Halo, it's time for a new chapter and begin the Volume 5. Enjoy the reading.
- City of Mistral. – After Qrow was released from the hospital, he and the RRNJL headed to Haven so they could speak with the headmaster of Haven, Leonardo Lionheart.
- It's time! - Nora added a little irritated. The group walked along a dark, lamp-lit corridor and staircase. - Whose idea was it to walk again?
- We've dealt with worse, - Ren encouraged the team. – crashed ships, devastated settlements...
- Oh, - Jaune interjected. – and there were also crazy people and monsters who wanted to kill us.
- Pf, - Ruby just waved. - we managed it. Only one of us almost died.
- Hey! - Qrow just gave his niece a playful glance.
- True, - Lance only joked. – we could do it again next year. - A couple of them laughed at that but Jaune got to the point.
- Anyway, how far is the Haven academy?
- We'll be there soon. - Qrow replied. - I just thought I'd bring you to a good vantage point.
The team reached the end of the corridor, which was blocked by a large wooden gate. Qrow opened it and the sun shone in blindingly but Ruby was the first to look down at the city of Mistral in awe. Mistral was built on a large mountain and many waterfalls dotted the green and gray mountainsides, most of the buildings were built into the rock, passages were carved in so that people, such as our heroes now, could move around more easily.
They could see far away, the other mountains, which were almost as big as Mistral mountain, seemed amazingly far away but they could already see snow on the more distant mountains and there was also a river that started from here, Mistral but it was crossed by the whole continent. It was a breathtaking sight.
- This is cool! - Ruby squealed as the rest of the team joined her.
- I agree your statement. - Lance stood next to her.
There were many bazaars and merchants in the main square of the city but they traded all kinds of goods.
- Look, - Ruby poked out a stand. – they even sell weapons there!
- The merchants here sell just about anything, - Qrow added a little ominously as he spotted a hooded figure in an alley, one handing a small package to the other, who gave him money. – it doesn't matter if it's illegal.
- The whole city is built into the mountain. - Jaune stated.
- As you say, but, - Qrow warned them. – stay away from the lower part, the higher you go, the better you will be.
- And, - Nora confidently pointed upwards. - we're going to the highest!
Haven academy, if it wasn't as impressive as Beacon but the whole academy was surrounded by a much more pleasant and soothing aura. It was surrounded by a smaller, regularly tended forest and its buildings were lower but wider to take up much less space. It's as if the academy was one with nature.
The yard was quiet, they could hear the birds chirping and there were several trees in it which made it a perfect place for quiet contemplation. Ruby even shed a tear as they stopped in front of the school's main building.
- We arrived. - She sighed.
- Yes, - Lance was also relieved that the long journey was over. – we did.
The team kept going but Qrow noticed something suspicious. He didn't say anything, just followed the young ones into the academy. The corridors had wooden floors with red carpets running through them, a wooden bench was scattered here and there, in front of the walls but all the doors were closed and the whole place was too quiet.
- Hello! - Ruby called out but got no response. Qrow moved away but he found the silence very suspicious. – HELLO! - Ruby shouted louder but again she got no answer.
- Maybe try it louder. - Nora said to her.
- I think, - Ren looked around worriedly. - there is no one here.
- After all, - Jaune just held out his arms. - there is no teaching.
- Is this normal? - Lance looked at Qrow who was still worried and upset.
- No, - Qrow spoke up. - this isn't normal. Come! – He instructed the team and started forward.
- Wait! - Ruby ran after him and the others followed.
Qrow stopped in front of an office with two doors, which was clearly the headmaster's, he took out his weapon, Harbinger and the others took out theirs.
- Get ready! - Qrow thought the worst, that they were late and Salem's people had already overtaken them. - There might be trouble! - He raised his leg to kick in the door to the principal's office but before he could do so, the door opened on its own.
It was an older man of average height, with long, gray hair that he wore slicked back, a beard covering his face, matching his hair, wearing a white shirt, a reddish-brown poncho with gold trim, a reddish-brown waistcoat with gold buttons, brown pants, and black shoes.
