Beyond that, I'm actually pretty surprised by how popular this has been. Maybe I should put some extra focus on it? Well, we'll see how it goes. Grind monkey gamer boy Yukio awaits you.
"…Actually thinking about it, I might have went overboard." Yukio gave a sheepish laugh.
It was night around and dark outside, just passed ten at night to be exact. And spread out over the couch were his purchases for today.
Not just over it, but spread out at the top and across the bottom as well. And he had a really big couch, like over twenty feet long big.
He'd spent a shit ton.
Large tubs of protein powder and protein bars of all flavours. Pre work out energy boosters, mass gainers, the works. Multiple boxes of large pre made meals filled with all the vitamins he'd need and of course packed with vital proteins.
Protein was the name of the day.
Those took up a third of the couch and the floor right beneath it. The next third of the massive couch was filled with tons of clothes. He'd practically outright bought out everything in his size and a few sizes above at the local high end sports store, he was even dressed right now in a pair of expensive designer jogging pants and designer tank top that showed off his pitifully noodle like arms.
And the final third of the couch was of course filled with a ton of new games and DVD's he picked up at the game store.
If he was going to be spending a full hundred days in his fullbring, he wanted all the entertainment to get him by that he could get his pitifully scrawny little hands on!
He'd spent two and a half million yen on everything in front of him. Which was if had his math right, over twenty five thousand dollars of US money.
"Pay to win is the best." Yukio laughed to himself happily. Sadly for the random poor shmucks of the world, that would always be true. All the effort in the world wouldn't let you surpass someone who put in the same effort, and had the resources to tip everything in their favour from the start.
It was like a game his other self played, that sadly didn't exist in this world. Called Runescape, an MMORPG. The max level a skill could go to in that game was ninety nine. Reaching a level of that normally, took at the very least weeks of diligent effort for that one skill alone.
But for quite a few of them, if you had the money to throw at it, you could hit the max level in a couple of hours.
That might have just been a game, but that same thing also applied to reality in many ways.
Like for instance, his good old dummy stand in Hiroshi had already managed to secure a nice penthouse apartment for him in Karakura Town, one of the most expensive places in the town, equipped with everything he needed and desired in a living space.
It hadn't even been ten hours, yet he already owned that place now. Admittedly, it wasn't quite up to par with his current residence, but it was still a very nice place that would be ready and furnished for him to move into within a couple days.
That was the power of leveraged resources.
"Speaking of leveraging resources though." Yukio hummed and held his hand out, summoning his fullbring gauntlets. He flexed his fingers and shimmering polygons swarmed around the items upon the couch, before disappearing a moment later.
And then he clicked his fingers and reality twisted around him as he appeared in the main command room of his Fullbringer world, where all his purchases now sat atop a large table in the middle of the room.
He clicked his fingers again, and two humanoid robots shimmered into existence in a shower of polygons, "Sort the clothes out, scan the games into the database and store the food away for me to use later." he ordered.
Without saying a word, they got right to it, making their way over and beginning to lift items up one by one.
They were the standard and weakest 'beings' he could summon within Invaders Must Die. Admittedly, the more reiryoku he used to create them, the stronger they would be, but in general they were still the weakest, and also the only creation he could control without issue.
All the other creatures he could make, were alien enemies from the games and much more powerful. He could control them pretty easily normally, but if he summoned too many of them, or if his concentration was messed up, they would revert to their programming from the base game.
That being kill any human in sight, including him.
That said, they were incredibly useful, and would prove much more useful in the future. Subordinates to take care of tedious things for him were always useful.
"Alright, time to get started then." Yukio nodded to himself, and clicked his fingers once more.
The world shifted around him as he warped through his world and appeared in a large futuristic gym.
'First things first, let's test out just how strong I am." Yukio mused, making his way over to the benching bar.
He dismissed his gauntlets, he didn't need them while within this world to access his power and wearing them augmented his physical strength. He wanted to get a feel for his base strength.
With a thought, the bench itself moved out of the way and shouldered his way underneath the bar. It was just the base for for the moment though.
He'd need to change that.
"Let's try three hundred pounds to start." Yukio didn't so much as think, as he did order the world around him into compliance. As he did, multiple weighted plates appeared on each side of the bar, totalling up to one hundred and fifty pounds on either side.
