raynare slowly sighs, Kalawarner looking between them. "Mittelt, send Freed after that stupid shit Dohnaseek, he's going to do something, and I want to know what our options are should he fail."

"Right away." Mittelt said with a keen grin.

As Raynare ate, Kalawarner turned towards her curiously. "You know he's going to be a liability."

Raynare sighs deeply. "All he does is cause me pain, and misery. He's a reckless fool. Kalawarner, Mittelt, in the event that stupid asshole does do something stupid, we have to get a plan in motion to distance ourselves from him, alright? We have Azazel-sama's permission to be here to recruit Sacred Gear wielders, Gremory and Sitri aren't stupid enough to cause war between our factions and knowing if they did do anything to us, then Azazel-sama wouldn't be pleased, but our first objective is that we will have to make sure they understand Dohnaseek is going off on his own."

Kalawarner hums in thought, and wonders what's going to happen now…

The next day at school, Kazuto casually strolled along towards his first lesson, while Koneko was beginning to follow him.

So she approached her Senpai, while putting her hands out in front of her, her expression was that of calm, and stoic.

Kazuto went to the class, and was about to go inside, when Koneko approached.

He glanced towards her, when he felt her tug at his blazer.

"Aah, hey Toujou-chan, you alright? Quite rare to see you up here."

"…Yes, Senpai. I'm well."

Kazuto raised a brow, as Koneko went silent.

She didn't say anything for over ten seconds, he looked at her curiously.

"Something I can help you with?"

Koneko inhaled through her nose.

As she did, she blinks at the young man curiously.

"Toujou-chan?" Kazuto called out to her once more, finding it worrisome that she hasn't said anything yet. "Want some sweets?"

Koneko's lips tremble a little, breaking her usual stoicism for a few moments. "…Sweets?"

"Yeah, want some?" As he said it, he fished out a small bag of sweets. "Besides, gotta be a good Senpai, right~?"

Koneko accepted the sweets, and bowed. "Thank you Senpai, I have to go."

"Didn't you want to ask me something?"

"...Sweets, I was embarrassed."

"Well, anytime Koneko-chan. See you around~" Kazuto waved, so she walked off.

But then she stopped, and faced him. "Senpai, do you like your current life?"

Kazuto raises an intrigued brow. "I don't hate it, why're you asking?"

"I was wondering...if your life changed, would you be more happy?"

"Depends on the change, I guess." Kazuto said truthfully.

Koneko nods slowly. "...Senpai, I..."

Kazuto raised a brow, seeing something was going on with Koneko. "Everything alright Koneko-chan? Has something happened?"

Koneko curls her lips barely noticeably up, and then shakes her head. "No, I'm okay. I'm glad, you're living a good life, Senpai."

"Thanks...?" Kazuto was curious on why she would say it like that.

But then saw Koneko take off, so he shrugged, and walked to his classroom, thinking about what Koneko said.

Later on that day, Koneko reported her findings to Rias, while Akeno and Yumi hung out on the background, sharing a look when Koneko said something surprising.

"...I think we should leave Senpai alone."

Rias folds her arms curiously. "Koneko? Is something the matter? Did he say something to you?"

"No, but Senpai likes his current life, we shouldn't interfere with his life now."

Rias looks towards Koneko, seeing her head down.

Koneko went quiet, so Rias lightly pets her head. "Don't worry about it, we'll just do more digging and see what's truly going on with this boy, and if possible, we'll leave him alone, I don't want to involve anyone that's an innocent."

"Yes...Senpai's nice, lets leave him be."

Rias furrows her brows in thought. "Anyway, Akeno, has your findings brought anything to light?"

Akeno giggled awkwardly. "He has a grandmother."

Rias twitched an eyebrow. "That's it?"

Akeno shrugged. "Pretty much, I couldn't tell you anything else. Well, apart from stuff that we'd naturally already know. Like he has a job, he's on the swim team, the friends he hangs out with, he's the Prince of the school. School records, says his grandmother is his guardian, so maybe grandma knows more than he does?"

Rias hums. "Perhaps she does. Koneko, tell me, during your interactions, did you get a good read on him? Like maybe he's hiding because someone's after him or anything?"

"…He's kind, generous with sweets, and he likes cats."

Rias nods along curiously. "Ooh, how'd you know?"