The man cried out in terror at the sight of the armed party but they were equally terrified at the sight of him and screamed. Qrow recognized the man and it was only after a slight phase lag that he noticed that his leg he intended to use to kick the door in was still in the air, he lost his balance and fell to the ground.
Terrified, the man clutched his chest and fainted. They only noticed him lying on the ground, his lion's tail sticking out, which led to the conclusion that he was a faunus.
- Um… - Ruby was the first to break the silence. – Professor… Leonheart?
- Qrow! - The man sat up panting and stared at Qrow. - For heaven's sake, - He put his hand to his chest and felt how wildly his heart was beating. - you almost scared me to death.
- Me?! - Qrow stood up indignantly and looked at Leonheart. – Haven-t we discussed that you were going to wait for us at the entrance?
- Hm? - Leonheart took a pocket watch from his vest pocket. - Oh, right! Sorry, - He put it back in his pocket and stood up. – I simply watched the time.
- You got to be kidding, aren't you? - Qrow still hasn't relented.
- Where is everyone? – Nora asked before everyone put away their weapons.
- Ah, - Leo looked around the team but instead of answering, he changed the subject. - You must be the students Qrow was talking about.
- Yes sir! – Ruby spoke and saluted. - I'm Ruby Rose!
- Jaune Arc.
- Nora Valkyrie
- Lie Ren.
- Lance Monroe.
- Nice to meet you. - Leo laughed, seeing the energy and courage of the young people. - Leonardo Leonheart, - He put his hand on his chest and tilted his head a little forward as a bow. - at your service. - He continued worriedly. - I'm afraid my staff is out of the house at the moment until classes resume, so…
- What?! - Qrow interrupted, making Leo wince. - Leo, you can't be serious! - Who guards the relic?! - Leo was horrified by the relic, looked at the youths and said angrily, as if Qrow had been telling about some dangerous secret.
- Qrow, the kids…
- They already know! I involved them! What do you mean "the staff is outside the house"?! – Instead of answering, Leo just listened and rubbed his beard.
- Did you initiate them? - Then there was an awkward silence, which Nora broke.
- So, does anyone else think that this isn't going as we expected?
Leo invited the team into his office, which was a round room with all kinds of books on the shelves, Nora and Ren sat on a small couch behind a coffee table while Qrow stood in front of the headmaster's desk, Ruby on his right, Jaune on his left side and Lance stood behind him.
- I have to admit, Qrow, - Leo sat down at his desk which was full of papers. – that was very reckless even of you.
- No, - Qrow shot back. – the reckless thing is leaving one of the relics totally unguarded! You haven't spoken to Oz in years!
- There was nothing to talk about, - Leo insisted. – until the fall of Beacon. But since then, - He stood up angrily. - Mistral descends into chaos! It wasn't just Vale that suffered because of the night. Everyone saw, every household and every kingdom saw that poor girl being torn to pieces, - Everyone remembered Penny how, as part of Cinder and Salem's evil plan, they used Pyrrha to tear her to pieces in front of the entire Remnant. – monsters have flooded the city and Atlas robots are attacking innocent civilians! - He lowered his head in disappointment. - And nothing since then. You can feel the fear in the air. All this negativity, I think it's obvious, only made the Grimms more determined to come for us. - He turned his back and looked out one of the windows to see the city of Mistral. - Mistral is the largest kingdom on Remnant and therefore incredibly difficult to defend. - Unpleasant memories came to mind. - We lost so many Hunters, including the teachers of this institute and the situation is getting worse.
- What do you mean? - Ruby asked worriedly but Leo still didn't turn around, he just leaned on the windowsill.
- We can handle the Grimm but the Mistral council is still negotiating with the Atlas representative. - Leo continued. - First the Dust restriction, now they are closing their borders completely... – Finally, he turned back to the team. – I don't know what happened with James in Vale but since then he's been making more and more unfortunate decisions, which only makes things worse between Atlas and Mistral. - He sighed tiredly. - And on top of that, we still don't know where your Spring Maiden is.
