(Gardens)
Janine and Rosalie were leaving the hospital. Janine stepped outside in the fresh air. Rosalie got close to the door and peered outside. She noticed the color of the grass seemed brighter than normal. Rosalie moved her eyes to the sky and saw that the sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow over everything. Janine smiled at Rosalie and suggested they take a walk around the hospital grounds to enjoy the beautiful day.
Rosalie started signing, asking, "What is going on?" " Why are grass, leaves, sky, and flowers so much brighter than normal?" Janine explained that it was probably due to the recent rain and sunshine, which made everything look more vibrant." Janine took Rosalie's hand, and they began their leisurely stroll around the hospital grounds, soaking in the beauty of the day.
As they walked, Janine pointed out the colorful flowers and lush greenery that seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. Rosalie's face lit up with wonder and appreciation for the simple beauty surrounding them. Janine knew Rosalie's body was going through changes, and why could she see things brighter than normal because Rosalie's eyes are seeing things normal dhampiers or Moroi don't see?
The old queen asked Janine to write down everything about what happened with the new arrival at the academy. Janine nodded, understanding the importance of documenting Rosalie's unique perspective. She made a mental note to capture every detail of their stroll for the queen's records.
Janine noticed Rosalie sniffing air, then started signing by asking, "Who is making bread?" Janine realized that Rosalie's scents are getting stronger than before, indicating a heightened sense of smell. Janine thought it was impressive that Rosalie could smell bread from across the yard. Knowing that sister Sarch was baking the bread. Seconds later, Rosalie was peering up in a tree at something. Janine peered up into the tree to notice it was one native bird making a nest.
So Janine realized new developments: three of Rosalie's sensory senses—smell, sight, and hearing were sharper than any Moroi or Dhampier on the planet. Janine marveled at how Rosalie's heightened senses were allowing her to experience the world in a whole new way, deepening her understanding of the importance of documenting Rosalie's unique perspective for the queen's records.
As Janine continued to observe Rosalie's interactions with the world around her, she couldn't help but wonder how these heightened senses would continue to shape her experiences and perceptions in the future. The realization that Rosalie's abilities could potentially provide valuable insights for the queen's records filled Janine with a sense of responsibility and excitement for what was to come.
Janie watched Rosalie's head snap around and peer at something across the ground. Janine turned around to see Old Queen and Sister Mary walking the ground together. She thought to herself, Could Rosalie hear them? Rosalie frowned and peered, which was unpleasant. Janine realized Rosalie had overheard them.
"It's rude, too easy-dropping," remarked Janine. Rosalie turned her head to the side, her eyes shifting to Janine. Rosalie began to sign and questioned, "I don't understand what's happening to me." "I didn't mean easy-dropping." "It feels different, as all my senses seem heightened, and I can't control it." Janine responded, "It is understandable that you must feel different at this time." "Change can be overwhelming, but it's important to embrace it and learn from it."
Rosalie nodded, taking in Janine's words of wisdom. She knew she had to navigate this new experience with an open mind and a willingness to adapt. Rosalie took a deep breath, feeling a sense of determination to embrace the change. She knew that with Janine's support, she could overcome this challenge and grow from it.
Sister Mary walked over to Rosalie and Janine and said, "It's time to test skills." Please, Guardian Hathaway could take a new arrival to the testing area. Janine walked up to Rosalie and said, "Follow me to the testing area. Rosalie followed Janine to the testing area, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. She knew that this would be a crucial moment in her journey towards growth and self-discovery.
(Testing area)
Janine and Rosalie arrived at the gym. Rosalie peered around the gym and noticed a female guardian standing next to the wall. It looked like they were waiting for something. The male guardian stopped Janine from entering. Janine said, "Yes, Guardian Smith." Rosalie could see that this male guardian had blonde hair and blue eyes. He stood about six feet tall, wearing guardian suits like the other guardians wear.
Guardian Smith said, "The new arrival test will soon start." Janine said, She has a name, Guardian Smith. Janine said, Her name is Rosalie Hathaway. Guardian Smith looked at Rosalie and said, "Sorry! Rosalie." Rosalie smiled and nodded.
Rosalie started using sign language and said, "It's alright, Guardian Smith." Guardian Smith realized that Rosalie was using American sign language and asked, "Are you deaf-mute?" Rosalie started signing by saying, "I'm not deaf-mute; I can hear you." Guardian Smith nodded in understanding and continued with the instructions for the test.
Guardian Smith said, "Rosalie must do it on her own." As soon as the old queen is here." "The strigoi will be let in, and the new arrival will kill it." Janine said, "Are you going to give a sliver stake to kill strigoi?" Guardian Smith said, "No!"