"Because I've seen him treat cats nicely, and he offers me sweets." Koneko retorts.

Rias nods slowly. "I see…well, at least we've established he's got a grandmother, and a sweet and cat lover…this isn't going well…"

Yumi hums. "I think it wouldn't be so bad if we just ask a few things, right Buchou? If the Fallen Angels are going for him..."

Akeno nods along. "Ara, I think something's happening here to Kazuto-kun, as its been over a year, and now we're only questioning who he is? Someone hid him very well in a Devils town for none of us to be remotely suspicious of him."

Rias thought what they said did make sense, while Koneko remained unusually quiet. "Yes, you're right. Okay, we'll make contact with Kazuto-kun, and see what's truly going on. Yumi, could you invite him to the Occult Research Club, its best if we do it here."

"Sure, I don't mind." Yumi said with a soft smile.

"Great, then lets prepare to meet Kazuto-kun, and see what's really going on with him."

They all nod their heads.

Yumi took in a deep breath, and thought about Kazuto, wondering what was going on with him.

Though like Rias, and the others, Yumi didn't believe Kazuto would hide who he is, but she is worried that Fallen Angels had taken an interest in him.

Later that day, Kazuto was in work once more, and casually was serving customers. Yumi came in just after half four in the afternoon, and strode towards Kazuto.

"Hey, Kazuto-kun. Sorry I'm a little late."

"No worries, you can pay me later~" Kazuto jokingly snickered.

Yumi gives an enthused smile, and goes behind the counter.

As she did, she saw Kazuto manning the counter and doing another customers orders.

She wondered how she would approach this, knowing that her King was a little unsure of Kazuto. She knew Rias didn't think he was a threat, but even Yumi had to admit that things weren't adding up when it came to Kazuto.

So she approached Kazuto when he finished with a customer. "Say Kazuto-kun. Can I ask you a question?"

Kazuto raised a brow. "Sure, what is it Yumi-chan?"

"Erm…do you, remember that girl?"

"The one who threw her drink?" Kazuto curiously asks.

Yumi nods her head. "Yes, her. What did you think about her?"

"She was clearly quite stressed, and was easily offended when someone rejected her, even when giving valid reasons for doing so."

Yumi shows a sweet smile. "Yes, I thought the same. But I meant…about her, did you get the impression she was, something else?"

"Something else?" Kazuto wondered.

"Yeah, you know…if she was, I don't know, something…" Yumi saw his quizzing eyes, so she dropped it for now. "…something more than she appeared to be?"

"Like a stalker? Hope not, don't need a Yuno Gasai in my life."

Yumi snorted. "Yes, we all don't need anything like that. So, are we still on for Sunday?"

"Sure, sounds great."

Yumi gives an appreciative smile. "Also Kazuto-kun, have you ever had an interest in the occult? Like you know, things like magicians, and different beings around the world."

"Beings...?"

"Yeah, like Angels, Devils…things like that?" Yumi adds sheepishly.

Kazuto composed his thoughts. "Well, I've always thought that there's more than meets the eye. In fact, I sometimes think there's something a bit weird with me."

Yumi narrows her brows. "In what way?"

"Sometimes, I…okay, before I say, I'm not crazy, alright?"

Yumi looks amused. "I don't think you're crazy, Kazuto-kun. So, you were saying?"

Kazuto scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, I often get these weird dreams, like I can fly, I have magical powers, and there's this girl involved… Usually, I'd say to someone saying that, its just a dream, overactive imaginations. But, it feels…real. I don't really know how to describe it, but it feels like I've lived it, but I haven't lived anything like that in my life, and as far as I know I don't have magic powers."

Yumi adopts a kind look to her face, pulling closer to the young man. "Are these dreams bothering you?"

"I wouldn't say bothering me, more like…I find it weird how real it feels. I've spoken to grandma about it, but she just waves it off, and says I'm probably just imagining things. Still, I just find it really odd. Ever have anything like that?"

"I suppose in a way." Yumi revealed. "I used to live in…an orphanage, and I dreamed about living a different life, where I could go out, and do whatever I would want to do."

"I'm sorry about that Yumi-chan, I didn't know you lived in an orphanage."

Yumi could hear the compassion in his voice, its why she didn't believe for a second that he was actually a bad person, but she still was curious about what he was saying.

"No, don't worry about it. That was…that was the past, and now, I've got a good life. I have Buchou, and the others."

