Note: September is finally here, and you know what that means: the beginning of fall! Granted, that also means that kids are going back to school. In the meantime, it also means that story writers will resume their work while the rest of the world keeps on turning. There are plenty of new movies, TV shows, video games and other stuff being released during this month as well.
In order to keep myself from rambling, it's time for chapter twenty-one.
Chapter 21: The Seventh Sector
One night, Gene was trying to sleep, but he couldn't. It wasn't because he had a nightmare, but because he was excited for what would be happening at school next week. That week would be celebrating the day in which a group of local fishermen had caught gallons of fish, saving Seymour's Bay from starvation during a terrible food shortage. While plenty of people were excited about it, Gene was particularly eager to head to school once they held their yearly celebration. It was primarily because of the feast that Wagstaff would be having, but it was also due to it being the history assignment. The assignment was an essay, but it was one anyone could write and turn in by the end of the week.
While he thought about the holiday while in bed, Gene also thought about the sea. He was especially interested in what was going on overseas. Jeremy and the others had mentioned that another supercomputer was near the school they attended, which meant that anyone with serious sleuthing skills could find it in a matter of minutes. Such a thing could be bad, but Gene put that thought aside. For the next week, the middle Belcher child wanted to focus on what would be happening at Wagstaff. Besides, even if X.A.N.A attacked, it wasn't anything the Lyoko Warriors couldn't take care of.
Down in the lab, Jeremy was looking through the supercomputer's data. Given what happened during the recent mission, he wanted to be sure that what was on the supercomputer near Kadic had been reset. Even if it hadn't, it wasn't a bad idea to check the Sectors and make sure X.A.N.A wasn't in control of a Tower. If he was, then it would be hard to launch a mission, due to how the Return To The Past couldn't been used more than once every two days. The only way to stop the mission would be to have Aelita go by herself and deactivate the Tower before X.A.N.A started to harm the real world. However, that would be a bad idea if the AI had released an army of his strongest monsters to guard said Tower.
After a few more minutes of checking the files, Jeremy decided to leave the factory and head back to Wagstaff. Since tomorrow was a school day, the staff were expecting him to hand back the papers he had graded and resume tutoring certain students. The rest of the Lyoko Warriors were already at the school, so they had likely already gotten things ready for tomorrow. With that in mind, Jeremy knew that he needed to get stuff ready for the computer lab. He ran as fast as he could, hoping that no one would notice that he was gone. As he ran through the night, the spectacled blonde hoped that there would be no problem on Lyoko.
In the factory, the supercomputer began to buzz, as if it were suffering from a software bug. When it stopped buzzing, the interface displayed the Digital Sea, which had six lights glowing in the middle of it. These lights represented each Sector on Lyoko, with the core being represented by a much larger light. However, another light began to glow in the Digital Sea, much farther away than the other ones. It glowed in-tandem with the rest, with the sound of interference and beeping coming from it. Whatever this light was, it was unknown whether it meant good news or bad news for Lyoko and the real world. It would be up to the Lyoko Warriors to decide on the matter.
When the morning came, the Belcher children walked to school, intent on getting through the school day. Tina merely wanted to see what the assignments for the weel would be. Gene hoped to see what the lunch menu would be for the week, considering that it would be celebrating the fishermen who saved Seymour's Bay from starvation. Louise was unenthusiastic about the week, as she found celebrating a group of fishermen to not be a holiday. To her, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas were holidays, while the others didn't matter enough to count. Even if there were important holidays, the nine-year-old put aside her interest for them.
As they attended class, Tina, Gene and Louise got their daily fill of knowledge, most of it centered around each lesson for the week. Outside of an art project and an essay, the students were also required to add their handprint to a mural that would be hung up on Friday. It was mandatory, so the Belcher siblings knew that they couldn't ditch. Even if a X.A.N.A attack broke out, that didn't mean a Return To The Past couldn't be launched to fix the problem. This would prevent the kids from missing out, as well as giving them more time to work on their assignments. After all, it wasn't like anyone would notice that they were gone during the attack, right?
