HEY there everyone,
I am desperately trying to get to a point here but then I get caught up in the fluff of the update and find myself enjoying writing the happy nice things (because theres enough unhappy crap things in life) but I think there will be a few more turbulant chapters upcoming as i bring this one to a close. Can you believe this story is now longer than New York Evening!? NYE took me about 2 yrs! I think this story only has 6 or so months of my time so far haha. Also; those who have been asking, yes I promise I will be finishing NYE. After this story closes, I wont start anything new til I am finished NYE - that is a promise :)
I hope you're all still liking this story! Have a great week. Leave me a comment, let me know what you think!
"Don't look now, but see this woman, Pauline Burton… she used to be the deputy principal but she was forced to step down because…" he leaned in, sliding an arm around her waist, pressing his mouth beside her ear, "because she told the kids that evolution wasn't real and that creationism is the only reliable and factual stem of existence."
"What!" Olivia hissed, "are you kidding? What kind of school am I sending my kid to, Trevor! These teachers are insane!," she hissed.
"Yeah…and then there's Candace McLaren the Librarian that hands out a condom with every single book that gets loaned out."
Olivia blinked hard at him, shocked and at a loss for words. Trevor nearly laughed, but managed to keep his lips from slightly up-turning in to a snicker. "And then, there's this other teacher that thinks you are so hot… and he will end up making out with you up against the wall out there," he nodded behind him, "in the corridor and get escorted out by security."
She looked at him, confused, "who?," she asked, making another face, this time it was slightly alarmed.
He started to laugh, "Me,"
Her face suddenly softened and she began to laugh too, "you're so silly…" he leaned closer and went to kiss her but she pulled back, "wait," she began, "is that really true about McLaren?"
He tilted his head back and let out of a burst of laughter, loud enough for a few people dancing slow close by to look their way. "No, Olivia… none of it is true, Wendy didn't go on a cruise — that I know about, Hartley isn't really a drunk history teacher, the jury is still out on the Roy episode, I'm not sure if that's true or not, it's just what I heard… I had to spice it all up, these people are flat out boring," he chuckled, "except the part about me, I'd love to kiss you against the wall out there in private and get kicked out…"
Olivia swiped him playfully, "you are such a dirty liar, I totally believed everything you told me and I was starting to think that maybe I should look for a new school for Noah…"
Trevor grinned, "as if I'd work at a school where all the teachers are that level of gross," he laughed. "Oh, I'm sorry," he chuckled, "I love you, I was just trying to make it more interesting."
She grinned at him, "well, that it was." With a dazzling grin adorning her face as she looked up at him. "I like the idea of you kissing me though," she murmured.
He smiled back, taking just a step closer til their bodies pressed against one another. He hovered over her face and she could smell the faint aroma of whisky on his breath. "I love you," he murmured.
"I love you too," she replied. "How do you think your peers might handle a little PDA," she wondered.
"I don't really care," he answered as he let his lips settle upon hers. She melted against his body and surrendered to his delightful mouth. His arms circled her waist, drawing her nearer if it were even possible. She reached up holding the back of his neck, making the little hairs prickle with her soft touch.
All feelings of self-awareness seemed to dissipate, the only person he was aware of was Olivia. He pushed his tongue in to her warm, welcoming mouth. She gripped him a little tighter as their kiss deepened. He always made her feel so good, she thought as a hand cupped her soft cheek, tilting his head slightly as they made out without reserve. Olivia slowly broke away, realising that the feelings that were overcoming her needed to be tamed until they were in private — he was so close to running his hands over her well-rounded backside. The way his hand ran firm along her back, up her spine, over her shoulders. She struggled to hold herself back too, she wanted her hands all over him up beneath his button down shirt.
Trevor got the hint and peeled himself away with reluctance. Their faces were flushed and they both gazed in to one another's eyes lovingly. "I've wanted to do that all night," he murmured, caressing her cheek.
She smiled straight back at him, "maybe we can continue this later…"
"Come on, Langan, you're showing us all up," his boss, nudged him as he and his wife Yvonne crossed the dance floor.
Trevor glanced over his shoulder, annoyed by the interruption but smiled. "What time do you think we can leave without it being rude?" Trevor asked Olivia in a whisper.
She chuckled. "Come on, let's go and take some photos in the Photo Booth and wait for the auctions, then we can say we have to get home to our baby."
Trevor winked at her and kissed the corner of her mouth. "I actually have a surprise for you…" he couldn't keep it to himself any longer.
"What is it?," she wondered, a little sparkle of joy in her eye.
He let his hand fall in to hers and walked her back to the table. He pulled Olivia's chair out and motioned for her to sit. He sat down too. He felt a set of hands upon his shoulders. He met the person with an almost irate stare.
"You are both set to win the cutest couple of the night, award, aren't you!" Wendy gushed.
Trevor quickly replaced his irritation with a tight smile. "I'll definitely have Olivia to thank for that."
"Oh, nonsense, you are both just so sweet!"
"I agree, love," Olivia she touched Trevor's thigh. "you're incredibly cute," she winked.
"He is, isn't he?," Wendy chuckled. Sensing their embarrassment she changed the subject, "are you both having a great time?"
"Yeah, we've put down some bids at the silent auction, had a few drinks and soon we'll take some pictures at the booth," Olivia answered, "it's been a lovely night so far."
"I was just saying to Liv, we probably won't be able to stay too late with the little one at home. It's her first night without us."
"Ohhh, that'll be a shame but I understand it was so nice of you to come and to bring Olivia too," Wendy replied.
"Be sure to say goodbye before you leave," she smiled before leaving them to it.
Trevor sighed and turned back to. Olivia and couldn't help but to laugh. She laughed too, a silent recognition for the constant disruptions.
"Anyway, what was my surprise?," she asked, "you were about to tell me…"
"Oh," he turned to her, his knees touching hers. He took her hands. "I actually booked us a night in a really nice hotel. Mom was so insistent that we should have a full night to ourselves."
Olivia's jaw fell to the floor, "really? Like a full night of uninterrupted sleep?," she asked, shocked and excited.
"Yup!," he grinned, "and it's a really nice hotel too, I have our bags in the trunk of my car."
"Oh, that's why you were so insistent on driving," she chuckled. "Aww this is amazing, thank you!"
"You're welcome baby," he replied, "you deserve sleep and we deserve just a little privacy in a very comfortable room."
"I hope you didn't spend a lot of money, sweetheart."
"Mind your business about what I spend," he winked. "Are you excited?"
"Very," Olivia grinned. "Come on let's go get our photo booth pics taken and then we can ask Wendy what time the auctions are going to be finalised."
"Okay," he agreed.
/
"Welllllll, that was a fizzer," Trevor laughed as they walked out of the ballroom hand-in-hand, "we lost that fancy hotel, by ten dollars, fucking Roy!"
They laughed and made their way down to the valet.

Olivia was shocked by the opulence of the Aman New York, one of the nicest hotels she had ever been in. She knew it was incredibly expensive. "Baby, this is … a lot," she murmured under her breath as they approached the front desk.
"Don't worry about it, Liv," he replied. Once they checked in, a bellhop took their suitcases up to their room. It was so gorgeous inside, neither Trevor nor Olivia had ever seen such a beautiful hotel suite. It was huge and spacious and he was shocked. He turned back to her with a grin, "is it okay?"
"Trevor…" she shook her head in disbelief, "are you kidding me? How did you afford this? I'm not even being cute, this is… rich life," she replied.
