Chapter 19
Too Much Is Not Enough
Rushing towards the pyramid, I looked at the sky noticing that the Blood Moon had strangely disappeared. Passing by a strange statue, I noticed that it vaguely resembled Giganto. As my speed increased, I passed by statues resembling Wyvern, Knight and Supreme. I also saw strange pink, red and yellow structures as if they were specifically designed for Amy, Knuckles and Tails. Entering the inside of the pyramid, I felt a strange dizzying sensation from the white Chaos Emerald. Taking out the purple emerald, I then said, "Of course! That's why I've been warping to strange places. I've been using Chaos Control this whole time!". Laughing, I then wondered why I had been activating Chaos Control if I didn't consciously remember doing so. Putting the purple emerald back in my robes, I then reached out for the white emerald only to be strangely repelled. "Wait, what?", I asked. "The emerald is rejecting you because you haven't awakened yet.", Alvis said. "And how do I do that?", I asked. "That's something that you'll have to figure out for yourself.", Alvis said.
Walking out of the Chaos Emerald Vault, I then spotted a woman in the distance. She had long teal hair and purple eyes and was wearing a black sailor outfit with long black stockings. I walked over to her, unable to shake the odd feeling that I knew her from somewhere. Wondering why this was, I then saw the woman's eyes light up causing her to rush over to me. She then proceeded to hug me tightly, saying, "You've returned to me. I am glad for that.". "Wait, do I know you?", I asked. "You do, my love. My name is Brynhild, a Valkyrie of Odin.", the woman said. She then looked into my eyes deeply. "Wait, you are him, aren't you?", Brynhild asked. "Who are you talking about?", I asked. "It doesn't matter. But it is strange. I could have sworn you were him.", Brynhild said before she walked off. "Strange.", I thought. Looking at the purple emerald again, I then wondered why the white emerald had repelled me but not the purple one. "Incidentally, where did you get the purple emerald from?", Sage asked. "Well, I got it from a strange shrine off the coast of Ouranos Island. It was being guarded by this strange liquid being that looked a lot like Chaos, the God of Destruction.", I said. "And did it tell you anything?", Sage asked. "Only to keep the emerald safe from YHVH no matter the cost.", I said. As a strange look of fear appeared on Sage's face, I asked, "Hey, are you OK?". "Actually, there's something I need to look into.", Sage said before she disappeared.
Noticing that night had fallen, I decided to take the opportunity to rest. Putting the emerald back in my robes, I wondered why I had been chosen out of virtually anyone else in Aionios to keep the purple emerald safe. As I sat, I then noticed that the sky had brightened quite drastically. "Wait, something's not right.", I thought. Noticing a strange knight, I walked over to him wondering if he had something to do with the strangely brightened sky. He had short wavy blonde hair and aqua eyes and was wearing a suit of silver armour with floral patterns and a dark blue jumpsuit underneath. In his hand was a sword radiating solar power, enough to burn the very sky itself. Surrounding him was a nauseously bright aura. Upon looking at me, he then said, "So you have returned. Yet you have not properly awakened.". "I'm sorry but I don't know who you are.", I said. "Oh, that simply won't do. Regardless, I am Sir Gawain of the Knights of the Round Table. My sword is Galatine.", the knight said. Summoning Zantetsuken to my right hand, I said, "Well, bub, you're in for a rude awakening.". "I think you have that backwards but still, give me a good fight.", Gawain said before rushing at me.
Dodging Gawain's attack, I fired a blast of darkness that the knight easily parried. Undeterred, I rushed at him whilst unleashing a very furious onslaught of slashes that Gawain easily struggled to keep up with. Unleashing a fiery burst of mana, Gawain then unleashed a brutal slash that I parried and followed up with a very expertly timed counter. "How are you-?", Gawain asked. "It's simple, really. This is the power of Zantetsuken, the sword of the Eikon of Darkness.", I said before unleashing a very fast series of slashes that Gawain just managed to keep up with. Stabbing Galatine into the ground, Gawain then unleashed a radiant burst of mana that prompted me to do the same, unleashing a burst of darkness. "Impossible!", Gawain said, incredulous. "Oh, it is very possible.", I said before I unleashed a giant ball of darkness. Dodging, Gawain then said, "Well, you are evidently very skilled. But it will not be enough to stop the Multiverse's destruction.", before he vanished, causing night to return. Dismissing Zantetsuken, I then felt a strange sensation in my body. As the energy surged, I saw a large amount of black and dark red energy seeping out of my right arm only for it to suddenly disappear. "Huh.", I said to myself before heading back into the pyramid.
Leaving the pyramid the next day, I noticed that there were strange patterns in the sky. Not only that, but I also a strange chasm much like the one near Hogwarts. Seeing a sinister black and red goop around the rim, I moved closer only to hear Neptune say, "No! Not one more step!". Turning around to face her, I saw that she was wearing a black and dark red dress with an opening to show off her cleavage. "What do you mean, Neptune?", I asked. "You know what Gloom does to people. It weakens and hurts them. Now, I know you might be immune but it's really not a risk worth taking. Trust me.", Neptune said. Looking into her eyes, I saw that Neptune's eyes looked quite sad and despondent. It also seemed like she was crying. "Anyway, what do you mean about me being immune to the Gloom?", I asked. "Oh, that reminds me, I've got something to take care of.", Neptune said before she ran off. Wondering why she was acting so strangely, I took another look at the chasm only to see that the Gloom surrounding it looked very familiar to me for something. "First that forest, now this chasm. Something's wrong.", I thought.