- One more reason, - Qrow still wasn't convinced. – why the Hunters are needed here!
- Okay! - Ruby, like a peacekeeper, stood between the two of them. - Things are bad! Very much! But we can handle it. - She stared questioningly at Leo. - Why is the Spring Maiden so important? - Leo stared at Qrow curiously.
- You said you told them.
- Not everything. - Qrow just shook his head. - Look, I understand, - He took out his flask and took a sip. - that a large area needs to be protected and you stopped the teaching for a reason.
- The four Maidens have an incredible amount of magical power at their disposal and only they can obtain the relics. - Leo explained as he sat back down at his desk.
- What?! - Jaune and the team didn't quite get it.
- The relics are locked in a special chamber and only the given hair can open them. - Qrow took over. – Winter is the Creation, Summer is the Destruction, Fall is the Choice and Spring is the Knowledge. - He took another drink. - The problem is Spring.
- What happened to her? – Ren asked and the two adults looked at him in shame and lowered their heads.
- She was determined at first, - Leo began. – after she got her powers. But the weight of responsibility was too much for the poor child. She… ran. She abandoned her training, her friends and everyone. That was a decade ago. No one knows where she might be.
- I do. - Qrow spoke after putting his flask away. – At least, I have a good idea.
- Are you serious?! - Leo jumped up in surprise.
- I wouldn't say it as good news. - Qrow, if he was sure of his business, was very unhappy about it.
- What are you talking about?! - Leo walked past his desk and happily grabbed Qrow's shoulders. - That's wonderful news! After all these years… where is she?! - Qrow took Leo's hands off him and walked up and down.
- I did a little research. After Spring ran, she ran into some bandits. Specifically, to Clan Branwen.
- Raven. - Leo already understood why Qrow didn't share his enthusiasm.
- Yang's mother? - Jaune remembered.
- Exactly. - Qrow replied, taking out his Scroll and connecting it to the computer on the desk, which projected the map of Remnant, zoomed in on Mistral and marked a certain area within it. - Their camp must be somewhere. They return there after raiding and scouting tours. - Raven gained a lot of followers after returning to the clan and I'm sure it was the Spring Maiden that made her rise to the top in such a short time.
- Well, Qrow, - Leo patted Qrow's shoulder appreciatively. – I must tell you, - He looked at the map. - with these coordinates I can organize a team and we can set off in a few weeks.
- A few weeks?! - Qrow didn't want to wait.
- Exactly. – Leo pressed a few buttons on the computer, which turned off the projection and then with his hands clasped behind his back, he started to sit back in his chair.
- Leo, maybe you didn't hear me when I said, - Qrow leaned on the table angrily. – my sister has Spring Maiden and I know, where is she?! We need to leave as soon as possible! - In his anger, he knocked some books and papers off the table.
- And maybe you didn't hear me, - Leo didn't give in and continued with a raised voice. – when I said this kingdom is in big trouble?! "As soon as possible" doesn't mean tomorrow! It means as soon as I can convince the council that I need the Hunters more than they do! Unfortunately, - He rolled his eyes. - A 'bandit tribe' isn't the very first thing on their priority list when a possible war is imminent!
- Then f*ck the council! - Qrow didn't care about politics. - We're going ourselves! You and I are professional Hunters and these kids aren't exactly amateurs!
- Yeah! – Nora and the other members of the team, who had only been listening and watching, perked up.
- Maybe, - Ren was the only one who wanted a diplomatic solution. – is there a more peaceful solution to this?
- We need to get Spring as far as possible, as fast as possible! - Qrow concluded. - Raven won't give up her most valuable possession easily. Not without a fight.
- The thing is, you and your sister are equal in combat, - Leo countered. - I am no longer the great warrior I once was and don't take it as an insult, - He looked at the youths. – but me and these students may not be able to defeat an entire bandit clan and a Maiden who has mastered her power for so many years! We must make sure we succeed, because if we fail, Raven and her clan will scatter and we will lose them. - He raised his index finger. - We only have one chance and we have to time it perfectly.