"Seriously?," he asked, "it was a gift from Gavin and Raia, Gavin has all his NY Bills contacts…" he told her with a laugh, "Raia told me a confusing story about one of the players who loves Gavin so much and comes around to his workshop to shoot the breeze and shares free stuff with him all the time — so I think that's how this came about."
"Wow… that's really kind of them to give this up," Olivia murmured. "I love it… it's incredible."
Trevor found a complimentary bottle of champagne on the coffee table in front of a skyline view window with two chairs. "Do you think it's an occasion-worthy of having a single glass of alcohol?"
Olivia stared at it for a moment. "I think it'd be okay, just one though — Amanda on occasion had a glass of red when she was pregnant with the girls and Levi…"
Trevor popped the bottle and poured out two small glasses of champagne. "Come sit…" he smiled, holding out the glass to her. She put her handbag on the bed and shedded her jacket. She joined him as he also took off his jacket too.
He patted his lap. "Come on, come over here…" She sat on his knees and took the champagne from him. She felt his hand resting where her thigh met her waist. "I love you," he murmured. "I would never have endured the night if it weren't for you," he admitted, "and I am so happy that I could take you and show everyone that I have this beautiful soul in my life now."
She took a sip of the champagne and felt the heat of it slide down her throat. She kissed his mouth immediately after. "I love you so much, I had a great time and I always have a great time with you, regardless of where we are or what we're doing…"
He hugged her close for a moment. She pulled away and allowed him to take a mouthful of his own champagne. "You know what I think we should do?," he asked her, taking the champagne flute from her he hands and setting it down on the coffee table.
"I have an idea of what you might say…" she grinned at him. She felt his hands behind her, looking for the toggle of her zipper at the neckline. She felt it slowly coming loose. "I think we should enjoy some time in comfort and then maybe we can make use of that beautiful tub…" he nodded to the huge bath tub that was visible from the bed.
"I like that idea…" she replied, shrugging out of her dress. She stood up and let him finish unzipping it the rest of the way. She walked her way over to the bed and slipped her heels off and put them aside. Trevor got up too and began to unbutton his shirt, peeling it off his shoulders until he was dressed right down to his jocks. He lifted his white undershirt off and folded both neatly, opening their suitcase and placing it gently within. He took Olivia's dress and did the same.
She smiled, loving that she didn't need to tell him what to pack— he had thought of it all, right down to fresh underwear, facial cleanser, hair products and clothes that would actually match for the following day. "There's a pool here, I brought our bathers," he told her, "we could maybe go for a swim in the morning after breakfast."
"You are just … very thoughtful, aren't you?"
"Yep," he replied, closing the suitcase. "Are you impressed?"
"Always," she chuckled. "Is this dressed down enough?," she wondered, looking at her lacy black underwear and matching bra which she was very aware needed better sizing now that she was pregnant. She was almost spilling out of it.
Trevor grinned at her, "only if you are comfortable…" his voice trailed. He couldn't keep his eyes off her chest, her boobs were definitely a little bigger and maybe more sensitive than usual, he knew and enjoyed that for the both of them.
He resumed his seat by the small little round table at the window. She followed him, straddling his lap this time, her back to the window. "You think people can see in?," she wondered, looking over her shoulder. Trevor shrugged.
"Maybe… do we care?"
"Not really, unless I decide to get the puppies out…"
Trevor laughed. "Oh, well, then maybe I should get up and close the curtain if that's a possibility."
Olivia giggled, "Its okay, I'll just press them in to your body to protect my shame," she joked, resting her hands gently upon his bare shoulders. He searched her eyes for a moment with a little, faint smile adorning his sweet, crooked smile.
"That'll be just fine with me…" he murmured. She leaned in and kissed him gently before pulling back. He leaned forward, teasing her with his mouth while grabbing the two glasses behind him. She took her advantage and stole a kiss before he sat back, handing her the champagne flute.
"To us… celebrating our growing family and … you and I, becoming parents together."
Olivia softened, she cocked her head to the side, her insides warmed by his sweet toast. "To you and I…" she repeated softly, holding up her glass so he could clink his against it. "I love you and there's not another single person on earth I would rather be doing this with."
She sipped her champagne, hoping to savour it. "Me either," he replied quietly. She felt a warm hand upon the small of her back, his fingertips brushing along her spine and back down until he rested it upon her ass. "How do you feel about… having my hands all over you?," he asked, unsure if her pregnancy made her willing or more inclined to want some physical space.
She lifted her head and smiled at him, "I'm always okay with that…"
He emptied his champagne flute in three mouthfuls before setting it down. "Wow, do I need to put my drink down.
"Nope," he smiled, "you just enjoy it…"
She felt his hands sliding up behind her until they reached the clip of her bra. Unclasping it caused relief to spread out over her chest as her heavy breasts felt the release. She almost groaned. He knew better than to try to whip it off, slowly pulling it forward, not wanting to hurt her. She swapped hands with the champagne flute, allowing him to pull it off and toss it aside.
His hands gripped her sides as he was almost face-to-face with her breasts. He lifted his head, smiling at her, "you're so gorgeous," he murmured. She rested a hand on his cheek and leaned over to kiss him. He slowly kissed his way down her jaw and shoulders, finding a handful of her breasts; letting his mouth find the other.
Olivia hummed with pleasure, feeling his tongue swirl around her. She felt herself involuntarily pushing her shoulders back, allowing him more space for his hands and mouth to roam. She took another mouthful of her champagne and let her eyes close as her senses started to heighten. Trevor's free hand stroked her back gently, tracing patterns with his fingertips and causing shivers down her spine.
She wrapped an arm around him, running her fingers through his hair as she let out a moan; his tongue hitting a particular spot that happened to be more sensitive than other parts of her. His hand dropped from her breast, both of them resting upon her waist, drawing her a little closer. He slid his fingers beneath the elastic of her underwear, catching a handful of the flesh on her backside.
Liv couldn't deny how quickly he managed to turn her on, his touch was always so perfect; he knew when to be soft and when to be firm and his tongue had a skill to it that she'd never quite been treated to. He retracted his hand and let it run over the soft lace, sliding his hand down further and further til he reached her intimate space; the heat and arousal evident immediately. She hummed again; weakened by the feel of his fingers reaching her from behind, gently running patterns over the flimsy fabric of her underwear.
"How are you going with that champagne?," he wondered, releasing her breast from his mouth. He eyed her as he continued his torture between her legs. As if to answer, she emptied the rest of the fluid in to her mouth. He let go of her, the regret of his fingers leaving her to take the glass was a strong, annoying feeling. He placed it down. He tucked his hands beneath her ass cheeks and lifted her against him as he got up. She linked her legs around his hips, giggling knowing as she knew what was coming. He kissed her softly, lingeringly a few times over and over as they headed to the bed. He set her down at the end of it.
Olivia could tell that he had an erection. She laid back, tucking her arms beneath her head leisurely and smiled at him. "What now?," she wondered a little smugly.
He chuckled and pushed down his jocks. "We are both about to get very naked," he replied.
"Uhuh? Then what?"
"You're going to just having to enjoy yourself and know that this is literally all I have thought about doing since being on that dance floor…"
"Mmmm, I have a feeling I'll enjoy it."
Trevor leaned over her and kissed her lips; his tongue meeting hers. She moaned, her back arching as she felt his fingers tracing their way down the centre of her stomach, circling her belly before meeting the juncture of her thighs, brushing against the space where he had been teasing her a short few moments earlier.
Trevor loved the feel of her groaning in to his mouth as they kissed. It was a huge turn on. "Something tells me you've been waiting for this too?"