"Buchou? What did Gremory-senpai do?"

Yumi giggled awkwardly. "Been a really good friend, to me."

"Aah, that's nice Yumi-chan. Glad you have a good friend like that. All I've got is Kiryuu who keeps commenting on sexual stuff, and shipping me with half damn school."

Yumi snorts, as Kazuto snickers as well.

After his shift for the evening and splitting from Yumi, Kazuto went to go and pick up some stuff from the store that his grandmother wished for him to get.

When finishing inside of the shop, he began travelling back home.

He thought he'd get a good chance to cut through the park, as it would shorten his trip a good deal.

However, while he walked through the park, he felt a chill go down his spine.

Like something inside of him was reacting to a presence.

So his eyes begin to look around the area, shifting left to right, seeing no one was around.

He looked behind him subtly.

But again, he didn't see anything.

"This doesn't feel right…how odd…" The young man chose to quicken the pace, and moved faster through the park.

When he came to a nearby fountain, he felt something above him.

His senses screamed at him to look, so his eyes shifted up.

When he did, he saw a man in a long coat, and a fedora, Dohnaseek.

His hand lit up with a light that looked dark blue in colour, his eyes radiating a sadistic look that Kazuto didn't like.

But that wasn't what caught his attention the most.

Behind him, were big thick black wings, like a crows wings.

"My, you saw me, did you?"

"What the hell are you?" Kazuto demands.

Dohnaseek laughed. "So you're the little shit who rejected Raynare?"

"Who the hell is Raynare?" Kazuto demanded, confused.

Dohnaseek's lips curl in a deranged manner. "You see, Raynare is someone that I feel devotion to, even if she exaggerates, she's pretty good, so I wanted to show her the fruits of my labour for her. And what better than to capture a little bastard like you?"

"Capture me huh? Sorry, I don't tend to be captured by men." Kazuto joked, though his eyes remained serious.

"Funny, aren't you? The name is Dohnaseek, remember it for the remaining time you have left." Dohnaseek took aim, and he fired his light.

In the air, the light formed a spear.

Kazuto noticed as it came to him, it felt like time was slowing down, his eyes captured the path of the spear.

He shot forward, his feet pressing off of the ground, and fired himself so high into the air, it even astounded Dohnaseek.

"How did you do that?!" Dohnaseek snarled.

Kazuto looked, seeing the spear pierced into the ground, as he began falling.

He braced himself for impact onto the ground, but his feet landed on the ground and he felt completely fine.

"What the…like my dreams…" Kazuto murmured, exasperation in his eyes for Dohnaseek.

Dohnaseek was livid right now, and light streams out of his hand, forming another light weapon, coming down face to face with Kazuto, at a distance, so Kazuto took off, his feet sprinting faster than Dohnaseek could imagine.

"Have this!" Quicker than Dohnaseek was able to conceive, Kazuto's fist smashed deeply into Dohnaseek's face, his face twisted around the fist, and propelled him across the park, smashing through the water fountain, with water flying up, then crashing down onto the ground.

Dohnaseek skids across the ground, pain rippling through his face, smashing against a tree.

Dohnaseek's face began to bleed, his nose bent in a shape that wasn't normal, while slowly pulling himself up.

"Y-You broke my nose?!"

Kazuto looked at his fist in bewilderment.

But then pushed his thoughts back for now.

"I suggest getting lost before you get another punch!"

"You want some of this!? Fine, I'll show you my power!" Dohnaseek charged him.

He flew fast, and he came at Kazuto, spear in his right hand.

When he swung for Kazuto, he leaps back, avoiding the slash, so Dohnaseek throws his at Kazuto who was airborne.

Kazuto widens his eyes, and manages to narrowly avoid it by twisting his body in the air, shocking Dohnaseek a seemingly normal human was this capable.

"How are you doing this!?"

"Got a sadistic Grams that likes me being in tip top shape." Kazuto reports, and jets forward.

Dohnaseek was blindsided by his speed, shocked when Kazuto appeared before him.

"Fuck off!" Dohnaseek summons a sword of light, and goes to strike Kazuto with it.

As the sword came down, Dohnaseek left himself open to a body shot, so Kazuto tightened his fist, slamming said fist deep into Dohnaseek's gut as hard as he could do, the older man's eyes nearly popping out of his head as he was jettisoned to the sky.

