Chapter 3: Walker's Plan

Once the situation with the octopus-like ghosts was resolved, Danny returned to his seat. Now he and Star were sitting back together.

"Okay, where were we?..."Danny asked.

"You were telling me about how Walker was apparently planning something nasty again and you somehow got caught in it..."Val said.

"Oh, right. As I was saying...at the time, we had no idea that creep was up to. And me and Star were just making plans for the weekend..."Danny said.

"Plans that were ruined by that jerk..."Star said bitterly as they continued the tale.

Story

Danny and Star had been in the middle of their movie date, when certain ghosts decided to interrupt them and scared all the patrons out of the movie theater.

It was Johnny, Kitty and Spectra for some reasons. Now, the couple was outside and they were busy fighting them as the ghosts kept causing trouble.

"Shadow, attack!..."Johnny said as he sent his shadow to Danny and Star.

"So not what I meant when I said I wanted to have an "exciting" start of our pest-free weekend..."Danny said as he fired ectoblasts at the shadow ghost.

"Same..."Star said, as she used her ecto-saber against Kitty who blocked the attack and sent her a smirk.

"Aw, look Johnny. I guess this has turned into a double date..."Kitty mocked, as Shadow growled at Star, who avoided it.

"If this is your idea of a "double date", then I really don't want to know about your idea of romance!..."Star snapped at her, using her saber to slash at shadow.

"If this is supposed to be a double date, what does that make me?..."Spectra muttered, since they seem to have forgotten her presence.

"A bitter old spinster who's doubles as a third wheel..."Star mocked, making Danny snicker.

Spectra's eyes flashed red in anger.

"Those are going to be your last words, brat!..."Spectra said, fuming as she shot a ghost ray at the blonde girl.

Danny protected Star by blocking the blast by creating an ectoshield, protecting them both.

"You'll have to get passed me first to get to her, ya quack!..."Danny said, refusing to let her harm a single beautiful hair on Star's head.

"Aw, look at the knight in shining armor defending his damsel in distress. It's so sweet it makes me wanna puke..."Spectra mocked as she fired more ecto-blasts at the heroic teenaged couple.

"I'll show you damsel, you witch!..." Star shouted as she pulled out an ecto blaster and began to fire.

Danny wanted to help her, but Johnny and his shadow began to attack him again. All the while, Star used her cheerleading and gymnastics skills to dodge and avoid rapid firing of ghost energy blast coming from both Spectra and Kitty.

"Who do you think you are anyway, Kim Possible?..."Kitty quipped while Spectra frowned while the blonde girl sent them a challenging glare.

"Kicking your butts and getting back to my fun date with my boyfriend? No big..."Star said as she avoided their blasts and used her saber to block their attacks.

While Star was dealing the two female ghosts, Danny was with his own two ghosts of Johnny 13 and his shadow. Danny tried to make Johnny's shadow make a tactical retreat to its owner, while also trying to avoid Johnny's bike and fists, though that was easier said than done.

The blonde biker had been wanting to blow off steam and his favorite target was Danny.

"Freeze, motorhead!..."Danny said as he fired an ice beam at him and managed to freeze his bike.

However, Johnny used his powers to melt the ice and soon flew fast in the air as he tried to attack the ghost boy, who dodged it.

"My engine's got more power than you, punk. Keep up if you can, you dweeb!..."Johnny said in an obnoxious way as he used his bike to avoid the blasts.

Danny rolled his eyes at what he just said.

"Times like this. He's almost like a ghost version of Dash..."He muttered in annoyance before he kept firing ecto and ice blasts at the biker ghost and his shadow minion.

The fight continued for about five more minutes before things our heroes got the upper hand again.

Johnny and his shadow were the first ones to be captured when Danny managed to trap the shadow into his Fenton Thermos by tricking into following him into a convenience store, where Danny managed to stun it by using a big flashlight that he managed to find to distract the evil shadow ghost. He then managed to use his thermos to capture it while it was dazed, leaving the biker ghost defenseless and easily captured not long afterwards.

Spectra saw this and groaned as she turned to Kitty.