She nodded emphatically as he inserted in thumbs in to either side of the waistband of her underwear and with one quick motion, he yanked them down her warm thighs. His breath caught as he took a step back, enjoying how gorgeous she looked; ready for him; her legs just slightly parted that he caught a glimpse of her arousal; just waiting for his warm mouth to devour.
He felt himself throbbing at the sight of her. It wasn't lost on her the way he gripped his erection, stroking it for a moment just to ease the ache he felt. "Come here, let me do that for you…" she sat up and for just a second, his mind went to another place as he took a step closer. He planted a kiss upon her lips as he let go of himself, her hand replacing his.
Her hand on him was firm and weakened his knees; jolts of desire fired off throughout his veins as he recaptured their kiss and her strokes were in perfect rhythm with their lips; his hips rolled slightly, grinding against her touch as she explored the length of his shaft, feeling her thumb swipe over the smooth head of his penis. It was his turn to let out a groan from the back of his throat, spurring her on to move a little faster, stroking him back and forth; using both hands to drive him a little more insane. She watched his face, a mixture of pleasure and concentration as he held a hand upon her shoulder, steadying himself.
"You better stop," he whispered with all of his might. "I don't think I'll last much longer…"
"Its okay," she whispered. "I don't mind— this can be about you, baby…"
He shook his head and wrapped a hand around her wrist. "No, no… stop…I want you so much."
She let go of him, unable to deny the thought of him buried within her. She liked it when he made love to her slowly but she also sometimes craved something a little more than gentle. She wasn't quite sure which side of him she wanted, but as he knelt down before her, she knew she wasn't going to regret his onslaught of pleasure. "Lay back," he smiled at her, kissing her knee gently. His hands explored her calves as his lips equally spent time on either thigh, just showering her with short, soft kisses all over her warm, shapely skin.
She laid back as she was told feeling her body buzzing with anticipation — shivering as the air around them became still and she waited for his next move. Trevor tried to build up to it, but he couldn't help himself; he covered her core with his mouth and chuckled against her as her body shocked with sensation, her hips lifting off the bed and a groan escaping loudly from her lips, suspending in to the air.
She gasped and cursed out loud as his tongue swiped her and his only concern was bringing her to the cusp of orgasm. He buried his tongue within her and listened to her humming with pleasure for the sensations that he caused her body. Usually she kept it in, trying her best not to make a sound, but she didn't bother even trying to stifle her moans.
"Yeah…" she panted, breathless from his ministrations, "Fuck… that feels so goo-" she moaned again feeling his tongue circling her clitoris before taking yet another long swipe of her as if he had all the time in the world, bringing alive every single inch of her skin. He reached up with one hand, taking a breast in his hand, thumbing gently at her erect nipples.
She could barely take it and had to remind herself to take long, slow deep breaths, to relax. She gripped the bed sheets within her hands as her hips rolled. Any self-restraint she had left was gone as he was spurred on by her whimpering for more. Her back arched as his hand slipped back from her breast, dipping one of his deft fingers within her as his tongue focused upon her swollen clitoris.
"Fuck…" she cursed again as he slipped another finger in, curling around, gently moving in and out as he hummed against her opening, plunging his tongue within her, flicking against her bundle of nerves. The vibrations of from his voice sent a ripple of effect of ecstasy throughout her veins. Her neediness only made him crave her more.
He lifted his head briefly as he continued to move within her with his fingers, meeting her hips. "Do you want to come?," he asked her gently, placing his other hand around her thigh, smoothing her skin, "I can make you come right now if you want…" he smiled.
She glanced down at him, barely able to speak as her hips rolled rhythmically to match his touch. "Mmmm," she shut her eyes for just a second, trying to regain some coherent thoughts. "I want you to make love to me," she sputtered, "I want to feel you inside of me," she managed to add.
"Whatever my love wants, my love gets," he replied with a little wink. He planted one last kiss upon her just above her opening. He climbed up over her body, guiding his throbbing penis inside of her slowly, allowing her a moment. He moved within her slowly, taking her face in his hands and kissing her passionately.
"I fucking love you," she told him, taking his face too, staring in to his eyes.
"I fucking love you," he replied.
"I love when we do it like this sometimes," she told him, "nice and slow," she added as if he didn't quite understand what she could have meant.
He covered her mouth with his again, allowing her to find his tongue as their hips rolled together falling in to a pattern, as if they were dancing; she followed his lead. Each time he slowly filled her up, her brain went to mush. She let her eyes fall shut. She could feel him caressing her hair as he held himself up with one arm. "I wanna hold you," he told her. He climbed off of her and moved beside her; she knew what position he wanted and it was fine by her.
Olivia loved the intimacy of him sliding in to her from behind, with both of his arms wrapped around her. It also gave him the better position to caress her body and reach down between her legs if he wanted to. It was overall much more comfortable for her.
She nestled in to his chest, pushing her hair out of the way as they picked up where they left off. She felt his lips on the side of her neck, his tongue working against her sensitive skin that made her tingle all over. He held her firm as he picked up his pace, his cock plunging in and out of her, increasing her pleasure as he slid out slow before filling her up fast.
She whimpered again as he hit the spot that made her want to liquefy.
He reached around to the front of her, feeling himself getting closer as he moved a little faster. She turned her head, meeting his mouth as his fingers brushed her clitoris, circling it slow until he felt himself right on the edge of coming. He moved faster, his thrusts becoming more powerful, the bed slightly rocking each time he slid inside of her, deeper, hitting the spot that made her tighten around him. She moaned in to his mouth as her hips rocked faster with his.
"I love you," he let his words leave his mouth with urgency, breaking their kiss, meaning every word as the heat built between them and she recaptured his mouth; her tongue exploring his. His fingers brushed languidly over her centre, causing a warm sensation to pool in her lower stomach as her feelings began to build. "Mmmmm, I'm about to come," she announced as her hips quaked against his; his fingers adding more pressure to their touch, feeling herself tumbling just over the edge.
"Come," he urged her, "relax and let go…" he added, knowing that every now and then she seemed to back off. There was no chance of that though, she took his advice and breathed deeply and slowly as an overwhelming surge of pleasure alighted her entire body, causing her walls to tighten, enough to make his next, urgent thrust be the one that filled her up as their arousal pooled between the two of them. Olivia's body quivered and tensed and shook for a few moments as she let the orgasm pass through her.
Trevor planted a kiss on her shoulder blade, "enjoy it…" he told her as his own hips seemed to have a mind of their own as he emptied himself within her. He smoothed his hand over her body, caressing her breasts as he planted stray kisses all over her shoulders and at her nape before going back to work on the sensitive spot at her neck while she caught her breath.
She could barely handle his touch caressing her thighs, but as she calmed she found it soothing, not even minding when he gently reached between her legs, stroking her skin, not bothered by the dampness between them. "I love how wet you get for me…" he murmured with a little chuckle. "Fuck… every time… it's so good, how is this so good…" he let out a happy sigh.
She reached down for his hand and turned a little to face him. She grinned at him, lipstick smeared just slightly. He smiled and kissed her lips. "So fucking good…" she repeated, "I love your hands on me," she told him, making his confidence soar — you just…" her eyes searched his, trying to ignore his hands caressing her folds in a way that didn't feel like it was too much, but definitely didn't do much to make her gooseflesh disappear. "You just know how to treat me… all of it, from start to finish… to right now—"
"Is it okay? Or too much?," he wondered.
