Vesa, Kirby and Fecto Elfilis followed Susie down the corridor. The tall space rodent cradled in their arm as they peered through a large glass window for a brief moment. Through the window, they observed a display of the history of the company, including many different awards for various achievements; likely from whatever planet Susie and Haltmann originally came from. Elfilis spied a little memorial plaque for her father. Their feelers perked up when they spotted a small fake replica of the Star Dream on the side towards the back.

They stopped at a door for a moment, waiting until it slid open automatically. Susie ushered them into her office and approached her desk. Vesa scanned the room and sat in a nearby chair.

"I didn't prepare more than one chair here, unfortunately," Susie mentioned, "I wasn't expecting more guests. However, feel free to sit in the lobby for now if you want to sit down, or stay if you feel like it. If anyone else has something to speak with me about, you can talk to my secretary and schedule an appointment. If you want, I can talk to you when I go on break in a couple hours. Until then, I'll be speaking to Kirby and conducting a few tests. If you plan to stay for the next few days while I do these tests, then I can have accommodations prepared for you."

Susie sat down at her desk and started to type something out on a computer.

"T-Thank you, ma'am," Vesa blurted.

"It's no problem," Susie replied, her eyes still focused on the computer.

While Kirby stood in the middle of the room, waiting in anticipation, Vesa glanced over her shoulder at Elfilis, who only shrugged in response. The angelic lancer approached her and placed Elfilin onto her lap.

"I'll go wait in the lobby and speak to her secretary, you can come with me if you want," Elfilis told her, "it sounds like we might be here a couple days. If you want, I can drop you off back home and we can stay there for tonight and come back tomorrow morning."

Vesa shook her head.

"I may have been surprised a little," Vesa proclaimed, "but I think I'll stay here, too."

Vesa stood up from the chair, cradling Elfilin in her arms.

"Alright, I will set up an appointment. Just let me know if you need anything."

Vesa nodded before following Elfilis out of the office. She glanced over her shoulder for a brief moment as Kirby waved his arm at her and climbed into the chair. Making their way to the lobby, Elfilis took a number from a ticket machine before they sat down. They noticed nine drones each holding a ticket number, which they found amusing. Vesa sat down next to Elfilis, who glanced over at her in response.

"I'm just waiting to see her secretary now," they told her, "I'll see about booking us a room somewhere on the ship."

Vesa simply nodded as she ran her finger along Elfilin's head. All they could do now was wait as drones got called one by one. Before long, a voice calling Elfilis's number prompted them and Vesa to rise from their seats and approach their desk. The person expecting them appeared to be a busy woman with hair slightly frazzled and a large pair of glasses on her face which seemed like high tech lenses.

"H-Hello," Vesa said.

"H-Hello," the receptionist greeted, "nice to meet you both! just one moment please."

Vesa nodded as the receptionist typed something out on her computer and quickly wrote something on a book on her desk.

"Alright," she proclaimed, taking a moment to adjust her glasses, "what can I do for you?"

Vesa and Elfilis shared a brief glance before returning their gaze on the secretary.

"My partner Elfilis is seeking blueprints of a Galactic Nova," Vesa began.

"Oh yes, I believe Miss Haltmann has already approved the deletion of those files," the secretary replied, "the only remaining copies of the blueprints are physical ones that I was instructed to give to you."

The secretary didn't hesitate as she searched through a filing cabinet. A moment later, she pulled out a massive folder filled with papers.

"This should be the entire set of blueprints for the project."

Vesa gave a puzzled look while Elfilis took the folder.

"How did she know?" Vesa whispered to Elfilis.

Elfilis shrugged while they stashed it into their pocket dimension. They returned their gaze to the secretary.

"I appreciate it," Elfilis told her, "please inform Susie of my gratitude."

"Of course," the secretary agreed, "have a great day."

"Thank you," Elfilis nodded, "you as well."

Elfilis and Vesa turned to leave, meandering through the ship. While the human stayed close behind, the angelic lancer perked up their feelers as they surveyed their surroundings for a possible living area. When they climbed up some stairs leading to a catwalk, Vesa kept Elfilin on one hand and used her other hand to support herself on the stair rails. Elfilis glanced around curiously as they continued venturing through the massive station, occasionally passing through teleporters to cover great distances quickly.

