Allearth Forest (Day)
"Yeah, I expected this." a young Trainer said as he stood over the pit that Yveltal had rested in for thousands of years.
The boy had blonde and green eyes. He wore a red snow jacket and bulky pants to shield him from the cold weather, as well as cleated shoes that made walking in snow easier. On his hands were gloves with a flame pattern stitched onto them.
He was staring into the still, yet not frozen, water in the lake below. 'Likely remaining somewhat warm as a result of being saturated in Yveltal's Dark Aura.' the boy theorized, writing his findings in a small notepad. Once he was done, he closed the pad and brought out a Poké Ball. Tossing it, he released a Charizard and got on its back, riding the Flame Pokémon into the pit.
Understandably, Charizard didn't feel comfortable in the damp cave. The lingering Dark Aura Yveltal left behind sent a chill down its spine. Even still, it followed its Trainer deeper into the cavern.
"So, according to what Professor Sycamore told me, this place is where Yveltal returns to when its life comes to an end." the boy said, walking through the darkness. "Gotta say, it definitely makes sense to use a place like this as a secret retreat. Secluded, quiet, and far away from any human settlements."
He could picture the Legendary Pokémon, fatigued, swooping down above the still lake and transforming into a cocoon. All while decay and pestilence followed in its wake.
Hearing a crystalline cry, he looked around for any sign of life in the cave. "Charizard, I need some light." the Trainer said. The Flame Pokémon shot a harmless fireball forward, illuminating the path ahead. There, laying on its side, was an injured Carbink. "What in-?" Before he even realized what he was doing, the boy ran to the Pokémon's side and got a Full Restore out of his Bag. 'What's a Carbink doing here? And all alone, no less?'
Carbink were Pokémon that lived in colonies. It was rare to find a solitary one, even in areas where they were scarce. To see one on its own in any circumstance was considered extremely odd.
While he was trying to figure out this mystery, the boy felt something goopy on his hand as he examined Carbink. Turning the wild Pokémon around, he saw a blotch of a black substance that stuck to Carbink's stone body. "This might hurt a bit." he told the small Pokémon. Taking a deep breath, he grabbed hold of the black goo and pulled as hard as he could. After two minutes, he finally managed to rip Carbink from the substance.
The Jewel Pokémon seemed a bit dazed for a bit before it regained its bearings, looking at its surroundings before deciding to leave the cave.
"Okay, now what do we do with this?" the Trainer asked his partner, looking down at the goo in his hand. He couldn't describe it, but the feeling of it on his skin was...wrong. "See if you can't get rid of it with Shadow Claw."
Suddenly, the goo began to bubble and expand rapidly. In an instant, both Charizard and its Trainer were engulfed. After a few seconds, the goo vanished into thin air, taking the duo with it.
Musutafu (Day)
'Note to self: Wear hazmat suit next time I handle possibly dangerous substances.' the boy told himself as he laid on his back. On the bright side, he no longer had the goop on his hand.
On the other hand, he had no idea where he was.
Brushing dust off his outfit, the boy stood up and surveyed his surroundings. He was currently on the roof of a 30-story high building smack dab in what looked like a large city. "Now this is interesting." he said to himself. Turning around, he saw his Charizard, mildly bruised, standing behind him. "Very interesting indeed."
After administering first aid to his partner, the Trainer got on Charizard's back and took to the skies. In no time at all, they were far enough in the air that nobody on the ground could see them. They looked for anything even remotely familiar, but the geography was completely new.
"Well, we're not in Kalos, that's for sure." the boy said, grimacing. His eye then caught a train station in the middle of the city. Or, more accurately, he noticed the giant man wreaking havoc on it. "Oh, that's not good. Charizard, descend!" Nodding in understanding, the Pokémon dove towards the ground.
The giant clearly wasn't a Pokémon. If it was, it'd be all over the news like the Red Gyarados from almost 30 years ago. This was something else, and Charizard wanted to fight it.
"Blast Burn!" the Trainer shouted with a wide grin. His Pokémon's mouth filled with flames before it unleashed a stream of fire that detonated on contact with the giant's body. With that single attack, it went down and shrank down to the size of a normal human. "Okay, that's weird."
Almost immediately, a man in wooden armor arrived at the train station and bound the former giant in large winding branches. Once that was done, the armored man looked up to the Trainer and Charizard. "You! Come down here at once!"
'Looks like taking down the big one put a target on our backs.' the boy realized. "Charizard, now!" The Flame Pokémon cloaked itself in fire before shooting into the sky, vanishing from sight.