"Alright, let's try it out." the young blonde boy grinned to himself, lifting his arms up to grasp the bar over his shoulders, and then heaving up-
Rather easily.
He barely even felt any strain at all.
"So three hundred is pretty light for me, huh?" his grin widened as he tested out lowering into a squat, and rising back up to rest it on the resting clasps, "Right, let's try a bit more. Boost the weight to eight hundred pounds." he ordered.
The weighted plates on the bar shimmered once more, as more appeared and the weight was topped up. Yukio grasped the weighted bar once more and lifted it up. He had to strain a little but, but once again found himself easily being able to squat the eight hundred pounds of weight.
After that, Yukio doubled it to a full sixteen hundred pounds. And while he felt the strain of it, it wasn't even a mild strain and he was able to squat the weight without issue.
He next tried two thousand pounds, a full ton, and while there was more strain, he was still able to comfortably squat the weight without too much issue.
It was almost surreal how a scrawny little thing like him could so easily lift such a vast amount of weight.
More and more Yukio increased the weights on the bar until he began to struggle mightily. Until he could squat no heavier and almost felt his legs give out beneath him from the weight.
Twenty six hundred pounds.
Sweat dribbling down his face onto his tank top, Yukio after finding his maximum weight collapsed on his backside and panted deeply as he tried to catch his breath, "…That's not bad at all…" he huffed out with a grin.
He had not trained a single day in his life physically, yet he was capable of lifting and squatting nearly a ton and a half.
He could lift a small car above his head without issue!
That was incredible.
And to think that was without his gauntlets and boots. Or his new hollow mask! He could probably easily lift three or four times his current maximum with them, ten tons or so probably!
He could juggle small buses at that point!
"Just think of what I'll be able to when I actually have trained properly." Yukio laughed, rubbing his hands together gleefully.
So this was the grind his other self, or rather he was so obsessed with in his other life? The appeal truly dawned on him now!
It was just like having a powerful high level account in a popular game. And the relish he felt in watching his stat numbers rise! He loved games that he could New Game Plus with after gaining every boost he could and keep his stats, and then taking them all over again.
Just like Lightning Returns-
"Wait that's not a game in this world either." Yukio realised after a moment, that was a game his other self played an incredible game where the protagonist of the game got stat boosts and such from completing quests, tasks and such to absorb power. And couldn't go any higher at the end of the game, but upon completion could enter New Game Plus and start at the beginning with those already risen stats and do it all over again, albeit with much more reduced increases from the new game quests each time!
But that was what made it so damn worth it!
He relished in the feeling of raising his numbers!
Twenty days passed, and despite Yukio's initial misgivings about throwing himself into training so much consecutively, it wasn't so bad at all.
In fact, it was a lot of fun.
"Come on! Come on! Come on! Last one! Get it up you pussy!" Yukio growled at himself, vein pulsing on his forehead and legs trembling as he rose up from a squat, a thick bar with two truly massive thick weighted plates on either side resting over his shoulders. Halfway through a squat, he almost felt his legs give out beneath him, before- "RAAAAAGH! TWENTY!" he roared like a beast and found a second wind as his stamina restored just a little bit mid squat through the restorative effects of his fullbring and surged up.
Up and up, to his full height and even higher as he lifted the bar up above his shoulders and held it aloft above him. And then there was a massive thundering bang as he stepped back and dropped it in front of him, the entire room around him shaking from the sheer force of the massive weights dropping to the ground. "That's what I'm talking about, wooh yeah!" Yukio cheered, slapping his chest and pumping his fists in two quick little jabs.
Five tons!
That was how much weight he just squatted and then lifted straight above his head!
He walked around for a good minute shaking out his arms and shoulders. He could outright feel the tears in his muscles, in his hands, his biceps, his shoulders and even his legs.
Each movement burned.
And yet it felt could, because the burn only lasted a little bit before it began to ebb away. Within another minute, it was gone entirely and he was fully healed.
And stronger than before.
And the fatigue and exhaustion he was feeling, disappeared as if he took a quick shot of energy drink. Yukio dropped to his hands and feet, "Simulate eight times gravity." he ordered.