"Its okay," she smiled, lifting her head to kiss him. "But I'm too sensitive for anything else…"
"I know," he replied, "I just like to touch your body…" he replied, letting his hands travel over her thighs and back up over her stomach, "you have the most beautiful body and I can't believe you let me be the one who gets to devour it…" he chuckled in spite of himself.
"Awwwf," she smirked, "thanks Trev… but you are built like a fucking model, so… lucky me."
They shared a smile. "Two minutes in the room huh, that's how long we lasted?"
Olivia laughed. "Two minutes isn't quite a fair appraisal, I'd say you lasted a little longer than that," she teased. He laughed, nudging her with mock-offence. "It isn't often enough we get alone time and honestly, seeing you all dressed up tonight with your professional hat on, that was pretty hot."
They both laughed.
"Do you want to soak in the tub for a bit?"
She nodded, "Yeah… that sounds good…but can we just lay here for a little longer and talk. I like being this close to you."
"Of course," he agreed, readjusting herself so she could turn to face him. She wrapped an arm around him and cuddled him close for a moment.
/
"What are you doing, sweetie?" Trevor asked as he came back in to the room. He was surprised that Olivia hadn't moved from the bed save for leaning over to get her phone.
"Just texting Noah to make sure everything is okay," she replied, "I'm just a bit worried that Lexi won't sleep."
"Honey," he sat down on the edge of the bed, "we have to just let go sometimes, we both still need reprieve from time-to-time, don't you think?"
She glanced at him, "Yeah but… it's not your Mom's responsibility, nor Noah's and if Lexi is screaming the house down, your Mom might not be able to get her to calm down and I just would feel so bad."
He knew if she didn't go ahead and check in, she would be distracted. It was a little frustrating because he had every faith that even if Lexi did whine a little, Noah was there and she responded well to Noah even in the night.
Olivia's phone chimed. She looked back at it. Noah gave her an update; Lexi is fine, she woke up at 10:30 and cried for about 15 minutes but I went to lay with her while Grandma gave her about an inch of warm milk and she went right back to sleep. We miss you guys but we are having a good time. Grandma and I are still up playing checkers at the kitchen table."
Olivia felt relieved. She smiled as another text came through, a picture of Noah and Georgie together. "Look," she showed Trevor her phone.
He smiled faintly. "Sweet," he murmured.
"Are you mad that I wanted to check in?," she asked, sensing his slight change in attitude.
"No, I want you to feel comfortable and if checking in will make you feel better relaxed then, that's fine."
"Okay…" her voice trailed off. She texted back to say that she and Trevor sent their love and hugs and would see them the following day.
/
Olivia laid back in the tub, she had pinned her hair up in a messy top knot. She smiled at Trevor; she was tired and he could see it starting to show, but they were both enjoying the silence; the privacy between them - being in a place without a TV blaring and Olivia having a toddler not wanting to be more than three steps away from her at all times.
"How are you feeling?," he asked her, "relaxed?"
She nodded, "Yeah… this is so nice," She reached for his calves on either side of her.
"What are you doing?," he wondered, feeling her dragging his foot over her thighs. He felt her fingers kneading in to the ball of his heel.
She shrugged, "I don't know…I wanna do something nice for you," she told him, "give you a foot massage."
"You don't have to do that," he smiled. "I'm happy to just be with you."
"I know, but I love you and you're always just doing super kind and affectionate things for me, it feels nice to not be so beaten down with fatigue. I want to do nice things for you too, I feel guilty when I don't, I'm usually the thoughtful one in relationships."
"You are thoughtful, what, are you kidding?!," he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Most days you get up and you make me coffee while I'm having a shower and you put something out for Noah and I to eat and then when I'm ready to have my coffee you're there waiting with a nice, warm Olivia Benson cuddle," he smiled.
"No, they're normal things. You're going to work, it's the least I can do when the rest of the day I'm just hanging out."
"You're not just hanging out, you're looking after our daughter. It's a job within its own right."
"I was actually thinking about how we need to start looking at daycares, I think I will go stir-crazy if I stay off work for too much longer. How do you feel about that?"
"Hmmm…" he thought about it and then shrugged, "if you would like to go back to work, I understand… but remember the second that they find out you're pregnant you'll be on desk duties."
Olivia nodded as she rubbed the ball of his foot in firm circles with both of her thumbs. "Yeah but I think that's a little while off, Amanda and Sonny are the only two that know. If I can kick this nauseousness, I think I could get a couple months of work before I start really showing - or else I'm going to probably balloon out and I'll never want to leave the house again," she smirked.
Trevor made a face, "don't say that, you're going to be beautiful and I am going to love every bit of my pregnant wif-"
It was her turn to cock her head and raise an eyebrow. At his own words he stopped short and she caught sight of his own shock spreading out over his face closely followed by sorrow for what he had just said; for what it meant for him to remarry, for what he would be leaving behind.
The feeling was instantly overwhelming and had caught him off guard. "Fuck- I'm so sorry," he breathed but Olivia had a feeling that he wasn't apologising to her.
"Its okay, baby," she replied. She released his foot and watched him cover his face as a shockwave of guilt and grief washed over him. He hadn't considered ever calling Olivia his wife - somewhere in his future he did picture them married, but giving her the title of his wife was something that had never crossed his mind - when it came out with such ease, it struck him that he had left Lana for dust, he had all but let her go - let her become a memory.
He didn't like the weight of guilt that came with that feeling.
"Its okay," Olivia said again, carefully climbing up over his legs, sitting on his thighs. "Baby?"
"I'm sorry," he let the words out like a flood gate and she could tell from his voice, thick with emotion, that there were tears behind his hand. "This is so fucking stupid," he sputtered.
"No," she told him firmly, "no it's not. None of this is stupid, sweetheart," she gently pulled his hands away from his face and drew him toward her. She wrapped her arms around him.
"I want to marry you, I want you to be my wife," his voice cracked, "but-"
"You don't have to explain, Trev, I get it, I understand, I know what that means for you and it's okay that its big and its scary and it makes you feel these waves of grief," she tried to help him verbalise his feelings.
"I don't want you-" he paused, composing his voice, "I don't want you to doubt anything."
She kissed his cheek, "I don't doubt a thing, I always tell you," she began gently, "it is possible to be in love with someone while still grieving someone who was so important to you. It's a part of moving on, Trev…"
"I just feel so… so guilty."
"You don't have any reason to feel guilty," she assured him, "if you can never commit yourself to marriage for whatever reason, that's totally fine, I would understand."
"No," he said firmly, "no, I want to marry you, I just blurted it out and it felt too familiar and it kind of shocked me of how long ago it feels that I was Lana's husband, but saying the words made it feel like it was yesterday — so familiar and…" he sighed and shrugged. Olivia wiped a few stray tears and kissed his lips.
"I'm here to talk as much as you need to, or I'm here to comfort you, whatever you need."
He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her against him, enjoying the assurance of her words while she allowed him to hold her without being weirded out by what had just overcome him.
"Thanks Liv… and you say you don't do thoughtful things," he tried to joke.
"I just really love you," she murmured, "and I never want you to feel like you cant talk to me about Lana. You don't have to hold it back."
"Thanks," he sniffed, "I know."

Once they were out of the bath, Olivia cleaned up around the room a little, setting out fresh underwear for both herself and Trevor before dimming the lighting. She checked her phone and saw that Noah had sent some more photos only about fifteen minutes earlier. He was awake with Lexi.
I know you're going to get mad cos I'm awake but Lexi woke up and I didn't want to wake Grandma up, so I came in here with her. She's fine, we're happy - she actually wanted to play, but you'd be proud, I said no and I read her a story and then we put an audio story on and she's just being cuddly and sleepy. I hope it was okay but I gave her a little bit more milk that I warmed in the microwave. Love you xo
Olivia beamed and replied back.