Seeing as they didn't have time to stop by the library to talk to the Lyoko Warriors, the Belcher kids continued on through the day. This gave them enough time to decide on what they would do for their art assignment, considering how the essays often had the same subject, no matter who wrote it. For Tina, hers would be a picture of two fish swimming away from a fishing lure. Gene's would be a diorama showing the fishermen who helped to save the town from drought and starvation. Louise couldn't do anything extravagant, so she was intent on painting a simple picture showing her feelings about the week. The siblings hoped to have these done by the end of the week.
Meanwhile in the teacher's lounge, Odd and Ulrich were just talking to each other. The other Lyoko Warriors were still in the library, grading the papers they had gotten from those who they tutored. The school day was over, meaning that Odd would have to watch over the students who had gotten detention. It wasn't fun, but the blonde had to do it as part of the tutorship program. Mr. Frond had allowed the group to use the lounge as long as they didn't break anything, and they hadn't caused any trouble. The only reason they entered the room was to use provisions and speak to each other.
"Well, looks like I have to watch the school troublemakers again." Odd spoke. "I wish I could swap tutoring duties with you."
"Odd, if you tutored gym, the only thing those kids would know how to do is fall on their faces and drop barbells on their feet." Ulrich said.
"Ha ha, that's very funny." The blonde said out of sarcasm.
"It's true, though." The brunette said. "I need to head back to the others. Have fun playing warden again!"
Ulrich walked out of the teacher's lounge, leaving Odd by himself. Before he could leave, Odd decided to wash his hands, wanting to make sure they were clean. While doing so, the blonde found himself being splashed in the face by the water. He wiped his face, hoping that X.A.N.A wasn't trying to possess him. The teen was in control of his actions, so he wasn't under the control of his enemy. However, despite that, something just felt weird. Why did the water randomly splash despite nothing interfering with its flow?
Walking to the door, Odd could hear the faucet running again. He had turned it off when he was done washing his hands, so it didn't make sense for the water to be running again. Turning around, the blonde could see that the faucet was pouring water, despite it being turned off. As such, the teen panicked, knowing that the room could be flooded.
"Stop!" Odd shouted.
As if on command, the faucet stopped pouring water. While he was relieved, Odd also found this strange. Not only did the faucet keep running despite being turned off, but it had stopped when he had yelled for it to do so. The blonde left the teacher's lounge, deciding to head to the detention room to look after the troublemakers waiting for him. He would have to tell Jeremy and the others what happened, though it was doubtful they would believe him. It would have to take a demonstration to show he wasn't lying, but Odd needed to know what was going on with the faucet.
The next day, Tina was in art class, working on her picture. She had decided to veto anything special, such as paint, choosing to use markers for the picture. It didn't matter what the students used for their art projects, just as long as it had something to do with the weekly celebration. As she worked on her picture, Tina hoped that it would get a good grade, considering that she was working as hard as she could. Compared to the others who took art, she was filled with inspiration, knowing the importance of the events that happened on that very week. Even if it wasn't going to show the fishermen or their boat, it was still going to feature some fish.
When it was lunch time, Gene found himself carrying a tray of fish sticks, tater tots, green beans, peach cobbler, and a carton of milk. As he sat down, the eleven-year-old thought about the essay he was supposed to write. He had gotten the first paragraph knocked out, so he had to write four more. The week was giving the Belcher middle child plenty of inspiration, but he needed to channel that inspiration in his writing. Everyone was writing the same essay, but each one had to be in their own words. Knowing that, Gene needed to get back to work when he had the time, primarily to find the articles he would cite for his work.
