A young boy was crying and his mother kept her arm around him.

"What's wrong baby?" asked the mother.

"I will never be a magician."

"You already are one darling."

"But people say I will never be good at anything! Telekinesis, shapeshifting, healing, nothing! Everything I try miserably fails into my face and the other kids laugh at my face. I will never be a good magician."

"Honey, everyone can be what they want to be as long as they put their heart to it."

"You say that every time, mama, but it never works! I need a true mentor."

"I am your mentor."

"You are a good witch, mama, but you never teach me anything! No spells or magic."

"Magic comes with time, it comes from emotion and time-"

"Well I'm done with time. I will find a way to become a powerful man. One in which I can prove everyone wrong! Show people who I truly am and I'm not going to find it here."

The boy ran from his parents' house and ran as fast as his legs could take him and soon he became tired and hungry. Up front he saw a castle that gave an awful vibe but the boy was too tired, he needed something. Anything! He stepped through the creaking gates and into the castle. It was grim, dark and depressing and the boy looked around for some food and then he saw a hat on a cushion and went to grab it.

"I wouldn't be doing that if I were you, dearie." laughed a creepy voice.

The boy screamed and fell to the ground to see a scaly, short man with yellow teeth and messy hair.

"Who are you?" asked the boy in fright.

"Well the owner of the castle of course! Rumpelstiltskin!"

"Rumpel-Rumpl-Rumle."

"Easy, Rumpel-stilt-skin."

"Rumpelstiltskin."

"Good job now time to die."

"No, please! I'm sorry for invading your land! Please, I don't want to die!"

"And why should I not kill you?"

"Because if I die, I'll prove everyone else. That I am just a... coward."

Something about Rumpelstiltskin changed. His smile changed into a frown.

"Well we better prove them wrong." he said.

"But the whole-" started the boy.

"Oh forget about that. It seems we have started of on the wrong hand, Rumpelstiltskin here and your new mentor for magic."

"Wait, mentor!" asked the boy with a smile on his face.

Soon, even Rumpelstiltskin began to smile, "Yes and you are..."

"Baron." said the boy. "Baron Facilier."