Thank you so much for being such a wonderful big brother. If you need me to come home you just tell me okay? The milk is fine but she may need to go to the bathroom or a diaper change before morning. Love you. Try to get some sleep, you're having Adam over tomorrow and Grandpa is arriving.
She put her phone back down as Trevor re-emerged. "Ready to sleep?," he wondered. It was almost 2am; the time seemed to fly.
"Yeah, I think so, how about you? How do you feel?"
"Good," he replied, "relaxed and ready for sleep."
Olivia got under the covers, not worrying about clothes - enjoying the freedom of being able to sleep entirely naked with him. He seemed to not even consider putting on any jocks. He got in beside her and moved close to her.
"I hope you have a great sleep, baby," he murmured, kissing her lips.
"You too,"
/
"Awwww, booboo!" Olivia gushed in to the phone with a big grin, "Mommy misses you and Noah so much!" She stared at Lexi who giggled and called out to her.
Trevor stirred beside her. Noah took the phone back and glanced at his Mom. "When are you guys getting back? Grandpa told Grandma he's only about an hour away."
"I'm not sure, honey. I'll text you once Dad wakes up… he might have some plans, but I don't think we'll be back super late."
"I'm awake," Trevor mumbled sleepily. "We have the room til 12," he added.
"We'll be home just after lunch," she told Noah, "I'll call you later but text us if you need."
"Okay, have a good time, love you guys."
"Love you," Trevor called out. Olivia repeated him and hung up. She put the phone up and turned to Trevor.
"Hey sleepy head…" she slid back down beneath the covers. She slipped her arms around him for warmth. "Want me to get up and get you a coffee?"
"No thanks, I have a bit of a headache, I had maybe a little too much to drink," he murmured, his voice low and full of bass. "We never get to sleep in, can't we just cuddle and close our eyes a bit longer?"
"Okay," she agreed. She closed her eyes but knew there was no part of her that wanted to go back to sleep. She enjoyed cuddling with him but she wanted to just enjoy the room for as long as she could. As soon as he began to breathe heavily again, she slinked out from within his arms and got up.
She made herself a coffee and went and ran herself a bath deciding to enjoy the silence for as long as she could — Olivia loved affection and she loved being with both kids and Trevor, but there was a tiny bit of her that was a little over being touched all the time; Lexi mostly, she didn't like to let her out of her sight; climbing on her, hugging her, having to have her hands on her, cuddling her — it was nice for the time apart if she was very honest with herself.
And as much as she loved Trevor, it was nice to be able to steal away and lay in the tub eating leftover complimentary chocolate and reading her book.
She tied her hair up on top of her head and emptied bubbles in to the tub and slid in to the warm water.
She closed her eyes and dropped a square of chocolate in to her mouth and couldn't help but to smile to herself. It felt so decadent and for a moment she almost felt guilty for leaving Trevor alone in the bed.
/
Trevor woke up alone in bed at around 8:30. He yawned and stretched, figuring that Liv was in the bathroom. "Liv?," he called out.
"Yeah…I'm just in here…" she called back.
He sat up and rubbed his bleary-eyes, feeling a lot better than he had earlier. He got up and headed in to the bathroom. He smiled wearily in the doorway to find Olivia in the tub. "Hey beautiful…" he greeted her.
She looked up from her phone and smiled at him, "Good morning," she replied.
"You look very relaxed," he remarked. "I hate to do this but I really need to pee…"
Olivia looked at him quizzically. "So… pee?"
The toilet was a meter or so behind her. "You're okay with that? It won't gross you out?"
"Well… I'm not getting out just so you can pee, I don't have to look," she replied, almost as though she was bored.
"Okay…" he replied, holding up his hands, wondering why she seemed so annoyed.
Olivia felt a little immediate guilt for perhaps being a little snippy for no reason. She didn't want the disruption, she was enjoying her book and the quiet. "Sorry," Trevor murmured as she began to hear the familiar sound of him peeing. Instantly, she smiled to herself, his embarrassment of having to pee in front of her for some reason was amusing to her.
"Don't worry about it, its just pee, Trevor, we'll all rebuild," she replied as he finished up and washed his hands.
"Are you okay?," he wondered, "I feel like you're annoyed with me."
"No, I'm not annoyed with you, sorry… I'm just…" she shrugged.
"What is it?," he asked, leaning over to kiss her lips, noticing she pulled away almost as soon as their lips met. "Tell me…" he knelt down beside the tub and tried again, slipping his hand in to the water to find her body.
She flinched away with instant announce. "I just want to lay in the tub and relax with my music and my book…"
"Oh, okay," he replied and she knew he was immediately hurt. "Sorry…"
She drew in a breath, "no, I'm sorry, you should come in with me…"
He shook his head, "No, no, you want some space, its okay. I get it…"
"No," she argued, "I'm being a brat, you got this fancy hotel and I'm acting ungrateful and I'm not ungrateful."
He leaned over and kissed her forehead. "I don't think you're ungrateful," he replied meaningfully. "Enjoy some time to yourself… I'll go and get dressed and check in with the kids…"
"I've already checked in," she replied, "they're fine…"
"I know, but I'd like to see their faces, I miss them too you know…"
"Okay, but then you should come in here with me," she answered, trying to make him feel better, realising that she'd clearly hurt his feelings.
He just gave a small nod and left her to it.
/
Trevor felt bad; he'd spent a lot of money on the room; it hadn't been a gift from Raia and Gavin, but he knew she would fuss over the price if he said that he'd paid. She was worth it, he thought, he wanted for them to have time alone, not necessarily sex, but it was an added bonus, but quality time was few and far between and he wasn't sorry that he had two children at home, he just missed being able to talk to her and to spend some uninterrupted time together.
Hey sunshine, what's happening? How was your night? Mom and I will be home just after lunch. We miss you guys…
A few moments later Noah replied. "Hi Dad, nothing exciting happening, Grandma made me and Lexi some French toast and we decided to take Lexi for a walk and maybe a little play in the park — don't worry I'll play on the jungle gym with her and make sure that she's okay. Lexi slept in my bed with me, she crawled out of her own bed and came in to my room early this morning. It was fine. She's like a little teddy bear. We miss you both too, but have a nice time away."
Trevor smiled, feeling a little better hearing from Noah. It was just a little bit of love that he needed to feel and suddenly he truly did miss both of their faces. It was weird how he both simultaneously missed the kids but enjoyed the quiet of time without them. It was a new feeling of being a parent; the guilt that he grappled with over the feeling was something that he wasn't used to.
He got back in to bed and pulled the covers up over his shoulders and replied; That's nice, kiddo. Make sure you send me some photos of you both. I miss your lil faces. Love you both, let me know when Grandpa arrives and tell Grandma that we'll see her soon.
He turned the TV on and found something pointless to watch and let his eyes fall closed, trying to will his blue mood away.
/
Olivia got out of the bath after about 35 minutes. It was clear Trevor wasn't coming to join her and she felt well and truly cruel. She wrapped the towel around her and tucked it in beneath her arm and pulled the plug. She grabbed her phone and went back in to the room.
"Oh…" she frowned. Trevor was curled up beneath the blankets watching TV. She circled the bed to find that his eyes were closed. "Hey… are you sleeping?" She asked, putting her phone down before climbing on to the bed beside him. He opened his eyes and stared at her, looking sad. She rested her hand on his cheek. "I'm really sorry," she told him gently, "I was really rude to you this morning and I didn't mean to be."