Louise was alone in the library, looking for a book that properly spoke about the events of the week. There were plenty of them, but she wanted to find the one that was the most accurate in terms of information. Eventually, the nine-year-old found a book that looked very old, as if it were written centuries ago. It wasn't decaying or broken, but it looked like something you would see in a library during the Elizabethian era. Picking it up, Louise carried the book to a table, deciding to read through it. Not only would it prove to be an excellent work to cite in her essay, but it allowed her to see what really happened all those years ago.
While the Belcher children and their classmates were getting stuff together for their projects, Odd was waiting in the teacher's lounge. He had told the others to meet him in the room, so that he could tell them about the situation with the faucet. They probably wouldn't believe him at first, which was why he was standing next to the sink. After all, if the blonde was going to prove what he could do, then he wouldn't be far away from a water fixture.
A minute had passed and only Jeremy and Aelita came to the teacher's lounge. They seemed rather curious, though Jeremy had more of a skeptical look on his face. Odd couldn't blame either of them, as not even he believed what was going on. But, if he needed confirmation that he was, in fact, the one who had caused water to spray out of the sink despite it being turned off, then he needed to try to demonstrate it.
"Where are the others?" Odd asked.
"They're speaking to the students they tutor." Aelita spoke.
"Seeing as we're the only ones here, can you explain why you wanted us to come, Odd?" Jeremy asked.
"It's a little hard to explain," Odd spoke, "but when I was about to leave the teacher's lounge the other night, water began to pour out of the faucet, despite the fact that I had turned it off. When I told it to stop, it did."
"Did the school update their sinks to take vocal commands?" Aelita asked.
"No, they're still the regular faucets with the knobs and handles." The blonde said. "I went through several scenarios in my head, and the one I think is the most plausible is that I gained the ability to control water!"
"Odd, are you sure that it's not just a coincidence?" Jeremy said. "For all you know, the faucet could've discharged some water that hadn't poured out of it."
"No, I definitely have the ability to control water." The joker said. "Here, I'll show you!"
Taking a step back, Odd raised his arms in a pushing position. Suddenly, the faucet began to pour water, despite the faucet being turned off. While that happened, the blonde made a groaning noise. His lips curled into a goofy smile while his eyes became wide. The water then moved towards the teen, circling him and flying above him. It went back towards the sink, falling into the drain.
As Odd was managing to control the flow of the water that poured out of the faucet, Jeremy and Aelita looked on in disbelief. He never had this ability before, not on Earth, and certainly not on Lyoko. Whatever this was, it wasn't anything good. This had to be X.A.N.A's doing, because it wasn't normal for this to happen. Even though Odd wasn't possessed, it appeared that X.A.N.A had given him control over water. Knowing the AI, this would lead to catastrophe not just for Odd, but for the whole world.
"Hey, the water shouldn't be doing that!"
Turning around, Jeremy and Aelita saw Mr. Frond standing in the doorway. He was just as shocked as they were, and his arrival made Odd stop what he was doing. Once the faucet stopped pouring by itself, the blonde rubbed the side of his head. Clearly, demonstrating this put a strain on his body.
"Odd, were you somehow causing the water to move around, even though the faucet was turned off?" Mr. Frond asked.
"As crazy as it sounds, yes I was!" Odd said.
"That's ... amazing!" The redhead said. "You should demonstrate that on Friday, because people need to see this! Oh, I'll tell Ms. Schnur to schedule a trip to Wonder Wharf, so that you can show off your water powers! But, in the meantime, I want you to demonstrate it in front of her!"
"Hopefully, she likes it." The blonde said.
Odd and Mr. Frond walked out of the teacher's lounge, leaving Aelita and Jeremy by themselves. Before Odd was out of her sight, Aelita noticed that he seemed to be sweating. Not only that, but the blonde had bags under his eyes, as if he were exhausted. His newfound water manipulation was strange enough, but these side effects were concerning.
"This is freaky!" Aelita spoke. "Not only can Odd control water, but Mr. Frond wants him to demonstrate it in front of everyone!"
"Something feels wrong." Jeremy said. "People can't just gain superpowers one night. Not even Odd would become powerful in such a short period of time."