And a moment later, the world itself shifted as the weight of everything increased. The very air pushing down on his back was almost stifling as gravity multiplied eight times over and tried to crush him into the ground.
Yukio let it for just a brief second, before extending back up into a push up, and then down, and then up, and then down and then up! Each time he went down he held it for a second or two, before rising up and holding it for the same time, before repeating it over and over again.
He repeated it fifty times.
Then took a fifteen second break.
Then performed another fifty push ups.
And took another fifteen second break.
Before repeating it a third time.
And then a fourth.
And finally a fifth.
Only then did Yukio allow himself to collapse on his back and give out a deep satisfied breath, "That was goooooood." he laughed lightly, his eyes flickering over to the side of the room where a massive television screen was playing a new ecchi anime.
A snort was drawn from him as he watched one of the minor antagonists on the screen, some perverted loser with a gauntlet that doubled his strength and power or something like that got knocked out in one blow by the main character, who then started talking with the perverts 'master', a hot older redheaded chick who wanted to recruit the main character to her group.
His eyes drifted away from the screen and for a moment he just stared at the ceiling, laying there and basking under the increased gravity.
That was a really good work out.
They all had been actually. And he had the results to show for it. Already his noodle spaghetti arms had practically doubled in size, his shoulders broadening out.
Not to mention his legs.
Twenty days ago he had scrawny little chicken legs and could wrap two fingers around his ankles, now they barely reached halfway around his ankles.
He could scarcely imagine how much his body would broaden out and bulk up from here on, he was only a fifth of the way into his planned training time after all.
He had a whole other eighty days to go!
Speaking of results though…
"Should I?" he wondered.
He was itching to see it, his numerical indicator of reiryoku. When he started, he'd done so with the idea of not looking at it at all until the full hundred days had passed.
His reiryoku was always passively in use, it was put into healing him after all while he worked out and all the functions going on around him within this world. And yet it passively regenerated almost as quickly. Every moment he was in here, his spiritual power was in use, and thus passively growing.
And at the end of every work out, he exhausted his spiritual power to near empty to help it grow further.
"Fuck it." Yukio laughed and decided to just go for it, "Bring up a scan of my spiritual power." he ordered aloud.
A split moment later, a holographic screen popped up in front of him, and his eyes widened at the number reflected back at him.
384,217.
Holy shit.
A near fifty thousand increase?!
'If I keep up at this pace and the increases are steadily around the same, then when I finish it'll be approaching six hundred thousand!' he gaped.
Nearly another double from what he started with!
Bringer Light was the high speed movement technique of fullbringers. Their answer to the Hirenkykaku of the Quincy, the Shunpo of the Shinigami and the Sonido of the hollows.
The application of it differed quite thoroughly from them however. Beyond their fullbring itself, fullbringers had truly only access to one ability. Manipulating the souls found in objects, and even the air.
Bringer Light was used through multiple applications of that ability. Manipulating the souls of the wind behind the user to push them forward. Manipulating the souls in the wind around them to decrease drag and allow the user to speed up even more. Manipulating the souls of the wind or whatever else was beneath the user to create platforms to move on. And manipulating the souls of the wind in front of the user to clear the way.
On paper it sounded incredibly complicated.
In practice, it wasn't actually all that hard. For the most part, it was purely instinctual.
Green light sparked around Yukio's legs as he blurred out of view, avoiding a hail of gunfire that tore through the air he was previously standing atop.
He was currently within a wide open rocky plain, surrounded on all sides by robots of his own creation, each one armed with high power gatling guns, missile launchers and more.
Not to mention-
A roar split the air as he landed out of the way of the gunfire, a massive titanic humanoid beast launching itself towards him, a gigantic fist multiple times larger than he was tall smashing down at him.
It hit nothing but air.
Literally.
'Heh.' Yukio smirked at the wall of air blocking the titanic fist from reaching him. He had manipulated the souls within the air to form a shield. He twisted his hand, green light flashing through the air blocking the fist and the tightly packed air shield surged up into a swirling vortex of wind that slammed into the massive humanoid beast and tore it up into the air, high into the sky and sent it flying off into the distance.
It would have quite the painful fall, especially considering this whole area was currently under ten times normal gravity.