"Its okay," he replied in monotone. For a moment she wondered if he might cry, his eyes became glassy.
"Trevor— what's wrong? Did I really upset you that much?," she wondered, "please talk to me…"
He drew in a deep breath and gave his head a little shake. "Its okay, it doesn't matter."
She caressed his cheek. "Please… please talk to me, okay?"
He stared at her for a second before averting his eyes. "I'm just being sensitive, it doesn't matter. I'll be fine. It's not the end of the world, you just needed some space. I dont have the right to be upset."
"No," she shook her head, "you put this great, fun date on last night and then you surprised me with this room and I got up and was being a brat… I think sometimes for me, I don't get a second that tiny sets of hands aren't all over me, wanting cuddles and to be picked up and rocked to sleep and she hates to even sleep alone — and Noah still loves to cuddle his Mom and be close to me and I guess I just saw an opportunity to not be over-touched and took it but I didn't mean to upset you."
"And stupid dumb me comes in and tries to get handsy…." His voice trailed off. "I'm sorry about that."
"No, its fine, your touch is a little different to kid touch, shall we say, but… I dunno I was kind of in my own head."
"I just missed being able to have normal conversations with you without having to revolve it around a sleep schedule for both kids and I am very aware that's probably selfish, but I just wanted to be near you because I love you so much and your reaction to me this morning felt … not cold but just… so aloof and it doesn't take a lot to make me second guess my own behaviour or how you might feel about me."
"Are you kidding?," she asked, the first she was hearing of his insecurity.
"Mmm, yeah…at times…. I'm sorry," he said quietly, "I'm sorry that I didn't pick up the queues that you needed some alone time, at home… I should give you more time to go do what you want without the kids harassing you — without me harassing you, I guess I haven't been a good support."
Olivia's eyes filled up and spilled over, she felt terrible. "No, no, no, you're an amazing support, do you know how lucky I am to have you?," she asked, edging closer, taking both of his cheeks in her hands, ignoring her tears. She felt his hand reach her, wiping her tears away. "I am so lucky, Trevor, you're the most supportive man I've ever had-"
"But you're comparing me to … if I'm honest, not very strong competition. I hate that you felt like that but didn't tell me."
"I feel awful," she murmured, "that's not-" she let out a sob.
"Please don't cry, I didn't mean to make you feel upset or guilty, Liv, I just feel terrible that I got a little complacent. I'm sorry."
"You're not… sweetheart, you literally drop your work bag and take Lexi and let me go off to shower or to sleep or to do something — I was being a fucking brat this morning… I am in a very privileged position with having you and Noah helping me with everything…"
"Why do you say that like it's something you shouldn't expect, or something that shouldn't just be the norm? Of course we should help… you're not doing this alone. This is a we situation, not a you situation… Please don't cry, I love you and I just want to make you happy."
"I am happy, sweetheart," she told him emphatically, "I'm really happy, I love you and I never, ever second guess what we have, not once… Okay?"
He nodded blinking back his own stinging eyes. "I'm sorry you're crying, we're supposed to be happy this morning, enjoying ourselves."
"I know, I'm sorry. We don't ever really get to do this type of thing, it was so nice of Raia and Gavin."
He smiled and nodded and brushed away her remaining tears. "I love you…" he repeated, "you are the most beautiful person that's ever entered my life," he continued as his eyes swept over her face, taking in all of her features. He truly meant each word that came from his mouth. "I sometimes feel like I have everything to lose in this… and I get a little insecure but I didn't mean to upset you…"
"You're the most wonderful man I've ever met too, sweetheart, I don't ever need you to question it, but if you do feel a little insecure or need some assurance, just ask me and I'll tell you how much I love you or show you how much I love you…"
"Come here, love…" he let go of her and drew her close to his body and cuddled her. She gripped him tightly and reciprocated his embrace. "Let's start this morning over," he suggested.
She kissed his cheek and drew her head back briefly so that she could meet his lips for another soft, lingering kiss.
"I love you, my sweetheart, I'll never stop telling you." He managed a smile.
"Me too," she replied. "I love you too." He stroked her hair and was relieved to see a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"What now?," he asked, "what would you like to do?"
"Mmmm, breakfast?," she suggested.
"Wanna get dressed and eat downstairs in the fancy dining area? Or do you wanna order in here and sit in bed and eat — we can open the curtains and enjoy the view— its up to you."
She thought for a moment. "Would you be sad if we stayed in and just sat in bed?"
"Of course not," he grinned, "Id love that actually."
Trevor let go of Olivia and grabbed the remote to bring up the in-room menu on the television. Olivia knew straight away that she wanted some scrambled eggs and smoked trout with the sauce on the side. Trevor watched her get up and pull the towel from around her, tossing a pair of lacy panties on and the t-shirt Trevor was wearing beneath his button down dress shirt the night before.
She smiled, it smelled like his cologne still. She hung her towel back in the bathroom and came back to bed, sitting cross legged against the bed-head. "I'm gonna get the big breakfast, the bacon, eggs, sausage links, hash browns and fried green tomatoes."
"I might steal a few hash brown bites," Olivia remarked.
Trevor chuckled. "What about some fresh fruit as well?"
"Yeah, good idea, fresh fruit too," he added.
"Oh yeah, fresh fruit," she smiled. "Thanks baby."
"You're welcome. Why don't you put on some of your chill out music and I'll go have a quick shower while we wait…"
"Only if you come back to bed halfway naked too," she winked at him.
He laughed, "get outta here you creep," he teased.
/
Noah clocked a football hurtling toward him, almost about to hit Lexi as her little legs pumped toward it. She could move fast, he thought, as he went after her knowing that Trevor's mom couldn't move nearly as fast as he could. He swept Lexi up, just out of the way of the ball.
He looked up and saw none-other than Ryan, jogging toward him, "Ohh Noah!," he greeted him, looking at the little girl in his arms. "Sorry! I didn't mean to kick it that hard," he apologised.
"Its all good," he smiled, he turned to his baby sister, "hey Lexi, say hello to my friend, Ryan."
Lexi looked at him for a moment and waved. "Hi-hi!"
Ryan smiled right back at her, "Hi Lexi, would you like to play with the ball?," he asked picking it up from close to them.
Lexi nodded with a smile. Ryan looked at Noah, "is that okay? I'll be careful."
"Sure, she has a short attention span though," he chuckled, planting a big kiss on her cheek, causing her to laugh. Georgie caught up with them. Noah glanced behind him, "Ryan, this is my Grandma, Georgie, Grandma, this is Ryan, he's one of my teammates," he politely introduced them.
Surprising him, Ryan reached out and shook her hand. "Its nice to meet you Mrs- Langan?," he asked, glancing at Noah for confirmation. He figured it was Trevor's Mom given that she looked a lot like his coach.
"Yes," Georgie replied with a smile, "lovely to meet you too, Ryan, you can call me Georgie."
"Lexi wants to play with the ball for a few minutes, is that okay?" Noah asked.
"Of course, Grandma is a bit tired anyway, I might go sit on that bench and watch," she pointed over to some seats.
"Okay," Noah smiled, "are you okay?"
She smiled at her Grandson's gentleness, "yes sweetheart, I'm fine, thank you,"
Noah set Lexi down as Georgie went to sit. Ryan tossed the football up and down in his grasp while he waited for Noah to get ready to help her catch or at least catch up with the ball. "Is it weird to call Coach's Mom, Grandma?" Ryan asked curiously.