"And it has some side effects on him, too." The pink-haired teen said. "Did you notice how he was sweating?"
Upon hearing that, Jeremy thought about Odd's sudden acquisition of water manipulation. Not only did he seem to enter a trance while using it, but it seemed to cause him some minor pain and leave him exhausted. Of course, that wasn't exhaustion, but rather dehydration. By seeing Odd do that once, Jeremy figured that the team joker would suffer more repercussions the more he used his new powers. If he were to use it on a massive body of water like the ocean, then he could collapse or even die. That was something the Lyoko Warriors couldn't let happen.
After that brief moment in the teacher's lounge, Jeremy and Aelita called everyone (minus Odd, Bob and Linda) into the library. They had to describe what Odd could do now, and what would happen on Friday. Needless to say, the other Lyoko Warriors and the New Jersey Devils were just as bewildered as they were. After all, people don't randomly gain superpowers one night and demonstrate them to those around them.
"So, Odd can control water with his mind now?" Ulrich asked.
"Yes, even though it should be impossible for anyone to do that." Aelita spoke.
"Then he's a Waterbender now." Tina said.
"Or Aquaman if he didn't have the ability to command sea life." William said.
"Being tutors at this school just keeps getting weirder." Sissi spoke.
"Do you think X.A.N.A could be responsible for this, Jeremy?" Louise asked.
"I'll check the supercomputer for an activated Tower." Jeremy said. "In the meantime, if you see Odd, be careful. For all we know, he could lose control and flood the entire town."
"Knowing Odd, that would be horrifying for him." Yumi said.
"Hopefully, we can find the Tower before Friday, because I feel as though Odd will die when he does that demonstration at Wonder Wharf." Aelita said.
Once they left the library, the Lyoko Warriors and the New Jersey Devils agreed to keep an eye on Odd, so that they could make sure he was still alive once Jeremy managed to locate the Tower. Aelita had described what effects his newfound water manipulation had on him, and it seemed inevitable that he would die if the group didn't stop X.A.N.A's attack in time. Not only him, but all of the students of Wagstaff if the blonde's water powers had caused the ocean to drown them. Even if they couldn't save Odd, then they would be able to save everyone else when Jeremy found the Sector the team needed to travel to.
(Soundtrack: Wattersports - Foo Fighters)
For the next two days, the Lyoko Warriors and their allies kept an eye out for Odd. Each time they saw him, he was demonstrating his powers to certain students as they walked down the hallway. He often made the water fountains spray water in the air, using it to make shadow puppets for those around him. In the process, the blonde's eyes moved awkwardly and his smile grew massive for each demonstration. Once he stopped said demonstrations, he looked winded, sweating like a hog and seeming on the verge of collapsing. As he walked away, the group hoped that Jeremy had found the Sector a Tower had been activated on.
While all of this was happening, the Belcher kids continued working on their projects. They had added their handprints to the mural, so they had to work on their schoolwork. Louise had finished most of it, aside from the final paragraph to her essay. Gene still had to work on his art project, but he was done with his essay. Tina was done with all of it, though her essay was a bit short. Despite that, they were confident in turning their work in on Friday.
Once Friday rolled around, the Belcher children were at Wagstaff. They had managed to turn in their essays, though their art was on its way to be displayed. With all of that out of the way, the celebratory meal in the cafeteria was next. Gene was excited to eat it, though Tina and Louise hoped to duck out. It wasn't out of disgust for the food, but rather because they wanted to know if Jeremy had found the Tower X.A.N.A was in control of yet. The moment he found it, he would likely call Mr. Frond and have the guidance counselor give them the phone.
As Gene went to the cafeteria, Louise stayed in the hallway while Tina went to the bathroom. Once her older sister was out, the nine-year-old hoped that a call would arrive, but it didn't. Jeremy needed to be fast, considering what Odd was about to do. The blonde was going to use his newly acquired water manipulation on the sea, and it would lead to dangerous consequences if X.A.N.A isn't stopped in time. Knowing that, Louise and Tina entered the cafeteria, hoping that they would get a call. As they ate lunch, there was no call, which meant that Jeremy was still searching.