Qrow just stared at him with his arms crossed but finally let out a sigh to show that he understood that Leo was right now.
- You know Oz wouldn't be very happy to see all this.
- Maybe you're right. - Leo agreed. - But he's not here. I will do everything I can.
- But there has to be something we can do! - Ruby asked a little broken.
- And what about Cinder Fall? - Jaune remembered. - She came from here, with Emerald Sustral and Mercury Black! Do you have information about them?
- Their information was deleted from the Beacon registry, - Leo couldn't help. - there is only false information about them in the Haven system. - Jaune, knowing he couldn't go after the one who took Pyrrha from him, clenched his fists angrily.
- Well, - Qrow was disappointed. - I wouldn't say it was a pleasant meeting, Leo.
- I'm sorry. – Leo was also hurt by the fact that he couldn't help faster. - I know you've come a long way but I'll do everything in my power to help you.
- Of course. - Qrow was also disappointed. - We're staying in the city for a while. - He took out his Scroll. - The local comm is still working. Let us know if you have something. - He turned and headed for the exit. - Come on, kids.
The others followed but Ruby still turned back to the headmaster.
- Nice to meet you, Professor.
- Likewise. – Leo said goodbye but Ruby could see that something was really hurting him. She didn't ask about it, she just followed the others.
The team made their way to the exit, Qrow leading the way but showing how angry he was at Leo's inaction caused by the damn policy.
- Then now, - Nora asked the question that everyone was curious about. - what should we do?
- You five, - Qrow began. – go back to the hotel. I need a drink.
With that he left them to go to the pub.
- Well, - Lance also sighed. - we wouldn't be able to do anything today.
The RRNJL returned to the hotel they were staying at, Ruby went to her room to read a comic she bought in town while the JNR and Lance just sat in the living room to reflect.
Suddenly, there was a knock and everyone reached for their weapons.
- Maybe it's just Qrow? - Lance guessed.
- It's too early. - Jaune said as he slowly approached the door and opened it.
A child, barely 14, had a freckled face and brown hair. He wore a white shirt, gray-brown bridle pants, orange gloves and orange boots, and wriggled his fingers nervously.
He didn't look familiar and Jaune just looked questioningly at his teammates and Lance, who just shrugged and shook their heads, saying that they too were at a loss as to who this kid could be.
- Can we help? - Jaune asked, slightly confused.
- Um... - The boy just started nervously. - yes! Is there a certain Ruby Rose here?
The JNR team and Lance stared at him suspiciously and prepared for another clash.
- Why? - Nora asked.
- What do you want from her? - And Lance.
- Well… - The boy nervously looked to the side but suddenly Qrow appeared.
- I found him! - Qrow was clearly drunk, but he was happy and excited as he pulled the boy and laughed loudly and staggered into the living room to lie down on the couch.
- Her father needs some help. - Said the boy.
- You mean, her uncle. - Lance corrected him.
- I found him. - Qrow muttered to himself.
- WHAT'S GOING ON OUT THERE?! - Ruby could be heard getting incredibly upset at the noise. – COULDN'T A GIRL BE ABLE TO READ HER COMIC IN PEACE?! - She slapped her forehead in frustration as soon as she heard Qrow's drunken laughter. - Uncle Qrow, are you drunk again?
- Maybe… - Qrow just raised one arm and continued to laugh.
- You... - The boy looked at Ruby and noticed something interesting. - You have silver eyes. - Everyone looked at each other in confusion.
- Who… - The question was familiar to Ruby. - are you?
- Um... - The boy clasped his hands back nervously and looked at the floor in confusion. – my name is Oscar Pine.
- Wait for it. - Qrow chuckled softly.
- But maybe... - Oscar continued. – you might know me as Professor Ozpin. - That surprised everyone, but Qrow was incredibly proud of himself.
- I found him! - Qrow exclaimed, completely happy but eventually he fell off the couch, sprawled on the floor and fell asleep.