"Seriously, Kitty? Why are you STILL holding onto that idiot?! You know that you can do so much better..."Spectra said, while the green haired ghoul glared at her.

"Shut up! At least Johnny's a way cuter boyfriend than that little troll you spend all your time with!..."Kitty shot back.

"Bertrand is NOT my boyfriend! He's my assistant and we all know I am way out of his league!..."Spectra said arrogantly, while the ghost boy heard this and rolled his eyes.

"I've actually seen what you really look like underneath all that ghostly plastic surgery and honestly, I say you both seem perfect for each other..."Danny said in an insulting tone, making Spectra growl.

"As if! A ghoul with my looks only deserves the finest man!..."Spectra said, before turning to Star and smirked. "Speaking of which, Blondie... how is your good-looking dad doing? I heard that he's also single again, is that true?..." The ghoul said in an interested tone, making the blonde girl shudder and become angry again.

"DREAM ON, YOU HAG! He's already dating a woman who is already WAY better than you in everything that matters and is actually pretty and has a good personality on top of that, both of which you don't have!..."Star said, while Spectra frowned.

"Someone's daddy issues are showing..."The evil ghoul said. "Afraid he'll abandon you like your mommy did..."She said cruelly, trying to hurt her but Star wouldn't be tricked by her again.

"I don't have daddy issues and my dad would never abandon me. I just know for a fact that he deserves WAY better than a pathetic, miserable, washed-up quack of a psychologist who uses other people way younger than herself for her own benefit like some kind of vampire!..."Star said, angering the ghoul.

"Calling her a vampire is an insult to vampires everywhere, even Dracula. For all we know, monster or not, he's probably way more pleasant to be around than some old, bitter, sadistic ghoul who has to steal youth and beauty to hide what a hag she really is inside..."Danny quipped, striking a nerve in the dark ghoul who growled.

"That's it! I have had enough of you, you little brats!..."Spectra said, enraged.

However, she didn't realize that her anger distracted her, and Danny used this opportunity to gain the upper hand in this fight. He used his ice powers to send ice daggers at Spectra, while Star used her saber to attack Kitty while she had been distracted by worrying about her friend.

"I guess this "double date" is over now..."Danny said, as he used his thermos and pressed a certain button.

Spectra and Kitty were soon trapped inside the thermos, along with a disappointed Johnny and his frustrated looking Shadow.

"Finally. Good riddance ..."Danny said.

"This is so not how I wanted to start our Colette-free weekend..."Star said.

"Don't worry, Starlight. These jerks are gone, and we can get back to the movie before the previews end..."Danny said, as he carried Star bridal style flying back to the theater.

Both were unaware of another blonde that both teens are know very well was up to her own plans, even at this very moment.

Meanwhile

At the country

Stella Bevier was currently at a meeting with the club president and her best friend, Eleanor Wellington.

A woman who unfortunately, had a sprained wrist right now.

"Oh, Eleanor, this is awful!..."Stella said, concerned. "How did this even happen?..."She asked, worried about her friend.

"It was my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going, and I tripped. Plus, my golf swing isn't what it used to be back during in my prime..."Eleanor said, as she looked at her wrist that was currently bandaged.

Present Time

"Wait...what does your mom and Eleanor have to do with any of this?..."Val asked.

"Oh, right. Eleanor and my mom filled me in with all the details when I asked. It's relevant, I promise..."Star said.

"Just go with it, they tend to go on a lot of tangents..." Sam said.

"We do not! At least not on purpose. Sometimes stuff like this just happens and we don't have any control over it..." Star said.

"Moving on..."Danny said as he continued the tale.

Back to the story

"This is what I get for thinking I can break my old record of holes in one. I suppose my pro years are behind me now..."Eleanor said bitterly to herself, while her friend tried to cheer her up.

"Oh, don't belittle yourself. These things happen..."Stella said to her friend, more concerned with her wellbeing than anything.

"I know Stella. Still, now this means I won't be able to compete in the tennis tournament with you this year..."Eleanor said, looking upset about that.

Stella sighed.

Every year, the country club does a tennis tournament for charity and all the profits would go to whatever charity they were supporting that year. This year, the profits would have gone to help restoring North Mercy hospital and making sure that it was up to date with all the upgrades, supplies and equipment that a hospital needs.