When lunch was over, Tina, Gene and Louise were called to Mr. Frond's office. The guidance counselor didn't have much to say, other than the fact the kids were getting a call. Louise was quick to answer it, while her siblings stood by her. As that happened, Mr. Frond left the room, thinking that the call was none of his business.
"Hello?" Louise spoke.
"Louise, has Odd's performance happened yet?" Jeremy's voice came out of the phone.
"Let's see," the brunette said, "no one has drowned and the town is still intact, so no."
"Good." The spectacled blonde said. "I found the Tower X.A.N.A has control of, but it isn't on any of the Sectors we visited."
"Don't tell me there's another Sector on Lyoko!" The nine-year-old said.
"Unfortunately so." The teen said. "I'm planning to send Aelita and Ulrich to it right away, but I'd rather wait until everyone gets here. Well, everyone minus Odd."
"Jeremy, don't waste time!" She said. "Just send the others to Lyoko! One of us will watch after Odd!"
"In that case, come when you're able to!" He said.
After that call, Louise put the phone down and let out an annoyed grunt.
"What's wrong?" Tina asked.
"There's another Sector on Lyoko, and it's one we haven't visited!" Louise spoke. "God, Tina, learn to listen!"
"Should we head to the factory now?" Gene asked.
"Not all three of us." The nine-year-old said. "One of has to be near Odd when he does that crazy water stuff. That someone should be you, Gene."
"Oh, boo!" The eleven-year-old griped.
"Gene, if we don't do this mission, Odd will lose control, destroy the town, and drown everyone!" Tina said.
"And besides, we can tell you what the new Sector is like when we finish the mission." Louise stated.
"Okay, I'll watch after Odd." Gene said. "Head to Lyoko, and be careful, you two!"
Tina and Louise walked out of Wagstaff, intent on heading to the factory. At the same time, Mr. Frond gathered the students, teachers and staff and led them down to the boardwalk. Gene joined the crowd, hoping to be as close to Odd as possible. He hoped that tackling the older boy would stop him from using his powers, allowing him to save the town while Aelita deactivated the Tower. If that didn't work, then the eleven-year-old wanted to try a different tactic. He didn't know what that would be, but that didn't mean he couldn't be a hero.
Inside the lab, Jeremy had gotten the Scanners ready for the Virtualization process. Aelita and Ulrich entered two of the Scanners, waiting to be sent to the new Sector. Once the codes and data were entered, the pink-haired teen and the brunette had been localized on Lyoko. Jeremy watched as their avatars appeared, but he couldn't tell where the terrain was. In fact, it appeared that there was nothing in this Sector, not even the Tower. With that in mind, Jeremy feared that the worst was about to happen.
"Ulrich!" Jeremy spoke into the headset. "Aelita! Are you alright!?"
"Jeremy, what is this place?" Ulrich's voice came out of the headset.
"It looks like the Digital Sea, but it isn't harming us." Aelita said. "I can see a Tower underneath all of this."
"That's peculiar." Jeremy said. "Is there anyway for you to move around?"
"Yes, we can dive." The pink-haired teen said.
"Are we sure that we ended up in a Sector and not the middle of the sea?" Ulrich asked.
"No, you're on a Sector." Jeremy said. "Try to get to the Tower, but be careful! We have no idea what this Sector has underneath the water!"
Tina and Louise entered the lab, all while Jeremy was at the supercomputer. Needless to say, the spectacled blonde heard them enter, so he turned around.
"You guys are early." Jeremy said.
"We had Gene stay behind to watch after Odd." Louise spoke. "So, what's the new Sector like?"
"You won't believe this, but it's an underwater location." He said.
"I thought the only underwater location in Lyoko was the Digital Sea." Tina said.