Night had fallen in the Menagerie and the town was quiet but in the Belladonna mansion there was a lot of noise as the lord of the house, Ghira and Sun gave voice to their indignation. Although they showed the contents of Ilia's Scroll to the representatives of the White Fang, Corsec and Fennec, they denied that they had anything to do with Adam's plans and couldn't help repeating that the faction led by Adam wasn't a member of the White Fang.
Although it was clear that they were lying, there was no evidence against them, by the law they were innocent.
- This is incredible! - Ghira pushed the door angrily.
- Total bullsh*t! - Sun followed.
- WE CAN'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS! - They finished at once.
- At least you two finally agree on something. – Khali tried to look on the positive side of things, as the two angry men who couldn't stand each other were now completely on the same side.
- It was time for them to make up. - Lynda crossed her arms.
- Why did they quarrel? - Monty just scratched the base of his ear.
- Guys, - Blake was the calmest member of the team and tried to reassure the others. - everything will be fine.
It was getting late and it was time to get some rest, luckily Blake's parents let the Dawn siblings sleep with them just to be safe.
- Lynda, - Monty looked sad and gloomy after they entered their room. - are you going to hurt Luna? – Lynda just stopped at this question, since Luna, her adopted sister has also become a member of the White Fang and is with those who want to attack Haven.
- This is... - She had no idea what to say. – complicated. I hope I don't have to. - Monty, after a moment of silence, asked another heartbreaking question after sitting down on his bed.
- Is Luna angry at us? – Lynda could only stammer again and was again at a loss for words.
- I… - She just scratched the back of her head and looked to the side in confusion. - I don't know. I hope not.
- Then why is she working with the bad people?
- I'm sure, - Lynda just stroked the top of her little brother's head. - that someone lied to her and because of that she made a bad decision.
- I don't want, - Monty wasn't stupid, he knew that if this fight continued like this, one of his sisters would die. – Luna's die.
- I promise, - Lynda put one hand on her younger brother's shoulder encouragingly. - that she won't die. Neither she nor anyone else. - Monty, instead of calming down, just looked into the eyes of his sister, who was surprised by her younger brother's determination.
- You can't promise that, because you can't see the future.
Monty then went to bed but no dreams came to Lynda's eyes, only Luna was on her mind, what would happen if she met her sister again. Not sure how much time had passed as Lynda tossed and turned sleeplessly when there was a soft knock on the window.
One of Lynda's dog-ears twitched at the sound and looked towards the window. She saw a Grimm masked White Fang soldier who silently signaled that she wanted to speak to her. At first Lynda thought about taking the triple blades but when she saw the White Fang soldier take off her mask, it turned out that it was Luna who gave her a sad look and motioned for her to come out to the balcony to talk.
Lynda buckled her wrist straps as she no longer fully trusted her sister but she was willing to talk to her.
- What do you want? - Lynda asked, whispering and suspicious, prepared that Luna might be planning an ambush.
- Just talk. - Luna also whispered and held up her hands, indicating that she didn't want any trouble. - I'm sorry about what happened last night, I didn't know you'd be here.
- What do you mean you didn't know I'd be here?! You wanted to kill Blake and Sun!
- Actually, we only had to observe the Belladonna family with Ilia, we didn't want to fight but you started it.
- Luna, why did you join the White Fang? They are behind the downfall of Beacon and the slaughter of countless innocents! – Luna just kept silent for a while and gave an evasive answer.
- There is no evidence of it.
- F*ck the evidence! - Lynda held up her index finger and pointed it at Luna. - You know the truth well! They want to invade Haven and start a war against humans! I'll ask the question one more time and I'm asking as your sister, - She grabbed the collars of Luna's uniform and pulled her close. - to tell the truth! Why did you join to them?!
- Because... - Luna's mouth trembled, she sadly looked to the side and squeezed her eyes shut, then burst out. – we needed help! - Lynda was shocked but she didn't let Luna go. - Financially, we were last, Monty got sick, I didn't have money to take him to a doctor, you weren't here and the White Fang made an offer! What the f*ck should I have done?! "Thanks, but I don't care. That I would rather watch my little brother starve and lie sick in his bed. Because you've a bad reputation."?!