Noah shook his head. "No, she's a good Grandma and my Mom and I don't have any other blood relatives… we made our own family."
"That's actually pretty nice," Ryan replied. He turned to Lexi, "and your sister is adorable. I wish I had a kid brother or sister," he said wistfully, "it would be nice to have someone else at home to hang out with."
"I understand…" Noah commiserated and he really did. Sometimes being an only child to a single parent household was lonely. "But you can text me if you ever wanna hang out, you can always come to my place, my Mom, but… coach does live with us, but its not weird for Kaci or Adam—"
Ryan smiled, "thanks Noah, you're actually pretty cool. I am really sorry for everything, I hope your Mom won't hate me forever."
"My Mom doesn't hate you. My Mom was the one who suggested I talk to you."
"Thats nice." Ryan glanced back down at Lexi and his smile grew, she held up her hands wanting the ball. "Ohhh, would you like the football?"
She nodded with concentration as he leaned over and handed it to her. She tossed it out of her hands, letting it roll ahead and pointed at it and glanced up at Noah, "me ball!"
"It's Ryan's ball, but he's sharing it with you," Noah told her. Ryan picked it up and gave it back to her.
"You're going to be sorry," Noah smirked, "she is never going to want to stop,"
They both chased Lexi around for a little while before she got tired of it and gave the ball back to Ryan. "Thank you so much Lexi," he smiled at her. Noah could tell that he enjoyed having fun with her. It was nice for him to be able to share the joy of having a tiny sibling. All of his friends were at an age where they could appreciate her sweetness and not find her annoying. "I had so much fun with you and Noah," he told her.
Lexi gave him her best smile. Ryan grinned at her when she turned shyly toward her brother. "Man… it must be so nice to have her around, how can you not smile."
"Ba-ba," she tugged at Noah's leg. He glanced down, she couldn't say Noah but she understood that he was her brother, ba-ba was as close as she got to pronouncing the word, brother. Noah thought it was adorable and so did Olivia and Trevor. "Ba-baaaa, up?" She held up her arms.
"She's a pretty cool kid," Noah replied as he lifted her up. "You always get your way, don't you?"
"Mmmhmmmmmm," she nodded as if she fully understood. The two boys laughed. "Well, maybe I should go," told Ryan who seemed a little reluctant. "Why don't you text me later? Adam is coming over, maybe we can come out and kick the ball?"
"That sounds good, only if Adam wants, I know he's still not too crazy about me."
Noah shrugged, "I think that Adam is a good guy and he's forgiving."
"Cool… I guess I'll let you get back to your Grandma then, thanks." Noah felt a little bad.
"What are you gonna do now?," Noah asked, "is your Mom at work?"
"Mmmm yeah, she's at work. Blasko isn't taking my calls anymore cos it got back to him that I sat with you guys at school."
Noah laughed, "what a loser, you can do better than him for friends, honestly, it'd be better to hang out on your own than to be around someone who brings out the worst in you."
Ryan took on Noah's words seriously. He knew the smaller kid before him must have been doing something right, given that his popularity was increasing and more than more people were interested in being his friend or hanging out with him; that more kids had warned him and some of the other players to leave him alone.
Celeste had even stopped talking to him too, he was kind of relieved - the most popular girl at school was also one of the most aggressive and mean too. She made it no secret she liked him and after he told Peter he hadn't been interested in her, he had taunted him and called him gay. He knew it was what he should want, but he wasn't interested in someone who only wanted to be with him out of popularity.
"I'll go kick the ball some more," Ryan told him with a smile. "Have a nice day with your family."
"Okay, text later. Wave bye, Lexi!"
Lexi waved at Ryan and watched him leave the way he came. Noah glanced back to his Grandma and made her way to her.
/
"How are you feeling now?" Trevor asked Olivia as they gathered their things. She was reluctant to leave the beautiful room.
"Very relaxed, thanks Trevor, I'll have to text Raia and thank her later," she smiled at him, taking a seat on the bed and covering her tummy with her hand. She could definitely start to see the growing swell.
"Oh, don't do that — she must think I don't make any money because she made me promise that I'd say I put down the cash for this room to impress you," he chuckled.
Olivia grinned, "aww, that's kind of sweet, okay, maybe I'll text her to gush about this beautiful hotel you treated me to, then. Just so she knows I enjoyed it."
"Oh yeah that might be nice." Trevor replied. He sat down beside her after closing the suitcase. "So everything's in order at home, Mom said that Noah and Adam wanted to go and hang out with Ryan to kick the ball of all people and my Dad was worried about them going to the park on their own so he went down with them and promised to keep his distance."
Olivia laughed, "Your Dad loves Noah so fucking much and I can't tell you how nice that is for me to see. Noah wouldn't be embarrassed by your Dad, he'll probably try to get him to join in."
"You're right," Trevor agreed. "Maybe when we get home, I'll take Lexi down and meet Dad and you can have some time with Mom or time to yourself, I'm sure Mom would be okay with either."
"Trev, don't try too hard okay," she told him meaningfully, touching his arm, "what I said this morning — it wasn't to imply that you don't do enough, because you truly do. I was just maybe being-"
"No," he cut her off, "Liv, you felt how you felt for a reason, even if just for that moment you needed to be by yourself, that's fine, I'm sorry I may have overreacted, I just went to bed last night feeling a little sensitive over what I blurted out to you and nothing makes me emotional like the guilt and grief, so maybe I was just riding the tail of that."
Olivia shrugged, "Either way, I think you do enough. You go to work and you bring home money and work hard with Noah and I'm home with Lexi and it just works for right now."
Trevor nodded. "I love you."
She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder for a second, "I love you too."
/
"Heeeeey, guys!" Trevor greeted everyone as he wheeled the suitcase behind him, stopping to greet Ruby, the most excited of all. Olivia grinned to see Lexi struggling to be set down. Georgie set her down at the end of the hall. Trevor ordered Ruby to sit as his daughter came bolting down the hall. He squatted down to meet her height with his arms wide open. "Hiiii baby!," he exclaimed excitedly, realising just how much he had missed the kids. He picked her up and cuddled her tightly, kissing her all over her face until she shrieked and giggled. "Daddy missed you soooooo much!," he added, "Mommy too!" He pulled away and looked at Liv. She had glassy eyes and he knew immediately they shared the same feeling of pining for their kids.
He saw Noah hovering as they met everyone in the kitchen and dining area. Adam had already arrived for his sleep over and they obviously hadn't stayed long at the park. "Hey guys! Hey Adam!"
"Hi Mr Langan,"
Trevor laughed as he passed Lexi to Olivia, "its Trevor when I'm at home, Mr. Langan at school," he corrected him. He turned back to Liv and kissed her temple, rubbing her shoulder gently, knowing that she was a little emotional to see the kids. Noah made his way over to his Mom and gave her a hug.
"Hi babies," she greeted them both, kissing Noah's forehead and giving Lexi a kiss too. "I missed you both so much."
"We missed you too, Mom, but it was fine, we had fun with Grandma."
Trevor greeted his Mom and Dad and waited Liv to let go of Noah. "Hey Sunshine, I hear you did well with your sister, thank you for being so great with her." He hesitated to show affection to Noah, unsure of whether or not it would have embarrassed him, but to Noah's credit, he gave Trevor a hug. Trevor hugged him back.
"We had a good time but we missed you and Mom."
"Same here, kiddo, same here…" He drew in a deep breath and let go of Noah, "Okay, I'm gonna go put our suitcase away and I'm sure Mom is gonna need a second to dry her eyes, but what are you guys up to this afternoon?"