Before she moved to Paris, Eleanor and Stella had always competed together and had won the tournament 7 years in a row. This was supposed to be their first tournament together since she moved back and now this happens!

Still the blonde woman knew it wasn't her friend's fault and she didn't want her to feel bad.

"Oh, don't worry. I'll...just find another partner to compete with..."Stella said, trying to be optimistic as she tried to think of someone.

"Now...who do we know who could be my new tennis partner at the last minute?..."Stella asked, thinking out loud.

"Why not ask Pamela Manson?..."Eleanor said.

There was a silence for a woman, before both women burst out laughing loud enough that it nearly brought tears.

"Ohohoho! Good one, Eleanor. For a moment, I almost thought you were serious..."Stella said, still laughing.

"Yes, I know! Can imagine Pamela Manson doing something for charity...or anything that could risk her breaking a nail?..."Eleanor said, still laughing before becoming serious again.

"Maybe she would do that for a chance to be back in the club and join the Golden Guild but I wouldn't make that offer even if she were the best tennis player in the world..."Eleanor thought, before she became serious again.

"Anyway, there has to be someone. Why not ask Helen?..."The country club president suggested, since Helen was an acquaintance of theirs and a fellow socialite.

"No. She's going to be in Spain this week, visiting her fiancé and his family..."Stella reminded.

"Oh, right..."Eleanor said, as she tried to brainstorm.

"What about Ursula?..."She suggested, since she was another member of the board and the wife of owner of the local mall.

"She's still recovering from her "head cold" a.k.a. the face lift..."Stella said, since everyone knew about it and it was no secret.

"Marjorie?..."Eleanor tried, since her family donated a lot to charity too and she figured she'd be willing to do this for a good cause.

"She has an ACTUAL head cold..."Stella said, with a frustrated look.

"Mildred?..."Eleanor tried again, as she was another acquaintance of theirs who was also well-known in high society.

"At a family wedding in Canada..."Stella said, with a frustrated sigh.

"Why not Evelyn?..."Eleanor suggested, since she was another member of the Golden Guild.

"Her husband is hosting a fashion show in Paris this week and she is one of the models in the show..."Stella said, sighing.

"Virginia?..."Eleanor suggested and Stella glared at her.

"Get real!..."Stella refused, since that woman was more of a rival and an acquaintance who she reluctantly deals with in high society than a friend and even Stella has limits with how charitable she can be.

Eleanor sighed.

"What about that husband of yours? If you insist on being married to that guy, why not make him do something useful?..."Eleanor said, while her friend sighed in frustration.

"Jean Luc is going out of town on a business trip and he took Colette with him. Not to mention he's not exactly what I'd call a champion when it comes to this sport..."Stella said.

"What about that ex-husband of yours? Johnathan?..."Eleanor suggested and Stella seemed surprised.

"Johnathan?..."Stella questioned.

"He used to help you a lot with the country club charity events when you both were still together and even if you guys are split, I'm sure he'd be willing to help if you told him that it was for a good cause..."Eleanor suggested but her friend was quiet.

Stella briefly thought about the idea of competing with Johanthan and imagined them playing tennis together...and suddenly recalled how dashing he looked in tennis shorts.

Stella blushed slightly, before she snapped out of it and turned her head to face her friend before Eleanor noticed anything.

"Stella?..."Eleanor asked.

"Oh...uh...Johanthan is always busy with work. I don't think...he'll have the time..."Stella said, feeling awkward as she tried hard not to think about what she just imagined.

"What about your older brother or your sisters. I'm sure they would be willing to fly out here if they knew it was for a good cause..."Eleanor tried.

"Liam is the head of a billion-dollar company and can't exactly drop anything at the top of the hat. Jocelyn is pregnant and can't do anything strenuous. Chasity is going to be busy at some charity function (ironically) with George in the Carribean and won't be back in the States for another week and Genevieve is already doing a photo shoot in Hawaii and her schedule is pretty much book for this entire month..."Stella explained, while her friend sighed.

"I'm all out of ideas, Stella..."The country club president said, but her friend refused to give up.