Guardian Smith and Janine didn't realize that Rosalie had overheard them, as she reached over and took Guardian Smith's silver stack from his holdest. Janine moved her eyes to Rosalie, seeing that Rosalie was holding the silver stack in her right hand. Janine said, "Guardian Smith, it would peer that Rosalie overhead you and unarmed you.
Guardian Smith peered over at Rosalie, seeing that Rosalie was holding his silver stake in her hands. Then, moving his eyes down to the holdter, he noticed that his silver stake was missing. Guardian Smith quickly realized that Rosalie had taken his silver stake and was now in possession of it.
Guardian Smith reached his silver stake, and a second later he hit the floor, and Rosalie stood above him, peering down at him. Janine smiled at Rosalie to see that her daughter had taken down the male guardian in seconds. Janine felt a surge of pride at Rosalie's swift takedown of Guardian Smith, knowing that her daughter's training had paid off. She watched as Rosalie confidently held the silver stake, ready to defend against any threat that may come their way.
The old queen started clapping to see the new arrival, who just took down her guardian in seconds. Janine turned her head to see the old queen standing behind them. The old queen said, "Guardian Hathaway could please keep the silver stake away from the arrival, and the test will start." Janine said, "How is Rosalie to defend herself without a silver stake agaist a strigoi?" The old queen said, "Her magic!"
Rosalie looked questionable at the old queen by cocking her head. The old queen chuckled and replied, "You'll see, my dear. Trust in your abilities." Rosalie took a deep breath and nodded, preparing herself for the challenge ahead. Rosalie heads the silver stake to Janine. Janine took the silver stake from Rosalie's hand.
Rosalie spun around and moved into the testing area. Soon as Rosalie moved into the testing area a metal gate door slammed behind her. Rosalie peered from the pit to notice the high walls with metal bars on top to keep the strigoi inside. Rosalie was fully aware that the strigoi didn't follow any rules and did what they wanted. Janine watched from the other side of the gate, her expression a mix of concern and determination. Rosalie knew she had to stay focused and use all her training to survive this dangerous test.
Across the field, a metal door opened, and a second later, a male strigoi exited, and Rosalie could see it was a human strigoi. The male strigoi scanned the area with a predatory gleam in his eyes, causing Rosalie's heart to race with fear. She knew she had to be quick and strategic in order to outsmart him and escape the pit alive. As the male strigoi approached, Rosalie took a deep breath and prepared herself for the imminent confrontation. She knew that her survival instincts would be put to the ultimate test in this life-or-death situation.
With her heart pounding in her chest, Rosalie braced herself for the inevitable battle that lay ahead. She had to rely on her wits and instincts to outmaneuver the male strigoi and make it out of the pit unscathed. Rosalie's hands trembled as she focused on every move the strigoi made, ready to strike at the perfect moment. She knew that one wrong move could mean the end of her life, but she was determined to fight with everything she had to survive.
The strigoi lunged forward, and Rosalie's training kicked in as she dodged his attack with lightning speed. Every fiber of her being was focused on one goal: emerging victorious from this deadly encounter. She knew that her strength and determination would be the keys to overcoming this formidable opponent. With a swift and calculated strike, Rosalie managed to disarm the strigoi, leaving him vulnerable. As she prepared to deliver the final blow, she could feel victory within her grasp.
Rosalie knew that she had used her magic when both of her hands burst into flames and crowed gasped in surprise to see that Rosalie used the element of fire. With a fierce determination, she channeled the flames towards the strigoi, watching as he writhed in pain. The fire consumed him, leaving nothing but a burned body. Victory was hers, and she knew that her strength and magic had prevailed in the end.
The old queen looked surprised that the new arrival could use the element of fire. The other sisters of the phoenix stood up from their seats, seeing their new sister as the one who controlled fire. The old queen smiled, knowing that their sisterhood had gained a powerful ally. Together, they would be unstoppable against any threat that came their way.
The old queen started clapping and had enjoyed the show. Rosalie was slowing her breath, and flames disappeared from Rosalie's hands. The guardians peered at Rosalie in surprise to see novice Dhampier use the element of fire like a Moroi. Janine was surprised that her daughter could use magic. But remember that Ibrahim Mazur was an earth user.
As the room buzzed with excitement, Janine couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in her daughter's magical abilities. Rosalie felt that something was up; everyone was so happy that the sisterhood of the phoenix was all together. Rosalie knew that one of her sisters was missing. Rosalie peered at her new sisters, and thought they could feel it too.