Taking out the purple Chaos Emerald, I then said, "Chaos Control!", finding myself in the chamber of a castle. Sleeping in one of the beds was a girl with pink hair, red eyes and pointed ears wearing a salmon-pink onesie and a salmon-pink hat vaguely designed to resemble cat ears. Suddenly, she woke up, her face lighting up when she saw my face. "Let me guess, you're a Fairy Knight?", I asked. "That's right! My name is Fairy Knight Habetrot, one of the chosen four Knights of Destruction.", the girl said. She then rushed up to me and hugged me, causing me to notice that she actually seemed to have had quite the growth spurt causing her to match my height much like with Shinoa. As I let what Habetrot say about her being a Knight of Destruction sink in, I then said, "Wait, what did you say about being a Knight of Destruction?". "Oh, you didn't know? Well, when Aionios was formed, many people tried their very best to preserve an unnaturally formed world including those horrible Consuls. In order to oppose them, the position of the Knights of Destruction was formed to spit on their beloved Endless Now and promptly burn the world so to prepare it for your divine rule.", Morgan said coming in. "But still, Auntie, why did you form the Knights of Destruction in the first place? Surely what Ouroboros was doing would have been enough to end Aionios.", I said. "Well, the Knights of Destruction were formed in order to ensure Aionios's destruction and make sure the world would burn for the destruction that the world's very nature is visiting upon all of reality. You may think of it as a Lostworld unto itself like what I turned the British Lostbelt into, nephew.", Morgan said, ruffling my hair.
Walking out of the chamber, I then found myself in a strange field with six monoliths arranged as per the points of a regular hexagon. As I moved closer, I saw that they were respectively covered by a red, black, blue, yellow, pink and green light. Noticing Vegeta looking at the monoliths, I walked up to him only for Vegeta to then look at me and say, "You know what these monoliths are?". "No, I don't think I do.", I said. "You know who the Power Rangers are?", Vegeta asked. "Yeah, I do.", I said. "And you know who the Knights of the Round Table are?", Vegeta asked. "Yeah.", I said. "Well, these monoliths are to make sure the Knights of the Round Table inherit the legacies of the Rangers in case they are unable to defend the world from evil. But they are currently inactive and are waiting for a true hero to appear.", Vegeta explained. "You mean like the Avengers?", I asked. "Kinda.", Vegeta said before he walked off. Wondering what Vegeta meant by a true hero, I then saw a strange black orb on the ground that I then picked up. Watching as the orb strangely turned into data, I then heard Mash say behind me, "So it seems that you have been chosen by a Legendary Pokemon. I have to say I'm very jealous.". Turning around to face her, I saw that she had beautiful pink hair, much to my confusion. "Wait, I thought you had purple hair.", I said. "Oh, that was Cyber Space enhancing the magical glamour I placed on it. I actually have pink hair, being a Child of the Full Moon.", Mash explained. "Children of the Full Moon?", I asked. "Yeah. People like Estelle and me who have pink hair and can use magic without a catalyst.", Mash said. "A catalyst?", I asked. "Yeah. Unlike you, most mages have to use magic through a catalyst, either a rod, staff, book or crystal. Bearers like you and Rinwell can use magic without a catalyst but even they use catalysts so to avoid suspicion.", Mash said. After a brief and awkward silence, Mash then said, "By the way, you're expected at the coming Sword Demon Tournament. Your presence is entirely mandatory.". "Well I don't know to really get there.", I said. "Oh, you'll find the way.", Mash said before walking off.
Examining the monoliths closely, I then saw a vision of 6 mediaeval Power Rangers, the Red Ranger in particular wielding a sword with a very familiar golden glow. The vision then changed to a large army wielding a large amount of holy and demonic weapons facing what appeared to be me only for the vision to then change to that of a large desert with a walled city in the distance. As the vision faded, I then saw a note in the wind say, "OK, so the venue for the Sword Demon Tournament is in a resplendent arena of gold and is in a time barrier that you can easily breach via using Chaos Control. Come to the arena and prove that you are cruel and ruthless enough to rule us as the Sovereign, Sword Demon.". Seeing a dark purple portal appear, I then saw a young woman with light taupe hair in pigtails and green eyes wearing a white blouse, a yellow sweater vest, a green striped tie, a red plaid skirt and black boots with white buckles walk out the portal. "So, how is it, Maka?", I asked the woman. "Well, the Gloom really is progressing at a very dangerous rate. If it continues, all of the Multiverse will be destroyed and not just Aionios. Also, it seems the other 8 Eikons are also lost to the Gloom. It is actually quite lucky that Odin did not join them.", Maka said. "Wait, did you say 8 Eikons?", I asked. "Yeah. Phoenix, Garuda, Ramuh, Titan, Bahamut, Shiva, Leviathan and Alexander.", Maka said. "I only thought only 8 Eikons were created- Phoenix, Garuda, Ramuh, Titan, Bahamut, Shiva, Odin and Leviathan. Well, that's what the Circle of Malius taught me anyway.", I said. "I wonder why they lied to you. Well, that's of no concern to me. Go have fun in the Sword Demon Tournament.", Maka said, prompting me to walk into the portal myself. I steeled myself for what could be potentially waiting on the other side.
The story continues in the next chapter.
