Trufflehunter shuffled to the front of its cave and stood, blinking in the sunlight. It was just an ordinary morning, where Trufflehunter had plans to go with Pattertwig and look for acorns. But the rising sun woke Trufflehunter up early, and as it looked out over Narnia, it remembered once again.

It remembered when it had to hide; when once the branches had to be piled beside the door to cover it. Now, Trufflehunter grew little red flowers, and a nice path with smooth stones ran right to its doorstep. Now Trufflehunter could stand in the sunlight and greet its neighbours and not worry about being seen.

"Caspian made a great king," it mused. "The giants beaten back, the Narnians old and new at peace…and now he's off to a new challenge." The great black-and-white head shook. "Peace won't come easily to him till he finds something to settle him down."

Trumpkin was pleased to report when Caspian came back that nothing of great moment happened while the King was away, except the ever-new, ever welcome sensation of peace. And Trufflehunter agreed.

A/N: Guys, I tried, I really did. But I don't think I have anything but sad stories in me tonight, but I don't want to write it, so this is what I wrote instead. I think this prompt had the ability to be a great story, and I hope someone else writes it!

Prompt 26: In Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Lucy, Edmund, and Eustace left before Caspian could return to Narnia. Tell a tale set in Narnia during their voyage. Did any drama or shenanigans happen while Trumpkin ruled? What happened while Caspian was away?