He didn't have time to admire his handiwork and robots rushed him from each side, missiles firing and bullets shooting forth.
He flexed his hands out, green light illuminating the ground before it swelled up around him, forming a protective dome that shielded him from the ammunition
And then he flexed his hands again and the dome exploded outwards in a rain of spiritually enhanced debris chunks that smashed into the group of robots around him and crushed them.
'Ginjo and the others are idiots.' Yukio decided. While the range was somewhat limited, fullbringers through their ability to manipulate the souls in all things, had near full command of their surroundings to do their bidding, and had full access to a form of tactile telekinesis.
And yet, despite knowing how to use the ability, they simply didn't. It was absolute buffoonery.
He shook his head, "Computer simulate melee combat droids, Myriad weapon mode." he ordered allowed, and pumped a large chunk of his reiryoku into his fullbring to enhance the strength of the robots brought forth.
As he did, there were shimmers all around him as dozens of robots armed to the teeth with close quarters weapons shimmered into existence in a hail of polygons. Blades, gauntlets, staves, tonfa, chains, daggers and more were hefted by the summoned robots, before they all rushed him at blurring speeds, far beyond human limitations.
It was currently day forty four.
On his twenty first day inside this simulated world, he'd decided to add an extra two hours to his training days, dedicated to fighting against his summonable alien monsters and robots to fix his most glaring issue-
That of never having fought a day in his life.
From hand to hand fighting droids, to weapon wielders. To facing off against guns of all manners and sizes shooting at him from every which way, to facing off against the giant alien beasts.
Which began to get too easy two weeks into that, so each day he had started increasing the gravity during such training simulations by an extra one more each day.
It surprised Yukio, that as his training session on the hundredth day within his fullbring came to and end.
He was actually disappointed.
He returned to the real world, within the middle of his penthouse apartment and for a moment, he just stood there, a little listless.
It was almost weird being back in the real world again after spending a full hundred days within his fullbring training hard.
"…I kinda wanna go back in." Yukio snorted to himself. The first few days were rough, but after a week he really got into the swing of things.
It was a simple time, and enjoyable. He'd eat, bathe, get dressed. Head to his training area, train for hours while enjoying anything he wanted on the big screen or listen to music and keep his mind occupied. Eat again, then get back to it. Eat again, then fight against his summonable beings. Eat again, and then relax for the other half of the day watching anime, reading manga, playing games and get some sleep in.
It was maybe a little lonely, but it was truly enjoyable nonetheless.
He honestly felt like a completely different person from the him who first went into his fullbring a hundred days ago.
His eyes flickered over to the windows, noting the darkening sky outside. Only two days had passed out here, not even a full two days even. But, his attention wasn't really on the darkening sky outside his window, but rather the mirror at the side of the window hanging on the wall.
He stared at his reflection, and honestly-
"I barely recognise myself." The blonde boy laughed lightly to himself. The difference was like night and day. He'd grown an inch or two. That was probably normal, but the him he saw in the future, of that other timeline was diminutive when he was around fifteen, not any taller than he was before he entered his fullbring.
The effects of atrocious eating habits, no exercise and an unhealthy life style for sure.
Granted it still put him on the short meter, but far better than he was before. And he was still very young, perhaps he'd actually shoot up over the next few years unlike his other timeline self.
Either way, it wasn't just the few inches. He was massively broader than he was before. His shoulders were broad and powerful, and even through the simple black hoodie and blue sweatpants he was wearing, his vastly increased and powerful musculature was easily noticeable.
Even his face was thinner and more angular, having lost a lot of the baby fat he had.
He pulled up his sleeves and grinned, flexing his forearms which were practically like three times the size they were compared to when he first entered the fullbring.
"Shit, I look good." Yukio admired himself as he stuck one hand into his sweatpants pocket and leaned to the side a bit and gave his reflection a once over.
He'd went through an incredible transformation over the last hundred days of training himself to the limit. Which was to be expected.
He'd checked to be sure as he finished up his last training session. His Reiryoku numbers had increased to just below five hundred and fifty thousand. Not quite a double increase of what it was at before he entered his fullbring, but not far off.
And had increased the maximum amount of weight he could lift to just over fifteen and a half tons.