"There has got to be someone. I mean...I consider myself a good tennis player, but I can't compete alone. Not in a doubles tournament anyways..."Stella said, as she tried to think of a potential tennis partner.

"The tournament is this Monday, so we don't have any time to waste. Now let's think. Who do we know is an athletic, a good tennis player and is willing to help us at the last minute for a good cause?..."She tried to consider.

She and Eleanor tried to think, but their thought process was interrupted when they heard some havoc outside.

"Oh, what now? Don't tell me those ghost birds are back!..."Eleanor said, as she went to see what was causing a disturbance.

However, they looked outside the window and soon saw that it was Jack and Maddie riding their RV, chasing after a ghost who had an unusual obsession with boxes.

"You cannot capture me, for I am the box ghost!..."The Box ghost said dramatically.

"Eat high temperature plasma, ghost scum!..."Maddie said as she pulled out the Jack-o-nine-tails.

She then jumped out of the RV, flipping over a truck and whacking the ghost with a series of strikes to the face and chest, before landing gracefully before she pulled out her thermos and captured the ghost.

"HA! Got him!..."Maddie said proudly.

"Man, that's hot!..."Jack said, as his wife rejoined him in the RV and they left.

Stella and Eleanor were amazed and at awe at the Maddie Fenton's impressive athletic prowess as she easily dealt with the pesky ghost.

"Those two. They might be a bit rambunctious, but certainly get the job done..."Eleanor said in amusement, while Stella got an idea.

"That's it, we'll ask Maddie!..."Stella said, looking pleased with the idea while her friend sent her a look.

"Maddie?..."Eleanor questioned.

"Yes, why didn't I think of it sooner? Maddie would make a perfect tennis partner!..."Stella said, looking proud of herself for thinking of the idea.

"You sure Maddie would want to join the tennis tournament?..."Eleanor said, being skeptical since she never mentioned any interest in the sport.

"You saw Maddie just now. She's so athletic and fit. With her on my team, we'll win the competition for sure and be able to raise a lot for North Mercy hospital. It's brilliant! We'll be unstoppable!..."Stella said, already imagining a victory.

Eleanor had some concerns but couldn't deny that with Maddie natural born athletic talents on their side, the odds of helping North Mercy Hospital gaining new supplies, equipment and funding were very good if she helps them. It was a win for everyone.

"Besides, she is the mother of my future son-in-law, so this could be a good chance for us to bond some more..."Stella said happily, seeing this as a chance to kill two birds with one stone.

"Danny and Star haven't even been dating for a year yet and they are still young..."Eleanor reminded.

"You know what I mean. They're adorable together and I know Maddie will be gun-ho about charity. It'll be perfect. We'll be able to win enough for the hospital in no time. Not to mention I'm sure she'll like the idea of an early start of family in-laws bonding over sport games for charity..."Stella said, determined, while Eleanor sighed at her antics.

Since they had no other options, the country club president decided that it wouldn't hurt to ask Maddie Fenton for her to join their team as a substitute player in the upcoming tennis tournament. After all, the worst she could do was say no.

"Well, I see no harm in asking her. It wouldn't hurt to at least try..."Eleanor said as the Fentons had already left.

"That's the spirit! Now you just focus on your recovery, Eleanor. Me, and Maddie will bring another trophy for sure..."Stella said, before getting a look from her friend. "And raise a lot for the hospital too, that goes without saying..."Stella quickly added.

"Let's just hope that Maddie is willing to handle Stella's antics for charity at least..."Eleanor thought to herself, as her friend could get very "enthusiastic" about winning.

Present Time

"So...your mom wanted Danny's mom to be her partner for some charity tennis match?..."Val asked.

"Charity tournament but yeah..."Star said, slightly embarrassed over her mother's antics.

"Mom had a lot to say..."Jazz said, recalling all of her mother's rants about that same tennis tournament.

"I won't say what the woman formerly known as my mother had to say about being looked over for..."Sam said, darkly, wanting to forget all the complaining she heard from her mother loudly talking about said tennis tournament.

There was an awkward silence, before the half ghost superpowered teen spoke up.

