"Are you done?", Mary asked, snapping Masumi out of her daydreaming.

She blinked before glancing at her bag as she said, "Almost, only a few things left to pack.".

"Then hurry, we don't want to miss the plane.", Mary said coldly, "We still have to investigate when we reach Japan about where Edogawa Conan lives, and plan how you will get close to him.".

Masumi rolled her eyes. She understood why her mother was stressed and, in a hurry, considering that she was shrunk by some drug into a middle-aged girl, but who or what had done that, Mary refused to tell her.

And then they saw Edogawa Conan calling himself Holmes' Apprentice in the tennis match, and she and Mary instantly recalled when they met his real self; Kudou Shinichi, 10 years ago.

It had Masumi daydream about that day, recalling the time she got to spent with Shinichi and Mouri Ran, even if it was for a short time, and it made her smile, as those two were technically her first friends, and she couldn't wait to meet them.

Masumi then frowned as she recalled that Japan was the country her eldest brother; Akai Shuichi, had died in. The FBI had sent her and her mother his stuff, but Masumi refused to believe he was dead, she had a feeling something was wrong, and she was willing to investigate his death once she arrives in Japan, not just try to get the antidote for her mother.

'He's not dead, I know it…', Masumi thought determinedly before a fierce confident smirk appeared on her face, 'I'll find him…'.

Rei closed his eyes as he strummed on the guitar a lullaby, Haro resting on his lap, snoring slightly as he slept. He then opened his eyes and looked at the photo placed on the bedside table; the last photo of him and his friends during graduation of the Police Academy; Date Wataru, Matsuda Jinpei, Hagiwara Kenji, and Morofushi Hiromitsu.

They were all dead now, and he was the only one left, and Rei believed he was cursed. He found himself in dangerous situations often, but he would not die, but other people do, so he distanced himself from everyone, keeping everyone as acquaintances and connections, but he had no one important in his life.

Rei frowned once he saw his phone ringing on the bedside table, he placed the guitar on his bed before he grabbed his phone and answered, "What is it?".

"I hope I didn't interrupt your time.", Vermouth said with a laugh.

"No, you didn't, thanks for caring though.", Rei rolled his eyes at her sarcasm, "You are in a good mood, though.".

"Why shouldn't I be when I succeeded in killing MI6 Agent Mary Sera?", She said before she relayed the events to Rei in details, who listened silently.

"I'm still impressed with how she caught me off guard though. She probably knew that we know she had two sons, so she decided to mention her daughter.", Vermouth said.

"Daughter?", Rei repeated, finding the new information interesting.

"She said Tsutomu disappeared when she was still pregnant with the girl, so she's 18 now.", Vermouth explained, "What was her name…. Ah, Masumi.".

'Akai Masumi…', Rei thought.

"I won't be surprised if the girl disappeared from Britain to remain safe or reached out to her second brother here in Japan. We've killed three of the Akai family-".

"Are you sure?", Rei interrupted, "I can't speak about Tsutomu since Rum hasn't told any member enough information, but Mary fell in the river, and you didn't see her dead body, and Akai-".

"Try to tell Gin that Akai is still alive and see what happens.", Vermouth interrupted dryly.

'When I want to die…', Rei rolled his eyes.

"I'm sure you didn't call me though just to brag about your successful mission.", Rei said.

"No. Anokata has finally decided for you to become a field agent like Kir, find a civilian identity and job for that, and he seems to be worried about Akai too, so his first mission for you as a field agent is to investigate his death, make sure he is dead.", Vermouth said.

"I'll do so.", Rei nodded.

"Good luck then, Bourbon.", Vermouth said in English before she ended the call.

Rei placed his phone aside before smirking, him being assigned as a field agent like Kir alongside investigating the death of someone like Akai Shuichi, means that the boss of the Organization is starting to trust him even more, and that was great, for the deeper he got in the Organization, the greater the information the NPA SB.

'He's not dead, I know it…', Rei thought determinedly before a cold hateful look appeared on his face, 'I'll find him…'.