Once they exited the eighth teleporter they came across, Vesa checked the sign on the wall nearby pointing to a hallway for guest rooms. Smiling, Elfilis lifted her into their arms and gave her a kiss on the forehead, their tail swaying happily. Strolling down the hall, the tall space rodent checked each room they passed by. Soon enough, Vesa's eyes locked onto the ninth door to their right and pointed that direction. Elfilis took the hint and tapped on an adjacent panel, the door sliding open for them.

Inside, the room appeared tall enough to provide extra wiggle room for Elfilis's antlers. It had a wall-mounted TV screen, a bathroom near the entrance and a bed farther in. While the tall angelic lancer surveyed the surroundings, they took note of a schedule on the wall which displayed the times breakfast, lunch and dinner were served. A wall-mounted phone and a list of dial numbers sat beneath the schedule. Elfilis set down Vesa. She approached the bed and placed Elfilin onto a pillow. She glanced over her shoulder, gazing into the ultimate life-form's eyes.

"Is it safe to use your teleportation ability in this station?" she asked them, "I might want to grab some clothes back in my room."

"It would take more spatial distortion than this to make travel unsafe for me." Elfilis shrugged, "the teleportation hubs they set up here are safe, from what I can tell."

Elfilis summoned their spear and cut a hole in the air.

"A portal is more stable for long distance travel like this and less tiring," they continued, "they tend to have a fixed range of energy consumption since we're connecting two points in space. The distance is irrelevant in most cases; so depending on where you want to go and how far it is, teleportation and portals can change in what is best for any situation."

The tear in space soon stabilized into a star-shaped portal.

"I can hold it open for at least half an hour," they added as they sat down on the bed.

"Good to know," Vesa nodded.

Vesa didn't hesitate as she jumped through the portal, making a graceful landing in her bedroom back at the tower. She spent a few minutes grabbing a few set of clothes and a comb before she quickly returned to the portal. Upon cue, Elfilis shut the portal behind her. Vesa took some time to sort the sets of clothes she picked out into some drawers. Just then, Elfilin rubbed his eyes as he stirred awake. His larger fragment glanced over the small chinchilla while they reached for a remote on the nightstand, turning on the TV and scrolling through the different channels.

"Uhh," Elfilin blurted, "are we there yet?"

"We arrived half an hour ago," Elfilis told him.

Using their telekinesis, Elfilis levitated Elfilin and placed him on their lap, gently stroking his fur. The small chinchilla glanced up at his larger fragment before scanning his surroundings.

"Where's Kirby?" he asked.

"He's with Susie right now," Elfilis answered, "they're running some tests, to my knowledge. We might be here for a few days, but I'm sure he'll come back here in a few hours."

While Elfilis watched an advertisement showing the different uses for a semi-organic metal alloy, Vesa sat down next to them. The advertisement ended and a show about a heroic Birdon and his adventures began displaying.

Meanwhile, Kirby had been taking a nap while Susie was wrapping up her work on the computer.

"Alright," Susie proclaimed, "test number one."

Susie pulled a deactivated drone out of a wooden crate, the body empty and no AI inhabiting it. By then, Kirby yawned and opened his eyes.

"Here, try to eat this," Susie instructed, glancing over at the pink puff, "this is test number 1. We have many more depending on how this goes."

Upon cue, Kirby hopped off the chair and inhaled the drone. The next thing he knew, he noticed a mechanical suit of armor draping him. Was this some kind of copy ability?

"Looking good so far," Susie said, pulling out a remote with a red button, "let's put its abilities to the test, shall we?"

Susie pressed the button, causing the room to split down the middle. Different aspects of it shifted and changed, slowly expanding the room into a different configuration—a large empty box with white walls, only for several red and white targets to appear on the wall. Kirby focused his eyes on the targets, trying to feel for what kind of powers he could grab from this new copy ability. After a moment of silence, he readied a built-in blaster cannon and fired a single shot at one of the targets. The target turned green and the wall panels turned back to white.

Kirby's eyes glimmered with anticipation as they focused on the next red target. He charged up his cannon and fired a laser energy blast. Susie took notes as Kirby fired on targets, idly jotting down her observations of his performance and comparisons to the natural abilities of the drone he absorbed. Once Kirby turned the last target green with a barrage of weaker cannon shots, he shifted his gaze towards Susie, wondering what she had in store next.

"As for our next test, I want you to see if you can interface with our computer systems," Susie told him, "I doubt you will be able to, but this is important information to have."

Kirby approached Susie as she turned towards a control panel and began taking notes. The pink puffball examined the machinery before him as he tried figuring out how to link the suit with the network. He tried plugging the suit into the slots on display.