"As we were saying, things might have been started to look a little bit weird for certain people in the human world. But it was nothing compared to what was happening in the Ghost Zone around that time..."Danny said, as he continued telling the story.

In the ghost zone

The Observants were in the realm, in the middle of their usual business of observing everything in the universe to maintain the balance of reality and all that exists within the universe.

"Any new business?..."The head observant said.

"None that hasn't already been foreseen, Sir..."One of his followers said.

"New business, natural portals have just opened on the eye of Jupiter and are bringing the storm to the center of Antarctica..."Another observant said, while the second in command waved it off.

"The portal will close naturally in exactly 37.9 seconds, and there are with no witnesses and life in that area for miles. No need for concern..."The second in command said.

"Now, more new business?..."The head observant requested, knowing that the universe never stops moving and is always changing as time continues to move forward.

However, their meeting will soon get an unwanted guest and they knew that. As if on queue, another observant entered the room, looking annoyed about something.

"Sir, we have a visitor..."A subordinate said, and his boss knew whom he was talking about.

"Let Walker in. I was expecting him by now..."The head observant said.

"He's actually a minute late..."Another observant commented but was ignored.

The other one nodded and let the ghostly warden in.

"Hello, observant council. I'm sorry to disturb you, your excellencies..."Walker greeted, not actually sorry but feigning politeness to get what he wanted from the one-eyed bureaucrat ghosts.

"Walker, what are you doing here? You know that we are very busy with our duties..."The head observant said, acting like he didn't already know why he was here.

"I apologize for the intrusion, Sir. But I have urgent news to present to this esteemed council. I'm fully aware that you are all very busy, so I'll try to make this sudden meeting of ours as brief as possible..."Walker continued with fake politeness, believing it'd be worth it in the end.

"Just get on with it..."The second-in-command said, sounding impatient.

"Yes, well...it's about that punk-...I mean...that half ghost boy, Danny Phantom..."Walker began, getting the council's attention.

"What about that Daniel Phantom? You're not here in some vain attempt to gain permission to antagonize that half ghost half human child again, are you?..."The head observant asked.

"Yes, actually I am. Since new evidence has come to light ..."Walker said, as he began his plan.

"Proceed..."The head observant ordered, wanting to get on with this.

Walker grinned internally, as he began to explain the reason why he was here and even presented the old rule book he found.

A few minutes later

Walker was nearly done speaking to his bosses about the reason for him being here and the request he wanted to make.

"And that's why I believe that we need to take this course of action, as per the first edition of the rules from the first warden of the ghost zone. It's right over here..."The warden ghost said, trying to sound professional as he tried to sound convincing to his bosses as he showed them the page he found.

Once Walker was done with his speech, he awaited for their response

.

'So...what do you think?..."The warden asked, hoping that they would grant him his request.

The head observant was silent for a moment, before he responded.

"Very well..."Was all he said.

"Really?..."Walker asked, sounding hopeful.

"If you can prove to us that this Danny Phantom truly is a threat and worthy of our notice...then we will grant your request of removing him from the list..."The head observant said, looking Walker in the eye.

"Finally! Justice!..."Walker thought, happy to have passed the first big hurdle of his plan.

"However...if it is proven to be false and you just wasted all our time, you know what will happen to you, Walker? Right?..."The head observant said in a warning.

Walker wasn't concerned though.

"Don't worry. I know that punk is trouble and deserved to be locked up forever in my jail. I'll prove it and he'll get what he deserves..."Walker said, fully ready to settle the score between them.

"We'll see and remember that you have to follow the ENTIRE process if you want any chance of convincing us..."Another observant said.

"I promise that I will follow every single rule in this book!..."Walker said with a grin, while raising his right hand as if to make an oath.

"Very well. Now go. As I said, we are very busy and in the grand scheme of the universe, Danny phantom is but one part..."The head observant said, shooing him out.

Walker soon left, a malicious grin on his face as he fled from his bosses, looking thrilled.

"This is too easy. That punk is practically locked up by this point. Now all I gotta do it get ready...and find who will serve as my jury..."He thought, already having an idea on who to recruit in order to guarantee the recapture of the punk.

And the ghost warden knew just who to start with.