"Shit…I don't know my own strength." Kazuto murmured, seeing blood shooting out of Dohnaseek's mouth as he continues flying into the air.

Spreading his wings, Dohnaseek pauses, his hand resting on his ribcage.

"Y-You bastard! You broke my ribs!"

Kazuto showed anger in his eyes. "You're trying to kill me you asshat, and you're getting pissed because I'm defending myself? You're actually crazy."

Dohnaseek felt the rage inside of his body increasing.

He flew down, holding his damaged area.

"If this is how you want to play it, then let me introduce you to my friends!"

He threw his hand out, and from that, Kazuto saw something surprising.

He saw men and women dressed in clothing with crosses along them, and in their hands, it looked like a light sword, and holstered to their side, was a gun, and Dohnaseek's eyes filled with his anger.

"Take out your guns, and fire at the bastard!" Dohnaseek ordered.

Kazuto counted around twelve, and all aimed their guns at him.

He knew there was no way he would be able to avoid all of them at once.

"Fire!"

When Dohnaseek said that, Kazuto felt something within him.

Heat...rising to the surface.

He didn't know what it was, and why it was there.

It didn't feel like adrenaline at all, nor did it feel like he was afraid or anything.

No, it felt like something else.

[Partner…]

Kazuto heard a voice.

He looked around, but saw nothing.

That's when the heat became more intense.

It was hot, and it felt overbearing, but it didn't feel painful.

[Release it partner, that burning power! Fire it out!]

Kazuto widened his eyes, snapping back to reality to see many bullets heading for him.

He looked down, and saw his hands glowing in a beautiful energy, recalling his dreams, and mimicked what he did there.

"Haaaaaaaaah!" Kazuto flung his hands out.

Erupting from his fingertips, and palms, firing it off towards the incoming projectiles.

The power surprised Dohnaseek, watching the energy soaring through the sky, and blast into the Exorcists.

He saw a good few being blown away by the attack, dying upon impact, while some escaped with harsh wounds.

"…W-What are you?" Dohnaseek demanded accusingly. "Get him! Get him now!"

The Exorcists left all charge for him, Kazuto counting six, half the amount he saw beforehand.

All came at him with blades, and like before, he saw them even easier than Dohnaseek.

"Die scum!" When one came for him, Kazuto avoids the slash, and slams his elbow deep into the man's face, shooting him all the way to a nearby tree, breaking a chunk of the bark off said tree, while the mans eyes closed.

"Have this!" Another came in with a few slashes.

Kazuto read through the slashes, and avoids each of them, then saw an opening, so he moves within the woman's guard, and grabs her hand.

"Sorry, taking this." Kazuto rips the sword out of her hand, and palms her in the stomach, propelling her a good distance away, stopping her.

As he did, the third came from behind, so Kazuto turned, and clashed blades with him, kicking him in the stomach, he hunched over with a grimace.

Slashing the man back and taking him out, Kazuto saw the remaining three gather to him.

"You shitty bastard!"

"You're finished!"

"Yeah, die!"

Kazuto watched them all surround his body, so he looked between all three as he got into a fighting form.

However, what he saw next made him hate Dohnaseek.

Dohnaseek took advantage of the situation, and he summoned his light, pushing all his power into it, throwing a huge spear through one of his own men.

While Kazuto parried the other two Exorcists coming at him with blades, he saw the last one coming too late thanks to Dohnaseek using him to shield Kazuto's eyes from the real threat, and caught the spear before it touched him, Dohnaseek was stunned to see that he held the light without it causing any real damage.

Kazuto pushed the man away, seeing he was dead.

Even his own men and women look appalled by what Dohnaseek did.

"S-Sir…" A female Exorcist called out.

But Dohnaseek snarled. "Do as I say and kill him!"

The female Exorcist looked unsure, while the male snarled "Screw this!" and he ran away.

Dohnaseek growled in discontent, as the female Exorcist looked at Kazuto, who shared a look with her, before she tossed her sword and gun to the ground near his feet, and ran off as fast as she could do.

Kazuto looked back at Dohnaseek, disgusted with his actions. "Wow, you're a coward as well as evil."

"Those Stray Exorcists worship the ground we Fallen Angels walk on."

"Good thing I don't then." As Kazuto said it, he felt a flare of energy radiate from him.