"Apparently not." Louise said.
"Now that you two are here, head for the Scanners!" Jeremy said. "Ulrich and Aelita will need backup!"
Louise entered a Scanner with no time to spare, wondering just what the Hell X.A.N.A could have hidden in this new Sector. Tina entered one shortly after, hoping that nothing bad would happen. Once they were inside, Jeremy got them ready for Virtualization. He entered the right codes, setting the coordinates for the new Sector. As the Belcher sisters were Virtualized, the spectacled blonde watched as Ulrich and Aelita moved underwater, not being harmed by the environment like how they would in the Fire Sector. However, that didn't mean this one was safe and peaceful.
While moving underwater, Ulrich and Aelita could hear strange noises all around them. There were monsters in this Sector, no doubt about it, but they wouldn't know until they reached the Tower. Before they could reach it, a laser zoomed by Aelita. Looking to the side, she could see a few Mantas swimming towards her and Ulrich. Once they were near, the two Lyoko Warriors tried to fight the monsters. It wasn't easy, due to being underwater, but they were doing their hardest to keep themselves away from Devirtualization.
As Aelita fired an Energy Field at a Manta, she saw another one being impaled by a throwing knife. Once that one was killed, the pink-haired teen saw Tina and Louise swimming towards her. Ulrich was busy with the rest of the monsters, struggling to kill them underwater. It was easier to do so on land, but air and sea were not his best environments for battle. Tina went to his aid, knocking a Manta back with her staff. With that attack, she was able to distract it enough for Ulrich to kill it.
"Don't waste time, guys!" Jeremy warned. "Remember, Odd could use his water powers at any minute!"
"Well, if this Sector wasn't at sea, we'd move a helluva lot better!" Ulrich said.
"I'll try to get to the Tower, Jeremy." Aelita spoke. "In the meantime, keep an eye out for the others!"
Upon hearing that, Jeremy continued to look over the data of the new Sector. He would occasionally look behind him, as to see if anyone else had arrived. The spectacled blonde did not lose focus on the mission, however, knowing that a simple distraction could jeopardize it. As he watched the others fight, he hoped that Gene would be able to stop Odd from flooding the boardwalk.
On the boardwalk, Mr. Frond was standing in front of a large crowd, Odd standing beside him. The crowd was full of students, teachers, and a few passersby. Gene was in the crowd, waiting for the right moment to act. If he didn't, then not only would Odd die from using his new powers, but he would end up drowning everyone and flooding Seymour's Bay. The other Lyoko Warriors were in the crowd as well, though they were farther away from Odd. No matter who acted first, they had to stop the jokester from using his powers.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our presentation!" Mr. Frond spoke. "Not only will we celebrate that week where several heroic fishermen saved the town from starvation, but you will be witness to a boy who can control water! That boy happens to be Odd Della Robbia from Kadic Academy!"
"That's right everyone!" Odd spoke. "Not only will I manipulate the water around us, but I shall show you the creatures underneath! And one more thing, from this day on I am no longer Odd Della Robbia! Call me Poseidon!"
Looking around him, Gene could see things shaking, meaning that Odd was about to go through with it. He would have to act fast, considering the amount of damage that would befall Seymour's Bay once the teen lost control. The eleven-year-old watched as he got that wide-eyed expression with the goofy smile stretching across his face. Knowing what was about to happen, the middle Belcher child slowly walked out of the crowd, intent on tackling Odd like a football player. It might land him in detention, but at least the town would be saved. Even if there were some damages done, a Return To The Past could fix everything.
"Gene, what are you doing?" Rudy asked, being in front of the crowd.
"Saving the town." Gene said, turning his attention to his teammates. "Guys, head to the factory! Jeremy's waiting on you!"
