Mew's Adventure 16
Reverse Mountain and the Island Whale!
Or
Mew wonders if Whale tastes like chicken
AN: Hello all you lovely people! Mew! That Mew says hello to as well. Anyways I present the newest chapter. Please do the liking, and the reviewing, and the other things like the Pay Treeing or whatever.
Despite the heavy rain and the ferocious wind, Mew was hanging by its tail on a spur of the main mast. Below it the crew had rolled a barrel into the middle of the deck as they proclaimed their dreams. Pirate King, greatest swordsman, map of the world, All Blue, to become a great warrior of the seas.
"Mew, what's your dream?"
Mew tilted its head to glance down at Luffy as he shouted. A wide grin on his face. Uncurling its tail, Mew floated down to the barrel where everyone was gathered and placed its foot on the rim.
"Mew, mew!"
"Mew says its dream is adventure and to help everyone else achieve their dreams."
"I feel like I should be worried that I'm starting to understand Mew without you translating, Luffy." Nami said as she stared at Mew. Zoro nodded in agreement from where he was standing next to Luffy.
Gin then brought his foot up onto the barrel.
"My dream is to keep all of you somewhat grounded in reality. Which starts by telling you we don't have anyone at the till and are about to crash into the entrance to Reverse Mountain!"
Mew flew about in a circle as everyone frantically scrambled back to their positions. Even then Luffy had to use his Gum-Gum Balloon to keep them from crashing into the rocky wall of the gravity and physics defying waterfall. Mew had to grab Luffy with Psychic before he could fall into the water.
"Shihihihi, that was close. Thanks Mew!"
Nami, followed by Sanji who was still carrying the Magikarp in his arms, walked over to where Luffy had landed. Mew, having saved Luffy, flew off back to the main mast. Nami grabbed the railing before leaning out over the side of the ship to peer closer at the water.
"It seems to act just like water should, except for the fact that it's flowing uphill. Oh I get it, the sea currents! When the currents from all four seas converge at the mountain, the waters rush up the canals to collide at the top!"
"Nami! You're wonderful!~"
"Karp! Karp! Karp!"
"Sanji, I think that fish wants you to throw it into the water now."
At Nami's comment Sanji looked down at the wriggling Magikarp. The Pokemon turned to look at him with puppy dog eyes that even puppies would be envious of.
"Alright. If you're sure."
"Karp!"
Shrugging, Sanji gently dumped the Pokemon over the side into the water with a soft splash and it disappeared. Seconds later it leapt out of the water, scales, fins, and water droplets all catching the light in a way that made it shine. A truly beautiful image, a work of art never to be captured outside of this very moment.
"Goodbye my love!" Tiny hearts drifted off of Sanji as he waved a white silk handkerchief in the Magikarps direction. Mew floated over to sniff inquisitively at the hearts.
Diving back into the water the Magikarp waves one fin in farewell as it determinedly swims forward. Sanji waved, the Magikarp waved, the Going Merry floated past the Magikarp despite the Pokemon's best efforts.
"Knock it off shitty cook, it's just a fish."
"Mosshead! You dare insult the honor of a lady?!"
Sanji shot across the deck and slammed a kick into Zoro's crossed swords. Gin shook his head before joining Nami at the till. Usopp sat down cross legged on the upper deck to play with his sniper goggles.
The crew and Merry suddenly found themselves briefly airborne as they crested the top of the falls and then crashed downwards into the current that would take them into the Grand Line.
The swiftness of the current along with gravity had Merry entering into a dense bank of clouds. The crew was talking about some strange noise or something but Mew wasn't paying attention. Too busy using Psychic to bring itself a knife from the kitchen.
Knife in its paws, Mew flew down to the main deck and hovered right in front of Usopp and Sanji. Usopp was peering through the clouds at something in their path so didn't react. Sanji however leaned towards Mew with a raised swirly eyebrow.
"Is that one of my knives?"
Mew nodded as it started to cut a doughnut out of the cloud.
"How… you know what just make sure to put it back."
Mew popped the cloud doughnut into its mouth then handed Sanji the knife. Shaking his head in exasperation, Sanji tucked the knife just as Merry burst out of the bank of clouds.
"Holy shit is that a whale?!"
"We're gonna crash!"
Nami and Usopp shouted as everyone caught sight of the massive whale that they were set to collide with in less than a minute.
Mew scampered forward up onto the figurehead where Luffy was crouched. Mew opened its mouth, a tiny ball of energy forming between its jaws as Mew charged up a Hyper Beam.
"Shit! Wait!" Just before Mew fired, Gun grabbed the back of its head and jerked it upwards. A blinding beam of pure energy shot outwards from Mew's mouth, cleaving through sky and clouds as it vanished out of sight.
Laboon's eyes bulged and its jaw dropped open just in time for the Going Merry to sail peacefully into his mouth.
Enel was having an excellent night. No one had dared to defy his edicts today, and the work on the vessel that would take him to Fairy Vearth was nearing completion. Once it was done he would eliminate all the eyesores that infested the lands below him.
Light started to fill the sky but it was far too early for the sun to come up. At the same time his Mantra wasn't registering an attack either. He turned towards where the light was coming and then knew only pain.
"So we went into the mouth of a giant whale." Gin said slowly as he looked around.
"Uhuh." Usopp replied
"And we're sure it swallowed us."
"Yep." Nami replied with a pop of the P.
"Alright. Alright. So could someone explain to me just one little thing.
How the hell did we get outside!?"
"That is a good question. Any idea Mew?" The crew turned to look at Mew, only to find it wrestling a gigantic squid monster that had burst out of the water. Some stray droplets spraying across the deck, sizzling when they struck wood.
"The sea appears to be acidic, if not actually acid." Zoro commented.
"Oooohhh, we're inside the whale's stomach." Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Gin replied as they smack their fist against their open palm.
Mew opened its mouth wide, teeth crackling with electricity just before it bit down with Thunder Fang. The squid creature stopped moving as it went completely limp. Though whether that was because of the damage that Mew had caused or the giant harpoon that now impaled it that had been launched from inside the nearby house was up for debate.
A man that looked like a flower stepped out from inside of the house. He didn't say anything as he began to drag the squid towards his house and island.
Mew stared…
The man stared…
And stared…
And stared…
And stared…
And stared…
And stared…
And stared…
And stared…
And stared…
"Will you two knock it off with the artificial word count inflation!"
Both the man and Mew turned towards Nami with dejected expressions.
"Alright, alright Lassy I'll stop." The man flopped down onto a lawn chair and opened the paper.
"Don't just ignore us!"