He saw his body was covered in the same glow that he had from his hands, the ground vanishing underneath his feet due to the power he radiated, and Dohnaseek felt his body beginning to shake when feeling the power.

"This power…die!" Dohnaseek summoned a spear of light.

He took aim, launching it at Kazuto.

As it came nearer and nearer, Kazuto felt that same warmth inside of him again.

Accompanied, by the voice.

[Partner, unleash your power.]

Kazuto didn't know who that was.

But he felt inside this voice was encouraging him.

So he moves his hand forward, and from that, a block of energy formed.

Dohnaseek felt pale as he realized what it was.

"That power, that wings on your…" Before he could finish, Kazuto fired his energy blast through the air. "Aaaaaaaah!" Dohnaseek yelled, his spear was destroyed, and the energy fired across his hand, slicing into his hand. "What the fuck…!"

"Enjoy the wound." Kazuto rushed him.

His speed was increasing all the more by the second.

Getting faster, and faster, being able to rush the man and keep pace with him at the same time, Dohnaseek summoned a spear, and thrust it towards Kazuto.

Kazuto leapt up, and flew high into the air as if he was defying gravity, and then came down behind Dohnaseek, who turned around in time to see Kazuto throwing a fist for him.

"Gwaaaaaaaaaaaah!" The impact was a lot more than it had been beforehand, and Dohnaseek went flying backwards, digging into the ground.

Dohnaseek felt blood running down his face, so he turned towards Kazuto, and saw the boy running at him.

"Shit, you're some kind of a hybrid... I have to go or else…!"

Dohnaseek fluttered his wings and took to the sky.

"Running now that you aren't winning!?"

"Don't worry, I will be back soon enough!"

"Who says you're getting away!?" Kazuto held out his hands, and tried to will the power, whatever power it was to come out and fire off at the enemy.

[Partner, compress that power...form a sphere, and fire it. Imagine you can do it...]

Kazuto wasn't sure of this voice, but something inside his heart told him he could trust this voice.

Concentrating more and more, the energies swirled around his hands, and formed a sphere like the voice said.

Compressing the sphere together, and turned towards the enemy, firing it off to the unsuspecting Dohnaseek.

Dohnaseek widened his eyes, as he turned to see the sphere coming in fast and heavy.

Knowing he didn't have time to create a barrier, he tried to dodge out of the way, when he saw the sphere enter his chest.

"Nooooooooooooooooooooo!" The power runs throughout the body of the Fallen Angel, Kazuto watching as Dohnaseek howled into the night, while the energy ripped right through his body, killing Dohnaseek.

"Go howl to your maker, you bastard."

Kazuto lets out a breath, feeling his heart pounding in his chest.

He began getting his head around what had happened.

Magic powers.

Voices in his head.

His dreams being real...

A minute goes by as he was collecting the guns and swords the dead Exorcists left behind while thinking back on the fight and how he used genuine powers, when he sees a light radiating from the right.

He sees four figures appearing from a good distance away, running quickly.

He was surprised to see Yumi, Koneko, Akeno and Rias came running towards him.

"Kazuto-kun! I'm sorry, I got held up by an Exorcist! Are you...okay?" Yumi called, but paused when seeing something on his back.

Rias, and the others came to a stop, as they stared at Kazuto.

"Erm...what's the Occult Research Club doing here? Don't tell me you're here to fight me too?"

Yumi could tell behind that calm tone, he truly was unsure of their appearance, which she totally understood considering she just appeared, with the others.

"Ara, don't worry, we're good~" Akeno giggles, her eyes shifting to his back. "Ooh my, Koneko-chan, you didn't know?"

"...Senpai." Koneko murmurs, her eyes meeting his own.

He thought he saw a sorrow look being there. "Toujou-chan, you okay? Don't worry, I'm alright."

Koneko nods, though keeps her head down, something Rias picked up on.

Kazuto was beginning to feel a little self conscious as they all gazed at him, then something dawned on him.

"Ooh no, I'm not getting arrested, am I? Because those people tried to kill me!"

Rias waved her hand. "No, its not that. You did very well defeating them. But...I had no idea..."

Akeno raises a hand to her face when seeing Kazuto's confused one. "Ara, it seems you're secretly one of us Kazuto-kun."

"One of you?" Kazuto replies with more confusion.