- Luna… - Lynda finally released Luna and remembered that she herself wanted to enter the White Fang when she thought her team would fail the final exam, but Mike was able to talk her out of it. - I... - Luna also entered now for the same reason Lynda almost did. He wanted to help his family.
- I didn't know what to do, Lynda. - Luna's voice was desperate. - I'd rather you join or leave Menagerie, because bad things are going to happen.
- You want to kill Blake and her family?! - Luna just lowered her head sadly.
- Sacrifice must be made for a good cause.
- Luna, - Lynda just closed her eyes and shook her head. – we won't join the White Fang, we won't leave Menagerie and we won't let you hurt Blake's family. - Luna sighed in frustration.
- If you stay and resist, we won't spare you.
- And what about Monty? - Lynda looked towards the window that led to the room where their little brother was sleeping. - Are you going to kill him too? And if you kill me, what will you say to him? - Luna clenched her fists.
- He'll understand.
- Don't be that sure.
- Lynda, - Luna looked seriously into her sister's eyes. - I came to warn you and give you a chance. I won't do it again. - Lynda just stared at her sister, who took the Grimm mask back. - I'm sorry it turned out this way.
With that she jumped off the balcony and disappeared into the night.
- Me too. - Lynda sighed sadly as she climbed back out the window.
- So, - Yang inquired a bit about Mike's trailer as they traveled. – where is this RV from?
- My grandfather's legacy. - Mike patted the steering wheel. - It was his pride and joy!
- Did he like to travel? - Yang saw how many photographs were on the interior walls of the RV from the various kingdoms of Remnant.
- Yes, and he had a lot of adventures with his best friend, André. Every summer they left their wives behind and traveled to some other kingdom, going on adventures and buying lots of antiques. Most of them are still at home, in our garage. - Mike explained it as if it was perfectly normal.
- Two grown men in a caravan to go shopping? - Yang smiled a little and noticed how good the vehicle was for its age. – It's well maintained for its age.
- Grandfather and Uncle André were very pedantic and obsessed with cleanliness. Once, I caught them washing each other's hair naked in the bathtub. – Mike still didn't understand but Yang thought it's best not to bring up the story of the trailer, so she changed the subject.
- Hey, how about we stop, - She looked at the gas station. – refuel and buy a drink.
- Great idea! - Mike also hit a gas station on the road. - Grandfather and Uncle André always liked to drink coffee at small gas stations until their face packs were dry!
Mike led me up the gas station ramp and into the gas station. They got out, stretched, Mike opened the fuel tank and started to fill the tank, while Yang went into the station to buy a drink.
After filling up the car, Mike also went into the gas station to pay.
- Aren't you a little young, how do you drink? - As soon as Mike walked in, he heard the salesman and Yang's talking.
- Just some water. - Yang replied. – It's quite warm and I just listened to the story of my friend's grandfather of dubious sexuality.
- Oh, - The seller, as soon as he realized the misunderstanding, started looking among the soft drinks. - right now.
Loud laughter could be heard from the other end of the counter.
- Are you too young to drink?! - It was a man, he had long, dark blond, greasy hair, he wore a stained blue shirt, a brown vest, black, fingerless gloves, black, baggy pants, and worn brown boots and he was just staring at Yang. - You look like a real Huntress! - He leaned closer to her. - And it's very pleasure to the eye.
- I'm fine, - Yang almost didn't yell at him. - thanks. – The man stood up and slowly started to approach her.
- Sir, I don't think you should… - Mike tried to warn the man that it's better not to start things with Yang but he just interrupted.
- Fatty, it's better if you don't interrupt. – The man continued to walk towards Yang and continued what he was saying. - Seriously, not too thick, not too thin and...
- I'd listen to Mike. - Yang also warned. - I said I'm fine. - The man was already there, right next to her.
- And your hair… - He was about to touch Yang's hair when she grabbed his wrist and her eyes turned red, he was scared to death but he didn't even have time to react because Yang's fist hit him in the face, causing one of his teeth to fall out and the man fell from the floor to the ceiling, to the floor again, and so on and so forth, like a rubber ball, out the door.