"We met up with Ryan but his Mom called and needed him to go and pick up some stuff, but we might go back down to the park later," Noah replied.
"Why don't you invite Ryan here? Or is that a little too friendly?," Trevor wondered, looking from Noah to Adam.
"I dunno, maybe…" Noah shrugged.
"Well, if you wanted to do that, that's fine, let us know and we can organise some pizzas or something for you guys for dinner."
"Thanks Dad," Noah replied, not even worried that Adam witnessed their relationship. Adam didn't flinch either and Trevor was glad. He didn't want to cramp Noah's style or make life a bit harder for him at school.
"Were you guys just passing the ball down at the park or working on something in particular?," he wondered.
"Just passing and kicking," Adam replied, "we're working on Noah's ball control."
Trevor smiled, "I applaud the dedication. If you guys want some help, let me know I'll grab Lexi and can come down later with you if you want."
"Cool," Noah smiled, "Maybe, we'll get back to you on that."
Trevor turned to see Olivia greeting his parents. "Here, let me take Lex, you go and get changed or do whatever you need to do," he told her after she greeted Adam with a smile and a little hug. "Thanks, sweetie," she passed over toddler. She grabbed the suitcase, "I'll take this…"
She headed off down the hall to their room. "Lots of people today, isn't there, honey?," he asked his daughter.
She nodded, "Uhuh!"
Trevor grinned and kissed her. She pointed to an apple on the kitchen counter. "Me!"
"Would you like to eat an apple?" Trevor asked her. She nodded.
"Okay, using your manners, remember?"
"Peas."
Trevor couldn't help but to smile to himself. He turned to his parents who stood had followed him to the kitchen, "when did she last eat?"
"Just some lunch about an hour ago, grandma caved and let her have some fries and nuggets."
"Grandma that was very naughty of you," Trevor told her warningly but he couldn't help but to smile.
"I'm allowed to, I'm grandma," she replied defensively, "and I couldn't let Noah have Wendys and what? Take a little container of cold mushy veggies for this little one. She asked so sweetly and she and Noah shared."
"I know, I know, she's very difficult to say no to," Trevor replied, "but you can, Mom, you can definitely say no and get her a salad or something, she's only little, she doesn't need all that salt and sugar."
"Trevor," his mother warned him, "I raised you and your sister and sometimes nuggets and fries were good enough on hard days and you both turned out just fine and neither of you are junk food addicts, so how about you stop."
"What's going on?" Olivia asked, returning in some sweat pants and a t-shirt. She looked from Georgie to Trevor.
"I took Noah and Lexi to Wendy's for lunch and she shared some nuggets - one and a half actually, with Noah and some fries and Trevor is upset with me and thinks it was because I had a hard time saying no."
"Oh…" Olivia waved her hand dismissively, "some days you just have to give her whatever she will eat. It's fine, Trev," she assured him, a hand on his arm. "There were days I couldn't get Noah to eat anything but plain pasta and fish fingers. She'll be okay, won't you my little darling?"
Trevor sighed and shrugged. "Princess, would you like an apple or would you like a banana?"
Lexi thought for a moment, looking around at her audience before flapping her arms with happiness, "Na-na!"
Trevor grinned. "I thought so."
"Here, I'll put her in her highchair," Patrick offered.
"No, no!" Lexi shook her head.
"Yes, yes," Olivia replied, "remember, you need to eat your food in your chair, we don't eat our food on the floor," she reasoned with her. "Grandpa is going to put you in your chair and you're going to have some delicious na-na."
Lexi furrowed her brow and waved her arms with annoyance. All of the adults had to stifle smirks. Trevor passed her over and grabbed a banana while Lexi protested loudly.
"Someone might be a little tired," Georgie remarked, "she's had a very eventful day. She even played football with Noah and a friend he saw at the park this morning."
"Wowwww, did you play football?" Trevor asked Lexi once she was strapped in to her chair. He broke the banana up in to small pieces and placed it on her clean tray. "Maybe you'll be Daddy's other football star," he grinned at her, kissing her forehead. "Now we just need to get Mommy interested," he added.
"No dice. Football is your thing and I'll come and watch my kid play because he's my kid and I love him, but I'm sorry, you can't get me to come to national team games."
They laughed. Trevor washed his hands of the banana while Patrick took a seat beside Lexi so he could help her out with her food. "So how was your fundraiser?"
"It was actually kind of fun," Olivia smiled at Georgie and glanced at Trevor, "this one," she pointed at him with her thumb, taking a step closer to him, "thought it would be a good gag to make up wild stories about every teacher he introduced me to— I was wondering where on earth am I sending my kid to school?"
Trevor laughed. "She was incredulous. It was great. I told her at the end of the night that I wasn't serious — when I could see she was getting actually a little annoyed."
Georgie and Patrick laughed. "Oh, actually…" Olivia made her way to where she had hung her purse up and pulled out a few strips of photos, "we took these pics." She showed them the Photo Booth pictures.
"Oh wow, you looked lovely, Olivia, and my son scrubs up quite nicely, doesn't he?" Patrick remarked, smiling at the photos.
"Yes, he certainly does," Olivia winked at Trevor. Georgie smiled at the photographs, "you both look so beautiful, my gorgeous babies," it was easy for her to become sentimental when she saw just how happy her son was now that he had Olivia. Olivia was sweet and warm and anyone with eyes could tell just how much she loved Trevor.
She passed the Photo Booth pictures back to Olivia who placed them on the refrigerator with a magnet securing them.
"Hey Dad?" Noah called out from the hall.
Trevor glanced up, "Yeah?"
"Could you please come here for a minute…" Olivia and Trevor exchanged quizzical looks as Trevor made his way down the hall to Noah's room.
He stuck his head in, "what's up?"
"Mmm I just got a text from Ryan asking if we wanted to hang out and it's kinda cool with Adam and I, but… we're kind of done playing football for now, do you think it would be okay with you and Mom if he came here."
"Are you okay with that?," Trevor asked Noah, "because I'm okay with that, but this is your home Noah, if you feel comfortable with Ryan coming in and witnessing your home life in a way that's comfortable for you."
"You mean like…" he paused, "with me calling you Dad and stuff?," he asked gently.
"Well, not just that, but just with having Grandma and Grandpa here and Lexi running around, its a noisy house today, but its entirely up to you and Adam and I'll check it by your Mom."
Noah shrugged, "Adam and I thought maybe we could go downstairs to the pool and hang out and then come back up and maybe have a snack and watch something on TV or a movie or whatever…"
Trevor smiled, "If you guys are going down to the pool then one of us are gonna be coming down with you guys, no offence, but three boys can be a lot for some of the other residents— I know you guys are respectful, but I think Mom or I will still have to come down and keep an eye out."
"Well… is that okay though?" Noah asked.
"Yes, that's fine with me. I'll double check with Mom though, she might have other plans."
"Okay, but Mom did say that we can hang out however we want because its a sleepover."
Trevor smiled. "I know, but Mom was tired when she agreed, you could have got away with a lot more than a sleepover if you'd been smart," he joked. He left them to it and had a quick discussion with Olivia.
"He wants that little shit in our house?," Olivia hissed.
Trevor laughed, "that little shit is trying really hard to make amends, I think."
"Hmmm… okay, whatever you think, but I'll be keeping a close eye on him," she replied.
"Hate the behaviour not the child," he reminded her. "According to Noah he has a lot going on at home, we talked about this…"
"I know…" Olivia shrugged. "Its fine by me."
Trevor kissed her cheek and went to lay down some ground rules with the boys.