Once he said that, Gene saw Odd standing below a massive tide. The teen still had his goofy smile, but it was starting to become an open mouthed expression. Not only that, but his eyes looked like they were rolling to the back of his head. He let out a loud moan, sounding both pained and pleasured. Seeing that, Gene rushed towards Odd, hoping to stop him before he killed himself and the entire town. Mr. Frond was beside him, but that didn't matter to the eleven-year-old.
"Snap out of it!" Gene shouted. "Don't use your powers or you will die!"
"Gene, what are you doing?!" Mr. Frond spoke.
"Mr. Frond, I can explain!" The eleven-year-old said. "Odd's powers are cool, but they're also killing him! We need to stop him!"
"I've seen enough movies to know that you shouldn't try to stop someone with powers!" The guidance counselor said. "But, if you want to try, then please be careful!"
Grabbing onto Odd, Gene shook him, trying to snap him out of his hydrokinesis-induced trance. The teen did not respond to this, only continuing to use his new powers. Water started to rain down on the boardwalk, hitting each plank of wood violently. Odd was losing control, and he would die at any minute. Gene couldn't let that happen, knowing all the bad stuff that would happen afterwards. He had to try a different approach, even if it wouldn't work.
Back on Lyoko, Aelita swam closer to the Tower while the others fought the Mantas. No one had been Devirtualized, but it seemed like that would happen if they remained in the Sector for much longer. With that in mind, the pink-haired teen entered the Tower, only to fall flat on her face. It caused her some life points, but she was quick to stand back up. The teen walked to the middle of the panel, then flew up to the one on top. As that happened, Ulrich and Louise killed a Manta together.
Now that she was on the top panel, Aelita accessed the Tower's data, then input "Code: LYOKO" into the holographic screen. This deactivated the Tower, stopping X.A.N.A's attack for now. While no one knew if Odd had done damage to the town, they figured that he was in the process of using them. As such, a Return To The Past was necessary, in order to prevent the world from going into a panic.
"Return To The Past now!" Jeremy said as he entered the code.
Once it was triggered, the Return To The Past began to spread around the world. A blinding white light shot out of the supercomputer, immediately engulfing the factory. It slowly grew, rewinding time for each area it covered. The light soon reached Wonder Wharf, where Gene was still trying to snap Odd out of his powers-induced trance. However, they were soon caught in the Return To The Past. As the light surrounded Earth, it caused the planet to go back to yesterday morning. When all was said and done, only those who were added to the supercomputer would remember what happened.
When the Return To The Past was done, the Lyoko Warriors found themselves back in the library. The school was still intact, and there didn't appear to be any news reports about any drownings or property damage. Knowing that everything was back to normal, they were relieved. However, something still felt off.
"Hey, guys, can I ask you something?" Odd spoke.
"What would that be?" Aelita spoke.
"Did someone slap me?" The blonde said. "The right side of my face is red."
Turning his head towards his friends, Odd showed that he was not bluffing. Not only was the right side of his face red, but the redness seemed to show a handprint. Upon seeing that, the Lyoko Warriors were silent. It wasn't much of a stretch to assume that Gene had slapped the older boy, but they didn't expect him to hit that hard. The eleven-year-old appeared to have more strength that he seemed. Perhaps keeping an eye on him wasn't a bad idea.
Elsewhere, the Belcher kids had the opportunity to add more to their essays. With the Return To The Past, it gave them more time to work. As such, Tina added a few more sentences to certain paragraphs while Gene and Louise found better sources to cite in their essays. The extra stuff might mess up their grades, but it didn't matter. More was added, and the kids were able to turn these essays in. Perhaps being more committed to their craft came in handy after a Return To The Past.
Note: Looks like the day has been saved once again. What else could be lurking in this new Sector? Who will get to enter it next? Are Bob and Linda going to be involved in the next mission? How will they contribute, knowing for a fact they can't enter Lyoko? Can the Lyoko Warriors find a way for them to be Virtualized?
On a side note, I am going to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice tomorrow. If you wish to comment, please do not leave spoilers.
Until next time, guys, this is ElectricWizard99 signing off. Peace!