- Is it just me or did this not seem physically feasible? - Mike spoke up. - I tried to warn him.
- This is on the house. – The seller came out with a bottle of mineral water. - He drove me absolutely crazy. – Yang reached for the glass with a trembling hand but the robot's arm touched it, causing her to calm down with a sigh. She took the bottle, opened it and began to drink greedily. - So, what were you looking for?
- We're looking for someone. - Since Yang was still drinking, Mike answered.
- Well, not many people live for that. – The shopkeeper answered with a smile. - We are too far from the kingdoms. The only person worth knowing is... - The shopkeeper stopped and the smile faded from his face.
- Raven Branwen. - Yang finished after drinking her water. - Thank you. - She and Mike headed for the exit.
- Hey, you don't want to mess with bandits, do you?! They are very dangerous!
- That's what we heard. - Yang said goodbye.
- See you later. - So is Mike.
The man Yang had beaten was still sprawled on the ground, his face in pain as Yang and Mike got back into the RV and Mike started the engine.
- Hey, babe! - The man stood up and went to the right window of the RV where Yang was sitting.
- Seriously?! - Yang just rolled her eyes. - Wasn't it enough?!
- I would stop now if I were you. - Mike warned the man again. - You don't want to know what it's like when she gets mad.
- I heard... - He hobbled closer to the RV. – that you were looking for someone. - He stared ominously at the two travelers with his toothless smile.
It was a long journey from Vale to Mistral but Mandy was determined about the White Fang's next plan, even if she didn't know what it was.
- Adam, - Mandy went to the cockpit, where Adam sat in the co-pilot's seat and stared out the window. – would you let us know what the White Fang's next step will be?
- Soon. – Adam fed some coordinates into the plane's computer. - Put the machine down here. - He instructed the pilot, who changed direction without a word.
- But that's not where the White Fang headquarters is. - Mandy interjected.
- We just make a short detour, pick up someone and move on.
Mandy could do nothing but go back to her fellow faunus, who were already White Fang recruits. There were children among them who joined because of the hope of a better life and Mandy believes that the White Fang can give the faunus this better life.
A few hours later, they landed in a forest clearing, leaving the passengers a bit confused.
- Don't panic, dear passengers! - Adam stood up and turned to the passengers to inform them of his plan. - We're just making a detour and picking up a passenger!
The plane's door opened, causing a great draft to hit the passengers and Adam jumped out while the plane was still a few inches in the air. Mandy followed the faunus boy after the plane had fully landed.
After a few minutes of walking, they met an unknown figure who was just waiting for them. One person was male, at least 2 meters tall and full of muscles, his medium-long hair was combed back, his lower face was framed by a beard, but he had no moustache. He wore a pair of black boots, black pants, a black t-shirt, and a green and brown long coat held together by a large buckled belt.
- You must be Hazel. – Adam held out his hand in greeting.
- And you, Adam. – The man returned the gesture, despite his stature, he seemed calm and kind.
- What are we doing with a human, Adam? - Mandy looked a little suspiciously at Hazel, who looked back at her strangely.
- He's a representative of our valuable ally. - Adam replied. - Her name is Salem, right?
- Yes. – The man answered. - I just want to make sure that your leader, Sienna Khan, is willing to keep supporting our plans?
- Beacon's fall must have opened her eyes, - Adam smiled evilly. - that faunus are much stronger than humans and we can defeat them.
- You mean... - Mandy just shook her head and opened her eyes in horror. – a total war… with humans?
- We can win, - Adam was absolutely sure of what he was saying. – if Salem supports us! Faunus will rule Remnant and we will be the ones to bring this new age!
- Then, - Hazel suggested. - let's go as soon as possible.
- Of course. – Adam turned back to the plane, whose engines were still running, followed by Mandy and Hazel.
As soon as the man boarded the plane, suspicious and curious eyes stared at him at the same time.
- What is a human doing here?! – A faunus woman demanded the answer, clutching her baby.
- We don't work with humans! - A White Fang soldier glared at him disapprovingly.