"Please don't do that!" Susie blurted, "that's the wrong type of cable for the hole and not how it works, so please don't mess with the equipment."

Kirby let out a groaned sigh before pulling away from the device. Susie wrote the test off as a failure in her datapad.

"Next," Susie continued, "I'd like to see how long you can sustain flight. The drones here have a limited fuel source and need to be refueled after sustained use, so I would like you to see how long you can fly, to see if you have a fuel source at all, or if it runs on your own energy, or even something else entirely."

Kirby nodded and tilted his gaze upwards. In a matter of seconds, the suit's jetpacks lifted him off the ground. Upon cue, Susie turned on a stopwatch in her hand. Kirby, familiar with the flight from his Wing, Cupid, Beetle and Jet copy abilities, thrust himself backwards as he continued to hover.

Glancing downwards, Kirby waved his arm. Blinking twice, Susie rifled around in her desk for a moment before tossing him a tablet. The pink star warrior didn't have trouble catching the tablet this time. Still hovering, he took a moment to examine the tablet's contents, only to find a few games on it and a video streaming service. Stashing it away, Kirby began flying around the room. Susie kept an eye on him as she took notes and listened to some of her music playing through her headphones.

Kirby had a blast flying around until a couple hours later, the jetpacks sputtered out the last of its fuel. He yelped as he plummeted to the floor, landing on his backside.

"Well," Susie commented, "that's fairly conclusive."

Kirby staggered back to his feet and rubbed his head, having shed his copy ability. He glanced up at Susie just as she finished jotting down her notes.

"Well," she commented, "that was a successful day of testing. Come back tomorrow and we can perform some more."

"Poyo!" Kirby chirped, waving his arm.

Susie waved back just as Kirby turned and left the room. He meandered his way through the station until he set foot in the hallway leading to the guest rooms. He stopped at one particular door and waited until it slid open. Inside, Vesa held the phone in her hand while she read the list. Elfilin tilted his head towards the door and floated over to the pink puffball.

"Hi, Kirby!" Elfilin waved his paw, "are you hungry? Vesa's ordering dinner."

Kirby blinked twice before he smiled.

"Poyo!"

Kirby happily waddled into the room. Vesa paused for a brief moment and tilted her gaze towards the pink star warrior.

"Hey," Vesa greeted, "how did the appointment with Susie go?"

"Poyo!" Kirby answered, "poyo poyo!"

"Ah, I see," Vesa commented.

Vesa returned her gaze to the list while Kirby stepped closer.

"Poyo?" Kirby asked, waving his arm, "poyo poyo?"

Vesa took a few seconds to process what Kirby told her before she nodded.

"Ok," Vesa proclaimed, "I'll see if I can order some paella for you."

While Vesa proceeded to place dinner orders, Elfilis reclined on the bed, their tail curling up around their side. They pulled out a book to read, taking a full twenty seconds to read a page. Normally, they would read the whole book in this time frame, but they wanted to enjoy life as much as possible, considering their immense power at their disposal. Once Vesa finished placing the orders, she sat down on the bed while Kirby hopped into a lounge chair. Elfilin perched on the arm of the lounge chair while he and the pink puffball chattered with each other.

"Dinner should be on the way," Vesa told Elfilis.

"Ah, good," Elfilis gave her a nod as they turned a page.

Smiling, Vesa laid down next to Elfilis, perching her head on their shoulder. The angelic lancer purred as they placed their arm over her shoulder. She perched her hand on their chest. Their tail swayed as they softly licked her forehead. They placed a bookmark before setting the book aside.

The quiet moment lingered until half an hour later, the door slid open and a waiter stood outside with a cart holding food. Kirby's mouth salivated as he hopped off the lounge chair.

"Evening," the waiter greeted, "your dinner is here. I hope it's to your liking."

"Poyo!" Kirby chirped.

Vesa sat up before slipping off the bed to grab a plate of a lamb chop and mushroom couscous.

"Thank you, sir," Vesa smiled.

"Anytime, ma'am."

Kirby and Elfilin grabbed their meals before scrambling to the table. Once Vesa set down her meal, she took a moment to grab a plate of stuffed eggplants, handing it to Elfilis. The tall space rodent sat down at the table while Vesa waved to the waiter, who nodded and made his departure. Kirby gulped down his bites of paella while Elfilin nibbled at his kebab. Sitting next to Vesa, Elfilis slowly ate their stuffed eggplant. Keeping up their polite table manners was easy enough for the ultimate life-form to savor the experience.