Satisfaction burned deep within him as he turned away from the mirror and held his hand out, summoning his phone from his inventory, "Let's see if Hiroshi has got my place ready for me." he mused.
If he did, he could head over to Karakura right now and scope things out.
As it turned out, his new penthouse apartment in the lovely little Karakura Town, was indeed ready.
And Hiroshi was quick to get someone to bring the keys to the place over to him.
Truly the power of pay to win was astounding.
And a massive cheat.
Twirling his shiny new keys over one of his fingers, Yukio lounged on his massive couch and hummed thoughtfully, "What to do, what to do?" he mused, green eyes staring up at the ceiling.
Honestly, he could be in Karakura Town in the next ten minutes if he wanted. With Bringer Light he could blitz through the air and get there rapidly. Karakura Town wasn't exactly all that far from Tokyo to be honest.
That was a boring way to do it though.
No he already had a plan for making his way to Karakura that would, while take over an hour, be much more fun.
Rather, he was pondering on what he should do about his mask.
Holding his other hand out, Yukio summoned his hollow mask and eyed it thoughtfully, "…I really wanna test out my new power." the boy admitted with a click of his tongue.
After all the training he went through, after all the growth his physical body and spiritual power had gotten. After all the experience he'd gotten fighting his summoned robots and alien beasts, he was antsy to test out his strength.
He brought the mask to his head, and put it on, relishing in the feeling of strength that surged through him as his hollow power leaked into him.
And then he swiped his hand through the air.
A ripple formed in the air, before it peeled back like a zep on a jacket and a hole formed in the in the air in front of him, displaying an inky black void of darkness.
The realm between worlds.
He'd spent days puzzling out how to open a garganta while within his fullbring world, and after six days finally managed to do it.
He could head to Hueco Mundo right now and start on his secondary grind, the grind to empower his hollow mask and see where he stood a little bit better by hunting down some Menos Grande class hollows.
Heck, he was already sure he was well stronger than an Adjuchas before he even went inside his Fullbring to train himself to an all new level, 'If I played my cards right I could probably get the jump on a few arrancar like that Aisslinger guy.' he mused.
Especially after he evolved his mask by hunting down prey to empower it in the forest of menos.
God he wanted to hurry up and do it. He couldn't wait until he could create and fire his own Cero blast! His other self had loved the spiritual laser blast, and he definitely did too.
And that wasn't even taking into account that thanks to the knowledge he had, he even knew how to fire off a Gran Rey Cero as well!
God firing off one of those would be so god damn epic!
Yukio stared at the tear in the world before his eyes almost longingly, before he sighed and pulled his hand back, sealing the void shut and dismissing his hollow mask.
"Soon." he told himself as he stood up, stuffing his new keys in his pocket and left his Tokyo residence behind.
He took the elevator down from the massive expensive apartment complex and made his way outside the building.
He looked around to make sure nobody was watching him, before holding his hand out.
Polygons shimmered in the air before him with a simple thought, dispersing a moment later to reveal a gleaming pitch black futuristic motorcycle with glowing orange veins of light running over it.
With a grin, Yukio hopped on it and rev'd the engine loudly and proudly, before zooming off and heading for Karakura Town.
And there we go, chapter 3 comes to an end ey? Like it? Lump it? Pump it. Maybe even hump it. You horny bastards.
Technically, not a whole lot went into this chapter. It was pretty much just the grind. But that in of itself, is telling. Yukio just spent 100 days within his fullbring world, and barely any time had passed in the real world. It is just one of the many, many abilities available to Yukio within Invaders Must Die. He can heal, create any of the technology within, manipulate the terrain, even control the gravity and more. Not to mention summon all the monsters of Invaders Must Die and such as well, and create Hard Light shit. Yukio's power is actually bullshit.
But yeah, this chapter was simply a little bit important for establishing the early growth, and to showcase the fact that Yukio as a person, has all the power and resources he needs to speed run his way to the top, and this was to establish that more or less.
But hey, it isn't just Yukio that can get the benefits of his powers, as we saw with Ichigo and Orihime and such in canon. And that will indeed play a larger roll going forward.
Putting that aside, it's a shame I can't post images or anything on this fanfiction website, I've got updated character images for Yukio and such after this point that shows what he looks like now and would help immerse you guys better. But oh well.