The absence of one of their own weighed heavily on Rosalie's mind, casting a shadow over the otherwise joyous reunion. She made a mental note to investigate further and ensure the safety of her missing sister. Rosalie's intuition told her that there was more to the situation than met the eye, and she was determined to get to the bottom of it. She resolved to discreetly inquire about her missing sister's whereabouts and well-being before the night was over.
The old queen said, "Good! All the sisters of the Phoenix are here together. Rosalie did something unbelievable, when she jumped, straited up, threw the top of the cage, landed in front of the old queen, and started using sign language by saying, "You lie." "We are missing our sister of Spirit." The old queen looked questionable at Rosalie and didn't understand what she said.
Guardian Smith moved forward, and said, My Queen. I would like to meet Rosalie Hathaway and use American sign language. Rosalie said, "You lie." "They are missing their sister of Spirit." The old queen's eyes widened in surprise as Guardian Smith began to communicate with Rosalie in sign language. Rosalie's words seemed to strike a chord, and the old queen's expression softened as she realized the truth of the situation.
The old queen said, "My mistake!" "Nice to meet you, Rosalie Hathaway." Rosalie smiled and started to sign, "Nice to you, my queen." Guardian Smith's ability to bridge the communication gap between Rosalie and the old queen brought a sense of understanding and unity to the room. As Rosalie and the queen exchanged pleasantries in sign language, a newfound respect and connection seemed to form between them.
The old queen asked, "Where were you born deaf-mute?" Guardian Smith said, "Rosalie isn't so deaf-mute." "Rosalie can hear you. My queen." The old queen looked surprised that Rosalie could hear her." The old queen asked, "Did something happen to make you mute?" Rosalie nodded her head, yes. The old queen said, while telling us, How did you become mute?"
Rosalie started to sign language and say, "When I was 12 years old, back at St. Valdmir's Academy, Guardian Blackstone came to my class room to get Christian Ozera and myself safely to the bus that would have taken us to the museum." Before we arrived at the bus, a male strigoi attacked us." "Guardian Blackstone protected us from the male strigoi." "I attempted to shield Christian Ozera from the strigoi." "Guardian Blackstone was slain in front of both of us." "I picked up Guardian Blackstone's sliver stake." "That was the night I paid the price." "The male strigoi started chocking and crushing my voice box." "Before any guardian could arrive, I made my first kill."
The old queen now understands why Rosalie used sign language to speak, not realizing that the only reason Rosalie was using sign language was to watch everyone and see if something was off with the place. It was a clever way for Rosalie to stay alert and aware of her surroundings without drawing attention to herself. The old queen found the story about Rosalie losing her voice was surprising and asked, "When did your magic appear?"
Rosalie cocked her head and said, "I have always had magic and hide it from everyone." Beside Dhampier, they normally don't have magic." Rosalie's ability to conceal her magic intrigued the old queen, who wondered how she managed to keep it hidden for so long. Rosalie simply smiled and replied, "It's a skill I've honed over the years." Her mysterious aura only added to her enigmatic charm."
The old queen couldn't help but feel a sense of respect and curiosity towards Rosalie's hidden powers. As they continued their conversation, the queen realized that there was much more to Rosalie than met the eye.
The old queen said, "You will join sisters and learn to control your magic abilities." Rosalie thought she would play alone. But she didn't agree with the way the old queen acted toward them. Rosalie gets something off about this place. Rosalie asked, "When will my mentor be arriving?"
Guardian Smith replied, "Your mentor will arrive the day after tomorrow at dawn to begin your training." Rosalie nodded, eager to unlock the secrets of her powers under the guidance of her mentor. The old queen asked, "Who is your mentor?" Rosalie said, "Guardian Dimitri Belikov from Baia, Russia." The old queen nodded in approval, knowing that Guardian Dimitri Belikov was a skilled and respected mentor. Rosalie felt a sense of relief, knowing she would be learning from someone with such a strong reputation in the magical community.
Janine watched her daughter and knew something was up. Why would you ask, Guardian Dimitri Belikov from Baia, Russia? Rosalie said, "Could you please inform Guardian Petov at Basil Academy about my location?" "I don't know her worries about me." The old queen called Guardian Hathaway to send a message to St. Basil Academy to inform Guardian Petov that Rosalie Hathaway had been found and was staying with us. Janine said, "Yes, my queen."
Rosalie said, "Where is the cafeteria?" "I would like to have some of that bread that someone baked earlier that smells good." Rosalie spun around, leaving the test area, while her new sisters followed behind.