"…Sorry, Senpai..." Koneko added to Kazuto and Rias's confusion.

Yumi looking surprised. "But…I don't understand…"

Rias approaches Kazuto. "I'm sorry about what happened, the Fallen Angels shouldn't have attacked you. We tried to get here earlier, but we got rushed by some Exorcists trying to stop us."

Kazuto was baffled. "Gremory-senpai, everyone…I just want to make sure, we are currently on good terms with one another, right?"

"I'd say so yes." Rias giggled, fully understanding why he was suspicious.

"Great, so can you tell me what's going on?"

"I was kind of hoping you would do that." Rias said honestly.

Kazuto gave a questioning look. "I really can't. I know he was a Fallen Angel, right? I think I heard that correctly."

"I was talking about those on your back. So, you're a Devil?"

"My back…" Kazuto curiously looked back, and saw his Devil wings, his eyes widening. "...So even the wings are there...this power, these wings...the dreams are true..."

"Seems like you didn't know…alright. Kazuto-kun, it seems that we have much to discuss." Rias looks towards Kazuto's body, seeing blood, though mistaken it for his. "But first, we have to take care of your wounds."

"Wounds...?" Kazuto looked, but couldn't see any on him.

Rias though carried on. "Alright, who wants to get naked with Kazuto-kun?"

Kazuto blinked curiously. "I'm sorry, what?"

Rias gave a playful look. "Well, I don't mind doing it. Kazuto-kun, show me to your room."

"So we can get naked together?"

"Yes." Rias answered straight faced.

Kazuto raises a curious brow, but then snickers lightly. "Is this your way to get me into bed? Naughty Senpai."

Rias did a spit take while Akeno giggled "I like him~" noticing the teasing look in his eye matching his tone.

"I, I meant, s-so I could heal any wounds..." Rias replied cutely, blushing at the thoughts of what was being said.

"I, don't have any." Kazuto replied. "I caught that guys spear, and it felt a little strange, like my hand tingled, but that's it."

Rias looked intrigued to hear that. "Really? You've got a sturdy body to catch light like that, I wonder how strong your body is to do that..."

Kazuto gave a semi amused stare for a moment, but then reality came hitting him like a truck, and he wanted answers. "Okay, sorry for being blunt, but this nights been pretty wild, and I wanna know what's going on."

"I'm on the same page as you, Kazuto-kun."

"...You'll be fine, Senpai."

Rias slowly nods, furrowing her eyes at Koneko.

Rias then lets out a breath, turning back to Kazuto.

"First, Yumi, do you want to join in?" Yumi blushed, and turned her neck sideways, as Rias nods. "Alright then, Yumi, Kazuto-kun and I are going to get to bed."

"But, I don't have any..." When he tried to tell her he was woundless, she simply smiled.

"I also know this is a strange situation Kazuto-kun, but I promise, tomorrow that I will explain what was going on with that man you took out, which congratulations by the way since you only just became aware of your power." Kazuto thanked her with bewilderment. "You're quite the mystery Kazuto-kun, shall we solve it together?"

He didn't know what to say.

He thought he was a human, but apparently he wasn't.

He kept thinking about his dreams, where he had powers, where he had these wings.

He recalled that voice that called him 'partner' as well, feeling the burning sensation in his chest slowly fading.

The dreams always seemed real, but he wasn't sure how it could be.

But, now he knew for sure, it had to be real.

And most of all, he was about to get into bed with two very beautiful women...

Kazuto never could say his life was boring.

End chapter!

So, this is the first chapter, with a few mysteries set up during this chapter, answers coming down the road. Kazuto lives with his grandmother, and dreams of a life he currently doesn't fully remember, with a certain girl, what his grandmother may know, what Koneko's been saying, among other things.

For those unaware of the poll, this isn't a huge spoiler since it was told this chapter, but to confirm, Kazuto is half Devil, and he's the Sekiryuutei. And being half Devil (which clan he's in is a spoiler so we'll find that out later into the story), he will be gaining a peerage much sooner rather than later, and for those wondering who's going to join Rias's peerage in place of the Sekiryuutei, there will be a good replacement that'll show up a little later on.

Anyway, since he's going to have a peerage, suggestions always welcome! I do have a few already in mind, such as Koneko, Ravel, and a few others but yeah, suggestions always very welcome.

Well, until next time, thanks for reading!
